Experiences with ebay Wireless Charge Cover? - One (M7) Accessories

Stumbled across this on ebay:
New Wireless Charge Receiver Back Case Protective Cover Skin For HTC M7 ONE 801e
http://www.ebay.de/itm/161058907579...eName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
It seems to be essentially a plastic backcover with taped-in "wireless charge receiver" and a micro-usb plug to use for charging.
I really want wireless charging but this left me extremely cautious... is there by chance someone around here who actually owns such a thing and can share some experiences? I mean it doesn´t even say if it´s QI compatible and such minor facts, seller doesn´t respond :-/
Or is there maybe an alternative I haven´t found yet?

interesting, would be great if:
1. it really worked
2. the usb plug didn't stick out
3. the little wires didn't break
I would also like to know more about this thing

it looks awesome. looks like it just might work. would love to hear from anyone that got something like this

how many mA is the charging pad rated at ?

Honestly I think this thing looks really shoddy...I mean it looks like the kind of thing I could whip up in my workshop with a spare case. That said, I almost want to buy it, test it, and dissect it to use on a high end case.

exactly. That thing looks easily 100% fake. I pity anyone who believes in the product or that it'll work as advertised.

It looks really cheap. The wires stick out. I can see the wires getting torn from the port very easily

If it worked I would use it with an Otterbox and carve out the rubber charing port cover so the plug would be hidden. I think that would be pretty near perfect. The only part that really worries me about that thing are the wires that go to the plug, they don't look near the correct gauge.

Too bad, thought some experimental kind of guy already had this and could say if it really is as shoddy as it looks :-/

Well.. Even if it works, what kind of charging station would it work with?
QI? Powermat? Touchstone? doesn't say..

Bought this and I thought I'd share it with you guys. I haven't received it yet though so I can't comment on its quality but there is a xda thread where people have received it. It shipped in 6 hours after purchase btw. I know it's not the same thing but it's a good idea and for the price with free shipping u can't beat it. I have a wireless charging orb with my n4 so I'd love to find a qi compatible case for the H1.

The quality of the plastic based on those pics makes it look like something you'd see on cellphoneshop.net for $5.
I would pay slightly more for a quality dock using the connector pins that has some weight to it, maybe even a metal base. Unfortunately nothing like that is out and I need a dock ASAP, so they'll get my $30

My point was that the designer of this put little thought into the use of the product. I have enough "night lights" in my bedroom as it is.
Too bad it will not work for me. I will not remove my TPU case nightly to use this. I wish somebody would come out with a doc that has few inserts (similar to apple docs) so phones with or without cases would fit. I would buy 2 of them if that was to happen. One at work and one for home.
I can't believe you can get this phone for 29 bucks with a new contract in some places, then have to pay 30$ for (what looks to be) a cheap piece of junk like this.

Got case on phone, is there a desktop charger that will fit?

Got a TPU case on my phone and love it. Is there a desktop charger other than the seidio one that could fit it?

I got a few of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S2-S-II-I9100-ZENIS-DESKTOP-DOCK-CHARGER-CRADLE-/220883609072?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D270865448058%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5859734319996833550
and they have worked with all my Samsung Android phones WITH "thinner" type cases. When I put the Diztronics case on the GNex it didn't fit by a hair so I took a Dremel tool and ground down the front edge just a little. It looks a LOT worse in the picture (since it is close up and due to the lighting) then it does on my desk but it could also be done a lot neater. I kind of slipped with the Dremel. For the price, these docks can't be beat. They only make them in 1 size yet they advertise them as if they are different (and jack up the prices depending on the phone). There is NO audio or video out, it's simply a charge/sync/nightstand cradle.
Today I broke down and ordered the "RND Power Solutions Deluxe 2nd Battery Charger and Data Sync Cradle" from amazon.com (too new to post a link, just give it a search).
This may be what you are looking for, because it is described as having an insert you can put in/remove depending on the case you are using.
I should have this guy in-hand Friday and I can give you a more detailed review.

Not sure you´r correct, since they are saying in the reviews, that the sparepart charger doesn´t fit their type of battery, but its ment for the GSM version. .
So IMO this one on Amazon is for the GSM-version, but still wil work for the LTE versions phones, but not the spare battery they may want to charge..
That looks to be the same as the KiDiGi one listed on the Mobi site except the Amazon price is a lot less expensive. However on the Mobi site it is listed as a GSM (i9250) version.
I've been tempted as they also have a car dock with the same form factor but I'm really looking for something that looks decent but allows me to leave my Qmadix case on the phone.

KENU Airframe + N5 Wireless Charger = SUCCESS!

Hello N5 owners! I had a curiosity recently of using a Kenu Airframe and a Nexus 5 Wireless Charger as my car mount build. I went and bought the products and finally as soon as they arrive and test them, I can proudly say this TRULY works as a daily driver!
Here are some pics of how it would look and hold up the N5 charger:
This is a video demo I uploaded so you can see how it would look in action:
Sorry for the poor quality.

Thanks for the review. I have the Kenu I've been using. Looks like I have to get the Nexus charger. I already have 3 of the Nokia. I hope my Diztronic case is thin enough.
Where are you getting power to feed the charger. Does USB provide enough juice??

Can easily be modified with this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Nok...3091?pt=UK_Holders_Mounts&hash=item5401f82763

This is a pretty awesome idea, this is pretty much exactly what I want. Hesitant over the air vent though.
Asking for one of these for christmas: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008IOQ3K6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
But this is an awesome alternative, would feel bad ditching that mount though. The charging for it is an awesome idea but albeit a bit more on the expensive side.
This is really great clean and simple.
Beat me to it OP! I found elsewhere someone modded a qi car mount and it gave me an idea to do exactly this with my airframe! Unfortunately I don't have the Google charger yet lol. How well does the magnet hold the phone? I would like to be able to drive without issue, but with my case on as well. I drive on smooth roads but occasionally bump here and there (I dont slow down comoletely for speed bumps)

i have an airframe already (the best in car holder ive ever invested in) and aiming to get the wireless charger in the new year. Now providing the USB cable gets enough charge from the car its an amazing, no-worry way of chargin whilst on long journeys, plus it will ensure that i dont forget a charger again (i'm notorious for leaving chargers at home when going away)

Nah I got the design and have access to a few different 3d printers in class. Post your results of what you get when it's done!
Tapatalk Nexus 5 Master Race
Found a guy on Reddit who has access to a printer in his lab. Working on details to get one printed! Will post back once it's all done and received.
That looks great!
I'm also curious if anyone's created a version like this for the car.
I just got my Nexus Wireless Charger recently and have been looking at different options on how to mount it to my car dashboard without doing any permanent modifications. This printed dock/stand looks like the right idea.
I got a quote for this thing this morning and they want $300 to print it because it's a solid model rather than shelled.
Something to keep in mind before you guys get your hopes up.
Might contact the creator and see if he can edit to make it hollow?

Thanks Weston, I found a friend local who has one and I'm getting a lesson on how to use it Saturday to print my own. Once I do that, a designer friend of mine are going to sit down and refine the design to clean it up and make the stand as stable as possible
I just had one printed by a co-worker and love it. The most difficult part is getting the cable through and it cuts 6-8 inches off of the cable which is already rather short for the official nexus charger. Just keep that in mind.

[Q] Where to buy MagNector-X Adapter w/ shipping to Canada?

As the title suggests. I'm looking for a MagNextor-X Adapter seller that ships to Canada.
There was an ebay seller but ebay error shows this seller can't take payments anymore.
There there's the amazon one but doesn't ship to Canada. UGH
I found them on eBay from a California seller who shipped to Canada in less than a week. Ended up costing around c$60 for two of them (discounted shipping on 2nd item).

As long as you have the adapter you're good I suppose.
Don't buy the magnector. It doesn't fit flush into the charging port on the z3. U had to return mine and buy something off of eBay.

90% of what can be purchased on eBay doesn't charge at full speed and has an inferior magnet. I'd simply modify the adapter with a sharp knife or scalpel if if doesn't fit perfectly.
You can try but the thing that doesn't fit is the metal plate between the two charge connectors and I doubt you are going to be able to modify that. Someone posted a link to an official sony magnetic cable in another thread.

It "Fits" as far as the port snapping into place and charging. However, that's only the metal part, there's also the plastic from the charger that doesn't sit flush against the phone. This allows it to roll up and down and is very weak against this direction of force. So even when just picking up my phone, it slightly disconnects just enough that it stays on, but stops charging until re-seated. These are far from perfect, just acceptable...

Its a magenet, it charges my phone, is only a issue if I am trying to use it while it is charging which I don't. Works well. Personally planning to use a phone with a magnet stuck to the side isn't something I would expect to work perfectly as it is in the middle of the side of the phone and I would want to hold said phone.
you get similar adapter from ebay (chinese seller) for about 2$.

And what you're saying is the easy route... People might also say why pay 500$ for a phone when you can get one with almost the same specs for half a price.
You can really say that about almost everything.

One End is Micro USB, the other one is the magnetic charger.
Except these cheap adapters usually charge too slow to be useful. I have a pile of different ones lying around here and just one in ten works fine. The Magnector is actually reliable.
