TSF Shell Force Closes - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is anyone else using TSF Shell launcher? If so, have you encountered random and repeated force closes? How did you fix it? I emailed TSF Shell support but haven't gotten a response yet. I do know that it can take some time to fix an issue, but I was inquiring about any potential workarounds. Ive received this error regardless of settings in preferences.

*******EDIT*******
All of concerns and issues have been addressed and corrected. The developers even sent me a test version of a newer build which had a very small fraction of the issues I previously mentioned. I have really gotten back into loving this launcher again. Currently running Skynote 9.3 and ultimate icon theme. Before I was completely stock. I wanted to update this thread so people know that the devs do listen. I would have done it sooner but I was plagued with package file is invalid errors. I only got them on pre installed apps I tried to update. They seem to be gone now also.

I dunno why people pay that exorbitant amount for tsf... Years ago it was fresh and different but these days any 3rd party launcher can do the same things. I guess to each his own though, good luck with your issue.
Did you try clearing caches?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

If clearing the caches dont work, you may want to re-install the launcher.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried to clear the cache, but there was nothing to clear except data. So I cleared data, uninstalled then reinstalled, with and without rebooting my phone and still had issues. I also figured out something else that I was doing unknowingly at the time. Mind you I said unknowingly, but I had other launchers installed on my phone prior to this one and the boxes for keep in memory were checked. Once I unchecked them and uninstalled others, I haven't had an issue. I've been using TSF Shell for about 8 hours error free now so I think that was what my problem was caused by. I didn't know that keeping those boxes checked, and having multiple home launcher apps would/could cause issues. Before you tell me I'm stupid or should have known that, when I had my HTC Inspire 4G I had the following installed on it.
1) HTC Sense obviously
2) GO Launcher EX
3) LauncherPro with Plus Unlocker
After rooting it I installed these two below, plus the three above and didn't have any issues whatsoever as far as launchers crashing...well I take that back. LauncherPro did give me some issues but I didn't really care because I had moved onto better.
4) Apex Launcher with Pro Unlocker
5) Nova Launcher with Prime Unlocker
Now with my Stock Note II 4.1.2 I have Touchwiz, Nova & Nova Prime, TSF Shell, Next Launcher 3D Lite with full key (app of the day promotion) and I reinstalled GO Launcher EX just because I wanted to see what had changed since the last time I used it. At one point on my Note II there were at least 10 launchers installed on it all running smoothly believe it or not.

Yes I have a lot of free time on my hands for the most part, and yes I like to have a lot of stuff on my phone just to see how much it can handle. Hopefully this can help someone else fix this issue/something similar, or avoid it altogether. I'm going to contact TSF Shell support tomorrow with this information to see if it can help them out in any way. I want a solid 24 hour error free time frame to pass before I reach out to them though.
*Update 7.4.13*
The force closes are back again whether I've tried using the 12 available screens or a smaller amount. I can't even arrange/rearrange my widgets without serious delay followed by force closes. I'm emailing the developer(s) about this again and I'm including the link to this thread in my email to them. I'll keep this updated as often as I can regarding this.

[Q] Deleting stock launcher

OK, I've seen a few threads similar to this question, but no definitive answers anywhere. I'm currently running SnS Sense ROM 1.5, and I've been looking for a launcher that's a bit different than the stock one, mainly because I like the dock that's across the bottom, similar to what I had with MIUI. After trying out ADW, LauncherPro and GO Launcher EX, I've decided on GO. It just fits what I need best, and the calendar application (which is actually very important to me for work) is second to none, even standalone widgets on the market. Now, I want to uninstall the stock launcher, mainly because it takes up almost 7 MB of space on a system where I really only have about 45 MB of free space (with it installed). If I uninstall it, will I not be able to reinstall b/c it's a system app if I decide to go back to it, like what happens if you uninstall Facebook for Sense? Also, can I uninstall HTC Sense as well, or should I not uninstall either of them? I could really use the space though. Would freezing it via Titanium give me that space back?
Really if you are going to delete the launcher altogether (which I don't know much about) if you don't use much of sense, get an AOSP ROM. You would be able to afford to have an additional launcher on top of stock with plenty of room.

Nah, I had MIUI for about 3 months before going back to Sense....it's not Sense I dislike, it's really just the stock launcher. I like the integration of everything that Sense has, especially Facebook for Sense. I really kinda wanna just delete the launcher. I think what I'm going to do is set up GO launcher the way I want, so I have both Sense with stock launcher and GO launcher both running the way I want, then I'll make a Nandroid of that. Once I have that, I can reboot, delete the launcher and see what happens without fear of really screwing things up. I still would like an answer to my questions though, if anyone can help out.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Messaging App

I am using the Galaxy Nexus on ICS and like my phones before i like to be able to customize the screen using Launcher Pro and Go Launcher EX, however i have found that after a while of using these apps they seem to stop the messaging app from launching and i just get a black screen. Sometimes this clears after pressing the messaging link about 15-20 times.
If i uninstall these apps then i never have an issue with it. I have emailed both developers and had no reply.
Anyone else experienced this?
Those launchers are not updated so you shouldn't use them until they are.
Yes, I get exactly the same problem with the exact same apps!
PLEASE read the stickies in the forum before you post it clearly states that questions belong in the Q&A Forum and not in General..
As for your question install the newset ADWLauncher EX v1.3.3.55 its now fully compatable with ICS and makes everything soo much more useable than the stock launcher.
Mark.
Go Launcher works fine for me.
Personally ive never liked adw which is why i use launcher pro but i might give the new version a try. I cant wait til the manufacturers rollout ics cos theres a few apps i use that dont work properly yet.
As for the issue personally i have found that on launcher pro and go launcher that this black screen only happens when i exit the messaging app using the back key, if i exit using the home button it never happens.
Hope this helps cnxop.

SwipePad APP alternative

Does anyone know of another APP like Swipe Pad. It's a good APP but it lags a lot when i open an APP.

Wave launcher didn't want to install for some reason. It keeps FC. But I found this APP that's almost like swipe pad without there lag.

I've loved swipepad but always hated the lag since I had an sgs2 and even when it became faster on my modern phones. This is fast, thanks and I can use both apps.
Although there are a bunch of these, there's nothing quite like SwipePad. I've tried to switch many times and I end up back with SwipePad like an old girlfriend. The only thing is, SwipePad doesn't seem to get updated very much. It took ages for the Lollipop update, and soon after it was done, Marshmallow came along. The context panel no longer works and blacklist also fails to work. It's a tad less responsive to the point that sometimes when you select an app to open, it misses. You have to linger maybe 200 milliseconds. Those things are annoying but even with those annoyances, it's still the best out there by quite a bit. I have two "pads", each with 12 functions. Twenty-four functions is quite enough for me when they are easy to get at and it doesn't require me to switch from Nova Launcher.

I recently updated my tablet from Kitkat to Marshmallow and realize that "Dynamic Pads: SwipePad add-on" doesn't work as Context Panel. From other reviews in Play Store I get feedback that this problem started a long time ago in Lollipop. Context is shown not for active app, but for active Launcher.
I overcome this problem yourself easily because I have rooted device, I moved "SwipePad Dynamic Pads" app from user apps to system apps. Now it works again as it should. Probably some app's permission restriction in LP/MM...
I know this post is old, however I found it with Google Search.
You can give my app a try, I believe it's the closest thing to SwipPad and even taking the idea further to a new level (keep an eye on the coming updates)

New TouchWiz UI

Let me preface by saying that I have been a Nova prime launcher user since as far back as I can recall. My beautiful white Nova outfitted Note 3 is sitting right next to me still connected via wifi as I transfer my experience to my Note 4. That said, I committed to actually giving TouchWiz a chance with this purchase and so far so good. Granted, it's just one day in but thus far TouchWiz feels and works wonderfully. There are certain cues that are lost when going to a 3rd party launcher which drove my decision to really commit to giving TW a shot this time around. So far I have been able to avoid going to the play store and grabbing trusty ol Nova..lol
I'm interested in hearing the thoughts from those of you that are also using TW. Please share.

I don't like the app drawer icon in the bottom right, nor the spacing of the icons. That being said, it runs nice on this phone. I too have been using Nova exclusively for years, but have been using Google now launder and really like it. Going to stick with it for at least a while.
I used Touchwiz for a bit but quickly switched back to GNL.

I am with you 100%. I was a Note 3 user with my sexy Nova Prime since I got it, and I would never go back to touchwiz.... until now. So far I have made it 2 days on Touchwiz. I mean it is clean, and it looks awesome, but I miss having more rows for icons, and mainly for stretching my widgets. So I feel at some time I am going to switch back. I wanted to give Touchwiz 2 days to see the battery effect when switching to Nova. I definitely am with you I would like to hear other peoples views, if anyone is using Apex, and what features they are switching to a launcher to get, for me its:
- 5 rows of icons
- App drawer also shows widgets
- App drawer can scroll apps vertically and horizontally
- When pressing and holding an icon you have the option to remove, uninstall, all from the app, without having to click it, hold it, and drag to remove. And then going to the app draw, clicking, dragging, and dropping on uninstall.

Thank you for posting about google now launcher, somehow I missed that one. I love it!
I was also pretty happy with touchwiz (I used TW the whole time with note 3), but GNL is still so much cleaner and I love the integrated full screen google now. Google has a much better sense for interface design.
I'm on day three with TW and haven't had any strange impulses to go grab Nova. This is good. No lag. Silky smooth. The only tweak I made this far was to change all of the animation settings to .5 in developer settings.
This phone is incredible. I didn't think it could get no much better coming from my note 3 but they've really stepped things up.

I've always used launchers and roms to mimic stock android but since I got the note 4 I haven't even thought about it. I'm pretty impressed with TouchWiz on this phone.

I too am going on three days with Touchwiz. On my GS4 I used GNL modified with Xposed. I miss the swipe left for Google Now, but otherwise it has been a much better experience than Touchwiz on my Captivate, GS2 or GS4. Once/if we get root I may be convinced to switch, until then I will stick with Touchwiz.
I tried TW the first day and I did find it slightly laggy and hated the folder icons. I'm back to Nova Prime.

Been using TW without a hitch.
Me too giving TW a chance so far so good.

I found slightly laggy so I went back to Nova, but I might give it a second chance. The thing I definitely find not as smooth as expected is the recent apps, it takes a bit for the phone to show them once you tap the button, and a it to switch to the newly selected app. Nothing huge but with the phone's specs I expected a bit more
back to nova prime after 10 minutes lol

I was just about to ask about this. Is there any alternative or possible fix? It's quite laggy with the 2-3sec delay at first pull up.
My only complaint / wish for future fix
On my note 2 I was an avid Nova user, I am trying to use the stock touchwiz, but find myself annoyed that I cannot alphabetize apps in a folder.
I might give it a week then jump back to Nova, le sigh.

The fix for this is allegedly the update that is floating around for the Note 4. The international versions have it, and the TMo version got it yesterday (I think). It fixes the recent applications button and improves the battery life. So it is said at least.
Not sure when AT&T is going to release it. I would expect it any minute, but thats just an opinion, no one really knows.
That's great to know!
Looking forward to that update x2 now

Good to hear that! Hopefully AT&T won't take forever, but that might be wishing too much lol
TW isn't bad at all, but I like Nova because I can change the icon size/spacing and also take the padding out of widgets and fit a LOT more on my screens.
The one thing I freaking HATE is all the white in TW now, the settings menus, etc. WHY!?!?!?!? Don't devs understand that we have this thing called darkness? Man they should at least give us the option of a dark theme.

[Q] asking me to upgrade from "http://m.lo-mall.com/amazon/us/"

I was surfing on my t-mobile Note 2 smartphone and got message asking me to upgrade from "http://m.lo-mall.com/amazon/us/" which sounds VERY suspicious. I went to settings and clear cache, history, cookies, form data, ...etc. After a few hours I still receive this message again from this website.
That website doesn't sound legit...why does it keep coming back? My phone is rooted (android 4.1.2) with stock rom with go launcher, and I freeze all samsung & t-mobile "updater" via titanium backup pro.
What is going on? Why/how does "http://m.lo-mall.com/amazon/us/" keeps popping up?
Go Launcher...
I assume its because of Go Launcher. I've been having the same problem today. I think Go Launcher is changing the start up for chrome to start at a specific webpage which is a phishing website. Try start chrome from stock launcher. I bet it would work fine.
It's even worse:
I also use GO Launcher and replaced the browser shortcut from stock browser to firefox.
And since yesterday it opens the stock browser with this m.lo-mall.com phishing page instead of firefox.
Arrgh! This happened to me too on my Galaxy Note 3. I did a google search for:
"m.lo-mall.com android"
And the results took me here.
I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one who got this. I hate Go Launcher, that is so shady. I thought about paying for this app but no longer. I just left them a 1 star review and warned other users about this malware.
I'm using Nove Launcher now.
Shame on Go Launcher!
Same here
Yup, I should be doing the same thing. I'm can accept ads but phishing? That’s not acceptable. Doing that to their customers... That's the worst thing they could do.
I have the same issue and it sucks hopefully someone will figure out how to fix this.
I have same problem too. I use S5 and I got this same upgrade page in my chrome asking me to update my phone.
I also use Go launcher. I just posted very angry review with 1 star on their play google app download.
Go Launcher was my favorite launcher. now I am very sad and angry.
why do they do this? is this Go developer on this site?
lo-mall phishing "feature" removed per go launcher facebook
according to their facebook page, it has been removed, https://www.facebook.com/golauncher?fref=nf
I'm glad of the removal, but it also make me question the company's judgement.. Personally I may still use it temporary, but now more open towards other launcher such as nova, ...etc.
Not fixed yet...
I just opened Chrome and CM Browser on my HTC One (M8), and it still sends me to the "System Upgrade" page. It's really very frustrating to see it every time I open up the browsers. Should I uninstall GO launcher from my phone and just use the regular HTC launcher? Any suggestions guys?
I've been having these problems for about a month (and about two weeks after I installed GO launcher).

per their facebook, it's fixed. Maybe wait a couple more days? Another good choice of popular launcher is nova launcher, or u can use your stock launcher. FYI, I have not seen the lo-mall phishing from go launcher the last couple of days. Hope that mean it's fixed...only time will tell.
here is a fix
