[Q] New Xperia Play OS update?

I noticed today on IGN they were doing a preview on the Play and the phone he was using supported landscape mode on the home screen. How is this possible? Is it because it's a new version of the software on the American phones? Here's the link:
http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/05/19/sony-ericsson-xperia-play-sneak-peak
The stock SE launcher on the Canadian and European versions looks nothing like this and doesn't support landscape so probably a custom launcher or some variant on the stock launcher.
Looks like launcher pro setup to a Froyo look.
Regards Dousan...
the verizon phone does away with the SE launcher and uses stock android. It's a lot more stock than our phone engadget did a piece about it a couple of days ago.
Also noticed that Crash Bandicoot was in the Xperia Play Launcher. Is this normal? Mine is in the Playstation Pocket app but not in the XP Launcher, so now wondering if anyone knows how to add it to that?
Did that guy say its on sale for 199?

That'll be with a contract. Your better off here (for now)
Thats the stock 2.3 launcher there~
Looks like a stock.gingerbread launcher. So I'm sure is missing the awesome Sony Ericsson arc messenger and the camera app too. Hope no but I got the feeling. Gonna go check it out

If you hold your finger on the screen (not on an icon) it will pop up a menu to select shortcuts. from there select applications then find the game/app and it will add it to your screen.

Ok, this must be a joke - I've tried holding my finger on the screen on the Xperia Play games launcher (not on an icon) that comes stock with Gingerbread 2.3.4 and also with Playstation Pocket - there is no menu that appears that allows me to add game shortcuts....how did you get this to work?

First in settings set the activation area to 0.
Next the pie radius will automatically increase as u set both the levels....
And as for setting apps go to pie settings which is at the end)
1)level one for the pie indicates the first ring....
In that touch pie item 1...next go to app and select any app which will become 1st shortcut on ring 1.
2)next ull see pie item longpress
This one indicates that if u long press item u have already installed it will open another app that u choose in this "longpress"
Next option is 2nd app on ring 1 and so on....
After finishing go to level to which will produce ring 2.
Enjoy

PIE CONTROLS of paranoid android on any rooted rom

Firstly, this is not my work. It's something i came across.
PIE controls is one of the coolest features of paranoid android 2.99, but only few can switch to pa 2.99.
So this is for those with locked bootloaders or on other roms,
all u need is to be rooted.
It offers you every bit of customization, from color to animation to even your own icons and you can also select which apps should have the pie control and which shouldn't
View attachment 1702431
download and install the attached apk:View attachment LMT_v1.9.apk
Here is the original thread
First of all it's not a feature of paranoid, it's a feature off LMT launcher, paranoid team just implemented it in their ROM because they wanted more space in the screen by removing the navigation bar..

This works great on the Ion but does take a bit of setup. I am working on color codes for the Z themes but it is proving to be a bit tricky.
You should update the OP and give proper credits, this is a work of noname81. Here's the thread for your help.

[Q] Is it possible to get touchwiz on my Xperia ZL?

Well, I'm just wondering if it is possible to get Touchwiz on my Xperia ZL? (Android 4.2.2)
I really like the Touchwiz better than the one on default Xperia ZL..
Any suggestions?
not sure if it works completely (did a quick search) but try this link
- http://www.4shared.com/android/iXHhE_E_/Samsung_Touchwiz_Launcher.htm
however i think a better route for u to go is by getting something like nova launcher and an icon pack, much faster
