battery tweaks for samsung galaxy grand... - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Guys I just wanna say the battery backup of our galaxy grand is too low... I mean it drains to early when I start playing NFS most Wanted... And usually its drains early while even not playing games.... I would like to request our developers to develop some scripts and tweaks for saving battery....
what do u say guys??

if u are on custom rom with custom kernel by me then try different governors and i/o combinations to get good battery life or flash this http://d-h.st/eJL in ur custom rom with custom kernel

What if i am on stock rom....
With AP : I9082XXAMCD
CP : I9082XXAMD1
And CSC:I9082OMB2
And havent rooted yet??

then try to follow this
1. set ur wallpaper having plain black color only(black reduces screen power usage)
2.set ur brightness to bare minimum required.
4. turn off services u dont use in settings
5.use data as n' whn required(disable data whn not required)
you wont get any scripting support unless u enable root+init.d in ur rom.

Well at last I foynd out tge best solution that is let it be stock rom or let it be custom rom...juice defender ultimate does the work in good sense....it really saves battery from draining..

Juice defender is the outdated version.. It has no developer support. Last updated on 2012 Jan.. Check plays tore for more information.. Use greenify apps from playstore.. It automatically freeze apps.. When not in use.. It saves lot of ram and battery life... Try to avoid widgets it drains lot battery.. Famous launcher smart launcher didn't include widgets for this reason. Don't use any task killers it eats more battery. Android has inbuilt task killer in case of low memory..

Display is most power hog.. Secondly when you using widgets which eats more battery.. Try to avoid widgets.. Among applications most of the power consuming applications are Samsung bloatwares which needs more ram and processor... If you using flip cover one application called smart cover which switch off display when u close the cover and turns on when u open the flip cover.. For this apps u don't need root. The idea behind is that it works on proximity sensor.. U can also save battery by reducing the speed of processor when the device display turns off. Battery doctor is the name of the application.. For this u need root.. I'm a heavy user.,I'm getting a 6 to 8 hrs of battery..
Sent from Gt-I9082 stock AMCD firmware

Hmmm... Same here... I am also a heavy user getting 5-6 hours backup... Mostly i play games such as need for speed most wanted., temple run 2,rope escape, temple run oz, and watch a lot of movies.. Probably it can be firmware issue as well... Because i have done a factory reset and now its giving some more backup...

You sound waaaaay too picky. My suggestion, either stay stock or make your own rom
Okay...you also want Samsung apps, right? Then, in my opinion, don't install custom rom, just use stock rom. Then, try theses.
For battery life>> download "greenify" from the Google play store.. Promised to boost your battery life
For performance ( powerful) >> flash " perseus kernel" , Overclock your cpu to 1800 MHz,there are also many system tweaks ( changes that will make your device faster )
For look good ( you said look osm ) >> install xposed framework. This can change the color of your notification bar, clock color, etc .. If you don't know how to install these, search in Google. Sorry for being not able to give you links.... You should also download " GMD gesture control" from the Google play store. That will hide your notification bar to make all apps "full screen"

Greenify caused me problems. Swiftkey keyboard waked up my phone some times, so i Greenify it. But when i wanted to use it, all i got was a black screen. Only after i removed the battery the problem solved.
Generally this programme is useful for Facebook, eBay, Tapatalk. And only if you don't want notifications from these apps.
Can't use it (there is no point) in Viber, clock - temperature - diary widgets, battery monitoring programmes, setCPU programmes, WiFi Toggler programmes, call recording programmes, Cerberus or "where's my DROID" programmes.
For me is useless...

Whatsapp is an IM app. I don't use it but I use other IM, viber. If you Greenify it you lose the messages and all the notifications.
Hd widgets tells the time and the weather. I have bought that programme too. It's not wise to Greenify it. Cloak stops working and weather doesn't change.
Watchdog counts your 3G data. If it is not running, it can't counts.
So what's your point?

On a locked bootloader?

U need custom kernel for custom ROMs. Stock kernel only supports stock ROM.
I use Trinity's ROM, it has a nice battery life (though I use custom kernel, i don't know if it will have much difference without it)
You can use Greenify to hibernate apps, it helps a lot.
Why not unlock bootloader?
U can relock it if you want.

MIUI v5 is good but not smooth as Stock based JB.
Snapdragon BatteryGuru
Try Snapdragon BatteryGuru (download google play store). It runs an all devices with snapdragon hardware. It learns automatically and battery life could be much better.
FreeXperiaProject FXP228 - my favorit rom
because of the possibility to manually control the brightness of the display i was able to double battery life.

I agree, I've been ROM hopping and FreeXperia 228 has been the best so far in battery consumption. Also MIUI in Battery > Power Saving mode is pretty good. I've noticed a significant battery life improvement by using a firewall iptables via a firewall app like AFWall+ and just limiting apps that you know for sure that shouldn't need access to data.

Any Debloated Stock rom (just keep extended batery mode on)
or any Debloated non Stock ROM (usualy slimmer than stock but need unlocked bootloader)
id suggest my own team XCP rom but you might not like it so i Suggest you look around and try some out
Install custom kernel and add greenify.

Suggest ROM for better battery life!

Hi Guys,
Please suggest a custom stable ROM for best battery life. I have Samsung Wonder which i think is not very old and has very good battery. I recently rooted it and installed CyanogenMod 10.1, this ROM is great and on full charge it gives around 12-13 hours of battery life with Wifi On.
I normally turn On wifi and email exchange application, so please let me know if we have more option to increase battery life.
Thanks all
I suggest you One of a Kind.

This device doesn´t support auto brightness. Neither in the stock ROM, nor in custom ROMs. There is simply no light sensor to support autobrightness. This device only offers a proximity sensor which also works in CM9 and this is telling me you have no clue what you are talking about.

So just because you faced some flickering while browsing you are claiming this ROM is not stable?
I assure you it´s way more stable than a stock ROM can be and this flickering means nothing. Probably the most unstable part is located in front of the LCD and pressed some buttons while browsing.
This is a screenshoot of my CM9 and it can last up to 7 days with one charge:

I believe that it means set cpu governor. Basically you can set how your CPU act based on various parameter.
About these parameters, I'm afraid I can't give you any advice, because everyone has different needs, and me myself, I prefer the default setting.

For overclock just flash one of the kernel availabe for CM11 (k2wl's Evolution kernel or xenon92's Nebula kernel)
then press the build number in "about phone" 7-10 times (im forgot). The performance setting will appear in settings menu (not "about phone"). Grant superuser if asked. then change the governor or cpu clock. JUST, dont overclock your cpu too high because its only drain your battery quickly and shorten the CPU life
