Try completely deleting search, talk, whatever won't update, and then reinstall from scratch.

Should I Odin to GB27 stock rooted?

It doesn't download any app in the market

Try going to settings..Google...then delete your account..then reset it and log back in
On the phone not the store

Terminal Emulator-
-Type "su" press enter
-Enable Superuser permission
-Type" drmserver&" press enter
-Reboot

I actually just did an Odin to GB27 Rooted then I did a Factory Reset. And it fixed it

This situation has already been resolved. And you can't get Google Play Services in the playstore, so if you want anything google related to work, do not delete anything you can't replace unless you know what you are doing and how to get it back. Please refrain from telling someone to delete something unless you are 100% sure you know what you are talking about. Trolling is not allowed either . Thank you

1) I didn't see any flaming, 2) If you think that Google Services is a download and not a system apk, you do need some help.
The only thing that's in the downloaded apps in app manager is an update. PLEASE stop giving out bad advice (before or after the fact) that might seriously harm someone's device. It's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. That's bad biscuits, and bad biscuits make the baker broke.

That's quite a different thing then deleting play services.
Uninstalling updates, sure, I can see that working because it reverts it to a previously working version. In the future please try to be as specific as possible when posing, or answering a question

[Q] Play Store not working

So I just flashed the Darkside ICS ROM to my phone and now I am unable to go in to the Play Store, I was able to do it earlier. I think it might have happened when Ti Backup asked me if I wanted to restore my device's old ID #. Anyway to fix this?

Uninstall TI completely and re-install it, when it asks to restore your old ID then tell it yes, it should reboot and fix it.
I just used Root Explore to delete the Play Store apk and reinstalled it with the latest version, problem fixed. Thanks Guys

[Q] A few questions (JB,Modem,Backup)

Hi folks, a few questions if you guys have any thoughts. I'm new to the GS3 (came from the G2X) so bear with me while I try to refigure all this out.
1) I have FrostyJBv4 on my phone now. I want to go to v6, but I hate downloading everything again. I have TiBackup and I used it before, but I felt like there were some random glitches/incompatibilities when I tried to do the restore function and put everything back. Is there a way to just have the appstore just send everything to my phone automatically. I'm hoping there might be an app to download everything from the app store. So basically, I want to just have everything come back fresh onto my phone, without any settings or anything like that. Is that possible, or is TiBackup my only recourse?
2) Regarding the App Store, is there a way to delete apps that I had gotten from there that I would never want to use again. I hate looking at "All Apps" and seeing the more useless stuff still listed there.
3) Modems: referring to this thread. The latest modem is dated 10/17/12 but is listed as ICS 4.0.4. If I had this, would this cause any issues with JB, or should I just have the modem from 9/17/12 that is for JB 4.1.1?
Thanks all

1) Is hit or miss for me, but if I am correct I think it will link to the playstore and download all your previous app's on the new version of FrostyJB_V6.
2) Follow the link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932542 for the new Playstore apk that will allow you to permanently to delete the apps you will never use again.
3) I have tryied all ROM's for the TMO S3 and have played around with all the diffrent modems. They are all compatible as long as they are for TMO S3. you can interchange the ICS and JB modems. I would use the MAP feature in the link to the page you posted (DocHoliday flashable modems).
Damn Android_Monsters your fast, beat me to it....lol
2) I just went to all apps and clicked on a live wallpaper and it asked me if I wanted to uninstall it. So you could do it one at a time.
If you ran across that app while searching the playstore it would say purchased, however, if using the same account

Or just dirty flash and save yourself the trouble of backing up your apps. Not sure why it's such a taboo subject around here. It's like the myth of wiping everything 3 times does any good at all. Anything past wipe number one is wasted time. Defies logic.

If he didn't give a specific reason, dirty flash it anyhow. A lot of devs tell you to do it because someone will try to go from ICS to JB without wiping and wonder why it won't work.

Yeah, I was wondering if there was a way outside of TiBackupPro, which I have. I just don't fully trust it. But that's probably because when I did it before, I probably saved settings and that played a role in mucking it up.

I already have this version apparently, but I hadn't seen that feature. Very cool. It's too bad there aren't checkboxes where you can do a batch removal from the appstore. Glad it's in there regardless.

I've had bad experiences with this, but again, could be and probably is chalked up to user ignorance, but I definitely didn't try going from GB to ICS or anything before. At least I hope I wasn't that much of a noob. But I don't mind being safe, especially flashing BB at the same time.
If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure he recommends it whenever he either changes his base builds (its a mixed base) or makes enough changes to where it could cause issues restoring data. Plus the jb builds are leaked/experimental so you just can't tell what may happen with some random app.
That said, you always can dirty flash, but if you have bugs or run into a problem its better to wipe and reflash before reporting issues.

1) I haven't tried the first thing you asked but I use go backup pro it's a freeware and the best thing about this app is when you're restoring apps it won't ask for your permission meaning you won't have to hit install on each app I know Titanium does that too but last time I checked that option was only available in paid version
2) If you are root then you can get a lot of apps that will un-install apps even if the apps that you can't uninstall normally but be careful when you uninstall system app
3) No it won't cause any issue, infact I am using that modem right now and I am on 4.1.2 JB ROM

Gmail V4.3 apk?

Hi there all,
Does anyone have the Gmail 4.3 apk?
Whenever I try to update my Gmail app I get a parsing package error?
It tells me to ininstall it and then reinstall the latest version, could I just overwrite the app with the .apk from my handset if I had it?
Thanks,
T-L-H
---EDIT---
I did some Googling and it appears that the packages for preinstalled Google software has been signed wrong.
I can't find it neither. It is only in play store but my device is incompatible ... I need an apk.

google play problems

I tried flashing a rom and ended up resetting my phone, yet i retained all my messages. So I didn't lose all my numbers or anything. I can make and recieve phonecalls and text just fine. It says i have 4g and i dont have trouble accessing the network for internet (with or without wifi) . I have all my important apps and contacts saved onto titan backup but i cant access google play store to download it. "unfortunately google play store has stopped"
Google play movies and music wont open, yet i can open samsung apps. And when I try my google app it gives me a network error
Any advice on what I can do?

so did the rom you were attempting to flash actually install?
Did you happen to flash a Verizon ported rom? I.e. synergy, axis, hyperdrive ?

[Q] Latest Gmail not Downloading Play Store...

Hello,
I've been trying to update Gmail through the Play Store but it keeps giving me an error "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.". I don't really know what to do past this point, I'm guessing I have to flash the new version but I can't seem to find the link to it. Anyone have any links to the latest gmail or gapps I can get? Thanks in advance.
Edit: Sorry realized posted in the wrong section instead of the Q&A, if mod finds please move. Sorry for this.

Because gmail is now in the play store it isn't included in some gapps. If you are using Task's aokp ROM with his gapps, it can't be updated as he's modified it for his dark ui.
If you really wanted to uninstall it go into /system/app and delete gmail.apk
Reboot and you'll be able to install it in the play store.

Just gonna add to this that if you delete and install from the Play Store, the Dark UI won't work on it.
Thanks! Uninstalled and reinstalled through store worked. In case anyone stumbled on to this thread in the future I uninstalled through Titanium Backup, and rebooted. Deleting the APK didn't work for me for some reason.
