Haven't tried yet but I would like to ask you one thing.
You tried to make animation from video? (let's say YouTube video)
Because if I make animation from rendered video, I always get white flashes between loops.
But if I make my one pictures, from PhotoShop (video which I render to png's, not to video format) - it's o.k.
It's soooo frustrating, can't find any solution.
I saw few posts related to this problem (I'm not the only one) but no answer.
One guy suggested that I should try to set FPS to lower value - but that doesn't help.
I have few animations and I find a way to include sound in it but they all flash white so it's useless....
Tnx mate, I'll try animation

U should keep on trying bro
i used Sony vegas, for converting and rendering. and boot animation factory for making the zip file.
yeah i used a video file. It took me some hours ( half day) to make this work. i got many errors while making this one.
i got white flashed & some times no boot animation just black screen.
i failed in adding sound, i have to learn more. and there are few steps that has to be done correctly, when converting a video to boot animation and to play sound while boot.
now i know to do that , this boot animation is the result.
i intend to learn from someone, if they have helping mentality.
btw fps settings changes the speed in which the animation runs. depending on the animation we can increase the fps.
in this im using 20. if u use 30 the animation will be faster. thats what i understood from researching. correct me if im wrong.
next is adding sound and text animations on video etc, thats what im thinking to do next.

Have rain sounds?
Edit : tried it,white screen appears more than 3x while playing the animation...

XS, this is tablet.
For sound you just have to rename mp3 to bootanim.mp3 and put it in a root of bootanimation.zip (and remember to set compression method to storage)
You are right for FPS, that's, of course, how you speed up animation.
Check my animation, I made a few.

Now I don't have time but I'll continue soon.
Working in Adobe After Effects.

[REQ] Shutdown animations and sounds for DK28?

I found a few nice boot animations and sounds but Im having a hard time finding shutdown ones. They usually come with my roms, but on the latest one it has the boring stock Sprint shutdown animation.
Anyone have any good shutdown animations and sounds they could point me to?
Thanks
If I'm not mistaken you can get a short sound clip that you like and push it to /system/media/audio/ui. Make sure you rename it to Power_off.ogg and that should work for you.

I didnt know that- thanks!
Here's a couple shutdown ani's I came up with, one is r2d2 and its very short, the other is the android scribble but in reverse. Both of these use the old update-script from before cwm3 so if it won't flash for you, unzip the file and pull out the shutdown folder and replace the stock one in system/media/video with a file manager.

Ok the exact place to put it is /system/media/audio/ui. It has to be named Power_off.ogg so it might have to be an ogg audio file.

Thanks I will try these when I get home.
Anyone know how to change the power on sound?
I went to system/etc and swapped in a new PowerOn.wav file but it wont play on startup. Is there a size limit when doing this?
Know I'm bumping a old thread but does anyone know what controls the play length of the boot up sound? I made a clip like 20 seconds long but it only plays til the phone vibrates at start up (seems like 5 seconds or so) and that is when it cuts out.
Is this something to do with Android starting up or is there a way to alter the play length?
I was told 7 seconds is the max with the current kernel. I tried a .wav sound with 14 seconds and it just cuts off at 7.

I use clips from here

[Q] FF7 Sound package?

I am kind of suck if the default sound theme. Does anyone have a sound package that would basically make all of my sounds final fantasy menu navigation sounds? For keyboard, opening and closing of menus and such.
If not. How would I do it on my own? Any good tutorials that could guide me on "skinning" the default sounds? They are boring. Lol.

FF7??
OH! Final Fantasy VII!
Indeed it is possible. If you were to download your favorite ROM and open it up you could navigate system/media/audio/ui and see all of the system ui sounds. the TW_Waterdrop is the audible sound you get when you navigate with the touchscreen.
You can also change low battery sounds, key presses, the dialer, etc.
You would need to get the audio files you want and convert them to .ogg format(I'm assuming). Then replace the stock audio with yours.
Have fun!
Thank you for the speedy reply, sir. I figured it would be something semi-simple. Just did not know if directly modifying system sounds like that would cause a lot of problems.
Guess it is off to my favorite torrent site to see if there are any good audio packages out there.

I'd use this. I love their menu sounds and I always look for a ring that sounds like the phone to get other characters.
I love FF7, a big fan. But ffs, I'd be annoyed as hell if the sounds were long.. good lord, can you imagin hearing the fanfare a billion times each time you decide to open the Dialer? LOL

I more or less just want the menu navigation sounds. If I get something made up, I will definitely post it here.

Like the menu select beep, the jingly sound when you make a selection and the phone ring to call new characters. I wouldn't even mind the sword spin music when you erin a fight.

Final Fantasy soundboards
I found the developer's website who had the FFXI soundboard on the market at one point. He has FF7 there too. You can long press on each song/effect and save as ringtone, notification and/or alarm.
Enjoy.
I'm going to work on making some of them into system sounds in a flashable zip. I just need to map out what each one does.
Root, if you get it packaged up, I will love you forever (like a already do!)! I am just so busy lately, I barely have time to troll XDA, much less compile a sound package. I see someone else was requesting a Final Fantasy VII theme. Maybe you two could work together?

Mine is a little different than this one, I guess I was not the first to think that this would make a cool looking boot!!
Edit: I just tried this animation, it does not scale to full 720p. If you want it to fill the screen you must edit the txt file, also seems a little slower than the one I created, although it seems to be a little bit better quality than mine.
Where do you push the sound file to

You either uploaded the wrong file or posted the wrong link because it was NOT the animation from the youtube video. This is the animation from the original Nexus.

I have not figured that one out yet. I think it has something to do with the Rom you are using. I thought I read somewhere that it needs to be with-in the framework-res file in order for the sound to play but I am not a developer so I can't say for sure.

I tried to make it a little bigger as I enlarged the text to 150%. As for the resolution I could not find a high res photo of the logo, so I had to go with the one I found on the Wiki page.

I've downloaded that video and made it as boot animation but it is meant to be seen on a 3d screen and gets blurry when the explosion happens due to the 3d affects. i can upload it if you want to try it. its not the whole video just right up to the bolt after explosion.

[MOD][Boot Animation]Nexus 7 Particles (New) in FHD

:: What's this? ::
I always thought that Wrixituz Particles boot animation for the original Nexus 7 was one of the most amazing boot animations, and I still use it because it's so awesome! :good:
This is a conversion for the new Nexus 7, with a modified desc.txt to upscale to full HD (and it looks about the same as on the old N7).
:: Video preview ::
:: Download ::
EDIT: I've size optimized the animation by using a delay in the desc.txt file, and fixed the image numbering.
LINK
:: Installation ::
Drop the bootanimation.zip in your /data/local folder, and it should be working on next bootup!
You might have to set your permissions for bootanimation.zip to rw-r--r-- in order to get it working.
:: Credits ::
All credits go to Wrixituz for the original animation - this is merely a minor modification to make it work on N7 FHD (or any other device with a 1200x1920 resolution for that matter).
And thanks to thor6577 for his boot animation thread, which partly inspired me to do this conversion.
Enjoy
:: Bonus ::
Same boot animation for the Nexus 4, also size optimized.

Hi Cinco
When I use it, it uses the full animation - it sounds like you only get the first part for some reason. Do you have a similar problem with other boot animations, and do other people experience the same problem?
Thanks, Artur
I myself finding the same thing. It boots up, then about 2 secs goes black, then about 3 secs it boots up for me

Do another custom boot animation with more than one part in the zip file work for you? I have an idea for an optimization to this boot animation, I'll let you know when I update it, and would appreciate feedback on it.

I'll have a look at this during the weekend - I'm away on a full week course these days, and will be home in the weekend - then I'll try to optimize it a bit, would be interesting to see if it works out...
Wooo nice one. :good:
Now I've optimized the animation by reducing the file size, and I've also fixed the image numbering.
If it still only shows the first part of the animation, I have no clue what might be the cause of that - I can tell that it works perfectly for me.
I've also added an optimized version of the same boot animation in 768x1280 for the N4.

For some reason some of my personal boot animations just play the first part, and I can't figure out why. The only way to solve this is reducing the image size or not using greater number of images in one loop. I'm still on it, because I've seen boot animations with bigger image size and in greater numbers that still plays just fine.
If you find a way please tell me as I'm in the same boat.
By the way, yours work fine in my device.

Sorry - I didn't understand that - do you still experience the error? I really can't do anything about it, since the animation is working perfectly for me, as well as a couple of others (and I'm following the default format for boot animations). I have no idea why for some people it shows a black screen after the first loop, sorry...
