Small Gallery Issue - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Howdy all, I'm not sure if this is just a glitch or what, but I noticed while using the gallery the thumbnail preview bar at the bottom and action bar at the top don't go away. On my wife's Note II and my old GS3 gallery if you tap on the picture the thumbnail preview bar and action bar on top go away. It's kind of annoying because a bit of the picture on top and bottom is covered up, more so when in landscape mode, like so:

One question, do you have anything enabled under accessibility? (Tasker, Liteflow, etc..)

:/ yea I do actually for my Pebble watch. Turning it off fixed the issue.. oy. Any idea why that causes it to bug out?

Yeah having anything under accessibility causes so many issues. You'll also notice when your watching videos on the stock video player that the notification bar won't go away unless you change orientation.

Well shoot.. Guess that explains why the phone sometimes speaks out actions I'm doing sometimes, like selecting multiple photos and what not.

Guess I'm just going to have switch to QuickPic or some other Gallery for now. Thanks for the help & clarification!

Quickpic is awesome, I always use it as my gallery on all my phones. I tried using the stock gallery on the S4 but it just seems way slower than Quickpic. Also for that voice that calls out your actions, if you are rooted you can use titanium backup to freeze google text-to-speech and Samsung text-to-speech and it should get rid of it.

You can see the extra folder on the bottom right
I remember on the evo 3d you could go to settings and make sure they didn't appear I don't see that on here ... and I get tired of erasing them. Also I don't want an app for gallery stock one is fine for me

I'm assuming you mean bottom left, not bottom right?
What are the images of? And they're not deletable from the Gallery app itself?
If you connect to a PC and dive into the folders, can you find where they are and delete them?

I use QuickPic instead of the Gallery, its much better and faster imo. QP has the option to hide folders you dont want showing up. If you are willing to try QP instead of Gallery that will solve your problem, but I dont know how to hide folders in the Gallery app.

Really hate using an extra app when there is a stock one for that already but I ma try it... looks clean and fast just the loading sometimes ... will try it tho

In the root of the directory where the images are make a file called ".nomedia", clear the data on the gallery app and images will not come back.

[App Recommendation] NotifierPro Plus

I really like NotifierPro Plus, so I thought I'd share. For $2.63 this app is a must have imo, I've been using it for a couple days now and absolutely love it. There is a free version available as well. It's very customizable and works great on my Galaxy Nexus. It has a bunch of themes, most are free, but for an extra $1.30 you can get this really sweet ICS theme. Hope you enjoy the app as much as I do.
I have it.. but $1.30 is a lil steep for just a theme.. I love it too
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
But when it's something you use every day and you get to keep forever its really not steep. You pay that much or more for a 20oz drink that you don't enjoy for more than an hour. I mean, if it's not a theme your into I understand, but I couldnt ask for a better one.
I have the paid version and its great check out my review
+ 1!

I only wish there was an option to disable the banners completely when the screen is on.
Works great!!

It would be nice if it allowed you to quick reply to text messages
Reminds me a lot of iOS which is praticly what it is . Not bad

I have enough with a company iPhone that I have to carry everyday day. The worst phone, the worst os, all is bad with apple. So if it remember me iOs I pass on this one.
To me its not about if it looks like Android or iOS. When I am wearing my glasses I can usually read whats in my notif bar just fine, but when I am not I have a hard time doing that. So making the text bigger for a few seconds is a big advantage for me. Throw some sweet looking themes and complete customization per app and I'm sold. It may be a feature similar or even adapted from iOS, but you can tell from my screenshot it looks much better than iOS and to me it just feels like it should have been there all along..

It seems the banner is cut off for Samsung Note and S2. It falls behind any wallpaper. Any idea?
I'd use this if the technology was there to allow it to remove the notifications from the status bar. But alas, it isn't possible. =/

Is there any way to disable the default notification for missed calls? This would make NotifierPro perfect!
Right now I disabled default notifications for all apps I use (SMS, Mail, PlayStore, GMail, G+, ...), but it seems the Phone app doesn't have any options to disable notifications, or did I miss something?

[Q] How to hide the side-bar in the Gallery?

Is there a way to hide the sidebar of the Gallery when you are browsing pictures in the Album?

No. You have to use quickpic. But you loose the air view functionality. ..

Bummer ! I enjoy moving pictures easily between Albums in the stock Gallery. Maybe they need to have this functionality in the next upgrade.
I wonder if if anyone is seeing a bug similar to what I'm seeing. On this same gallery side bar when I attempt to scroll up and down the list keeps resetting itself back to the last selected folder. If I'm doing something wrong then please tell me as this is very frustrating!
Swipe left and the sidebar will be hidden. Dunno if that is a new addition or not.
I did not know that thank you.
Neither did I til last night. Just happened to slide my finger left and the sidebar disappeared. I wonder what other stuff I can do that I don't know about yet

It's work fine for me: Good:
How do you get it back? I actually liked the gallery side bar
It worked for me. I wonder why it only works for some and not for others.
It sounds like it. Swiping to the left does not restore the album sidebar I want too.
It works. Just needs a little practice.
Swipe on entire screen to the left to hide it.
Swipe similarly to the right to bring it back.

Mine works perfectly. Can you post an example of what yours looks like? Or is it just when viewing it in sphere mode?

The photo does not render correctly. There is times where the photo is cut off on the bottom. There is also times where the squares do not match up and it looks like an unfinished puzzle.
http://d-h.st/2zj this is the version im using (just in case itz a version issue).
The photos are normally cut off at the top and bottom leaving two black circles if thats what you mean.

It just doesn't render correctly on my Note 2. It is a UK version so I don't know if the phone is the problem or not. Also, sometimes there is purple spots on the panorama.

I'm getting a weird thing where it seems like two of the images are swapped or upside down or something
You need 4.2 gallery to view the pics not the Samsung default gallery

New Device Playing Background Music

Just got this device and when it sits for a while it begins plays music in the background...puts you in mind of being at a Spa...has water sounds to it. It is the same sound just looping over and over.
I have looked at every setting and options and I cannot find the sound source at all. Does not do it all the time but I cannot track where this sound comes from when device sits for a while...
Sounds crazy but anyone have this experience on new 4.4.2 device?

Since you just got this device I take it you're not rooted. Otherwise you could install App Ops via xposed installer and go to Media and control what apps are using Media function of your device (Screenshot is from my Nexus 4 but its the same for the Note, I was too lazy to go get it )
Are you sure there's no alarm apps, or maybe live wallpapers? Or maybe if you side loaded an apk then maybe it could be that. I'm just pulling at straws.
Post a list of installed user apps and I'll take a look and see if anything seems out of the ordinary :good:

Thx...I am rooted and opened Xposed and loaded Apps OPS...so I need wait until sound comes back and look under Media to see if something is there?
This is a nice tool iHeart ready always pop-up in notification area when I have not used for days...wonder can this app kill that as well?

Yeah, you should see it running under media and then you can just block access.
The same applies to the other heart app you were taking about. You can also block notifications in App Ops. There's also another way to do this. Go to settings-apps, select the Heart one and press the 'show notifications button'
