Follow This if u dont want to revert back to stock rom
Prerequisites: Triangle Away, Mobile Odin (doesn’t increase flash count like PC version), Rooted Rom of your choice, cwm recovery.
Step by Step Guide – follow to the letter, especially the remove battery bits
1.Power off Samsung Galaxy Grand.
2.Press and hold down Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time to enter download mode.
3.Press Volume Up button when warning prompt.
4.Odin download mode will be loaded.
5.Note your custom binary download counter number and system status.
6.Long press Power button to restart Samsung Galaxy Grand.
7.Go to Settings.
8.Select About device.
9.Select Status ~ show status of battery, network, and other information.
10.Device status should be Modified.
The business starts here...
11.Launch Triangle Away.
12.Select Reset flash counter.
13. relaunch the app and check the bin counter and status
14.Power off Samsung Galaxy Grand.
15.Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time to enter recovery mode.
16.Release all buttons when you see SGG Logo.
17.ClockworkMod Recovery will be loaded.
18.Go to wipe data/factory reset with Volume Up / Down buttons.
19.Select it with Power button.
20.Then select Yes — delete all user data.
21.Select wipe cache partition.
22.Then select Yes — Wipe cache.
23.After wiping data and cache, reboot the system or pullout the battery
24.Press and hold down Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time to enter download mode again.
25.Press Volume Up button when warning prompt.
26.In Odin download mode Custom binary download should be “No”, current binary to Samsung “Official”.
27.Long press power key to reboot phone
28.Go to settings, about device, status, device status will read “Normal”.
OK, now you have a rooted rom of your choice with zero flash count and official status.
if you are on custom frimware ur system status will be custom to make it official u need to be on stock rom
Check Video tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k52amOYH6XE
From here you have choices, either:
•Do nothing – happily use your “clean” rooted phone as it is
•flash other roms of your choice, stock or custom, using mobile Odin without changing flash counter or status, or
•Flash a stock rom with mobile odin, again retaining zero flash count and normal status from which you can perform OTA updates or Kies updates, return phone to Samsung under wararanty if necessary, whatever.
Please press Thanks Button if it Helped you.." Thank You..God Bless everyone " :good::good::good:

No need to do this long procedure... No need to remove the battery.. And triangle away doesn't boot the phone it only resets the binary counter. odin pc version doesn't increase binary counter . and mobile odin pro currently doesn't support galaxy grand.. Check plays tore and read the description of currently supporting devices... . He is telling about some other devices not galaxy grand.. Here is the YouTube link for rooting to galaxy grand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm1ssFkEaN0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Here is the YouTube link For unrooting http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?featur...top_uri=/watch?v=k52amOYH6XE&feature=youtu.be

[Q] Serious problem with new Samsung Galaxy 3

I'm new to rooting and recently i attempted to root my Samsung galaxy S3 it using the Samsung galaxy S3 toolkit V5. My build was not listed so i selected build #1, I installed the drivers to my pc, went to rooting options, selected option #3 All In One, Enabled USB debugging ans started the process which opened up Odin and started doing its thing, but basically my phone was in Odin mode with the android figure which says downloading... Do not turn off target! but of course I thought it wasn't working and i had to unplug the USB and put it back in (I know I'm stupid Lol)
Now my phone will not boot at all, when i hold up volume power and home a battery image shows up and the phone shuts off again even though its plugged into my computer.
When i hold volume down power and home, this shows up: Warning! A custom os can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications
if you want to download a custom os press the volume up key, otherwhise press volume down to restart phone.
If i press voulume down it does not restart, it simply shuts off again.
If i press volume up it goes back to the downloading android even though it isnt downloading anything.
At the top left corner it says:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SGH-I747M
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (3 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
My phone is not even detected on my computer or by the toolkit anymore, Im not sure if Odin detects it either.
I cant find any help regarding my specific problem and im starting to lose hope. Please help.
Bump
You can still get into Download mode so there is still hope. I'll provide a link I think you should check out. Remember to choose the proper carrier and follow the instructions to flash.

Thanks for the help so far, i used your method but the installation failed so I selected wipe the cache and reboot my phone and when it rebooted it stayed stuck at the blue light and Samsung logo. Now no matter what i do, when the phone restarts it stays stuck at that logo.
When i go back to Odin mode it it says there are now 5 custom binary downloads.
Did you also wipe data/factory reset along with clearing the cache/dalvik cache?
Down load stock firmware for your phone at Samsung.com and flash it in Odin. You can reset flash count with triangle away.

If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it! Ask before you do it.
Follow the tutorial below to unbrick your phone.
Enter CWM (press and hold Home + Volume Up + Power button, when the Samsung logo appears, release the Power button and keep pressing Home + Volume Up buttons) and:
select "clear data/factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard (be careful NOT to format /external_sd by mistake)
restart into Download mode (restart, press and hold Home + Volume Down + Power buttons)
flash Samsung stock ROM via ODIN Multidownloader
reboot your phone (it will probably automatically reboot anyway after ODIN finishes flashing the stock ROM)
Oh, and by the way, if you would have followed this tutorial when flashing those 3 custom ROMs, your 3G connectivity might have worked and you wouldn't have gotten into this kind of troubles by trying to flash stock ROM over custom ROM without wiping the most important component of any ROM (the /system folder!).

[Q] N7100 This is a real EMMC problem? please help

Hi and million thanks in advance for any help, and excuse my english im from Venezuela.
First i can say that i read about EMMC problems, i want to be sure because i leave my phone with a technician and the conclusion was a EMMC problem or some kind of hardware problem, he tried with several firmwares.
I read that on EMMC problems or sudden death, when you are in download mode, product name doesn´t say GT-N7100 like this:
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-N7100
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Knox Warranty Void: 0
Rp Swrev:
Before this happens the phone get many forced restarts, it was on Jelly Bean 4.3, sometimes just froze at random times, then i get into recovery and wipe date, after that the phone starts like new but where i was reading the steps to wipe the phone properly i read that i had to wipe cache too, so i entered recovery again and wipe data then i wipe cache, when the phone restarted it just stay on Galax Note logo, i waited like 45 minutes and remove battery.
When i tried to enter recovery again i couldnt, i was happy that the phone entered download mode so i get a new 4.3 firmware, downloaded odin and tried to install the firmware, odin failed to install and said Theres no pit partition.
Appreciate the help that anybody can give me, i even didnt care if i have to install a custom firmare with custom recovery, i dont have warranty here in Venezuela and i think technicians are sometimes clueless with thins kind of problems.
Have a really nice day.

Never flash your phone untill you have read all the possible problems and their solutions
Anyways, here's what you should do :
1) Download PhilZ or TWRP Recovery to your PC. You need tar.md5 extension files
2) Download some good custom ROM like Ditto Note v3.2, Phoenix v17, DrKetan v6.1, JellyKat v3, etc. Keep it on your External SDcard.
3) Flash any Recovery that you downloaded (PhilZ or TWRP) through ODIN. Put file in PDA tab and UNTICK Repartiton and Auto Reboot.
4) Remove phone from PC when ODIN says PASS. Remove battery. Re-insert battery and start phone in Recovery mode (Vol up + Home + Power)
5) Now wipe data/factory reset
6) Flash any Custom ROM that you downloaded and placed on External SDCard.
7) Reboot System
8) You should be good :good:
Good luck !!!

Thank you very much for your kind response i was feeling alone around here hahahaha
I already tried that method but everytime i flash something, CWM, Philz, TWRP, Pit File for N7100 16gb, 4.3 jelly bean Bootloader, i get the same There is no pit partition error.
I kinda lost hope right now but everytime that happens i remember again that one of the requisites of the nefarious SDS sudden death, fried EMMC is that in download mode Product Name should be Empty, so theres is a ray of light in the end maybe.

Hello Vatsalbh9, follow the steps in video to root your phone.
1. Yes you need to root your device to use custom recovery.
2 & 3. You need to use odin first to get cwm recovery installed in your phone. Follow video steps.
4. When you have installed cwm recovery mode with odin, just go to recovery mode (keep holding vol up+power+home button until samsung galaxy grand gt i9082 logo appears on screen). Der you will see backup option. So make a nandroid backup in your external sd card and transfer that backup (clockworkmod folder in your ext sd card) in your laptop or pc for future use.
Download the files given in the description of the video.

Thank you for your reply...
i will do accordingly and if any further query exists, will ask...

No need of downloading stock rom, just make a nandroid backup for future use if you want to go back to stock rom. Download any of the custom rom given in the development thread.

Follow these steps for nandroid backup :-
1. Enter into recovery mode(vol up+power+home button)
2. U will see many options like - reboot system, install from zip, wipe data... Bla bla bla... And BACKUP AND RESTORE
3. Select Backup & Restore option.
4. Once u select it, again many options will come but choose backup on ext sd card/sdcard01
5. Nandroid backup will take around 5-10 mins depending upon your data size.
6. Once the process is complete, you will see a text written on bottom of screen 'Backup is complete'.... Go back to previous menu and reboot your phone.
7. You will find "clockworkmode" folder in your ext sd card. This folder contains your nandroid backup. Transfer this folder to another safe location like pc or laptop.
Note.. While in cwm recovery mode, use vol up and down key for navigation and power key for selecting any particular option.
Also dont increase comments for saying thanks, just press the thanks button
For installing any custom rom, download and save the rom, GApps in your ext sd card and flash them in cwm recovery mode.
Steps for installing rom will be given in respective rom threads but generally these steps are to be performed :-
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cache partition
3. Wipe dalvik cache
4. Install rom(zip)
Once installation is complete, install GApps
5. Wipe cache partition
6. Wipe delvik cache
7. Reboot your phone.
First boot of every custom rom will take a longer time to boot.. Varying from 3-10 mins, so dont panic.
Also some custom roms require latest version of cwm recovery, so before installing custom rom, download the recovery and flash it..
1. In cwm( if it is a zip file)
Or
2. In odin( if it is a. Img or. Tar file)

Redo the process.... I think cwm is not installed on ur phone yet. When you see pass in odin.. Just remove the battery manually... Wait for 5-6 seconds.. Den reboot your phone.. Once a normal reboot is completed... Den go to recovery mode....
Hope u get it this time.
Ok...
Is the CWM provided in the YouTube link is latest ?
Cz if I want to install latest rom will it support ?
And is it necessary to flash supersu via CWM for installing custom rom ? Or only CWM is enough ?

No it isnt the latest version, but it will help you to proceed further. Once you get this cwm recovery mode, you can easily flash latest version as well.. And there will be a link given for recommend recovery in rom thread.
No it isnt necessary to flash super su as all cm11 based roms have inbuilt super su with them.
I already have custom ROM and 4.4.4 KitKat . I am very happy that I did it by the help of XDA forum
When can i get Android L update .
Sent from my GT-I9082 using XDA Free mobile app

Seems like you dont have usb drivers installed properly in your pc. Does the ID:Com turns into blue color when you connect your phone to pc? If not then install samsung kies first on ur pc.
See d screenshot... The portion circled should be blue... Before hitting start.
Yes sir it turns blue...it says about ID:COM(3) something...
Odin says added...
Then only I start Flashing...

1. Use this recovery by pawitp
2. Untick Auto reboot checkbox in Odin.
3. Once Odin shows pass, remove battery, wait 10-15 secs, re-insert and enter Recovery mode (by pressing Vol up +. Power button + Home keys at once until u see boot loader screen and release immediately).

Before you start odin kill kies at background using task manager else it will fail
I didnt immediately took off the battery... I let the fon boot after flashing... I think im making a mistake there... cz I had checked auto reboot in my attempts...
Now im gonna try by unchecking auto reboot option...
When Odin will display Pass, I will disconnect fon from usb and then take off the battery...
Will wait for 15 secs and then will try to boot into recovery mode...
Hope its all done... Fingers crossed...
And I have to release all three buttons(up+home+power)when galaxy grand logo appears... is it right ?
