To Buy or not HTC One X - HTC One X

Hi can you all help me telling that should I buy this phone or not. I have read reviews and got mixed some saying good some saying bad.. please please help me. My other option is XPeria SP only.

Asking it in a hox forum !
Try the phones in a store and decide for yourself.... That's all i can say. Its all down to personal choice.

i prefer HOX but hofs is right it personal prefrence

I got the HTC ONE X+
great phone with great performance, nice camera, and good battery life.
Soon to get android 4.2.2 and Sense 5/5.1: D
I recommend One X+ over One X

It is personal preference, i bought a HTC one x a year ago. A month ago swapped it with a Galaxy s3 but came back to one x because of the screen en awessome build quality. Galaxy felt like plastic. Now i know i won't ever buy a Samsung.
If i would recommend you a phone it would be the Nexus 4 or HTC one.

Well, you know - at the end it is your decision.
But - just for your information - I came from DHD ( let`s say a "brother"of Incredible S) and I am very satisfy from my new One X.
Of course there are some disadvantages - eg. locked system end such, but I believe that sooner or latter we will have fully unlocked device and we will use it as we want.
So, in summary - my advice is: GO FOR IT!
Regards.
When i bought my One X I thought it was the best phone in the market but now I would say I'd rather go with Nexus 4

Just buy it and install Android Revolution HD rom - the most popular rom for HTC ONE X. Link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603

Hi there, I think you should keep your incredible s and your hard earned cash. Buying a new phone will mot make you a better person or make you any happier.
You can't help it though....your gonna get one!
Now I would prefer nexus 4, because it is little bit better and much cheaper... Google kills with price

Ya you should buy it.. totally worth it and got some great looking roms.. I'm using ARHD and it rocks \\m//. Lots of custom kernel and mods.
Probably if you want a One X you should get a One X+ at this time.

[Q] coming from galaxy nexus ... is it worth it?

Hi all,
I'm an HTC fan, I love design and material first of all, I like Sense UI but I also like stock UI and AOSP roms ...
I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus and previously I owned the legendary Nexus One ... I love Nexus line and I really would love a new HTC nexus device ... but it seems we won't see one for a long time ...
Well, I'm searching for an HTC One X and I would like to spend around 400$ (you can find some offer on Amazon) ...
Someone here owned both a Galaxy Nexus and a One X and can give me some opinion? Is it worth to switch from GN to HOX??
How is developer community? Are there fully working 4.2.1 AOSP roms? I looked at developer section and seems quite active ... do you think I will miss ParanodiAndroid ROM or other fantastic ROM (like Xylon) available for the GNexus??
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
thats easy...

$350 for a Nexus 4 (if you can get it) can't be beat. Unless you need OTG then I'd go Nexus 4.

I can't get Nexus 4, not available in my country... Anyway I'm not impressed by LG... HTC One X design I think is the best yet and I don't need 2 GB of RAM ...

Hi guys,
After few months I'm still attracted by the One X. I'm trading one on eBay for about 300€ used but in excellent conditions... I'm not impressed at all from new devices neither the Moto x nor HTC one and Galaxy S4 ... I still consider the one x the best in terms of design and materials ... And I still think that 1gb ram is enough for every kind of usage (I'm not a fanatic of mobile games) ...
So I'll be soon member of the HTC one x community that seems again one of the more lively ...

ViperX

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Can someone please tell me it isn't true.
Just read it myself, grim news indeed but that's all she wrote I guess. To be fair to rich is there any more he could do with this Rom? He has took it so far and I thank him for that. Time to look for a new device as future updates either official or Dev will dry up
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
True about the Rom and development, it's definitely a beauty. We owe rich and the whole team a big thank you, so thank you
I am also very said as viperx was the very first rom I ever flashed and I think the other roms will never have even near as many features as viperx. :crying:
I just hope maybe other dev will take the project from where Rich left it and provide a few more updates.

Sad moment for hox users, for me best rom, we lost also good kernel devs....this device is dying faster than his older brother Sensation...
Yeah, even the desire had longer support than this. Guess I will wait til the new year and see what comes outs. No point buying the one when they will announce a new flagship early next year

Well, maybe some dev will support viperx we will have to wait.
And i can't afford htc one, or htc m8, i am happy that i bought hox, it was a nice upgrade from Sensation, so i will settle down, see what will happen with viperx.... :S
I can't afford it either, but I could get one on contractb as my bro can get me 30% of the bill. I love my one x with viperx just feel left down by official support

HOX isnt lucky at all , once you take a look at its older brother you ca understand what I mean , if you check the HTC Sensation you will find it has much more suport
there you will have a nearly stable KITKAT ROM, not only one 1 kitkat ROM but 3 Kitakat ROM
developers there has been able to write a whole new kernel for Sensation from scratch
Team Venom over there has been able to port Sense5 to Sensation , now my sensation can run 7 different versions of Sense
Our HOX is still young but sadly there isnt much of developer love

It's not because of devs, it's because of tegra, nvidia, htc....tegra is crap for porting, nvidia is bad for drivers, and for htc is hard to relase kernel source code for nearly 4 months....
My other device with is desire hd still got MORE support than my beloved hox(and it's like 4 years old now? :/)... can't believe that the phone "died" in development for only around year and a half activity in that section. Every dev moved out from the phone like it's some kind of epic fail. Maybe it is, dunno anymore... ;(
It's not hard to understand, the phone itself is no epic fail. To me a great phone. The restrictions in hardware make it very hard to port software easy. That's the main reason !
I'll miss viper. I guess its time I go back to good ole stock.
If anyone skilled here can port ViperX+ rom to ONE X, than me and monarx could continue support to ViperX as we would be updating same base, and we would make common rom for both phone's.
Thats just an idea, i have no actual phone to try it my self, even phones are very similar it could be tricky to do it, but no impossible.
Viper Thread shouldn't be blocked, it will be the best rom for months even discontinued, if it's blocked it will die in days

No because he clearly said that they have searched for another capable dev that fits the team but without succes. Jan is to busy developing for the one.
The best thing if you want rom support is to sell the hox and by a nexus 4. Just saying

[Q] Battery life contrary to popular belief

I'm from the N5 forums and now I planned to get a secondary device(despite already owning a Nexus S).
Before this I used th LG Optimus 4X and boy I do miss Tegra 3, although so I heard the battery life is more or less the same as LGO4X.
Anybody mind posting some pictures of their SOT?
Pretty sure if the SOT is not worse than the O4X I might be getting a OneX because 1. Its HTC 2. Its Tegra 3. It haz sense 5(probably 5+) 4. Viper ROM!!!
Thanks, and do leave any comments about this device as well.
Your second point
#2 it has tegra : tegra is crap, do not go for this device because it has tegra. And sense 5+ ....don't count on it !
I would say go for a second hand ONE........

One mini has smaller screen than the one x. 4.3" 720p
Sent from my HTC One X
I would still go for the One X. Mainly because of the better camera, processor and the screen size, boomsound isn't necessary for me right now
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
I would go for one mini, its a newer phone and just better user expirience using it, and if you are not happy, just sell it and buy one x again with some spare money left, no brainer for me.
Just from the POV of software updates, the One Mini is a much better choice. As we all know the HOX has been abandoned.

But only a small bit. In the future, a new version of android will come out, only for it to be impossible to port it to this phone because of its CPU and the lack of kernel sources because Nvidia ditched it.

It's correct, but in past there are much devices, wich are no longer supported so much after HTC kill official update way. And for Users who love the Sense UI (e. g. me) it is better to go to a new phone from HTC to get updates.
BTW: i think it is better to wait a little bit (a few months) with buying a new HTC Phone. If HTC launched new One M8 phone, the old M7 will be cheaper.
