a little help?

so i just flashed the JB rom. all i wanted to do was try it out then i wanted to restore my old rom ViperX and when i restored it i am now in boot loop??
do i need to flash the boot.img for viper again?

Yes you have to flash the boot.img for the viper rom. otherwise you get where you are now.

thank you! working now. so if i want to restore my stock rom backup i have to flash the boot.img? because i dont have it..
Could somebody post the stock boot.IMG?

not sure how it goes with stock roms, never tried it.:fingers-crossed:

yes just make sure it is the correct boot.img for that firmware

Well it's for my stock Rom backup, 1.29. I will try later, thanks for your help!

yep, like goku said , it has to be what ur phone was running before. if it doesnt match, worst you can do is download an ruu and extract to find boot.img...but thatll be a pain. dont reckon ull ever need to go back to stock though, there is always a better rom around the corner

when you flash boot.img also fastboot erase cache as well

I just want to know that I can revert to my stock Rom if anything happens you see!

[Q] HTC One X Bootloop, can't get to recovery

Hey guys,
Today i flashed my One x using methods 2 in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920060.
And now i'm experiencing bootloops. I can access fastboot and I've tried to access recovery through fastboot but the CWM logo will flash for about 1 second then the phone will turn off and go into a bootloop. What should i do to get back into recovery?
I have a backup in reocvery which i can restore but i can't get into recovery

Selling HTC One X - need to get stock ROM

Hi Guy's,
I am selling my HTC One X 32GB phone. It is currently rooted running Venom ViperX 3.3.8 I want to Unroot phone and re-install factory ROM . Does anyone have a link for how to do this and the files that i will need, i.e RUU and Factory ROM?
Attached are my current software info and Kernel. This phone was bought in Ireland. So i am looking to return it to factory ROM.
Any help would be great. Just finding it hard to find how to do this.

Charge the Batt
Lock the bootloader
Run the ruu with admin rights from the pc
Keep the phone in the bootloader while executing the ruu

fastboot oem lock is the command for locking so that you know.

Just re-locked botloader. Waiting for RUU to download.
Do you have a link for the Stock ROM?

The ruu is the stock rom, the ruu flashes back the stock recovery, kernel and rom. After the ruu you are back to stock and also directly able to update to jellybean with official ota's :thumbup:

RUU failed due to unknown error. It just had HTC on screen, recovered successfully.
do you know why this may have happened? About to re-run RUU.
Phone is relocked, I have USB connected to fastboot. Is this ok?

Yeah that's oke....the phone in the bootloader and also click on the ruu with the right mousebutton and select
Run as administrator
Of that does not work you can try this one

Hi TToivanen,
I am runniing as admin. It seems to be failing at the signature. Error 155 Unknown error.
Any ideas. Just recovered again.

Just googling error 155. Says it maybe wrong RUU?

If you did
Fastboot getvar version-main and that number corresponds with the ruu its def the right one.

Getting same error 155 everytime!! Any ideaas.
Relocked is on screen. Attached usb to phone - go into fastboot - run RUU. seems to fail when trying to send signature!

i flashed kernel of tripndroid next kernel but still its getting boot to HBOOT by itself and there is one more thing when ever its getting boot by its own bootloader shows locked but i hav unlocked my bootloader.......plzzzzz help

No you have to make a folder on your sdcard if after flashing and accessing cwm recovery it don't exist then make in dem folder a BACKUP folder an put there the restore files in....then go to restore and restore it but before that make full wipe ....factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache all in recovery....really easy to do...and NO with relocked bootloader you can't access cwn recovery

Back to stock with my own nandroid ?

S-off, unlocked bootloader, ARHD 11.1, rooted, twrp
If I restore my own nandroid of my stock rom, 4.4.3 / 2.22.401.5, then flash the 2.22.401.5 stock recovery and relock bootlaoder will I be stock so I can install OTA updates ?

Just downloaded your stock recovery, 2.22.401.05, I see it's an 'img' rather than a 'zip'.
Do I put the file in my sdk platform tools folder, open command window and type 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' after renaming the file ?

Also you might need to restore the preloaded data (flashlight and calculator apps) depending on how you unlocked your phone initially. If you used the HTC dev unlock those apps will be deleted when the phone is wiped

I'm ok with that, s-off and unlocked bootloader with sunshine so no preloaded data 'disappeared'. So.... should be a 'complete' nandroid I've got.

Just tried to install your stock recovery with fastboot commands. Kept getting message along the lines of "can't open file etc".
Had restored my stock nandroid successfully, put phone in fastboot mode and typed "fastboot devices" which produced my serial number ok.
Got the recovery on with a toolkit but would like to find out why it wouldn't flash with commands.
I've had these issues before with m7 too and ended up using toolkits.
