Working on finding out the cause of these issues. Please report bugs in either of the Team Kernelizers threads.
This is still in Beta, more is yet to come!!!!!!
Kernel InformationGeneral Installation Instructions (for both TW and AOSP):1. Download correct version of kernel for your device and rom. This is important as you may brick your phone is you use the wrong version.
2. Flash kernel using your preferred recovery
3. Do the following AFTER installing the kernel and BEFORE you reboot your phone:
a. Clear cache
b. Clear dalvik
c. Fix Permissions
4. Reboot your device.
TW Specific Kernel Instructions:
(can be used with AOSP too)There are some files on your TouchWiz phone that need to be renamed in order to maximize the battery life of your phone. There has been some debate on whether or not this is necessary, but for now we would recommend renaming these files to ensure that there is no chance of excessive battery drain.
Part 1:
These steps are only necessary on TouchWiz ROMs, however you can also do this on AOSP as well:
1. You must have ROOT. You will need to have a root enabled file explorer on your phone (ES File Explorer works very well and you can get it from the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en). When you get it, open it up and go the the settings and scroll all the way down until you see the Root Settings. Go in there and enable ALL of the root settings.
2. After that is done, navigate to your root folders using the Folder Up icon at the top. Once you are in your root folders, navigate to /system/bin and locate the following files. You will need to rename them with a ".bak" at the end of the filename
gsiff_daemon --> gsiff_daemon.bak
mpdecision --> mpdecison.bak
qosmgr --> qosmgr.bak
smd --> smd.bak
smdexe --> smdexe.bak
Renaming these files will not harm your phone. Many users rename these files every time they flash a rom, and no damge is done.
Also, some ROMs come with these files renamed or deleted entirely, so if you don’t find a file, don’t be alarmed.
You have to do this every time you flash the ROM and/or Kernel.
If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself, you can use the TK-MOD (see Downloads section) and it will handle this for you.
Part 2:
Stopping mpdecision from being called:
1. Open terminal emulator and type the following code:
su
2. When terminal emulator asks for root permission hit 'Grant' or 'Allow'.
3. At the # prompt type:
stop mpdecision
Using Rom Toolbox (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox) we will make a script that will stop mpdecision from being called at each boot so you don't need to use terminal emulator each time
1. Open Rom Toolbox and scroll down to the Scripter option
2. In the scripter, click the “+” button in the top right corner, then select 'Create'
3. Type a name for our new script, lets call it “stop mpdecision”
4. In the commands enter the following text:
#!/system/bin/sh
stop mpdecision
5. Hit the disk icon to save it
6. Select the script that you just created and a dialog box should pop up, select set at boot
Were done here
AOSP Specific Kernel Instructions:When coming from a 3.0 Kernel to a 3.4 Kernel there is a new method with kernel updates. Skipping these steps will cause phone instability, due to some bad data left behind. This is a flaw in the Android OS, not the application. You must follow the instructions below (Thanks ktoonzs for the new method of the ktweaker app)
1. Go to Settings on the phone
2. Go to app manager then all apps
3. Scroll down to ktweaker app n open it
4. Once open hit FORCE STOP and then hit CLEAR DATA
5. Reboot and flash your new update of ktoonzs kernel
6. Repeat steps 1-4 in the above “General Installation” section
You should be good to go after that

Here you will find all of our tweaks to the kernel. We are providing these pre-configured settings as a means to assist S4 users with further improving their overall experiences on this already beast of a phone or to simply use as a baseline to work upon tweaking further. Please Keep in mind that results will always vary per device regardless on the settings being used. Apply what works best for you and your phone. We're here to help eachother out and with more options comes better experiences for everyone running the KT-SGS4 kernel. Big thanks to ALL who have contributed!
Download links will include the specified profile(s) as well as an "Adjustments" file. The "Adjustments" file is just for easy view of all changes made to a profile compared to stock settings.
1. Download the file(s) to your phone. In case of .bin files, optionally rename the file(s) as .txt
2. Copy ONLY the profile(s) (DO NOT copy the "Adjustments" file) to /sdcard/KTweaker folder using a file Manager of your choice.
3. Open Ktweaker app and click on "Restore Prefs from sdcard".
4. The file you just copied should be listed there. Choose the one you want to apply.
5. After applying, make sure the "Set options on boot" setting on the main menu of KTweaker has a little green text bellow confirming that the settings will be applied upon reboot.
6. Profit!
Balanced Bull: Reloaded (updated: 11~15~13)
These settings are very special to me as they were my very first, dating back to the Galaxy S3, and has gained an incredible amount of feedback. It has become notable for it's fairly smooth interface and amazing battery life. If this stacks up to your standards then I encourage you to use it!
https://copy.com/6DYYijYNqifx
Nightmare To Remember
This will likely become your beautiful, never ending nightmare.. It offers a unique balance between battery and performance but unlike Balanced Bull, it is slightly more performance oriented due to the more aggressive scale up to max CPU. However, only 2 cores will be used for the majority of the time so you can still enjoy a nice buttery smooth interface with just enough juice to last you through the day.
https://copy.com/qWU6AIeeAUyd
Bless The Child v3 (updated: 10~25~13)
Based on Ktoonservateq and aimed towards battery. This is specifically for all the battery hungry users out there wanting to conserve as much power as possible. So don't expect the BEST but rather decent performance out of this one.
https://copy.com/CZdfHiaZEOAu
Feed The Machine
The exact opposite of Bless the Child. This is a performance oriented option for all hardcore users. If battery isn't a priority for you then this is a great option.
https://copy.com/xWpFNDtIsQHe
Day Of Reckoning
Very similar to Nightmare To Remember but is aimed slightly more towards battery without deteriorating much of the performance. It is based off the Pegasusq governor.
https://copy.com/vynBURHcsOUl
Dead By April v2.2 (updated: 11~15~13)
This profile attempts to bring some of the best battery life possible to your device. It is similar to Bless The Child but takes things a step further . It now focuses more on snappiness but still maintains it's well known battery conservation. It manages to maintain a smooth ui for your average daily use.

Project Icarus by @mamba720027
So some may wonder why the name "Icarus",why not Hyper Performance or Deadly Good Battery.
Well the reason and to begin explination, short history.
Icarus is a greek mythology who is seen today as a mythical pioneer that tried to conquer the skies.
I like that mythology cause it kinda corresponds to my own saying "fly high or fall hard" which means to aim high or fail trying. So their you have it folks and thus the profile name "Icarus".
And onto explination of each profiles.
The first is "Performance" which is catered for straight out performance with also good battery performance.
This one is for when u dont give a rats flying balls about battery really and just want everything super fast and smooth. But you maybe surprise of battery performance. I recommend everyone try this profile first. My current favorite
The second is "Conservative" this is for those seeking performance but also better battery performance than the first.
This one is the middle man or lady as u may want to refer to it. It gives the best of both worlds, performance and battery. So if the first leave you stranded then fear not, this is the one to turn too
The third is "Kamikaze" which means "god wind". It either knocks the daylight out of your Galaxy S4 due to its high undervolteing and mean intent on Battery Performance but still snappy.
This one the undervolting is of my personal voltage table that runs stable for me with other tweaks. If it runs successfully for anyone else then battery performance may be great.
This one is for those that likes the thrill of trying something new and unsure if it will work

Undisputed 3 (updated: 12~11~13)
This is a universal performance setup in which combines the essential elements of other profiles by providing equal battery life, speed, performance, and stability to bring the ultimate experience to your device.
https://copy.com/H0FUiELjgegB
ECLIPSE v2 (updated: 10~25~13)
This is a performance oriented option where great battery life is also expected to intervene. This not only will bring an incredibly stable, smooth, and snappy feel to your device but will also benefit towards longer lasting battery so you can love and enjoy your phone the way you were meant to.
https://copy.com/fgFWgW30IE38
Asking Alexandria
Another battery driven profile in which focuses on saving as much juice as possible while also maintaining stability and providing an extremely snappy feel to your phone. It is quite possibly one of the smoothest and snappiest battery saving profiles available.
Why Asking Alexandria?
It's named after yet another one of my top favorite metalcore bands and I chose this because Alexander The Great basically ruled the world at one point and "Alexandria" is the female equivalent to that name, which has become known to mean the "one who comes to save warriors".
"Asking" was an addition to the title name as an indication in the sense that we are all asking Alexandria what she can really do to our phone.

Project Daylight v2 by @mamba720027 (updated: 12~23~13)
Day Light is focused mainly on battery conservation. I felt that its useless if its not smooth and lags alot so I add performance into the mix createing a profile that offers both while its first and foremost goal "battery performance" is still preserved and not diminish. This profile is yet unique and on a different level from my early release of "Icarus"
The contents are 3 profiles unique in their own way, "Daylight", "Daybreak" and "Experimental" along with a "Extra" folder containing wallpapers I created on our S4 for fun while testing . Kind of gives me some inspiration and sense of feel of what my objective is.
Daybreak is a crossbread profile of my Icarus Performance profile and Daylight. Its simply utilizing the performance power behind Icarus Performance profile while useing Daylight profile governor settings as its core to boost battery performance
The experimental profile is heavily undervolted/Underclocked with tweaked scheduler and governor. I taught if some of you could run it stable then it may produce great or mix results

What Lies Beneath
This is an extreme battery performance setup in which essentially transforms your quad-core device into a dual core device.
Why "What Lies Beneath"?
You'll find that during light to moderate operations the cpu remains at lower frequencies for an extended period of time and will only jump to max when needed. Although it's clocked at a max of 1.3ghz it maintains a surprisingly smooth and snappy feel to your device at such low frequencies. This is where battery life is also expected to come in to play as well.
https://copy.com/PXAKKLMFdNDU
Ktoonsified v2 (updated: 12~23~13)
This profile was put together by none other than the BOSS himself, @ktoonsez! This is a performance oriented option in which also offers a great deal of battery life. Haven't tried these settings yet? then what are you waiting for!! Load em up and be prepared for one of the smoothest and snappiest experiences ever!

Sleeping Dragon by @mamba720027 (updated: 12~23~13)
Sleeping Dragon V2 Single Core
This is a single core profile aimed at consumeing the least battery for a time when you will be away from home or at work and away from the charger. It was a profile i played with at first as i did not expect it to mount as much with apps and system UI needing a right amount of performance from a CPU to meet todays tasks in performance. In the end i was able to tame the dragon and make it work as best as possible to achieve its goal
Sleeping Dragon V1 Quad-Core
This is the counter part of Sleeping Dragon V2 but with many tweaked parameters to make it a fully functional 4 Core base profile in hopes to achieve close or same battery performace as its single core entity. Unfortunately i still am not sure if it measures up but what i know from previous test with settings @Stock it hold its own in battery department. I am pleased with the results although i would wish to see some light usage results from users.I must give credits to Luigi for useing parts from his Balanced Bull Script, and Undisputed 3 Script and part from my Crimson Dragon Script. I am pleased to present users with this 4 Core or Quadcore profile

Smooth Operator v3 by @mamba720027 (updated: 12~23~13)

Hydra
Eclipse and Kamikaze clash with one another in this hybrid profile (BIG thanks to @mamba720027 for the amazing work done on Kamikaze!). This is perfect for those who favor one or both of these profiles. With the merging of some of the essential performance and battery elements of each profile as well as a few minor adjustments, this one also stands as it's own profile and it flies!.

Ghost Rider by @galaxys3man30
this setup can benchmark on 1890,1944 and 1998 and its been really good on battery even thou its a performance setup think im going to call it ghost rider cuz its a sleeper yea it shows good battery life but behind that is the raw performance that is on demand when needed.

Crimson Dragon by @mamba720027
This is a profile that i put together from a lost in the thread Dual Core profile "Lazy Dragon". What was suppose to be a V2 Update of it turned into a 4 Core profile and something totally new, Crimson Dragon. This profile is a variable of Performace and keeping things balance. Its very smooth on TW and produce great results on AOSP as well threw testing and feedback. Please enjoy this new addition :good:

The link to at least the flashable recoveries goes to a Galaxy S3 thread.
That is pretty dangerous to link to that from here as someone is going to try and flash those on his GS4 without reading thoroughly first.
If your first post is a work in progress and you just copied from your gs3 thread to get the formatting you should put a big disclaimer at the top warning people not to use what they fins here until you are done.
Just dont want to see someone yelling at you because they werent careful about what they flashed.

You just know some goofball would have flashed an S3 kernel and bricked his phone and come here blaming you saying "Well yeah I saw it was for the S3, but you linked it in the S4 thread so I figured I was safe! It's your fault!"

Theres an aroma bug i am facing, if i try to scroll down soon it wont let me, i get taken to first choice.
---------- Post added at 09:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:17 PM ----------
also, after flashing this when i go to boot, it says ROM may flash stock recovery , this cannot be undone...

I have this on my international S4 so you have confirmed both GS4 models have been effected. It's aroma itself. I'll let @RErick know and hopefully one day aroma has better touch drivers for us.
For now try this method I have been doing. Hold a finger low on the screen and drag up but do not let go with that finger. With your other hand, use a finger to tap the selections you could not get to. This helps where before you'd scroll and let go and you would be back where screen position started. Hopefully that helps eek the install through. For each section you must hit none for all installs you would like to skip or the installer will not continue as you go through the options.
Please continue reporting issues, this is greatly appreciated.

Great thank you ^.^
Working good so far btw I think lol, I have not gotten the chance of looking at ktz original setting, i flashed you guy's tweak after the first boot. Will post up a screenshot up in a min here of everything i got so far. I choose the AOSP balance setting in the aroma I believe it was suppose to be with ktoonservativeq and noop? but when I booted it was row..(so im not sure if settings were actually flashed or not?) I know for sure buildprop was edited.
Also, can I get some information about the section with crossbreeder? Is crossbreeder install alone? Because in that section of the aroma it gave you option to uninstall, I did not choose that, I believe I choose the first option. So that means crossbreeder is install along yes?

Battery seems good I believe. 1 hour screen time with 14% battery of normal use is not bad at all
Benchmark not as good as I had hope for a balance setting. But they rarely matters for me so its not that big of a deal

The ktweaker back ups should be labeled but are not yet. They are from GS3 I should get some GS4 ones with RErick in about two weeks. I would try Raw Intellects file he posted some posts back for more performance via kernel settings.
I would try setting noop again if that is your preferred scheduler. It is always great on battery.
If you have 99TKmod and 98Cron in your intid our systctrl loaded as well.
Yes based on your selection you have the stock crossbreeder mod installed. I will get you link for info on crossbreeder. The uninstall is included for users with the stock crossbreeder installed and want to install our tweaks, both included crossbreeder versions were modded to work with our whole setup, the one labeled modified though only has entropy generation enabled and extra crossbreeder features disabled such as dns boost/tether boost/adblock and governor tweaks of which for some users have caused lots of issues so we included a version which after second boot on modified crossbreeder version is finished being setup automatically but must wait about 4-5min to be sure the scriot for it ran before reboot. So for you with the stock crossbreeder installed which has been made fully compatible with our setup, you are all set and should be running as normal for you.
Ill get link here for crossbreeder thread for info for you.

Looks good. Temps can greatly effect bench scores and also a balanced setup will always score when good for battery about those ranges. For more performance you can try @rawintellect setup for ktweaker gs4 version few posts back.

Pretty sweet battery if I must say so myself.

[Tweaks] Lightning Zap for Ntiro from Team Fah-Q!

Please read the entire OP
DISCLAIMER:
I am NOT responsible for anything YOU do that causes damage to your device. Follow the instructions to TEE and there won't be any problems.
Your ROM/kernel MUST support init.d scripts
How do you know if your kernel supports init.d scripts? There are a number of ways to check, but the best way is to ask the developer of that kernel. You can also check in the ROMofCHOICE.zip by navigating to /system/etc/init.d. If the original .zip of your ROM has an init.d folder with scripts in it, then you are good to go.
What is Lightning Zap!?
Lightning Zap! is a set of tweaks that I have written and compiled to make the LG Nitro Lightning fast, super smooth, and contain excellent battery life!
I have used these same tweaks on devices like the Samsung SGS4G, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Skyrocket, Samsung Blaze, Sony S Tab. I have also assisted others with adding Lightning Zap! to their devices such as the Nexus S and various HTC devices. They have been proven time and time again to add amazing improvements to all devices.
What's the difference in the various version I find of Lightning Zap! when I google it?
Simply put, all devices are setup, formatted and created differently.
What's included in Lightning Zap!:
Battery tweaks for awesome battery life
Governor tweaks for amazing speed and performance without sacrificing battery life
Kernel tweaks
Memory and Ram tweaks
Cleaner tweaks
Build.prop tweaks
Internet speed tweaks
and MORE!
I used ParanoidAndroid ROM to test these tweaks. Although I have used the tweaks from froyo to jellybean, the the mounts, on some devices, are sometimes different as well as some kernel differences on each android version. If you are using a different ROM, feel free to test and post your results in this thread.
Install instructions:
Make a backup and then backup your data with titanium or something alike
***Download link is at the bottom of this post***
Download Lightning Zap! v1.zip to pc (Can be downloaded to sdcard also)
Place Lightning Zap! v1.zip on sdcard
Flash
Allow phone to set for 10 minutes after reboot
Enjoy
Confirmed ROMs & kernels
This space is going to be used to track the ROMs and kernels people have tested and confirmed Lightning Zap! installs and functions correctly.
Gningerbread:
ICS:
Jellybean:
ParanoidAndroid
CM10
Miui 2.9.27
CodeNameAndroid
I'm also adding some helpful tips on how to test Lightning Zap! to get the most positive results.
Testing option 1:
After flashing Lightning Zap!, download SManager from the market, navigate to /system/etc/init.d
Press menu key/more/advanced options/mount /system as rw and click ok
Press on each script individually then a ui will come up
In the ui, tap the icon at the top that is a skull and cross bones (has SU under it) then tap run.
An output will be displayed. Note the output for errors and report errors to me. Please use pastebin.com to upload your outputs
Testing option 2:
Plug phone into pc, open a terminal/command prompt and type each command individually
adb shell
su
cd /system.etc.init.d
Now type the file name of each tweak individually, eg:
01governor
Now note each output that is displayed and look for errors
If errors exist, report errors to me. Please use pastebin.com.
There may be some errors that exist that are not true errors. I know what they are, but haven't noted them yet.
If you have failures, please get them to me as soon as you can so I can fix it
FYI, since I installed Lightning Zap! on my wife's Nitro, she is at 100% with light use at 4.5 hours... I know it is not a normal day for her as she uses her phone much more than what she is using it today, but this is just to give users an idea of how great my scripts are. Typically on my S2 Skyrocket I get about 30 hours under moderate use (many texts from my wife, 5-10 calls, 30-45 minutes of web browsing, etc.) on a single charge...
More improvements and tweaks
The governor tweak is set pretty high for performance. If you find yourself needing battery life over performance, you can make some minor changes. Here's how:
1 Download Script Manager from the market (it's free)
2 Open Script Manager and navigate to /system/etc/init.d
3 Press menu/more/advanced options and select mount as RW
4 Select 01governor and select "edit" at the top (this will open the file in atext editor)
5 Change:
Code:
echo "45" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold;
To:
Code:
echo "[COLOR=red]70[/COLOR]" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold;
6 Select menu/save
7 Press the skull and cross bones icon at the top (this will allow Super User)
8 Press run, close app and enjoy
This will result is slightly slower performance but higher battery life.
If you want even better battery life:
1 Following steps 1-4
2 Add a # at the begining of lines 11 to 19
3 Scroll to "pwoersaver" section
4 Remove the # at the begining of lines 28, 30-38 and 43
Code:
#AWAKE_GOVERNOR="ondemand"
#SLEEP_GOVERNOR="ondemand"
# echo "70" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold;
etc
Code:
AWAKE_GOVERNOR="powersaver"
#SLEEP_GOVERNOR="powersaver"
echo "20000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate;
5 Follow steps 6-8 (no need to select super user icon if you already did)
This will result in lower performance, but ultimate battery life
When running in a higher performance mode (especially for gaming) you can disable powersave_bias by changing the 1 to a 0 like this:
Code:
echo "1" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/powersave_bias;
echo "[COLOR=red]0[/COLOR]" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/powersave_bias;
Powersave_bias only allows the CPU to peak for small increments at a time, and not allow the CPU to remain peaked even when the system calls for it. In gaming, that could result in choppy, laggy perofrmance and slow FPS..
Although it says not to in the script, you can change the sampling rate as well. Do not go below 50000. I left it at 57500 as I found this seems good setting for smooth scrolling and performance.
Code:
echo "[COLOR=Red]57500[/COLOR]" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate;
Always leave SLEEP_GOVERNOR="powersave" uncommented (no #) and do not uncomment any other SLEEP_GOVERNOR as this will keep ultimate battery save while screen is off.
Only change values in increments of 5 for the up_threshold.
I am not resposible if you do something wrong. Make a back up just in case.
Working on CM10 latest nightly. Noticing a slight speed up. Will keep an eye on battery and post back if I notice any notable changes. Thank you!!

Are you building from source? If so, you can add many of the values straight into the kernel. I haven't looked at the Nitro's source, but I can still somewhat guide you on how to make a Lightning Zapped! kernel where the tweaks work MUCH better than going thru scripts...

Want to raise your scores even higher, refer to the second post but lower the up_threshold to 15. Of course this will take from your battery life, but it will seriously enhance your performance. You can also change powersave_bias, io_is_busy, down_differential, ignore_nice_load to "0" and play with sampling_rate a bit too... Keep in mind, the more you add performance, the less battery life you will have...

I get that you want to automate the process a bit, but I think it could be annoying in some cases. What if I wanted to do something else in recovery before rebooting? Just my personal opinion.

From my experience, when flashing tweaks, you want to reboot immediately after so they fully install. Same with ROMs, kernels and recoveries... Otherwise, you can cause gremlins to take over and corrupt your partitions...

[ROM] Dec.1st -{}- UVDLJA {} LIGHTNING_rev3 -{}- 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA

Welcome to Lightning ROM
MAJOR UPDATE, REV3, CHANG LOG IN SECOND POST**********
The goal when creating this today has been simple. Squeezing the most performance out of the T-Mobile Galaxy S III as I possibly could, without destroying your battery. This ROM was build with two things in mind - optimization and speed. Nuff said. It is based off the official Jelly Bean leak as of late last night and wild child's deodexed version he was kind enough to throw down. It will probably impregnate you, with twins, then not pay you child support. If you are ready to propel your device to levels above 9 thousand, you should probably keep reading. You have been warned. IT IS FAST! ..... yet... friendly...
Like myself, in the spirit of android, I am sure you all love customization. I am doing something a little different with this. Rather than add all the toggles, mods, themes, etc, I focused today on the performance aspect and will leave the theming up to you, and after you get it set up the way you want (as there will soon be and already is tons of pretty extras for this build) revert to post 2 of this thread for a nice little guide to odex this bad boy straight from Android UI via terminal emulator. I'll take care of the tweaking, you theme it the way you want, then wrap it up with some memory optimization of your own, or don't. Sound good? Thought so
Getting right down to it - a quick list of things modified here, and I know I am missing some things:
-Init.d support
-Busybox
-Deodexed (until you odex - see post 2)
-Rooted - duh
-CIQ removed***
-Debloated: removed a lot of stuff, but it is all avail' in the market, youtube, etc, you would have had to update it anyways -__-
-File system and SD read optimized for speed
-added freeza's custom CPU script to init.d ***see changelog in post 2
-Build.prop has been modified.
*added the 0 ring delay script
*wifi scan adjusted to 600
*media streaming optimized
*media recording optimized (video and image)
*data speeds optimized
-Database df on each boot / sql support - totally kanged this from somewhere else it was kanged... all credits due
-Memory optimizations
-Default IO scheduler optimized for flash-type disks (android devices)
-Carefully modified CPU parameters with performance in mind. Tweaked values to optimize IO throughput during heavy workload and multi-tasking, yet on the other end, CPU cycles are greatly reduced when system is not under heavy load. You will see this in performance :highfive:
INSTALLATION - follow this to the T, or I will ignore you. And keep in mind you might still have issues. Not every device is the same.
1. download ROM, put it on your external SD card, and verify it is good with an MD5 check
2. once all is well, boot to recovery
3. do a factory reset/data wipe (I have always been in the habit of being thorough and formatting anything 3 times)
4. format/wipe system (3 times recommended)
5. flash ROM
6. reboot (it will take a couple minutes)
7. once the device boots, let it stand alone for about a minute or so (i typically wait until it shuts off the display on its own) and ENJOY
NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO SIGN IN TO DROP BOX. I REMOVED IT. DL FROM MARKET!!
Also, some other things removed: browser, YouTube, calculator, some other stuff. I didn't remove anything that was not available in the play store. Wanted to keep it light weight. Do not try to sign in to anything other than your google account when you boot. Again, enjoy.
thanks to wild child, freeza, virus, steelH, dj, luke, ktoonz, and many others. mad respect to you all. i have implemented things that are either your direct work or things i have learned from you. so here is my humble shout out. if there is something i left out, somebody i didn't mention, please forgive me and post in this thread and call me out, i will happily update the OP with thanks. respect to you all
REV_3 - ready, set.. ok click now!
With morfic's kernel..... clocked at 1.83
ok... so if you are like me, and you REALLY wanna get intense with this, and just make it as bad A as you possibly can, keep reading....
This will essentially odex all files in your /system/framework and it will do it straight from the Android UI via my personal favorite app ... this is good because it frees up mem, and reduces DVM size. OPTIMALLL
1. download the odex.zip here --> PURPLE
2. extract all files with a file explorer, i prefer root explorer or fx file explorer
3. place the extracted folder and all of it's contents in /data/local/tmp ... so you should have /data/local/tmp/odex/+(misc files in new odex directory)
4. give the new directory and ALL contents FULL permissions. full read, write, and execute perms. your file explorer, if it has taken you this far, should be able to accomplish this
5. download this app TERMINAL EMULATOR dont worry it is free. open the app
Type the following commands - each new line should be executed with the enter key:
su (hit enter, it will ask for root)
/data/local/tmp/odex/odex (hit enter, you will see
you will see a bunch of outputs. there will be a message when it is done (honestly, like 10 seconds if that) saying something like "enjoy your hybrid ROM"
type "reboot recovery" (without the quotes)
device will boot into recovery immediately after you hit enter...
wipe cache and dalvik cache once more each, and reboot your device.
viola <--- this was spelled wrong. but i am going to leave it. because i can. rofl
THANKS*** freeza for sending me the the odex script, and you're welcome, for the bootclasspath for the script.. lulz. and thanks freeza for convincing me to download titanium backup again... and you're welcome for giving you the peace of mind that you can odex framework from android. el o el
****change log*****
rev3-December 1st, 2012 -uploading
-added morfic's alpha 23 kernel. OC'able to 1.83, no UV, L2 cache tables optimized, CPU hot plugged (for now, panel of=cpu1 off), pretty much an overhaul here. performance is ridiculous.
-removed CPU tweak by freeza (i still love you tho)
-optimized IO, AGAIN. adjusted ondemand parameters for a little bit better performance
-removed unneeded scripts from init.qcom.post_boot.sh file - positive effect on IO
-cleaned up build prop, added scripts for TCP windows, added network hack by... somebody... can't remember. File is in /etc/init.d/ "internet"
-optimized BT audio streaming
-added properties for optimal accessibility of T-Mos spectrum/towers
-disabled unneeded logging - save CPU cycles and power
-debloated some more. lightweight. DO NOT... try to sign in to dropbox upon first boot (if it even gives you the option) download the latest version of the app on the play store.
rev2-NOVEMBER 19, 2012
-removed some UI audio sounds (charger connection [for those that listen to music], lowbattery sound, volume toggle sounds, other annoying useless sounds such as boot up and power off)
implemented freeza's CPU control script for some amazing performance and battery life. thanks bud, as always, great work. i have been running this since he was finished with it, and it is absolutely amazing. your device with tons of unique and user friendly, editable scripts.
-freeza's CPU script adjusts CPU parameters for both cores based upon whether your device is charging, and how much battery you have left. it is a performance and battery friendly script that is power efficient and editable depending on what YOU want your device to do.
beta1-
initial release
all the things...
In rev 2, with freeza's CPU mod, you can navigate to init.d and you will see a "70cputweak" file. if you open that up, you can adjust CPU values and parameters of governors to your liking. for now, i left them as is - the way they were when freeza gave them to me. edit them with a file explorer and reboot and you are now adjusting your OWN values based on the performance and battery YOU desire. follow instruction in OP to flash
Thanks will try this later today

All I have done is tweak properties listed. Didn't mess with animations, or anything. You guys can do all that with a theme, kitchen, etc... I would recommend wild child's work. It's great stuff. Like I said the reason for this is because after you get it the way you want, you can go in and odex it and finalize your OWN build the way you want it to look. I'm not too big on aesthetics. But I can make your device run better
And to answer your question, yes, it is still running touchwiz launcher by default. Again I would recommend apex or nova. touchwiz is awful IMO. nothing unique about it.
Rom looks great will be testing it tonight!
Can anyone confirm wildchilds kitchen is working?

Infromation About CrossBreeder-
- This is a new take at Android lag reduction. It's lightweight and won't consume battery. Users have reported drastic improvements in usability and even benchmark scores. It will show noticeable improvements - Android devices from Donut to Froyo to Gingerbread to Honeycomb to ICS and Jellybean.
- This is a combination of 5 different methodologies to reduce Android lag.
- Removal of DNS lag . A lot of the lag in a lot of apps, apart from the GUI lag, is due to slow DNS querying, specially on the mobile network.
- CrossBreeder now runs a caching, parallelising DNS client on the device. So now most of your DNS queries will be served from the cache and if not found, the query will be sent in in round robin fashion to multiple DNS servers including Google DNS, OpenDNS and your home router and the reply will be served to you, hot.
- This speeds up network access and networked apps, like Browsers of course, and Tapatalk, Gmail and thousands of others drastically. And removes a lot of the lag where it was due to DNS querying. This will not increase your network or download speed but pages will load much faster.
- This will future proof your devices as more and more apps start using HTML5 and/or reside completely as web pages or the like.-
Thanks, and a brief statement-
I Just thought, there are some great developers in our forum, with great tweaks, geared for their own specific purpose, and i thank them. I HAVE asked for permission to use these tweaks, to make a pack of the best, from the best taking a few of those great tweaks and putting them in one lightweight package. Now , I did NOT create any tweak in this pack. That is why introductions and thanks are in order.
ALL THANKS TO THESE GUYS
Exit_Only - For being the mad scientist of the "tweak" in general
Kobridge - Having used your tweaks in various roms and knowing how great they work :good:
Phakker - For the use of his Infamous, screenstate tweak
G_Ding84 - For being one h*ll of a rom maker , teacher, and one of the most helpful guys youll meet on any forum
idcrisis - For the use of his CrossBreeder Mod found here -

Test Init.d With The "21 Test-init.d" script
-THINGS YOU NEED-
Rom Toolbox (free or pro)
Root Access (superuser access) for Rom Toolbox
ComaDose Already Flashed
-Steps-
After ComaDose flash, if you want to check if your init.d is functioning properly you can check it with the 21 test init.d script...
After flash the test init.d script has already ran (on startup) now thwe sole purpose of this script is to show whether or not init.d
is properly functioning.
When this script is ran (executed) as all scripts in init.d are upon startup, it creates a file in the /data folder.
so why dont we take a look for it?
Using Rom Toolbox, go to the "root browser" tab (upon first startup youll be prompted to SuperUser permissions, Allow this)
Once in Root Browser youll be in the root of your device by default. ( / )
Click on the "Data" folder..
In the /Data folder, were looking for "Exit Only Init.d" file
if you see this file, your init.d is working and all scripts are running ...
If you dont see this file after reboot (post flash) you can execute the "21 test Init " script manually...
back out to the root of the phone, go into "system", then into "etc" then into the "init.d" folder and locate the "21_testinit.d" script, press on it , bringing up this menu.
press the "open as" tab, bringing up this menu...
then press the "script file" option..
Then you want to press the "execute Script" option, making sure the "execute as root option is checked, as shown below.
which will then execute the script using init.d support to do so.. looking like this
after its executed, go back into /data and find the "Exit Only Init.d" file if its there your init.d is working.....

Really glad to see some familiar names from the E4GT days.Great phone and great Devs..I remember some of those scripts.Anyway this os working great!
Flashed a couple hours ago, and tbh, I don't really notice a difference in performance at all. My web pages open at the same speed and overall my phone feels the same. Will keep an eye on battery life. In any case, thanks for putting this together for us!

Kobridge and phhaker made some amazing scripts. If your using them than I know it'll be amazing. My phone is instantly snappier. I notice a massive difference and it is definitely NOT placebo.
Jesus. This is ridiculous. Everything is blazing fast!
Great work
I think you have to add SuplRootCert file in /system/etc cause in the gps.conf file there is this line.
SUPL_TLS_CERT=/system/etc/SuplRootCert
And why there are 2 different kb read ahead values? In the KB_read_ahead_tweaks script it's 2048 and in the S02_direct_inject script it's 3072? Is it for the internal and external sd card different or is it a mistake? Nice work btw.

KT-SGS6E [Kernel] Builds [Discussion] [G92X] [TW 5.0] ★KTWEAKER SHOP★

ALL THANKS AND CREDITS GO TO THE ONE AND ONLY KTOONSEZ FOR HIS AWESOME KERNEL AND GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE THESE BUILDS.
Welcome!
I am in no way affiliated with Ktoonsez or his work. I’m just a simple member of the XDA community who happens to be a huge supporter of this kernel and its creator. This is just my way of giving back. I am aware of some of the issues that may occur on specific kernel builds for some users as well as the difficulties faced when fine tuning the kernel and this is my response to that:
This is by no means intended to replace any of the original KT-SGS6E kernel threads. The purpose of this thread is simply to work in conjunction with them by providing a variety of builds for which users can experiment with and find which versions perform as intended on each of their respective device models. As on previous Samsung devices I am also bringing back the Ktweaker Shop filled with tons of pre-configured settings compiled by myself and others in attempt to further assist S6 & S6 EDGE users with improving their overall experiences on this device or to simply use as a baseline to work upon tweaking further. So I’ve gathered just about all of the current and previous kernel builds I had hidden within my pc as well as all the various Ktweaker settings and am sharing them with the public. I hope this makes a difference for all you guys. ENJOY!! :good:
POST #2: Reserved for UNIFIED {G92X} users
POST #3: Reserved for the KTWEAKER SHOP
POST #4: Reserved for TEST PROFILES
If at any given time you aren't already on the kernel and Ktoonsez hasn't updated his links, there'll be no need to flash previous builds when you want to receive OTA's as ALL posts will be updated regularly upon future releases. So please be sure to refer back here for all builds from this point moving forward!
I will NOT be held liable for anything that may occur to your device nor will Ktoonsez. So please...
***FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK***
If you encounter any suspicious issues when updating the kernel, follow my recommended procedure for the best possible results:
1) Backup current Ktweaker settings
2) Open any root browser (make sure it's mounted as r/w) then navigate to /system/app/ and delete the Ktweaker and KTmoniter apk's
3) Navigate to your sdcard and delete the Ktweaker folder OR rename it by adding a ".bak" extension without the quotes.
4) {Optional} Clear all Superuser logs
5) Reboot Recovery
6) Flash kernel
7) Reboot
8) Copy any saved profiles back into /sdcard/Ktweaker/Profiles/
9) Restore Ktweaker settings
10) Profit?
NOTE: If at any point Ktoonsez no longer wants this thread open it will be closed without question.
Please visit original kernel thread for change logs, extras, etc...

Welcome to the Ktweaker Shop!
Here you will find all of the pre-configured settings provided by myself and Ktoonsez. As a proud member of Team Kernelizers, I am offering a variety of profiles specifically for S6 and S6 EDGE users with their personal needs in mind as it's pretty clear not everyone favors the same governor, scheduler, etc.. Any suggestions are always welcome. All future profiles will be added here for sharing and discussion. Keep in mind that results will always vary per device regardless on the settings being used.
All profiles have been grouped into 3 sub-categories; "Conservative", "Balanced", and "Performance", which are used to classify each profile based on their role and what they are expected to deliver to your device. The 4th sub-group is where you can find some of our best "Projects" in which offers 2 or more profiles per project. Make your selections based on your usage needs and apply what works best for you and your phone. We're here to help eachother out and with more options comes better experiences for everyone running this kernel.
So shop around.. pick and choose.. load and go!!
Installation
Download links will include the specified profile(s) as well as an "Adjustments" and "About" file. The "Adjustments" file is just a simplified view of all the changes made to a profile compared to stock settings.
1. Download the file(s) to your phone.
2. Copy ONLY the XML(s) (DO NOT copy the "Adjustments" or "About" file) to "/sdcard/KTweaker/Profiles" using a file Manager of your choice.
3. Open the Ktweaker app and click on the "Profiles" setting at the top of the slider drawer OR scroll to the bottom and select "Profiles & Scripts" then click "Restore Profile from sdcard".
4. The file you just copied should be listed there. Select the one you want to apply and confirm.
5. Make sure the "Set options on boot" setting at the top of the slider drawer shows a little green boot icon below it, indicating the settings will be applied upon reboot.
6. Profit!
IMPORTANT: Be sure to ALWAYS load your stock voltage table on BOTH CPU clusters IMMEDIATELY after applying a profile as most of these are based on an ASV10 CPU and may result in reboots!!!
1) Apply the profile
2) Quickly go to the CPU voltage for cluster 0 and click "more" and load default voltages, then click apply.
3) NOW go to the CPU voltage for cluster 1 and click "more" and load default voltages, then click apply.
4) Done!

Conservative
Asking Alexandria
This is a battery driven profile in which focuses on saving as much juice as possible while also maintaining stability and providing an extremely snappy feel to your phone.
Coming soon....
Bless The Child
Based on Ktoonservateq and aimed towards battery. This is specifically for all the battery hungry users out there wanting to conserve as much power as possible. So don't expect the BEST but rather decent performance out of this one.
coming soon...
Dead By April
This profile attempts to bring some of the best battery life possible to your device. It is similar to Bless The Child but takes things a step further with it's heavy underclocking as well as it's higher thresholds and online blocks to prevent other cores from coming online too soon. Although It focuses very little on performance it manages to maintain a fairly smooth interface for your average daily use.

Balanced
Balanced Bull v1
These settings are very special to me as they were my very first, dating back to the Galaxy S3, and is a profile designed for my own personal usage pattern. It has become notable for it's fairly smooth interface and amazing battery life. If this stacks up to your standards then I encourage you to use it!
https://copy.com/SKdHYHskn1NgLitp
ECLIPSE
This is a performance oriented option where great battery life is also expected to intervene. This not only will bring an incredibly stable, smooth, and snappy feel to your device but will also benefit towards longer lasting battery so you can love and enjoy your phone the way you were meant to.
coming soon
Ktoonsified v1
These settings are my settings, This is a performance oriented option in which also offers a great deal of battery life. YOU WILL NEED TO LOAD YOUR STOCK VOLTAGE TABLE THOUGH since there are 16 different bins of CPUs!!!

Ktoonsified {MOD}
This mod is intended to work as an alternative to the original Ktoonsified profile. It's specifically for the users experiencing issues such as screen wake and incoming call delays and media stutters on Ktoonsified v1 . Use this profile to repair most if not all of these issues.
NOTE: The adjustments text file will show you the few changes I've made from the original Ktoonsified profile.

SmoothManic v1
This profile was put together by none other than the BOSS himself, @ktoonsez!
The idea with this is to get the CPU really high on 2 cores when screen is touched and then bring them both back down really quick so UI is super smooth but don't kill the battery by hanging out at that high Mhz step.

Undisputed
This is a universal performance setup in which combines the essential elements of other profiles by providing equal battery life, speed, performance, and stability to bring the ultimate experience to your device.

Performance
Feed The Machine
The exact opposite of Bless the Child. This is a performance oriented option for all hardcore users. If battery isn't a priority for you then this is a great option.
coming soon
From Ashes To New
This is a straight performance profile. It's similar to Feed The Machine and Rebirthing in the sense that it syncs the cores to the boosted frequency on touch and almost instantaneously jumps right back down to 300MHz. The difference between the profiles is that this one makes better use of all the cores. However, due to the rapid scale down I think most people will find battery life to be surprisingly good for this type of profile

KTGaming v1

SmoothGaming v1
This profile is based on SmoothManiac v1 but with performance enhancenents to provide a much smoother gaming experience while hotplugging is active. Some of these enhancements include a much higher sampling interval as well as offline blocks to allow frequencies to scale and hotplug at a more reasonable pace.
NOTE: The adjustments file will show you the changes I've made to SmoothManiac v1.

Projects
Comatose
This project was inspired by the album of the same name by my #1 favorite rock band of all time, Skillet. It consists of 3 profiles of which are also named after 3 of my favorite tracks from this album (included in the "Extras" folder) and all focus on one key element; VARIETY.
As the name suggests, "Comatose" is geared towards battery conservation. It focuses on keeping CPU low for a prolonged period but utilizes 3 of the 4 cores on touch and the 4th on demand for fluidity. Sample rates have been decreased heavily as to increase polling and allow the other cores to quickly spike towards higher frequencies for a given task then immediately drop back down as if the component had been knocked unconscious.
The second profile is "Rebirthing". This profile will counteract the affects of Comatose by heavily boosting performance as a means to bring life and energy back into this profile that remains unconscious. Rebirthing is intended for those seeking a performance-based version of Comatose but who knows... For such a power hungry profile you may just be surprised by the great battery life it also delivers.
Some of you may not favor the heavy battery conservation that "Comatose" offers or the overall power consumption of "Rebirthing" and much prefer a mashup of elements delivered between the 2 and that is the purpose of "Whispers In the Dark". This profile is directed towards finding the right balance between these 2 profiles while still acting as a it's own profile. It utilizes most of the performance aspects from "Rebirthing" Like "Comatose" it uses a fairly high up_threshold for that extra boost in battery performance. The profile also idles at the same minimum cpu as "Comatose" but ALL profiles run at stock 2457Mhz.
All profiles maintain the same concept of rapid cpu polling. So yes, cpu will be working consistently but my theory here is that more polling will allow the kernel to rapidly check CPU usage, thus allowing CPU to change more frequently according to the load, which in turn will prevent persistent pegging of even higher frequencies and instead consume various amounts of power in various scenarios depending on your usage, consuming even less when a specific task has completed and immediately dropping the load.
This also applies to screen off states but that goes back to what was explained in this post regarding high vs low sampling rates and how they can greatly increase idle times depending on your screen off max.
coming soon
If you'd like to contribute to the Ktweaker Shop all you need to do is post the profile you'd like to share and include a brief description of it's purpose. It will then be tested thoroughly by the community and based on feedback will be submitted here in the Shop for approval and sent out to the dev so he can add the profile to the Shop in Ktweaker!

Good thread dude, loaded some of these on to my phone

[MOD] BlackenedMod v11.2 (Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL)

Introduction:
Hello everyone!
The idea to this 'project' did blossom after having an conversation with @pkgnex about the general idea of creating something else that follows what he started with his PK's Tuning Script but with a twist, mainly as a complement to his own thread that you can find here, but also with a completely different vision and focus on what the script itself should achieve (and deliver) for kind of results for myself and for all of you personally, of course, that wants to try it out and use it as a "daily driver".
Shortly explained.
This script is created with the goal of improving both the battery life and performance of our Pixel 2 (XL) devices, and after a whole range of configurations and various set-ups, I've come up with something that, in my eyes, is worth sharing with you so that you can try it out yourself and judge on your own, with constructive feedback on what can be improved or added in future releases - if desired. My philosophy is, and will always be, this:
If something can be improved or altered in a positive way so the average user can feel and see a difference, then go for it. Non stop.
The latest release can be found here.
Disclaimer:
This is presented as "what if". If this modification screws up or breaks anything for you, I am not the one to be held responsible. It's a free will to try out this kind of changes/modifications/addons/tweaks, just don't blame the inventors for eventual bad results and/or screw-ups.
Note: This script is not recommended to be modified or customized by the user.
Features:
Reduced battery consumption
Device specific enhancements for best possible balance between battery life & performance
Enabled, and fully configured, Boeffla generic kernel wakelock blocker
Disabled a lot of useless stuff at kernel level (Improves battery life as well as performance)
CPUSet improvements & optimizations
Schedtune tweaks (Improves responsivness)
Power efficiency enhancements
Wide IO block tuning (Reduces the possibility of hiccups, lags and overhead)
Possibly other miscellaneous things I've forgotten to write down here, both big and small.
Requirements/what you need for getting this script fully working:
An unlocked bootloader
Your own specific choice of kernel
Latest possible version of Magisk
Busybox for Android NDK (by @osm0sis) and SQLite for ARM aarch64 devices (by @ianmacd) Magisk Modules
Patience
Installation/How-To use & abuse:
1) Download the attached ZIP
2) Extract the scripts
3) Move both scripts to the following location;
/data/adb/service.d and give both of them the following permissions (0775)
4) Reboot your phone, let Android boot to the launcher and let Magisk boot service do its crucial magic (takes a few seconds before the scripts is fully up and running around behind the scenes)
5) Enjoy!
Note: If you still are unsure how to do for making my kernel configuration / modification work & be up and running behind the scenes, then please read @Phalanx7621 phenomenal guide here or check out @Phalanx7621 in-depth video here. The installation method is the same for both the first generation as well as the second generation of Pixels!

Nice addition my friend. Cya at telegram
Nice work!
:good:
Short note
If you have any kind of specific wishes or suggestions on changes and/or tweaks, either kernel specific or universal across the whole released kernel line-up for Pixel 2 (XL), that the pretty soon up-coming v1.1 should include (can be something that you have read about somewhere else or it is maybe something that I've missed) - send me a personal message asap and I'll take a deep look into it and see what's possible to do and achieve.
Or leave a comment here in the thread about it, if you prefer it that way.
Can we have this running along with PK's tuning script? I mean can we install both...

It is nothing that I am recommending because I am using a lot of settings that is tuned to deliver the opposite to what @pkgnex is using in his script. It can cause conflicts or issues down the road, in a worst case scenario, like battery life regressions or reduced performance because of an uneven mix of settings.
Some of my tweaks will be overridden by his, and naturally the opposite. Just for making it simple for you:
As I and pkgnex discussed a couple of days ago through PM regarding this "situation"..
- If you want a strict cutting edge performance boost, then use his script.
- If you want a balanced boost that enhances both performance and battery life as far as possible, then use my script.
But not both of them at the same time, because of the reason mentioned here above.
Nice to see! Kudos

Move 01tweaks to the following location;
/sbin/.core/img/.core/service.d and give it the following permissions (0755)
I would recommend you to use the awesome FX Filebrowser with the root addon for this, just don't forget to enable so you can show hidden folders.
See attached screenshot for how to do it.

Thanks for quick reply, I will try and revert if any thing required.

I have only tuned this for Pie/9.0 builds of Flash kernel.
You can always try it out and see if it works with the same (or better) results on Oreo 8.1, just don't hold me responsible if something gets screwed up in any kind of way(s).
EDIT: See my 'Disclaimer' note in the OP, @Prattham.

It should work... you should try it and report back.
If it doesn't, I know the script in my thread works on Oreo and Flash Kernel. This script and mine aren't that different... yet.

You can, but the way the scripts are numbered will mean that my script will over-write a few of the values tuned by this script. It should still be OK, and it might even work great, but it hasn't really been tested by either of us. It would better to try both and pick the one that you like best for your usage case and personal preferences.
As @xFirefly93 has stated, we have slightly different goals with our scripts. But, in truth, there is still a lot of commonality so finding a drastic difference between them is still unlikely.
Update!
v1.1 First major release
- Initial releases for every released custom Pixel 2 kernel.
- Added a few additional settings for further battery life, as well as, performance improvements.
- Shortened a few lines which explains what the parameters changes does.
- Packed everything into a single ZIP file with specific names for each kernel tuning script.
- See attached script below (and in the OP)
Enjoy!
Is there anyway to check if the script is running in the background? Also, I'm assuming we don't need to do anything after a kernel update.

I'll include a minor fix, that creates/pushes an output file to the internal storage after the script have been executed and is up and running, with v1.2.
Until then, you can always go to (for taking an example) the /proc/sys/fs/dir-notify-enable path and see so the parameter is set to 0, which is the value that I've set it to. Just as an easy & simple "fail safe".
Out of curiosity. What will happen if i don't have busybox?
Should my screen be super dim and not really adjust to ambient light anymore?

Some parts of the script won't execute at all without it.

I have enabled, and tuned, backlight dimmer for kernels that includes it. That's why the screen is a little bit dimmer/darker.
