[APP] HTC One Google Edition Camera app - HTC One X

Works perfectly fine on CM10. Offers a bit more settings and just overall better for One X on AOSP ROMs.

Does it have Photosphere?

Yes it does, but it works oddly - sometimes it does, sometimes it does not.

Photosphere doesn't work in ViperX 2.7.4

Can confirm this. Photosphere doesnt work on anyrom
Older gallery.ak works

To enable photosphere.. Works on CM10.1..
1. download new camera and rename it to gallery2.apk
2. using file manager copy and replace old gallery2.apk in /system/app with new one
3.set permissions to rw-r--r--
4. reboot phone
5. Just install like normal application new gallery2.apk that stayed (where you downloaded it to phone) after copying
Just to say that this replace CM10.1 gallery so make backup of same
And for those that complaining about bad stitching in photosphere-because i saw that people using this in room and small places- i think that i saw somewhere that minimum distance of objects is 9 meters to get a good stitching-maybe in application hints itself i think

TRY THIS :
So i tried many zip files, all failed.
Try this one. Works. Created myself, took zips of the internet and copied files across into one.
IMPORTANT!!!
Delete ALL Gallery.apk and GMSCore.apk from SYSTEM !!
WILL NOT WORK OTHERWISE

Which aspects? I've tried an aops cyanogenmod rom and the camera wanst bad at all talking about pictures, there was a lack of filters but I can live without them. What really matters to me is the video recording which was choppy at the output. Did you try this and goes the video and the output format?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

I've been using 4.2.2 AOSP Roms for a while and the feature that I miss the most from Sense is the camera. The lack of features and of quality in this camera is not comparable to the Sense camera app. You can try for yourself and see what you'll miss, maybe you won't even miss anything, but I surely do.

After testing a few days i can produce really nice sphere`s. there is only one problem left at all.
Below you can see a screenshot right after i enable photosphere.... as you can see the horizon is wrong also it is tilted a little bit "backwards". Even with this weird behavior i can produce pretty nice photos/spheres.
IT MAKES ME MAD
it is not perfect and as long it isen`t perfect in am sad :-/ I callibrate g-sensor with gps-status (best opinion i know).... camera dosen`t care. whatever i set the sensor ..... its allways the same: horizon and little tilt.
Plz gimme a hint if you know a solution!

[Q] Best Camera for Incredible

What's the opinion on best camera for the Dinc? Especially for low light. I can't stand the overexposure on indoor flash pics, regardless my brightness settings. Thanks.
I'm using the stock AOSP cam currently, its nice but doesn't have many "features". For cool effects the vignette app is pretty great.

Just unzip the rom and look for the .apk that you want. Usually they are in a folder called 'app' or something like that.
Then use root explore to put it in your system/app directory on your device.
You may need to set the permissions correctly.
Reboot and enjoy!

cool.. so this actually decreases the flash level?.. does it do so by only using one of the flash instead of both or does it just use a lower lighting?

how to install the Nexus 4 Camera on your M

I did not port this over I just am giving you a way to install on your Razr M.
Download the zip from here ---- >http://d-h.st/lVe
Then follow the directions from here ---> http://pastebin.com/gcHJrFQc
Remember to edit your build.prop ---> editing your build prop can lead to future problems.
Anyone try this yet?
ok so I have a non dev M. I'm rooted and on the Jelly Bean leak. I can confirm this is working for me but I just replaced the files with root explorer and also edited the build.prop through text editor. I copied the files one at a time in the order of the directions, then edited the build.prop and reboot. people are reporting bugs but it's working good here.
I take it the Nexus 5 camera is good? Never seen it. Is it better than the stock Razr M one? And if I install it, does it replace the stock one?
Sent from my DROID Pro using xda app-developers app
This does not replace the stock apps. I now have two camera and two gallery apps. The camera is OK. Basically they added a nice panorama and sphere mode a layout change but the gallery adds a lot of cool editing options. I am having problems with sphere mode with the camera. Its really slow and I'm not sure if I'm using it right.
OK photo sphere requires a gyroscope, something the Razr M does not have. No photo sphere for us.
well i installed the files and the camera is working great. much faster than the stock cam!
however i did not do any build.prop edits. what is the advantage of doing them?

Panorama and photo sphere might work if you do.
as mentioned, there's no way photosphere will work as it requires a gyroscope which the m doesn't have. i like this camera anyway even without photosphere, and have been trying to modify the apk to remove the photosphere menu option without any luck. don't have much knowledge of smali editing :/
Just as an FYI the description of the file to download the files says to use this address instead http://d-h.st/aIy and not to download that file. Update?

Improve Poor Stock Camera Quality

Anyone facing the poor camera quality in any custom rom..?
Just follow these steps and then your camera quality become like stock camera...
First download camrera lib files here
http://www.mediafire.com/?1n4pr8nu4y1cubw
Copy these four lib files to your
phone..
1. libcamera.so,
2. libcamera_client.so,
3. libcameraservice.so,
4. liboemcamera.so
and then use root explorer.
Delete these four lib files from System lib folder...
Then move these four lib files to system lib folder and change the permissions of these lib files, like this attatched screen shot..
Then reboot and enjoy the best camera quality in any custom rom.!!!
(This idea isn't originally created by me, i got it from Tufail Budoo)

The standard gapps replace the gallery2.apk in cm which has HDR. One option is to push the gallery.apk from the ROM's zip file to /system.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
A better option is to manually delete the gallery apk in /system/app, then boot into recovery and reflash CM10.1 (without flashing gapps)
The HDR function makes the pictures look good too. I took a picture of a cheesy tot and it looked more fire than IRL.
I flashed the gapps w/o the camera or gallery. Someone around here provided the .zip, I can't remember who it was though. Search for it and you should find it. If not, I'll find it for you or upload the .zip when I get to work, can't do it now.
The Gallery from latest AOKP builds has the feature. But the wait time between the shots are slightly long so you have to literally hold the camera still, and the algorithm to patch the pictures together isn't precise. Right now I prefer HDR Camera.

Can you post samples of regular + HDR taken from same place/angle?

[APK] New Camera & Gallery with Photosphere 100% Working, NO ROOT REQUIRED

Yesterday where leaked details of a new camera application in the HTC One and Galaxy S4 Google Play Editions, which added new features and some small change in its interface. And as expected, hours later, we can download and install the same version on any Android device.
To install the new gallery and camera, all you have to do is follow the next steps:
Go to Settings > Security and activate the checkbox "Unkonw Sources"
Download the APK file
With a file explorer (IE: ES Explorer or Astro), find the file on your SD and just pick the file and install the new Gallery (New camera included with the gallery)
Enjoy the Google Experience camera and gallery on your HTC One or in almost any device
If you have a Nexus or stock Android Experience device, this app will replace the current camera and gallery. If you have a Sense or other kind of Android, you will notice 2 new apps in the app drawer called: Camera and Gallery which belong to the new gallery and camera (no sh*t Sherlock ).
So far this has been tested on an HTC One, an Oppo Find 5 and in an Xperia Z and it's working in all of them with no issues so it will probably work in the rest of Android devices. Also, Photosphere and Panoramic options seems to be working to in all the Android devices with no need of ROOT or anything so, go ahead and try this new camera and gallery.
Source: El Androide Libre
PS: I've tried the APK myself and it's working like a charm. I can take photopsheres and no issues so far.

REQUIREMENT
The app requires that your phone has a gyro sensor (different from accelerometer sensor). Ensure you have this first before installing this app. You can check the "sensors" section of your phone on GSMArena if you don't know if your device has it.
I must be dreaming, wow great job to all involved ripping through this stuff and releasing things only hours after the darn thing came out!
