Sorry, no idea.

i beleive that 4.3 and brick problem is only if you took the OTA factory update . i didnt use these files but i did use that exact procedure and i was on CM 10.2 which is 4.3.1 and had no problems. i tried a friends sim card from rogers( im on virgin mobile) and it worked great .

where's the 4.1.1 file? hotfile is closed so http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ doesn't work

Black Screen of Death
that is what i got right now.... what do i have to do?
chick this out

thanks
gonna try this now:
This screen does not always mean your phone is bricked. If you have a hardware locked vibrant, maybe, however, if your phone is not hardware locked, unplug the USB cable from the phone, Hold down Vol UP+Vol Down+Power, the screen will flash black, continue holding down all 3 buttons, you will see the "phone--!--PC" screen again, continue holding all 3 buttons, the screen will flash black again, release the power button only. This will put you into Download Mode.
No :/ Not working
If you can`t get in download mode ( 3 button combo ), you`re out of luck.
Okay :/ well i contacted my provider where i bougth my phone, and they said it should be send to repair. So on monday im going to send it. Anyone know how long it would take ?
Thanks for your answers.

Fix System Partition Error in Recovery and Unbrick Samsung GT-S5839i

Hi to all.
I finally unbricked my s5839i.
I dont know if it works for other Samsung models but it worked fine to my device. So if you are not sure dont do it.
1. First thing to do is to download Odin3 v3.04
2. Last thing you have to dounload this .rar file it contain all the files needed.http://www.4shared.com/rar/PyUe5q3X/S5839i_ODIN_AND_FILES_.html it worked fine.It is not my language but i couldn't find something else.
4. After you have finished dounloading, run Odin3 v3.04.
a. Click BOOTLOADER button and select: BOOT_S5839iBVLC2_REV00.tar.md5
b. Click PDA button and select: PDA_S5839iBVLC3_REV00.tar.md5
c. Click Phone button and select: MODEM_S5839iBVLC1_REV00.tar.md5
d. Click CSC button and select: GT-S5839i-csc_ext-IDELC1.tar.md5
5. Put your phone into Download Mode: Press Power + Volume Up+Down and in the Warning screen press the volume up.
Connect USB cable to your phone and the program must read the Com number it takes.
Click Start button in Odin3 v3.04 and the update process will start.
Do not touch or remove anything till the device rebooted and you can see PASS word on the program.
Thats it.Your phone reboots into android. It may take longer to boot ,so be patient.
Now you can change the language to your native one.
I hope i helped.
If you dont get it watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDRgFfPK6JE
If you follow these steps, you do it on your oun risk.

SM-T815 stuck in download mode

Hi
I've been asked to reset the tablet so I went into settings - backup and restore and choose to factory reset, tablet rebooted and since then it keeps showing the "downloading do not turn off target". I tried already all buttons combinations and I can restart it but it goes back to the download screen and there is no way to turn it off. Unfortunately I didn't thought to enable USB debug or whatever in development options. Is there anything else I can do to get it back? Either custom or stock rom, I don't care. Thanks

1. Connect the tablet to your computer using a USB cable.
2. Grab the latest firmware from either Updato or SamMobile (you have to register in the latter website).
3. Download Odin from odindownload.com (make sure to press the white and blue lettered download box).
4. Once downloaded, extract and open Odin using administrator privileges (right-click the program file and click "Run as Administrator").
5. In the top left corner it should say "COMnumber)" if you successfully connected your tablet.
6. Extract your firmware file that you downloaded.
7. Click the AP button, and select the .img.tar file (I think).
8. Go to the "Options" tab in the mid-left hand corner, and tick "Auto Reboot" (skip if automatically enabled).
9. Click the "Start" button in Odin.
10. Wait for it to complete. Do not do anything at this point, including disconnecting your tablet, turning off your PC, closing Odin and etc.
11. Once your tablet is done downloading, it should reboot.
12. Once rebooted and on the setup screen, turn it off
13. Press the following buttons altogether at the same time: Volume Up+Home+Power
14. It should boot into the recovery. If not, turn off the device and press Volume Down+Home+Power.
15. Once in the recover, using the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select, press "factory reset" or "wipe" and then select "yes" and it will begin.
16. Once done with the wipe, reboot your device.
17. Voila! If I am wrong in something here, hopefully someone can correct it.

SM-G960F/DS help needed with preparing for Root

Couple questions
I just picked up a SM-G960F/DS for experimenting with and am wondering about rooting it. I haven't put a SIM in it yet. Can it be used without a SIM card? I don't plan on using it as a phone just connecting it to Wi-Fi and experimenting with it. I am not sure what firmware to put on it. It came with BUILD R16NW.G960FXXU1BRF8. I live in Canada and I am not sure which firmware to download for it.
As far as rooting goes does it need a SIM in it to do any of this? Can i just add my Google account to get my Apps on it after rooting?
I have not rooted anything since my S6 and searched a bit and think this is the steps to root the S9.
I think that I should first be on latest Firmware before starting this?
Steps as I found info on process to get Root
got Odin3_v3.14.1.zip on PC and USB drivers - my SM-G960W connects okay
1 enable OEM unlock on phone
Downloaded twrp-3.3.1-1-starlte.img for S9 to PC
Use Bixby Key+Volume Down+Power to enter Download Mode and connect the device to PC USB
2 Open Odin and un-tick auto reboot in "options" tab, make sure that device is detected, Put twrp-3.3.1-1-starlte.img file into AP tab, Click Start
3 When Odin shows "PASS", disconnect the usb cable and press simultaneously the "Bixby key" + "Vol. Down" + "Power" buttons until the download mode disappears
At the precise moment the screen becomes black, immediately release the "Vol.Down" button and press the "Bixby key" + "Vol. UP" + "Power" buttons during 10 to 15sec to forcefully enter TWRP recovery
4 in TWRP swipe "Allow modifications"
5 Go into Wipe menu and select "Format data"
6 Reboot into TWRP recovery again, swipe to "Allow modification" connect phone to PC again Put RMM-State_Bypass.zip and no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip zips into external sdcard (or does this get done all in step 5?)
7 Flash RMM-State_Bypass.zip
8 Flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1 zip
9 Reboot the phone into system Setup Google account.
now it gets confusing as to what to do for root...
So any help?
I imagine that the first thing I need to figure out is what firmware to download for it.

How to reliably start TWRP

I have TWRP installed, and have managed to run it a few times. Now I cannot start TWRP at all.
From off, if I switch on, the following happens:
1) Screen with Samsung Galaxy A70 - Secured by Knox
2) 0.5 seconds later another screen, "this phone's bootloader is unlocked and it software integrity. .." and "press power key to continue..."
3) 5 seconds later, same screen as (1)
4) 3 seconds later, red letters "this phone is not running Samsung's official software"
5) 3 seconds later blank screen with "samsung" and then booting to android.
In my experience I have to flash twrp every time I want to use it( I don't know the reason but I couldn't fix it ) , for booting twrp on the other hand I turn off the phone first, then I press power button+volume down until the "this phones bootloader..." screen appears, here is the tricky part, you have to quickly let go of these two buttons, press power button, let go of the power button (after the warning disappeared) and then press volume down button (and hold it) until twrp logo appears, this happens really fast so you may need to do it a few times to get used to it.

Power off the device, plug into a pc, wait for it to start charge, hold vol up and power till it turns on. Wala boots to twrp. If you have magisk installed, you can use the reboot option within magisk.

Samsung changed how to enter recovery on Android 11. Power off device, plug into pc, wait for it to charge, then hold vol up and power till it turns on. Alternatively, if you have magisk installed, use the reboot options within magisk.
I did that. Thanks!
But it has gone to:
Android Recovery
Samsung /a70qxx/a70q
11/RP1A.200720.012./A705FNXXUB5DVB3
user/release-keys
Use volume up/down and power.
Reboot system now
Reboot to bootloader
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from SD card
Wipe date/factory reset
...
...
...
Where is TWRP? It seems it's gone.

That's because you're not installing it properly go back to my guide and follow it exactly and stop listening to these other people. I've been modding this device since it first came out with Android 9, I know every inch of this device. You're getting confused by what other people are telling you

It fails here, on this step. After successful flash of recovery.tar, power + vol down to reboot, cable still connected, nothing you can do now can bring TWRP up. The phone boots into Android.
EDIT: I think I have now got it. I will update in a few mins.

After successful flash of recovery.tar, power and vol down to reboot, as soon as the phone screen goes blank, immediately release all keys and press and hold vol up. Must be as soon as screen goes blank. The device will then reboot twice and land you in twrp splash screen. You must hit vol down and power after successful flash then when screen blanks, vol up. If you miss this step, twrp will not hold and revert back to stock recovery.
Here is the notes I made today:
****************************************************************
INSTALL + START TWRP
phone is off
press up + dn
insert cable
go into download (press up)
ODIN 3.14 + AP:tar(vbmeta.img+twrp.img), auto reboot off, press upload
when it succeeds, press dn + pwr until it reboots
then quickly up + pwr until it starts (no need to hold down)
this starts in TWRP
from powered off
press pwr button
goes into twrp or android(system) -- depending on what was used last time
if we used reboot->system last time it will now **Always** go into system!
to go back into twrp:
switch off
power cable until charge
pwr + up until it starts
****************************************************************
The above means that you CANNOT go back to TWRP unless you have a cable and a PC near by.
