4.1.2 stock will always get better battery than custom 4.2.2. however, so long as I can get at least a full day, then I'm happy. I really do not need 2+ days (although that would be great)

You can see I turn wifi off unless I'm using it. The single line under "Charging" is when I plugged it in to copy about 60mb of music over. Took about 1 minute, so not exactly long enough to bump the percentage. The screen is almost always set to 25-30% brightness. The heaviest period of use was yesterday, when I was browsing the internet and downloading and installing some apps, so I haven't exactly been going hard on it.
Another thing I'd like to say is that this phone is less than a week old. We all know batteries degrade with time, so I'm sure the freshness of the device has something to do with my extended life. However, it is mostly because I'm using a stock based 4.1.2 rom. When I had Slimrom 4.2 on it, it was getting just over 24 hours, with a couple periods of fairly heavy use(playing games, downloading/installing all my apps on a new rom and getting everything set up the way I like it). If I were to baby it like I did yesterday and today, I'm sure I would see about 30 hours on 4.2.

ROM: Orion AOKP.
My only tweaks were to edit the build.prop file: WiFi supplement scan interval from 30 to 1800.

It depends of the other "consumers". 40 % means that it's consuming 40% of the 100% total consumed at every point in time. So, if the overall battery drain is low, 40% from that, doesn't necessarily mean too much.

I am able to get almost 30 hours of usage and even after that I got 25-30% left. Using 11.14 radio + DeFrost 5.7 with SetCPU on ondemand. Been 15 hours(Mostly on standby with Wi-Fi + Nimbuzz on) and I still got 80% left .

Hours will be many if Display on time is low (below 4-5 hours) or similar heavy processing is kept very low. Easy to get near 2 days with that usage with even the stock ROM.

Then I'm doing something wrong... I did calibrate the battery yesterday and it's a bit better... almost no usage and it's now 12hours uptime with 75% battery..
Are there any apps to monitor the apps that use most battery? The stock information is too restricted

They end up using more battery usually. Go to accounts and sync and make sure it isn't syncing crap in the background, by default Sense syncs News and weather every 15 minutes or so which drains a lot of battery. Also I'd recommend using Gmail with push rather than HTC Mail(Unless using the newer Froyo one with Exchange activesync) so that it doesn't check for new e-mails over and over again. Also don't install apps you don't need and widgets also consume battery. Make sure things aren't using Wi-Fi if you don't need them. And flashing richard's OCUV kernel for HTC Sense based ROMs will also help(Along with it use SetCPU with ondemand/conservative governor).

Amazing battery life on 4.0.4

I flashed Paul's 4.0.4 ROM a few days ago and my battery life has greatly improved. I wouldn't normally make a new thread about something like this but I've seen a lot of people complain about poor battery life. Hopefully this ROM helps others as much as it helped me. The ROM is still in beta but it's surprisingly stable.
I always keep my brightness at 40%

Yeah, that's pretty low for a day and a half worth of usage. We already know that the Galaxy Nexus idles like a champ.
He still has 60% left so he's still got a lot of usage out of that charge. Could be looking at 2 days at that rate but yeah you don't really use the phone that much do you.

I've seen as low as 0-1% battery lost over 8 hours of sleeping before. So that plus WiFi for a full day isn't hard. I've been at 75% battery before with a full 24+ hours used but it was on Wifi with little screen usage and minimal things like texting and short calls and not much else.

I've managed 2 hours 40 minutes screen on time over 42 hours with eight percent left leaving brightness on auto, using AOKP and Franco 16.2.
I think that's pretty decent.

I second this, another thing is half the time people forget to mention their on AT&T not on Verizon, and they compare their 2 day battery life on GSM to an LTE phone...
My biggest battery hog is exchange syncing every 15 minutes, and with that and LTE with nothing but stock apps in the background I can get 2, 2 1/2 hours of on screen time within a day

Mine doesn't even last a day, with like 1 hour screen time.
Any tip appreciated, thanks.
Im also losing battery fast...even when im not using it, kept it in deep sleep, it still losing battery about 1% in 5 minute...is any kernel that good with battery life...there is something that eating the power...
me too is losing the battery fast, even after updated to ARHD 17.1 (JB), it sucks a lot where it could drop to 40% within four hours and minimal screen on usage. Really make me wonder if it is hardware problem because have flashed different ROM but still yield the same result.
hit it with a thunder...that should do the trick
I think the best battery life Rom it is venom viperx...after 24 hours with 3 g and data on I have 2%...the screen was on 2h13 m with auto brightness and calls 1h55m...some mails,facebook,xda...I think i'm not gonna try jb...this rom it's perfect and verry customizable:thumbup::beer:

I also had major problems with battery life on my HOX. My solution so far is to dissable synchronization of Google Contacts, This gives me a gain of at least 50% generally.
I've attempted to dissable services one by one, and Contacts appears to be the culprit.
Try this and let us know..
Edit:
Im on stock JB european rom
Been watching a movie on MXplayer and battery is down to 68% from 100%, screen on time is 1 hour 50 minutes. Which suggests that I can watch movies for 4 hours+.
Don't have the screenshots to prove it now that i've started charging my phone.
Oh yeah, matt95 measured it by the screen using 45% out of those hours, which equals 9.3 hours. Doubt that it's right though.

Maybe you should buy the extended battery kit?

try flashing different kernels and see which one suits u the best.every phone is different.u may also wanna underclock and undervolt. also change the rom may b if changing kernel doesnot work.ine suggestion.XenonHD rom with its stock kernel.
The stock battery is a joke at 1800 and the extended is 2100...I had both and both sucked although the 2100 was a lil better. I have the 3800 Seiko battery now and that will last me all day. Makes the phone thicker but its better then charging all day and worrying about what's killing your battery.

Turn off features when not being used like data NFC GPS.
Also avoid auto task killers
How much does it drain in one hour? Battery drain depends on many factors. The mains ones would be what kernel and ROM you are running as well as what "features" you have turned on. For example I am running CM10.1 with the stock CM kernel and I usually get around 16-18 hours of battery life with 1.5-2 hours of screen time.. that is with all of the features (gps, NFC, etc.) turned OFF.

How on earth can you drain a 3800mAh battery in one day? Nonstop internet radio AND 3d gaming on full display brightness?
I am currently using PA rom with franco kernel. Normal day = roughly 13-15 hours ish.
By normal day I mean around 30 minutes of talk time, about 1 hour ish web browsing and like what, 30 minutes ish of youtube? Of course, sometimes I am free and end up playing games on it for couple hours lol, but the stock battery seems to be plenty enough to me.
My battery makes it about 15-17 hours, with about 1 hour gaming,1 hour browsing and talk time around 1,5 hours...Xylon + Purity Kernel!
It is what it is. This is Wi-Fi only on this charge:

Turn data off when not using it. You can download a widget for that.
Keep screen brightness down low.
If rooted use setcpu and choose a screen off profile of 350mhz maximum - I find this a real benefit.

Mind you, my 2 hours GPS is using real GPS while going out on my bike. Drainage is around 10% a hour while playing music on the speaker as well. I never turn off GPS positioning on the phone.
Anyway seems like battery life on 4.4 is on par with 4.3... Would probably be a little better if using ART but qremote won't work so... :crying:

oh I see, my gps just stays on for simple things like facebook and whatnot, not actually using gps to navigate. thanks for the clarification.
I've seen vast improvements in terms of battery life on KK. But I ended up sticking to MIUI as the custom kernel in it gives me the best battery life I've seen on this device. I've done extensive tests on ways to improve battery life across all of my devices for the last 3 years and it mainly seems to boil down to the kernel. As we don't have any custom kernels that support 4.4 or a stable 4.3 kernel, we're stuck using the default CM kernel. The new MIUI over in the general section includes a very well made custom kernel that includes the intellidemand governor which would give me around 6 hours of screen on time in a days use with normal usage with the setup I use. MIUI also gives me the best deep sleep I've seen on.. Well, any device I've used lol. Never been a big fan of it but the battery life is what made me change my mind. It also includes a working version of qremote. The only drawback I've seen is that it's on 4.2.2 but man, is it nice. I'd post battery life screenshots but they wouldn't really be helpful as I've changed to the 9300mAh ZL battery lol.
