Want to change ur icons with or without a launcher? This app allows u to do just that. Download the app from the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sg.ruqqq.IconThemer) along with any icon pack follow the instructions that's it.
I'm running stock ROM with root no home replacement app at all and it's working.

I need help on changing downloaded app icons
I tried to copy the apks from data/app to my pc
open it using 7zip and replace the existing icon image with new ones
I was able to change the icons of system apps,
But, couldnt change the downloaded app icons:crying:

download Titanium Back Up Pro (if you don't want to purchase it, find a crack on the net), convert the downloaded app into system app and then it should work like a system app

I already tried that...
but the problem is that i have only about 25mb left in my system/app partition
so I cant move any games to system/app...
Is there any other way to change the icons..
There is a thread in the general section by jader13245 about changing icons.
I will paraphrase what iridaki put on that thread:
To change icons of a non-system/downloaded app you must decompile and resign it, otherwise it will FC.

Hey all I searched for my answer but couldn't come up with anything. I have downloaded some icon pack zip files and want to use them to change my icons for my apps. The only way I have found to do this is using root explorer unzipping the file and then long pressing the icon clicking it and using root explorer to search through to the folder and find the icon I want. This seems like a really long process to change every icon. Can you flash icon zips or how does it work?
Also another quick question. I just flashed Nexus Evolution 4.2.1 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907506 and then I tried to flash the dark horse theme that he links to in the second post. The ROM works fine without the theme but when I try and flash the theme, it sits at the boot screen forever and will not go any farther? Can you use any theme with any rom or how does that work?

The icons are easier to change with a custom launcher like Nova or Apex.
You have to use themes built for the ROM. Some ROMs like CM & AOKP & others use the themechooser themes that you just select in settings.
Yeah the theme i tried was posted in the ROM that i downloaded so i figured it was fine.

First of all root needed root your phone by farmaroot or king root.
And then install these apps in your phone exposed installer, holo themer premium, tinted status bar and xuimod .
To install these apps first install exposed installer and update framework.
Go back click in download search for these apps mentioned above (holo themer premium. tinted status bar,xuimod) and install
Go back click module and check all . And restart phone.
Go to holo themer pro and click app which you want to theme and select "use wallpaper no title" and save.do for all apps you want to make transparent.
Search and download exposed installer or click on attachment.
Hit thank if worked.
