[MOD] Virtual Buttons For Teamhacksung's ICS (Build 17)

I made a thread for the captivate and got a few requests to make it for the sgs, so here it is. This mod will add virtual buttons on the screen like on the galaxy nexus.

DISCLAIMER: If the subforum and thread title are not enough for you, then let me tell you. This is for the sgs and the respective cm9 builds made for it. If you decide to flash this on any other phone or rom, or you decide to flash the package made for build 10 onto build 15, then don't come into the thread asking why your phone is stuck in a bootloop. The revert package will remove the mod by putting the original framework-res.apk from the rom back onto your phone. It is included in the folder with the update for each build.

Those are folder icons.

So, flashed and after reboot this gave me lots of FCs, Gallery, Trebuchet, Keyboard ecc... what's wrong with it?

Didn't have a single force close. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache. Mod is working fine.

the mod works great! Firstly I got a bootloop, flashed revert, flash mod again and it works great since then, so thanks a lot.
As a request can you add a search button too, with that it would be perfect.

I was looking at that last night and liked the pixelated text one, so I tried porting it from xhdpi to hdpi and it broke the buttons. I think it's just a problem with metamorph, though. The only problem is that it's in a completely separate file and I'm trying not to juggle too many projects at once and become overwhelmed when a new build comes out, so it's not something I really want to work on right now. However, anyone with winrar should be able to drag the image files right into the systemUI.apk as soon as they're ported without a problem after they're ported to hdpi (which I can do and hope to get out in a day or two.)

I've looked into it and haven't found anything yet. The only solution/workaround I've found is to change the backlight timeout to make them less noticable (in evice options in settings).

Hey mate! Thanks for the wallpaper and all of those answers! I think mine it's common issue.
Can you add a disabler in the settings menu or everywhere? Thanks!

[updated]SystemUi Icons from Sony+centered clock from here :-) (Screenshot added)

ATTENTION : This is not working on Stock Roms for now, I will try to provide one for Stock soon!
I took the centered clock from here and the Icons from a Rom I downloaded in Sony Section somewhere, it works with Aosp from here but should also work on any other odexed Rom. Please backup your original SystemUi first (only the .apk) then overwrite it with the one you download here.
It's not that special but I like it and as I don't have to give very much to the community I thought I share..
Use Es Explorer or any rootexplorer you like.

EDIT : To stay on the safe side, the Credit for the centered Clock goes to saigetshu, he made a flashable zip for some other Rom/Version I think so I took the status_bar.xml from his .zip and copied into my orginal SystemUI.apk !

UPDATE 24.01. : Fixed overlay and shadow delay with the help of code from here, many thanks to alley123 !!!
Also it should work with odexed AND deodexed but please backup your orginal systemui.apk first !!!
I don't have the time to change the colours right now but I hope I can provide this soon. The plan is to get it into light and dark grey...

No Problem, you can copy the Icons into the folder /res/drawable-mdpi by yourself or attach your systemui.apk here so I can do it for you.

CM7.2 RC0, in my case SystemUI worked but the info text in the status bar is blended with the date and time. Also, shadows of the icons and text remains there for quite long time. In generally it's not what I expected as I have used many other mods with SystemUI without similar issues.

Yes I know, for now I can not fix it as I don't have the time :-(
I am using it for myself, too, my plan was also to change the colours and get the notification overlay fixed but (grrr) 3 kids and wife keep me jumping around most time ..

PRO-GINGER-ACE V2
CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b83 is deodexed? this badly?
and this trick does not work ;/
my stock bar disappeared and i have to backup it

I am working on deodexing stock and custom app/framework please be patient, there will be a solution, soon!
You can also send me your original systemui and I will provide a modded version, this might be helpful for others, too

[THEME] Big Yellow Emoticons Stock MMS app

Like Many others, I want to use the Stock MMS App but hate the greenish android emoticons... So here is back the Yellow one !!!
They Are Bigger (48X48), easy and nice to view in message.
Works on Deodexed TouchWiz Based Roms only
Enter Recovery (CMW or TWRP)
Make a Nand Backup
Flash the Zip
Wipe Cache/Dalvik
Reboot and enjoy...

Those 2 buttons appears like that because i'm using Touch0Color Theme. Thanks to bring this out... so it's gonna be clear for everyone!!!

By clear, you mean stock untouch and just smilies changed?? Any possible way to mod TMO version instead of the TELUS? :/ Plus I am using stock ODEX, and Im sure I can still use this right? Since its not a heavy mod?? just PNG changes..

Exact, just PNG changes in the mms.apk., should work without problems in odex Roms... MMS.apk are about the same from Telus or TMO, i used both of them on my recent Roms and didn't notice any changes between both version.
Try this one, just make a nand before, if there's any problems you can go back. if it doesn't work i'll modify a tmo one for you!

Same thing on my side... Google Chrome see my zip as a potentiel dangerous file. Don't know why, i have some other files avalaible here at XDA on my dropbox and they're downloadable without warnings.
Just click the arrow and keep the files...
Edit : Ok Download Fix by changing Host

Touch0Color w/yellow smiley
Just add new file on OP for Touch0Color Theme user
D/L are now Fixed with new host!

I tried downloading with a different browser than Chrome, and as soon as it finished my AV flagged it as a virus, and instantly deleted it. OP can you shed some light?

don't know exactly why you have have this issue... i just redownload it, scan with Avast and file is clean... Already 11 downloads as stated by the host... What your AV ??? i just change PNG file in original SystemUi.apk. and make flashable zip with it!

How did you install the zip....via recovery?
I tried 3 times...I'm using TWRP recovery, and I still only get/see the stock green smileys.

Wich TWRP version you're using? And wich rom? Did you try the TMO OR telus versions?

I just used root explorer to copy it to /system/apps and then fix permissions for it and reboot.

I'm using TWRP 2.3.1.1 and cm10-20121109-Nightly. I used the TMO version of Big Yellow Emoticons.

The keyboard is not working..
I've made a flashable zip myself to overite my latinIME.apk and flashed it, then I got the error of it not working,any suggestion??
I humbly ask if you could upload the libjni_latinime.so..
I think that will solve my problem.
It needs the lib file.

@OP: Gesture input (slide) doesn't work. The animation appears but no text is made.
Might look if blacked out apps has something similar.

Sure i'll look into it as said by Gineer there might be files missing for the keyboard.......

Naah... why did you make a flashable zip it doesnt need to be flashed or put into the system.. it's type of a basic just install thing put it into ur sdcard and install it... do remember to backup any other AOSP keyboards before doing this!

as stated above some features doesn't work..maybe if we look more into it we'll find what's something that mskes some features not working..

New Calendar App Dark INverted with 4.1.2 compatibility as it's from 4.2.2

Hi, great mod especially for amoled screens, unfortunatelly I have problem installing it in i8190.
When I try to install it gives me this error message (calendar and music):
X Application not installed
Package with that name and different signature already installed.
I cannot uninstall the original apps since they are flashed in the rom. Any ideas?
Maybe flashable?
(benz rom by the way).

Backup or remove those apps from /system/apps
Put the new ones there instead and change permisions to rw-r-r- (644)
Reboot.

go 2 system then apps take secmyfiles.apk and alarm widget.apk

open the rom u have
which u downloaded as zip
on desktop
then go 2 folder called system inside it folder called app
there ull find alot of files
look for file called (secmyfiles.apk) and (Alarm widget.apk)
upload these 2 files 2 me so i can make em flashable zip
