[Q] Internal SD card is much faster than external SanDisk Ultra 32 GB? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I thought about switching the internal SD card with my external Sandisk 32 GB Ultra Class 10 UHS-1 SD card to increase the amount of usable storage for apps. I used SD Card Tester app to test the speed of both internal and external SD cards. Write/Read speeds for the internal/external cards were 34.1/38.8 MB/s and 7.8/15.2 MB/s respectively. Are these results basically correct? Would switching the internal to external SD result in much of a performance loss? Are there any external SD cards within similar cost to this Sandisk that have better Write/Read speeds?

As far as I know, we do not have a UHS-I capable slot, and without Apps2SD I've never benched what it can do.
Past that..... Your own math likely has your answer.

Class 4 - 16GB Micro SDHC Card now in UK

OK, 7dayshop are selling the following for £38.99 in the UK
Micro SD High Capacity (MICROSD-HC) Memory Card - 16GB Class 4 (118x) - Dane-Elec
Will it make any difference to the X1 if its a class 2 card or a class 4 card?
The classes defines the writingspeed of a memory card. A class 2 Card can write 2 MB, class 4 4MB/second. The real writing speed is much different. My 16GB Memorycard (Class2) is much faster than my 8GB Card (Class 4).

Yeah that true i have reliaze that after i have already buy a dan-elec MicroSd of 4Gb and it is slower in writing than my old one MicroSD 8Gb Sandisk (OEM with my xperia)...
So i recommend you to buy a MicroSD Sandisk this brand is faster and more quality...
And if sonyericsson choose it..Is for something isn' t it?
Also Kingston are good but Dan-Elec or Duracell (Are the same)
Are the worst i think....
Very slow.............
brand makes a difference.
I have a 16G sandisk class 2, althoguh I did not do any benchmarking, it doesnt feel any slower than my previous 8G sandisk class 4 card.
You won't see a difference if you don't do continuous photo shooting or copy big files from your desktop to your card anyway. I say for the purpose of the card (i.e. used in mobile devices) a class 2 is sufficient but I would still recommend getting from reliable brand like sandisk.

[Q] SD card speed test question

I purchased MicroSD 16GB Class 10 card and i used SD Card Sped Test app to test. It is saying it is class 2/class 4 card. Once it read/write it moves quickly but it stalls too often. I tried formatting again and same thing happns
I have never reformatted my SD card. Its a class 2 but says its in the class 6 category. Its a 16g card

My findings with an AData 32gb UHS-1 card

My 16 gb PNY class 2 card was getting too small so I decided it was time to upgrade. As far as I could tell the Vibrant doesn't actually support UHS cards, but since I'm only a couple months away I just got one anyway.
I tested the cards with CrystalDiskMark in two ways, via USB in the phone, and in my laptop with an older SD2.0 card reader. The only Android app I could find that did anything other than sequential reads was AndroBench, and I couldn't get it to point at the external card. I'm on ICS, not sure if that was complicating the issue. If anyone knows of an app that does random r/w operations, let me know.
Sorry for the PNY/AData confusion in the screenshots, the UHS-1 card is AData and the Class 2 card is PNY.

[Q] 32 GB Memory Card

Is it advisable to go for the memory card for S3 ? Would it slow the data access speed ?
I am thinking of to get 32 GB memory card, though i am open for 64 GB too provided its not very expensive.
For 32 GB card i found SanDisk, Samsung's own card on amazon, can someone suggest which memory card is better (for 32 GB) and for (64 GB) for Samsung Galaxy S3 (ATT) .
I would recommend SanDisk, from a reputable seller for either size.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about getting a memory card unless you're running out of storage space. External cards will be slower than internal storage, but with a sufficiently high speed card, you won't really notice the difference in most cases.
I wouldn't really worry about brand unless you've never heard of the company (in which case beware).
I only advised SanDisk because of the 64 gb size. I've heard reports of some people having problems. I personally have a 32GB class 10 SanDisk that has been great. I use it as my storage for most everything on device (even my TiBu folder).
I'll take the opportunity to note that an SD card is great for backup purposes. It made getting my newest phone up and running with all my old data a breeze.
Exactly. Tbh, it's the same card i had in my Inspire, which had no usable internal storage. Plus, put everything on the external and if the phone suddenly craps out you won't lose your photos, etc.

thank you all for suggestions:
narrowed down my choice to :

Couldnt decide which to go and whats the difference between these ? Are these even good ones ?
i'm using the 64gb sandisk class 10 with no probs..the only thing i had to do was what other users have reported: reformat to fat32. it's been really fast. it seems to perform a lot better when it's connected in media mode as opposed to the usb mass storage mode in my experience. if u can find one for about 50 bucks, I think it's really worth it.
I grabbed a Samsung Class 10 32 GB card from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TUQV0E/
From what I can tell it gets the job pretty well. Benchmark speeds are fairly close to the advertised speeds.
Thanks
i am confused between:
SanDisk 32GB Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC UHS-I High Speed Class 10 Card (New Version) with Komputerbay SDXC USB Reader
and
SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-032G-U46A

I think the mobile ultra is water and shock resistant.

The difference is the Adapter is microSDHC to SD whereas
the USB reader one is a microSDHC to USB.
I got the USB reader since it's USB and can use in anything. The micro to SD you could use for a macbook or for photo/video in camera.

The fastest Micro SDXC 64GB card ?

Do you advise the fastest Micro SDXC 64GB card (write 90MB - reading 90MB) for HTC 10 ? Verified Card Manufacturer ?
Thank you very much ...
Purchased:
SanDisk MicroSDXC 64GB Extreme PRO UHS-I (U3) reading to 95 MB/s, write up to 90MB/s
Hi,
sd card speed is limited by sd card controller. i have max write speed ~40MB/sec same speed on my Canon EOS 70D.
edit: read ~130MB/sec
