I have the LG Optimus G E977 and i unlock it to use on another carrier but the update in the phone has lots of apps from the previous carrier. I wanted to know if there was a way that i can install a stock update but without the additional carrier apps?

i dont think so..the only way is to root your phone and then uninstall these apps...thats the way i did it with my korean edition LG OPTIMUS G F180L
Non yet but rooting is fine as the other guy said.
Hi, i´m using Optimus G E987, rooted and unlocked bootloader.
How can we delete those apps?

Just install Titanium Backup (root needed) and there you can delete anything you want.

Hello everybody!
I'm new to XDA and new to rooting. I read the forum about rooting the korean version of lgog but to no avail, I can't seem to root mine with 10k fw. Do I need to downgrade it to 10i to root it? I got the 10k fw out of the box (didn't upgrade it).
Follow Up question:
I just want to flash the stock ROM JB available, do I really need to root first before I flash? I guess I just wanted to root because I wanted to back-up my stock ROM before I flash.

Check the Sprint section for the latest root method. Should work for all variants.

Hi I have a korean LG optimus g Pro LG F240S. the screen and everything is very good but the software has a lot of carrier crap. Can some developer please build a international firmware CWM image or otherwise. Would make this phone the best phone out there. Some AOSP ROMS will just be great.

The most carrier crap can be disabled by application settings, services can be stopped as stated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292012, so you'll get almost debloated and fast phone
Do you think we'll have cyanogenmod rom for this phone?

I am a new user of android phone.I recently purchased LG Optimus G Model # F180L20P with jelly bean 4.1.2. My problem is that when i click on Check For Update, it says updates available. I downloaded the updates but when it try to install an error 0x13B comes.I also want to know about F180L version because there is no model on LG site. I also want to know that if i want to shift on jellybean 4.3,what will i do?

The F180L model is a Korean phone, branded to the LG U+ service carrier in South Korea. You may be getting the update error if your device is rooted. Instead of using the OTA update method, connect your device to a PC and use the LG firmware update software available here:

in the case of changing your Android version from 4.1.2, we have two options.
first is to wait for LG to actually rollout a 4.3 update. that is, an official upgrade from LG.
second is to flash a custom ROM. i am not aware if the OG already has android 4.3 Roms, but you can check the site. just take note that the most Roms in the Optimus G section are based on AOSP/AOPK/CM. that is, they look like vanilla android and doesn't have the LG stock UI...

I've searched the entire forum and couldn't find a working method to root my LG optimus G Pro F240S. It's the official lollipop release. I flashed the KDZ file. Does anyone know any working method to root this phone with this Android version?
I haven't found it either, I tried many methods, even the universal rooting softwares like kingoroot etc, no luck..so I reverted to kitkat.
How you reverted to kitkat???

Downgrade to kitkat using lg flash tool and kdz kitkat.
Mine model is LG Optimus G Pro E988 it always boots into normal android recovery despite of i have installed TWRP/CWM and rooted it as well.? need help
