So it's not worth the try? Can't gamble on the risk, will be spending hard earned cash to begin with.. Hopefully a class 10 SD will be good then I'll be using Ext2Int.. Hoping it wil dol the trick.

Actually we don't need extra ram..mostly the ram will go upto 600-650 when u play hd games.. Without the use of virtual tweak.. Android already stores some cache in sd card.. To increase the I/O performance.. Class 10 is now a days cheap.. Will get in 1500 Indian rupees.. For 32Gb..

calling for help on - ExtSd2InternalSd v4|Increase your data storage

Look what i found guys, i think this would be a nice addition into Galaxy Y because we have a very limited internal storage capacity.
its called ExtSd2InternalSd, from the name itself it makes your sd card the internal memory and the internal memory the sd card. no need to use app2sd or link2sd if it would work on galaxy y.
I don't know if it would work on the Galaxy Y, but upon reading it worked on the Samsung Note, BTW this mod was made for the GS3.
Gonna test it this coming weekend. hope it works this is gonna be nice. hehe
here's the link if you guys want to find out more.

Please test and report! I don't have PC access right now to unbrick otherwise i would have done it myself!
Anyway thanks for the info!

Btw we should be on cm9 right? If at all this is to work!
knives alinesG
You need a good scripter for this to be able to use it on SGY. I think there some similarities with amarulls and dual boot scripts.. idk but if it worked on SGY then its a good thing. And you need a good quality sdcard though the OP from original thread said a class 4 sdcard is fine.
Edit: Sorry I've putted the capcha on the title
a nysh link u found out there...please Check and let us kno... thank yu
just give the reports and thanx will be urs...
rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...

yup i think this is the best thing to ever happen on our galaxy y.
i'm gonna try this on hyperion rom this coming weekend and see how it goes. you'll never know unless you try hehe. but i hope experienced users/devs can help on this.

Insufficient storage available?!?

OK, I searched, and found nothing for this phone.
That being said, I am getting the "Error. Insufficient storage available." msg when trying to install updates. I have PLENTY of space on both my phone and my ext. SD card. I have fixed the permissions in recovery mode. I have wiped Davlik Cache... At this point, I'm unsure of what to do. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Please, help me!

Did all that already.
I finally got it, though. In Rom Toolbox, I had set the apps to install to the SD card and apparently, in 4.2.2 or...who knows when, the last OS I was using was Gingerbread on my Amaze 4G, well, anyway, 4.2.2 doesn't like TRYING to install apps to the SD card. It stupidly wants to fill up the phones internal storage, and not use the SD card at all, I guess. Well, anyway, I changed it to Auto, and I was able to install and update again. Sheesh. What a headache this mess is.
That would explain it

[Q] Random Music Pause

Greetings,
The music I am playing will pause randomly when using the phones and/or other media players. Some of the pauses are more pronounced and frequent than others depending on which music I am listening to at any period. on rare occasions the Bluetooth function will cycle off and on, as well as the player will stay on pause. The problem is only when I am using the Bluetooth function of the phone (no issue using plug in headsets). The problem is present using several types of bleutooth headsets (LG HS700, and Samsung HM7000). The format of the files I am playing are either 192 to 320 kbps mp3, or max quality vbr mp3. I performed a factory reset of the phone with no change in the problem. The issue seems to be narrowed down to my Generic stores external Micro SD card i am using to store my media files (Micro center 32GB HC) . I copied one of my more consistantly pausing music file to the phone's internal memory. The problem was no longer detected. I have a 16GB internal RAM GSIII. Is there a way to compensate for this problem by somehow changing the cache in the phone?
Indtal SD Booster from the store and set the cache to either 1024 or 2048. I think it'll let you set on boot do reboot and give it a try.
It does the same thing as changing the value for read_ahead_kb that some init.d scripts will do for you.
You do need to be rooted.

If that doesn't help, try reformatting the card. Otherwise you may just need a better one.
I personally never trust generic brand sdcards. They can be much more finicky and can fail much sooner.
Also, for the gs3 I'd get a Class 10 card, but Class 6 would be ok too.

Greetings Docholiday77,
Thanks for your response and suggestion. My SD card is a class 10 card. I have been really nervous about rooting my phone. I have been content with my stock setup. Any suggestions as to a rooted firmware that is close to stock?

Yup! Click the firmware link in my signature. The first group will be under root66. These are official firmware, only pre-rooted. So it'll be just like you have now, plus the power of root.
You can find instructions for using Odin to flash in that thread, or click the root66 link for the original thread which also has them.
And feel free to post any questions you have there as well.

Oh, and as long as you follow directions, there's very little to worry about when it comes to rooting this way.

Greetings DocHoliday77,
Well, I took the plunge and rooted my phone, per your suggestion. The process was smooth. I install the software you recommended, but the problem is still there after I maxed out my cache with SDBooster. Guess I'll chock it up to my SD card. At some point I will try a SanDisk with the same amount of memory to see if the problem is still there. For the time being, I will put my favorite music files on the phones internal memory. Thank you for your suggestions and recommendations.
