[APP]Jay-Z MagnaCarta HolyGrail Save music to phone and play as MP3's - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I don't see one of these yet so here goes: if you got the Magna Carts Holy Grail app and downloaded the album on the app but want to delete the app but still have the music do as I say. Muahahahaha.
*Download the album in the app.
*Go to the file explorer of your choice and go to: sdcard0/Android/data/com.samsungmobileusa.magnacarta/cache/_tmp
*All the files that end in tmp, rename them and add ".mp3" on the end, without the quotations, of course.
*Move them to a folder, properly labeled in your music directory.
*Dunzo!
I use poweramp, so when I click on each track, it plays it in poweramp and displays the track name. You can go back and re-label each one with the proper name and number it as it is on the album. If you don't know what number it is, Google the album. A track list will be in a link in the results.
Enjoy the album, much love, y'all!
Here is the track list according to wiki:
1."Holy Grail" (featuring Justin Timberlake)
2."Picasso Baby"
3."Tom Ford"
4."F***WithMeYouKnowIGotIt"
5."Oceans" (featuring Frank Ocean)
6."F.U.T.W."
7."Somewhere in America"
8."Crown"
9."Heaven"
10."Versus"
11."Part II (On the Run)" (featuring Beyoncé)
12."Beach is Better"
13."BBC"
14."Jay-Z Blue"
15."La Familia"
16."Nickels and Dimes"
Edit: Thanks to a fellow XDA member, I found this out. The app also downloads the tracks to sdcard0/music/. They aren't numbered though, so use the track list above for reference. Also use the above directory map to delete the tmp files after app uninstall to free up space.
+Cool story, bro!
+The "Thanks" you get from me is not just thanks, but can be laughing, props, +1, and so on

Huh, for me, all of the files were in Android/data/com.samsungmobileusa.magnacarta/cache/_temp/remote-cache
Also, none of the files ended in .temp instead they were either .bdy or .hdr
Renaming the .bdy files to .mp3 worked.
I wonder why my files were named differently, Oh well, Thank you for sharing this Jelly.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

If you went to remote cache, you have gone too far. Here is a shot, and I have already renamed these to .mp3. Also, in remote cache, look at the size of those files, WAY to small to be a should song of music...
+Cool story, bro!

Worked!!
Thanks Dude!! Worked awesome!!! Got the tracks, got Rid of the app!! Awesome work!!!

My music wasn't in the folder you specified. All I had to do was go to Storage/SDcard0/Music and all the songs were there, already as mp3s.

Hah, you know what, mine are too. Odd that the app would download to two places. I keep all my other music on my sdcard1 so I never look in the music folder on my internal. Well, the ones labeled already on the internal, so if nothing else, peeps can use the track list I provided to number them. Thank you. I'll edit the OP.

The app couldn't play the music it downloaded!
I downloaded the clean versions.
The music appeared in the place you first said so I copied it into the extsdcard/music folder and renamed tracks like you said.
They all play fine now.
Thanks

Im on stock touchwiz. I didn't have to relocate any files. I downloaded the app and after a few minutes and a restart the music appeared in the stock music player. Nothing else was needed to get the music to play on my music player. Also........I don't pop molly i rock tom ford

[Q] Help! 3ga to mp3 converter

Last night I just held my S2 at shoulder level half way back in one of my wife's concerts in a 12th century abbey here in France, and to my complete surprise the "voice recorder" has produced the most superb recording when I was about half way back in the room (swallows and bats flying around as well!).
Only one problem.
I can send the file to my box.net site and everyone can download and listen using Apple Quick Time, but the French would love to convert to mp3.
I can't seem to find a programme that does it.
Thanks for any help.

May work for you to change 3ga to mp3
Hi,
This isn't very technical, however, I just changed the file extension from .3ga to .mp3 . I just gave it a try out of frustration and it now plays as an mp3 on all of my devices.
be sure to copy the file and then change the file extension on the copied file in case it doesn't work for you.
Hope it helps.
Hi major c,
I had the same problem a few days ago. I solved the 3ga to mp3 converting problem and wrote a small HowTo. I used the programm "3GP to MP3 Converter".
Here you will find a short description how to convert 3ga to mp3 files.
Hope this helps you,

While this method allowed me to play the file, I still couldn't edit it, since it's not actually an mp3 file. I tried the SUPER converter software suggestion posted earlier. Great conversion software that is completely free and supports the .3ga format (as well as many others). Worked for me.
thanks for links to super and formatoz otherwise I would be going around in circles.

I arrived here via google..
I had a 58 minute file that needed to convert, and although changing the extension did allow me to play the file on the computer, it began after the 12 or 15 min to have blank spaces in the audio (like if I pressed "mute" for a second every 20 or 30 seconds).
The solution with SUPER erightsoft did worked perfectly, dropped the file, selected mp3 and reenconded it in 10 minutes. I just played the entire file and it doesn't has any gaps or blank spaces.
Thanks!

Nice, renaming it worked. Go figure!!

my ringtones don't repeat

any custom ringtone i try on the phone, whether .ogg .mp3 .wav will only ring once and stop repeating during the call, however the phone keeps vibrating on
stock tones work fine
another sidebug: if you have no bars and try to make a call, the phone gives you error saying to turn off airplane mode which it's not in
wtf??
I have the same issue
same here.. I want my custom ringtone to be used on my new GN
I've found that myself...
MP3 ringtones won't repeat.
It will loop ringtones if you convert the mp3 to OGG format, and in the file info (you can edit this in Winamp for example), create a field called ANDROID_LOOP and set the value to TRUE.

Funnily enough, in the folder called "ringtones" when you connect it up to your PC.
There's a seperate folder for notifications...
and there's also a seperate folder for alarms!
Fun isnt it?

Interesting, so they're forcing us to use the OGG format.
Will the created field work on a regular MP3?

Same issue here with a mp3 again as above.
Will try to create and edit the ogg later.
Oh, I cannot imagine OGG format can solve the problem. Before I see this, I write a really little app to solve the problem.

Yes, sucks that it doesn't loop.
You guys can always use a program called "goldwave" to lengthen your mp3's. Copy and paste the mp3 until it's as long as you need...

No, I did not dismiss your solution. On the contrary, I do really appreciate the OGG+ANDROID_LOOP way to solve the ringtone issue I apologize if I give you an impression that I don't like it.
It just turn out that I see this thread after I have finished the app...
As a ordinary user point of view, I like your solution more than mine. But there are scenarios that it is not always easy to convert a ringtone to OGG from MP3 and add a flag on the street. (may be someone develop an app for that? )
I found it easier to convert the file in Audacity and in the save dialog box you can add a new field called ANDROID_LOOP and set it to 'True'
Worked fine
Thank you all for the very useful information I have found in this thread. I have a question though: is this also applicable for alarms, or just for actual ringtones? TIA

I was "served" with this issue too with my brand new Galaxy Nexus. The ring tones I use are already in OGG format, just lacked the ANDROID_LOOP tag. Instead converting them again with Audacity, I found a little proggie which can just edit the tags. Here is a link to the download location - http://www.gausi.de/flogger-en.html
Sources are included as well as pre-compiled version (just exe to start - no installation or anything - very simple). Precompiled one is in German, but isn't difficult to figure out. Worked for me like a charm to make my ring tones looping. Thanks for the ANDROID_LOOP tip!!!

hmm...not sure about alarms, the ones i took off my old N900 repeat OK when the alarm goes off so i dont know if it's just rings tones, why not give it a try and see for youself?
Not like you have to wait for your usual alarm to test it!
And for the linux guys (like me) this is a simple batch command that will convert a mp3 file to a an ogg auto-repeat ringtone:
mpg321 custom_ringtone.mp3 -w raw && oggenc raw -c "ANDROID_LOOP=TRUE" -o custom_ringtone.ogg ; rm -f raw

[Q] ExtSD hide

Is it possible to hide files on the external SD card from certain apps? Primarily video player and photo gallery. I've got little kids in the household that I don't want seeing certain things, if you catch my drift. I searched and couldn't find any way to hide the SD card from those apps, so as soon as you open the app kid-inappropriate thumbnails pop up. If possible I'd like to make those apps not scan the SD card so Iddon't have to worry about letting the kiddos play with the phone. Is this possible?
I'm running Jedi X6.1.2 ROM. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

smh.. lol anyways:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.droida.nomedia&hl=en
I have never used an app to hide files from apps. I usually just put a ".nomedia" file in the folder in question. That makes it so no apps except a file explorer can see it.
However, it may be easier to keep track of by using that app. (actually WAY easier)
it looks like the app marks the hidden folder in red so you know which ones are being hidden. That feature alone is enough to make it better than adding a .nomedia
That app puts a .nomedia file into the folders that you select to "hide." Works perfectly! Thanks!

I fixed it. Looks like it was something that was downloaded at some point by the download music info thingy, I guess. Most probably one of my recordings that got misnamed by the download music info I must have ran at some point without realizing it.
In the SD, go to android->data->com.sonyericsson.mediaextra->artistimage, in there you will find some files named only by numbers with no extension, those are artist images that appear in some places in the walkman. You can rename them to give them a .jpg extension and then you can open them. I deleted them all, and now I don't have any weird guy popping up when I browse my music.
So yeah, you can do this to remove or possibly replace artist images in the walkman.

[TUT] Manually adding lyrics on Sense 5 Music Player

Hi guys, after few days playing around with the new Sense 5 Update for our HOX, I have figure out a way to add the lyrics to songs in the Music Channel Feature by yourself. That is a great feature which is simple and fun, however sometimes the database either doesn't have your favorite tracks' lyrics or gives you the wrong one.
First, go on the internet and search for the song's lyrics. Remember, if you want it to works properly, you need to find two types of lyrics: the normal text one, and synchronized one which is found in .lrc file types.
The first normal text ones are easy to find through famous sites such as metrolyrics or azlyrics,etc..
The .lrc files are a bit harder looking up and not always available on the internet. You could learn how to make one yourself right here
If you know any good sites that share this type of lyrics, please share
Second, create a notepad and paste the normal lyrics that you found to there, save the file without any extension, name it Songfilename_lyric.
In the same way, copy the content of the synchronized lyrics to notepad, save the file without any extension, name it Songfilename_lrc (LRC not IRC)
For example, If your song file name is ABC.mp3, name the files ABC_lyric and ABC_lrc
Third, plug the phone into your computer, copy two files that you've created to
Computer\HTC One X\Internal storage\Android\data\com.htc.musicenhancer\files\.albumarts\storage_external\Music
Remember, look for a file name Songfilename_not_available in that directory, if it exists, delete it
Enjoy
Note:
The _lrc file is required for the lyrics to pop up while you're playing music, if you don't want it, then you don't have to create
Try to google search "filetype:lrc Song Name" if you don't find any synchronized lyrics with normal searching
If you have any questions, leave a comment
I will try to add Screenshots as soon as possible
VERY nice! . Thank you, sir.

sorry but I didn't take any screenshot.. I took a few old .lrc files I've had for a few years (that I used for an old mp3 player), checked the info tags at the beginning and the time stamps for each verse, added _lrc at the end of the name and removed the .lrc extension, then created another file with only the lyrics, added _lyric at the end of the name and removed the extension.. the last two folders in the path you gave us didn't exist on my phone so I created them, obviously didn't have to check for files with the song name and _notavailable at the end so I copied the two new files to the last folder in the path..
I keep my music in the default folder, namely 'Music'
UPDATE: I just noticed that the phone constantly deletes that last folder in the path (with all the files I copy to it) right after I create it, I have tried several times now.. why could that be?

I will try to add Screenshots as soon as possible

i will make a video and i will posted in youtube
worked somewhat...
i realised that in my phone it is necessary to have filename_lyric. if there is filename_lrc only it will not work. it will work if you have filename_lyric only. to get lrc to work you need to have _lyric too...
i use a htc one x plus.
thankks for the help.
Guys help me
I made lyric by my self, step by step. I got small problem, i don't have folder (that storage_external/music) i have created both but it wont works.
Also i downloaded song with full album and artist info. Then put it on phone. It automaticly updated coverart but lirycs wont show up. Whats the problem. Where my music should be placed to get it work?
I succeeded but...
I followed you but i put it to ....\.albumarts\storage_external\Music. It's .albumarts, not .<space>albumarts. Then it worked on my HOX.
Would you like to check it, mr1029x?

Thanks! Have you tried to see if the music player recognizes any ID3-tag based embedded lyrics? I have tried using minilyrics on a PC to embed lyric tags but it apparently did not work. Does tagging work for anyone or we have to use this manual method if lyrics aren't recognized?

Doesn't work for me either; I embedded tags using SYLT Editor. The manual method does, however, work.
