[Q] is it possible to make SG grand dual sim to GSM + CDMA (any Hacks)? - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

hi i'm using CDMA sim past 6 years, and it is associated with my bussiness so i can't change number.
Mobile company said they can change to CDMA to GSM for postpaid only (not to prepaid with number portability).
But i want to know is there any technique or methods or hacks to make it work dual sim GSM + CDMA.
any suggestions greatly thankful (sorry for my english)
eshwar

AFAIK CDMA needs a different baseband frequency than GSM
Therefore its impossible

[Q] Any Rom With Supports Cdma and Gsm Sim

Please help me For my Htc Desire . Any Rom which Supports my Cdma Sim in Gsm Desire Phone
Cdma sim works with cdma hardware. Gsm sim works with gsm hardware. There is no rom that will turn a gsm sim to work on a cdma hardware. Same goes the other way around. Change your sim or change your phone. This has been said on the other thread you created as well.

[Q] Someone educate me on SIM Free

Would it be possible to use the One X on Sprint network with a sim free phone?
I don't fully understand. And would Sprint allow this since it will be a ATT/Tmobile phone?
Short answer, no you can't use this phone with sprint. 2 seperate cellular network technologies. AT&T and T-Mobile both use the GSM cell network technology, Sprint and Verizon both use the CDMA cell network technology. The 2 techs are not interchangeable.

[Q] HTC Desire in China

Hi all,
I've recently moved to China and taken my Desire with me. I had assumed I could just unlock it and use a chinese sim but it doesnt seem to be working. From what i've read on various sites it seems China telecom (who are my new provider) use CDMA(?) and Evo-do(?). I'm not going to pretend to understand what these terms mean.
Does anyone know if there is a rom i can flash which will allow me to use the desire on this network? Failing that I do have a chinese lenovo a68e but all of the sites i've found for it so far are in chinese so if anyone can point me in the direction of a custom rom for it (english please ) which i can use i would also be grateful but i would much prefer to get my desire working.
Any help or advice you could give is very much appreciated.
Sorry mate, I'm guessing you have a GSM device (it have a sim card in it). GSM and CDMA are two completely different technologys, they have different hardware in them, that's why CDMA users brick there phones if they flash a GSM ROM. I don't think there is a way to just change GSM into CDMA by flashing a Rom.

My new phone has a sim card just like a uk one. I'll be honest and say I don't know much about any of this stuff but i've found good advice on this site and used roms and things found here before.
Are there CDMA sim cards and GSM sim cards?
It not problem in sim cards CDMA and GSM are network technologies, you have to buy CDMA phone(for example CDMA htc Desire). No ROM can help you. Here's more on CDMA and GSM.(link)
If you have a GSM device, China Mobile shall you go.
no, the difference is in hardware level, u can't do nothing

There's no easter egg. This is mainly a CDMA phone with GSM bands as well.

there is no "cdma" sim....this phone is marketed as a "world phone" buy running on verizons cdma network, while having a gsm sim slot to either run the included verizon/vodafone sim on gsm networks or to unlock the phone and run a different networks simcard
off the top of my head, droid 2 global, htc merge (never sold by verizon but available to 3rd party retailers) are other android vzw "world" phones
thanx dudes for getting me to the straight.
Can anyone list all the worldphones by Verizon or share the link of Verizon Worldphone page?
Also if possible share the forum thread of that Chinese ROM.
<offtopic> In India CDMA operators are based on RUIM cards (similar to SIM of GSM), hence unlocking the bands means hassle-free freedom to choose any CDMA operator any time!

[Q] Need Help to Unlock HTC One V (virgin mobile usa)

Hey guys, I just bought HTC One V Virgin Mobile USA non-contract cdma phone during the thanksgiving holiday and am wondering if I can in any way unlock it. I am also traveling to Malaysia during the Christmas holiday and it would be great if I can unlock it and use it with any carrier in Malaysia such as DiGi, Maxis, Celcom, and so forth. I don't mind rooting it either if there is a specific step I have to follow through. Please share your knowledge with me. Thank you so much.

Cdma has no sim slot, gsm does, so you can't make a gsm into cdma or vice versa. About the IMEI its in the options of your phone. If your phone has the sim slot it is gsm, else cdma and you can't do anything about that

cdma hasn't sim slot but have metal ends for this slot.... you can place slot or put on it sim card.... (of course if this is only difference)
Completely different radios, CDMA vs GSM.
cd
HTC one V (version CDMA) works in Europe and why I think that it is version with CDMA and GSM .... If you don't believe .... write *#*#4636#*#* you can change to do auto GSM ....
Sorry i am not clear on sim card slot on cdma phone (from virgin). what do you mean by metal ends? How can a cdma phone will have simcard slot?
Thanks,
cd
I think phone is the same with difference in software and hardware not installed sim slot ---> but motherboard is the same i think.... To work in Europe I must use GSM. Some people reports that it works. If it is only CDMA version for what is GSM option of radio ?
cd
Metal ends - these are normal 6 metal ends to install sim slot (if you open phone you will see it.
