Great, simple app. Bought premium version after day's use.
Suggestions
1/ option to change font (also bold, italics,...)
2/ delivery report check in outgoing sms
3/ mms, of course
Looking forward to see this app developing. Keep it up! And thanks!

Here my feedback:
a. This app is good, has a clear interface and is very simple to use;
b. If there was a PIN to protect SMS it would great.
c. The limit of characters in SMS is 60, right? If there was an option to choose the limit... My provider offers 160 characters.
d. The option to choose themes is blocked, it will be great if user can choose only one.

SMS Bubble Threading (iPhone style)

Is there a .cab file out there somewhere, much like htctoucher's m2d theme? I've found some good keyboards upon my last request, and it seems everyone has been coming out of the woods with great help.
my next quest is the iphone style sms text threading, has anyone been able to create this app yet? htctoucher has created it for a diamond, but not for HD. (if someone is willing to take on this task, I think silver and blue would be great colors for the bubbles)
This forum has so many great tools for the HD, I'm just looking for a little more user-friendly experience with my blackstone beast.
Thanks!!
I wish too!
http://www.pocketcm.com/contact.php
includes threaded sms.
ya I've seen that one, the threaded sms texting on that isn't iPhone style that I'm looking for tho.
Have you tried Vito SMS-chat?
Below is iPhone threaded sms :-

Lol, yes it is. It's just a matter of creating a skin. You could definitely give it a go yourself! I just learned fully the last few days on how to theme pocketcm keyboard (best keyboard ever and free! Tho plz donate, it / he rocks).
Anyway...there are many iPhone themes for pocketcm...just not any for WVGA..YET! I imagine htctoucher will have it going in no time, he has just been waiting for a stable enough version.
Give it a go!

200 SMS Limit and Contact Photos

So it looks like you cant have more than 200 text messages per contact? How can I change that?
Is there a way to disable the pictures in the contact list or message window? I'm not cool enough to have a picture of my friends.

1 - Where in the world are you getting that from, I have threads with 1000+
2 - use handcent
I'd post a screenshot if I knew how.
But under Messages, Press Menu and go to Settings.
Says, "Test message limit 200 messages per conversation"

Figured out that if you click "Delete old messages" then it enables those other options, so there is no cap by default, I was confused. I'm coming from an iPhone so I'm so used to have zero control and having my phone lock me out of this or that, so I need to learn to trust my phone again.

Exactly. And your coming from an IPhone, i forgive you
there is a limit per conversation
- 5000 SMS
- 500 MMS
google voice = no limit
I have both Google Voice and Sprint, and 5000 is an ok limit for me. I love Android. So much freedom!

Sending contacts using SMS

Is there a way to bring up a contact on my phone and then forward that using SMS? I have searched everything I can think of and haven't been able to find an answer. My wife uses me as her personal 411 and I can't tell you how much it would mean to me if I could bring up a contact she's asking about then choose and option to SMS send it to her.
Help please, if you have any suggestions.
you mean send phone number (contact) with sms ?
Yes.. exactly!
Andy... Where is the app for that screenshot?
Major warning guys
Do not click on the picture above as it sends you to a site that is nastily infected... just in case this only happened for me, please do not hesitate to delete this message... anyrate, just a friendly warning...
Also, yes please, tell me where we can get this extension!
This is a feature in WM 6.5 (or maybe it's 6.5.x) anyway - I know I can send a contact (or part of a contact, you get to select what exactly) by SMS or Beam (infra-red if you still have an irda port)
I can't screen shot (don't have the app installed) but have tested it - it works great between WM devices, however sending info to an iPhone results in absolutely nothing happening - so must be a WM native thing?
Aj
Im also lookin for something like this i guess i got into the habot after i used a nokia when my old phone was on the fritz i could send a contacts details to anybody and they would recieve it no problem. While my TP2 which is supposed to be such a "smart" phone cant send a contacts details??
try this, it's not perfect though:

[Q] Messaging App

Hey is there a way to modify the default messaging app so it won't break up messages after 160 characters? I don't text folks on CDMA networks so that limitation is dumb and makes my messag es look stupid . I really use the individual themes feature on the default app (prevents me from texts to the wrong person) so I'm open to suggestions of another messaging app (with individual themes too) that I can use to replace it. But if it could be hacked to make the 160 character break up stop I'd prefer doing that first.

I think you can change a setting to send messages longer than 160 characters as MMS instead of SMS.
What Semantic says. You can find it in the MMS section of settings. Found an interesting setting while I was looking for myself. You'll see it in the screenshot at the bottom...

Hi guys! After a loooong time of inactivity I'm back with a new app.
Actually, the app was launched almost 3 months ago but only in Italy (with 5000+ downlods since then); now I'm trying to deliver it also in USA.
Basically this app let you know who called you when your phone is busy in another call or offline. It works by instructing your mobile provider to forward calls to my server that reject the call and send the notification to your phone through Internet.
The main advatanges of this approach are:
1) many mobile providers charge you to provide a similar service based on SMS. My app provide the same service almost for free
2) my app logs missed calls in the native call history of your Android phone. A lot more convenient then SMS
The problem is that I need a local server in each country I want to provide my service, because call forwarding is only allowed to local numbers. So I bought another server in USA but I can't test it from Italy (my country!). I want to do some beta testing before opening it to the public.
So.... do you live in the USA and do you want to help me? Great!
1) Download the app and test it. Report feedbacks here on XDA or at [email protected] to let me know everything works as expected
2) If there are issues with the service please always provide your mobile provider (ex. AT&T)
3) Please tell me if there are issues with the translation (I'm italian and my english is not so good)
Your help is VERY appreciated! THANK YOU!
