[ROM][PORT] - SlimStockRom - Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 - i9505 MF8 to M919 (6-26-2013) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

*** SlimStockRom ***
Do you want to flash a STOCK deodexed, debloated, zipaligned and rooted
International i9505 modified rom ported for the M919 T-Mobile phones?
This is a very FAST slim rom, approximately 1GB.
It has professional built-in call recording which works!
This rom has all the Samsung Touchwiz bells and whistles which
makes the Samsung Galaxy S4 truly one of a kind smartphone.
This rom is NOT themed so you will need to provide your own favorite theme.
This rom is based on the International MF8 i9505 Galaxy S4 Jellybean 4.2.2 Touchwiz rom.
You may ask, why no screen shots?
Here is the answer: This is a STOCK based rom without a theme.

--- Please note: Wifi WORKS Perfectly but there is NO Wifi Calling ---

Be sure you make a nandroid backup before flashing any roms, mods or themes
Complete wipe required including Factory Reset, Wipe System, Wipe Cache & Wipe Dalvik Cache
I did not develop this rom, I ported it from the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 MF8 stock cwm rom.
Unlike many other i9505 roms which you may have flashed, the Wifi in this one will work
properly right out of the box without needing to flash anything else.
Please use TWRP or CWM recovery for best results.

Just in case I need this.

Many thanks man.

Clarification Please!
Misterjunky,
Can you please clarify one thing for me? Your note says that ROM does not have wifi-calling but then later on you mention that "the Wifi in this one will work properly right out of the box without needing to flash anything else."
Thanks and yes I clicked it.

Woah....super! Thx mister this looks sexy :good::good:

Oh snap, I was waiting to see a new thread on the forum since you did all the hard work of porting kernels yesterday! Good find man and I will definitely check this out soon!!

The WIFI is working perfectly in this rom,
but there is NO Wifi calling feature in this rom.
Wifi calling and connecting to standard WIFI for the internet and play store are two separate things.
It does have professional Call Recording built-in to the stock phone screens.

I just hope that the file hosting of this rom is not going to have problems.
What I would really need is a much better large file FREE fast hosting service. LOL

Thanks. This is the exact ROM I was looking for.

does this change the partitions so that there is more internal space available?

No don't think that's possible.

This does not change partitions any more than any other roms.
However this rom is approx. 500MB smaller than most other roms in these threads.
It's only about 1GB compared with most others which are 1.5GB in size so you will
have approx. 500MB more free space on your internal sdcard.
(500MB is enough for an awful LOT of games or mp3's )
Good luck!

Hi there evil welcome to the thread, as it says in the OP I only ported the rom and did NOT create it myself unfortunately.
But who knows, in a couple more years I might learn enough about these roms to be able to make
my own beautiful creations and perhaps even include "wifi calling" with a lot of help from you!
In any case this is a good start, everyone has to start some where.

Hey MisterJunky, Do you have a link to the original rom you ported?
Thanks

Well since this is just a debloated rom, can we have a list of what was debloated? If theres anything we wishes to add...we just grab the bloat from somewhere else?

oh, another 2.1 sense rom cooked up.
Well it's good to see that your release notes are clear and professional!
I'll try this out. Are you certain that you've thanked (and asked permission of) everyone who's work you used though? I'm certain you based your deodexed content off of an existing rom, it would just be too much work to do yourself again, but I think a thank you could maybe go out to that source as well. Edit: Maybe the kitchen supplies you with the stuff I'm asking about, so you probably already did thank the right person if that's true
cheers, looking forward to trying it out
edit: wait, where's the rom itself LoL. I must have missed something Is this a vaporware rom? ;-)

u have already been rude -.-" no one ask you to try it.
you can don't even click in & read it as this post topic was ROM 2.1 sense.
as for all 2.1 rom out there having an issue that people didn't notice or don't even bother as they don't use it. so i gave up asking.
it's the call during BT media, when there is a call in while you listening to mp3 it will either dc the BT or you unable to hear or the person who call you unable to hear you through BT handfree mic. only able to use your mobile mic to talk. it's kinda wierd while you using BT handfree & hold your phone & talk in public.
i've been asking about this issue on a lot rom build post but people seem to ignore me as if my post/reply was not there at all.
as for this rom i have not try yet. hopefully it solve my problem.

[DEV] Stock System Fully De-Odexed

Well I was going to create a ROM for the Nitro HD but my phone decided it wanted to hardware brick when I battery pulled, so that plans out the window for a while. While my ROM did work for half of the beta testers without issue, I can't say its safe enough for everyone to flash.
Anyways, this is NOT for flashing. This is for devs to create ROMs from. Its the /system of the Nitro HD on AT&T fully de-odexed. All I ask for anyone using this to please credit me.
This includes all stock applications and bloat, except Google Maps, and Polaris Office. You can pull Maps from Market or another ROM, its universal. I didn't try too hard to de-odex Polaris, theres better office apps anyways.

AGAIN, DO NOT FLASH ON YOUR PHONE. ITS ONLY FOR DEVS TO CREATE ROMS
Wonderful. Now devs and themers can do their thing. Nice job.

I don't have have a straightforward (simple) answer to that. Some of the frameworks have dependencies, you just need to make sure they are included. I spent time figuring out what dependencies were needed.
If your building a ROM for the LG Nitro HD on AT&T, your welcome to use the files from the first post. All I ask for is a one line credit.

Note 2 JellyBean Spell checker *FIX* !!

I have been searching high and low for this mod and I have not found a solution until I Xda member : dwitherell offered to help. All the credits goes to him. As many of you may know, Samsung, in its grand wisdom, decided to remove the native ICS+ spell checking function (red lines under misspelled words AFTER you typed) from all their Touchwiz roms. This fix restores this function.
dwitherell:
"The files in that zip are pretty specific to our phone though, so I'm not sure how many would be interested. The two files that were modified were SecSettings.apk (the apk that has all the options and what not you see when you go into Settings) and framework2.jar - both of these tend to be pretty phone and even base build specific - which is why I made sure to use the UVALK8 stuff for this for you. That being said, most of the differences between UVALK8 and UVALL4 are elsewhere so I would imagine this to work on the newer T-Mobile base."
I am currently running this rom but other UVALK8 based roms should work:

GS4 System dump [DEODEXED][ROOTED] needs work

Galaxy S4 System Dump
Deodexed and Rooted
I have deodexed the Sammobile system dump for the Galaxy S4. This is not a functioning ROM, but is the basis for creating one. It has all of the pieces to create a ROM, they just need to be tweaked. Everything in the META-INF folder is not functional and their is no boot.img. These are all problems that can be worked out reasonably quickly, but since I do not own a SGS4 and do not plan on getting one, I will leave that up to the future Devs for the SGS4.
Again, do not flash. It is not functional, but here
Remember, this is not flashable to any device, it is for dev use only. But I will state that the new Svoice app will work on non-touchwiz ROMS.
Download: AndroidFileHost (md5: e79f7621f1c61e601b83b002fcff7b14), MIRROR 1
Thanks Dsixda for the Kitchen and Sammobile for the System Dump.
Why this size is very huge..
Idk, it happened when I deodexed the apk/jars in system/apps and system/framework folders.
Edit: This may be caused by the 1.1 GB system/apps folder that Samsung included. A few others that have continued from where I left this have removed a large chunk of system apps. But even with the system apps hollowed out, remember, this is TouchWiz, so the ROM size itself will always be large.
Can anyone just give me an official kernel of S4??

I do not believe there is one available at the moment. All that has been released is a system dump. But I can take a look into it for you. I'll pm you if I find anything.
How can I port samsung Galaxy s4 accuweather widget for my device? My device is the Samsung Galaxy W with android 4.2.2 and touchwix ux nature! Please, answer!
Are you on stock 4.2.2? Cause as far as I know, the Accuweather widget is Twframework dependent, so it won't work on stock android anyway.
Edit: I'm working on a way to make Touchwiz widegets, apps, etc. work on stock android. Since I am new to the development scene, it may take a while, but I am determined to get this working. So add me on here and I'll PM you when I start working on it.

EDIT: Im also setting up the device tree and require the build.prop. if anyone with the systemdump could just pm me its details?

Well generally it is the Accuweatherwidget.apk or something similar. I am not 100% sure of the name, bu i'm pretty sure that it is AccuweatherPhone2013.apk
Hopefully the information I am giving you is correct.

I have posted a request for a zip file containing an AOSP Lockscreen to run on touchwiz base GS3 T999. I have not been helped and feel really left out. I really like XDA and have read and learned some new things regarding my G3S T Mobile. Came across some forums about the modded AOSP screen zip file but not for my phone. Could someone, PLEASE, PLEASE help me to find one or even make one if that's not to much to ask?
Thank you in advance,
mr wizard

Can you link me to the request thread in question ? I will take a look. Also please link to the Zip file that's not for your phone.
As far as Lock Screens go, AOSP and Touchwiz are not compatible. Having said that, Most of AOSP roms prefer Dash Clock or other such Lock Screen Widgets. If you really are looking for AOSP experience on Touchwiz, you can try Magic Locker app in play store.
He might want to look into Xposed modules too. I know they have a mod for it, but he has to learn how to use Xposed first.
Also, I really want to say that I remembered seeing an AOSP lockscreen zip in Themes and Apps, but it might have been in another forum section since I bounce around so much. I'll look for it in the next few days or so.
If all else fails, flash an AOSP ROM and theme it TWiz style. That's a sure fire way to get best of both worlds *cough* unless you still want wifi calling and other TWiz features will be lost *cough*.

I don't think he wants to leave Touchwiz. If he is wiling to then there's a lot of choices out there. Me, I'd use this app if I am on Touchwiz.

Thanks guys for the response! I am using Dandroid and love it but eventually I want to go back to using stock rom. This Dandroid is running AOSP Screen with Touchwiz and there are some forums showing AOSP screen zips for some Galaxies on T mobile but not for the GS3. I did try some of the zips but it didn't do anything, and I was trying to reply to a person who adjusted one to work for a Galaxy but he didn't respond back and that is why I was trying to post some new ones to get some help.
Thanks,

I don't know how to complie decomplie but I could learn. I am using a macbook running os x. And if I search the forums which I did for a AOSP lockscreen for TMO GS3 I get some hits but nothing pertaining to my exact phone model. But there are some that are made for the Note I thought.I am also using Xposed App but didn't find a module for a AOSP Screen, per the prior post from
Perseus71. Let me know
Mr Wizard
What about this one?
[MOD][Xposed] AOSP Lockscreen even though it's from the Note II section, someone got it to work on their SGS3 (Int'l variant though). Seems to work on multiple devices and multiple OEMs too.

The AOSP lockscreen in Dandroid came from S3Rx. If you want the stock look, use S3Rx, not Dandroid.
This is a job for a custom ROM. I feel like you're trying to reinvent the wheel.

+1. If you are using Dandroid, Ask the developer, they'd know of compatibility better.

You need to install the apk from
http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk
After done, run that app. That's actually an installer which will do its own process. Follow through and then finish it. Once that's finished, try th AOSP apk you just now installed.

Yea MAN! It works on my stock 4.1.2. Although I have a few more questions if you don't mind? 1st the one AOSP I was using on the DANDROID had a way to access on the screen options to add more apps in the lock screen. I wonder if this can be done? And 2nd do you know if this will work when I update to 4.3 stock when it comes out? Just some thoughts but again thanks a million!!!

The On screen options to add more is called Lock Screen Widgets. That's pure AOSP feature. Yes go right ahead. It will work just fine. If you come across other modules that use Xposed apps then they too will work for you.
I do believe for 4.3, the Xposed Apps APK you just got will be updated. You will then have to get the latest apk. Or perhaps you could be lucky and it is already updated.

Cool thanks. Still a little confused though. The module is active and working AOSP Lockscreen 1.1 but there is no options listed to change apps on the screen. I checked in the settings, lock screen, lock screen options and screen lock but there is nothing. No widget either to allow for customizing apps. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
