[Q] Free smileys for apps - Design, Prototyping, UI, Graphics

I am developing an app which I plan to put on playstore. I need to put smileys and doodles of various kinds in it. Where will I find a good set of emoticons and other icons which I can use in my app? The smileys may be scalable vectors or PNGs. Also a lot of the packs mention they are free for noncommercial use. Do free ad-supported apps count as noncommercial?

You could also ask someone to create one for you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2269526

I think if you earn money, its commercial. You can find some art in devian-art and opengameart. You can email the artists asking them to use their icons for your commercial app.
I used some icons from devian art for my commercial app, i emailed them asking for permission and agreed with me, i just added a thanks to them in my app homescreen.

[Q] Adding extra fonts for office apps.

After searching high and low, the closest I can get to ADDING fonts for office apps, are system font CHANGING apps.
I guess the only way to have additional fonts is to cook them into the ROM.
I sure hope I'm wrong.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue please?
Cac I believe the only way you can add them to an app is to open the app with the tool and put them in where the other fonts are. The resign the app.
This is only an idea as I have never tried to add fonts lol.

Thanks for the heads up.
I might just try that.
Stupid Qwack Office wants me to import a template file with each font I need, then open and rename the file each time I need a different font.
I guess I wasted that money.
I will keep my Fathom close.
Hellofa workaround.

where to find cool wallpapers?

just looking for some siiick wallpapers for this phone? also what launchers have you guys found to have the best ones? i have zeam, t.w, go, and was using adw go but couldnt really figure out how to use it.. :/
My favorite wallpapers are definitely the ones in the Galaxy Pack from Maxelus.net. It's not very expensive and it has 7 customizable wallpapers, or you can get the free galaxies from Maxelus. Those being Ice Galaxy, Inferno Galaxy, Shadow Galaxy, and Vortex Galaxy.
I still haven't been able to find a favorite launcher but I do like SPB Shell 3D. Unfortunately it costs like $15 but you can find it somewhere.
thanks homie!
the zedge app in the market has tons of wallpapers and ringtones and notification sounds
Zedge is an awesome app.

I like higher resolution images, so I just use the browser and go to http://www.reddit.com/r/wallpapers or http://www.reddit.com/r/wallpaper usually some good stuff in there.
I personally use ICS wallpapers because they look super sexy
Here's a link:
[Removed] Since I'm a new user I can't post links.
Just google ICS wallpapers and you'll find links...

Just to let everyone know, Flikie Wallpapers HD uses AirPush ad network which pushes ads to your notification bar.
I usually check out interfacelift when I am looking for new wallpapers

I have found the best way is you just search google. Go to google images. Pick the exact resolution for your wallpaper. It is 980x800 for the Home Screen and 480x800 for the lockscreen. And just search for whatever you want. Chances are you will find it. And it will be free.
I am 99% sure on the sizes but if someone could confirm that for me it would be great.
They got removed in the last update. I ran addons detector and it didn't show up under the push notification section.

Fair enough, I must have had the old version that still included them. If they did choose to get rid of them, then that's great
Yeah,I'm sure better wallpaper apps are out in the market....I'm just to lazy to look.

[Q] Homescreens

I have seens some really fantastic home screens lately online. those that seem non standard (at least for me), like having the link to an app not as a square on your screen but as text instead (and not written vertically or horizontally, but diagonally).
is that part of the rom they are using or themese? Is it possible for the arc s? If so, any info?
Sounds like it's just a different launcher, you can get pretty much any to work with your phone, as an apk, or as a theming app from the play store, which is where you get the themes, however narrowing it down to what theme it was, is your job

When I first joined here the thread I read everyday was the "post a screen shot" in the X10 section, you'll learn a lot from it and come across the apps and mods used by others to create their unique Home screens.
It's probably just an app or a combination of apps. Try looking for multicon, minimalist text, icon changer, font installer, etc etc

Several app widgets are applied to get that effect, try uccw r visit mycolourscreen.com, there's tons f tips n tricks on customizations over there

Theme help

Can anyone tell me what theme this is or where I can find something similar? I've looked at so many launchers and themes and just can't find anything as nice and simple
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
Post help/questions in the Q/A, Help section. Not here.
From the screen shot I believe this theme is made by this application called
"Minimalistic Text"
Download from the given link below-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext&hl=en
Thanks I got the app, looks good so far, but how about the homepage icons, they don't have icons just text. It looks great I want something like that.
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
Those are not just text, Those are icons.
you can make this type of icons with this application. Then with a icon changer or launcher like Nova/Apex you can change stock icons with these customized text base icons.
It was a different app by the same people called simple text but you got me on the right track, thanks a bunch my phone looks great

[APP][Launcher] Solo Launcher

Hi (EG4T?) community, I like to share possibility the best launcher out there, especially the features it has and the price point.... FREE. Solo Launcher basically has all the features of Apex and Nova Pro but it improves on some of them.

Thanks again for pointing this out, bro.
Can it handle large grid sizes like Nova (>10 x 10)? Also, wondering if you can overlap widgets, and have the option to have the dock as overlay. Those are must haves on my list. I couldn't tell from the vid.
Looks like I might have hijacked your posts. Let me know if you want me to move this and delete the original.

They openly take requests in the app reviews (or I think you can email the dev), but I don't think its in there for the most part.
As for the grid size....
Edit: they do have dock as overlay option, but they don't have overlapping widgets yet
Nice. With all the apps I buy, it'll be nice to see a free one do the job well.
Edit: Is that green, beveled border in the screenshot integrated in the launcher, or is that the glass mod from jellyverse? If the latter, that's a huge plus, as it does not work with Apex or Nova. If the former, then that's just frickin awesome.
