Stock aosp with very few tweaks :good:

They do very solid work. Their work was the reason I was able to port CM10 to my old HD2.

Can anyone make a general list of what extra features evervolv has?
I kinda don't want to spend extra time wiping and restoring my data if it isn't worth an upgrade from CM10.1
Last time I used Evervolv was with my Nexus One, and that was LONG TIME AGO
For example, am I able to edit the quick settings, and can I use CM themes?

Been running the nightlies on my T989D since they were first posted here, have had no issues/bugs/RRs/SODs
Only random issue I ran into is when I flashed a new kernel. Screen would randomly have a thick red outline. Went back to stock kernel, all was well.
Keep up the great work, I remember drooling over Evervolv on my HTC One V

[Q] ICS ROM, jmztaylor or Team D.I.R.T??

Hey guys i havn't been on here in forever and no longer know what to get. someone please help me. i know Jmztaylor has the Unofficial CM9 for Supersonic Nightlies. However Team D.I.R.T has 2 roms: Team D.I.R.T | CM9 Port [UPDATED 11 JUNE 2012] and TEAM D.I.R.T | RemICS-UX Port | ICS 4.0.4. in your opinion which ics rom is the best?
They're all different. It wouldn't hurt to experiment and try them all. They all offer a different experience. It all depends what you're looking for.

just wondering why do you say that one is the best?
My favorite is Team D.I.R.T's Cyanogen Mod 9, it has a little less is it then the rest of the Team dirt roms have. Making it a smaller file, but here's the kicker, you don't have to use go sms it has working MMS and native SMS split so you can use the stock which looks really cool. It also has the MIUI style battery. It's also very stable too no FC.
The remics rom is a great Galaxy S III alternative, right on your EVO, there's just a few bugs I don't like, like setting not sticking unless you restart the device, and having to use gosms.
Lastly, i haven't tried jmztaylors but i will as soon as I root my phone again.
All IMO of course.

It's fast and smooth mainly but the biggest plus for me is it's not AWD or Go Launcher heavy like others. Almost every ROM with a CM base are the same minus a few tweaks here or there and all use the above two launchers and this one doesn't.
This one has more of a real feel then the rest IMO.

Thank you for the reply
currently, I use JMZ's CM9. I haven't tried the other two. I did use Deck's, which was very good as well.
I haven't used Deck's for a couple months. I see he's some some more recent updates. He does good work. I just found for the tweaks I did, I was getting a lot FC and reboots. I use TB to get rid of a lot stuff and use other apps such as K9, Jorte, Trillian, Launcher Pro with Folder Organizer, Google Voice and so on. I do this on almost all ROMs after about a week or two.
Deck's had GAPPs, at part of it, baked in. CM9, you need to flash it. It does have Goo manager, which is nice when first installing to make sure you have updated GAPPS and stuff like that. I remove it after that.
I tried MIUI a few months back. I just didn't like the experience it gave. I found it to be very laggy. I also didn't care for the whole UI. I'm sure it's much improve today performance wise.
My taxing app I based most judgment on is OnLive. I use their universal controller. Between the controller, Jambox, and OnLive's high data usage, any system lag or hiccups became extremely obvious.
Just remember, all ICS roms are still basically betas or prebetas because not everything is working or working well. If you use Boot Manager, you can try them all with minimal fuss, and still keep your daily.

Let's not forget TEAM D.I.R.T's SaladBAR and Paranoid Android! RemICS-UX is cool and was my daily for a few weeks (rare for me) but I decided I wanted a more stock feel so I installed SaladBAR yesterday. It isn't for me and I was going to back to Paranoid Android (amazing rom) today until I saw Papa Smurf's quote that Mazda posted on the TEAM D.I.R.T CM9 port thread about the upcoming release (tonight):
"holy **** this thing is fast as hell"
I decided to stick with SaladBAR until that sucker hits

I think you might be confusing roms here. RemICS has working MMS. I am on it as we speak and it works 100%. As per settings not sticking I believe you are talking about Team Dirt's Cm9 v1.7 which had that issue. Not a dig by any means buddy, but be careful to get your facts straight as many people might be turned off from a rom by your review posted.
As for the OP's question. If it is between the 2 roms mentions in your OP....I would go with JMZ's cm9 as it is more up to date. I hear great things are coming for Team Dirt's cm9. But at the time of this post..its been some time since the last update and JMZ's has changed quite drastically.
On the flip side...Team Dirt's cm9 could be worth the wait for release

I've been running RemICS, and I love it. It runs awesome. It's so snappy: the thing just flys for me. It's funny because after I flashed it I felt like I just got a new device. I like how it replicates some of the Galaxy stuff. I like the Walkman and Memo apps. Battery life is great. I just pretty much really like how it runs.

[DEV][WIP] Project Llama [4.1.2]

(project) LLAMA
Website: www.projectllama.tk
Features so far:
- AOKP Settings/Customisation options
- Modified bionic for Camera fixes
- Modified msm7k common for GPS fixes
- Protips widget
- Flip-to-loudspeaker, etc. app called "PhoneMotion"
- Project Llama music player (pinata)
- Project Llama launcher (slingshot)
- Unique wallpapers designed by me (they're better than you'd think)
- Advanced settings app, music settings, etc.
The idea is for this to be packed full of features, run AOKP settings and fix all the annoying little things I didnt like when using CM or AOKP.
I am trying to throw everything I know into this ROM, I have arranged things behind the scenes with other developers to have this ROM built from source with modified device trees as well as other developers to have a Gerrit server and web server for the project. If you are interested in this project and wish to help me develop it then please contact me or just post on this thread.
Oh yeah, and Ivan is helping me a bunch
There is no download link as of yet, as I am still preparing stuff before a clean compile. This is also why I have been playing about with CM10 to try and get a clean compile of that, so I know the device tree works for project llama.
I also need a graphic designer if anybody's interested in designing wallpapers, bootanimations or themes for the ROM.
The devices that will most likely to be supported are:
* HTC Wildfire S (GSM)
.....(maintainer: Benjamin Gwynn)
* HTC Salsa
.....(maintainer: Benjamin Gwynn)
* Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
.....(maintainer: Ivan Brazza)
* HTC ChaCha
.....(maintainer: Lucas Arran)
Other devices that might be supported are:
* HTC Wildfire S (CDMA)
* HTC One V (GSM)
* HTC One V (CDMA)
* HTC Evo 3D (GSM)
* HTC Sensation
The reason this ROM is different is because it's a mix of stability from CyanogenMod, speed from RobotoMod and SlimBean and features from AOKP.
Gerrit currently isn't working for us, so if you wish to patch something, use pull requests for now
https://github.com/ProjectLlama
Please do not ask for a ROM download! It'll be ready when it's ready, a lot of testing needs to be done first, don't ask to test, we'll test internally
If you can speak another language then please say bellow
All other projects (besides CM10 for the marvel and CM10 for the icon_g) have been suspended in way for this.
Thanks to Eoghan for his server hosting!
IF YOU WANT TO HELP BUT CAN'T DEVELOP, PLEASE DONATE INSTEAD. WE DON'T NEED TESTERS UNLESS SPECIFIED.
Our new website is here: www.projectllama.tk
- Benjamin
Reserved
Also reserved, you'll like whatever goes here I guess.
Nice
I am not criticizing but i thought bugs will be fixed and then there will be ROMs CM10 based... Not like in AOKP
Nice! We'll waiting for a first release .
I speak spanish, by the way. I think I could help with the translation.
When this is built, could I port it to the HTC hero gsm, HTC Droid Eris and HTC hero cdma?
Oh and will this have an AOKP core? just to be clear
Nice to see a good rom in progress......I just hope it's built soon

CM10 is stable enough on our device imho, I can still compile CM10 This ROM will be my daily driver, so I'll work on it a lot. I can use the CM10 device tree in this, so if a bug gets fixed in Wildfire S CM10, it'll get fixed in Wildfire S Project Llama.

What will be the size of the zips? Will it be like "HUGE" like Roboto or somewhat less than 200 MBs?

Some already added features are:
* Custom music player (WIP)
* AOKP Settings menu
* PhoneMotion (pick up to answer, etc)
* Slimbean Phone, Contacts and Messaging
* General modifications (strings, etc)
This project is still a WIP, I'm hoping Ivan will lend me a hand soon and I have more features planned.

I went back to CM7 for a while, but my install is getting buggy and slow, so I think it's time to reflash JB. Everything sounds great. I'll provide feedback as soon as I try it out. In the meantime, I'd like to ask a question:
Does this ROM have DTA2SD baked in? If not, will it work if I flash it after the fact?
Thanks for all the hard work! I used your ICS roms for a while, and I remember them being particularly good.
Now this is what I've been waiting for. Thanks man I'll be flashing this in a bit.

If data hasn't returned at this point then you have a corrupted EFS. Hopefully you've unlocked with freegee and have an EFS backup that you can restore.
Restore recovery backup of CM.
Crash loops after enabling ART: use Aroma Filemanager or TWRP filemanager or adb shell to delete '/data/property/persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib'
then reboot
android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly: make backups of contacts, go to 'settings>apps>all>Contacts Storage' and clear data. reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik and cache.
Freegee saying device is detected as LG-gee and unsupported: edit /system/build.prop and change "ro.product.model=LG-gee" to your phone's model. Like the following example:
SPRINT EXAMPLE ONLY:
ro.product.model=LG-LS970

Good job brother, about to give it a whirl in a few. Since this is unofficial, would you take any feature requests? Would love to see Halo cherry-picked into the ROM, if ya could please!

Sorry, but no modifications will be made outside of the kernel being used.
The goal is just to have vanilla CM11 with the gee base.
It sounds wrong, but seems so right. Haha, cool man.
Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but what is the difference between this "Gee" base and the official Cyanogenmod base? I'm not trying to be rude, I really want to know. Sorry if it seems that way.

You can flash all the AOSP kernels we have on this build instead of the official gproj build.

Questions are good.
Gee - is based on the nexus4's latest kit Kat 4.4.2 sources and is also much more closer to a nexus 4 than an optimus g.
I find this base to be better performing; a very noticeable difference with 3D games and emulators such as FPSe and Mugen64AE.
Official-CM/gproj/ls970 - is based on nexus4's older jellybean 4.2 sources and is more like an optimus g than a nexus 4.
This base has IMO a better display color profile and lower frame latency with 2D apps.
You cannot use an official-CM/gproj/ls970 kernel on a gee based rom.

Stable as cm11 so far. I have been looking for this solution for a long time. Thanks.

Thank you for the response everyone! It helped a lot.
I have just a few more, I am sorry. So basically this is for Gee kernels and a slight better performance? Might try this out now. Is there any major bugs? And I know this varies from person to person, but is battery life on GEE based suppose to be better?

Correct.
The only bug I've run into is ART causing crash loops.
Battery life might depend on the kernel. Right now I build with xboxfanj's matr1x.
I plan on switching over to ThatKawaiiGuy's Franco kernel once the cpu governor bug is fixed and tested.

Well then looks like this will be my daily then if it is a little fast version of CM11.
Good thing art is the only major bug, since I don't really use it.

Even though this is plain ol' vanilla CM11, the conversion to Gee sources has made this ROM GODLIKE. I don't know if its a combination of Gee sources + the aosp kernels we have, but this runs so much better than the gproj version. Kinda almost makes me wish official CM11 would be converted to Gee, but I know we have some folks whose phones hates Gee ROMs, haha.

Mine used to hate gee ROMs but now gproj ROMs give me data issues. But yeah this version of CM11 is sweet!

After flashing this rom, I will say it is A LOT more responsive! Loving it. Only bug I see is in camera, the image in portrait is very skinny and in landscape the image is very stretched out. But I am on 4/03 and it could just be a cyanogenmod issue. Just thought I would address it. The laggyness cm11 gave me (not so much lag, it just felt like my phone wasn't responding as fast as it would on stock) made me keep going back to stock. Now that this version is out, it runs much better. Thank you mike.
Edit: Correction, the picture comes out correct when you snap it. It is just the camera app that looks wonky, but the picture comes out fine. A work around for the non stretched preview is change the MP to 12.8 instead of 13

As many of you know, I am much into building kk roms because I believe they offer a very good compromise between performance and the latest trend/features. Of course, a few common features are not working, such as:
- MMS
- Camcorder/video recording
- Screen recording
- OpenVPN (kernel issue: cannot acquire tun interface socket)
Unfortunately these issues cannot be easily fixed by me.
2. In order to let me put the right focus on future rom developments, please use this poll to vote for my custom roms.

Yeah, slimkat is also one of my top favorite ones. But it looks like a tough challenge. I tried to build it a few times, no clue yet how to make it to work.

My favorite is oxygen ROM android 2.3.7. I'm using my desire as my main phone through the day because I'm using my nexus 5 with a wind mobile unlimited data stick plan for internet at home.
Oxygen seems to be the only ROM that feels fast enough day after day and 100% stable. After using the nexus it was feeling really slow until I tried oxygen.
All the kk Roms look nice and work good for a short bit until they get unstable. I don't think it will ever be possible to fix these issues.

My favorite rom is MildWild Stable ROM. AOSP Gingerbread. Compile from CyanogenMod
My suggestion is SlimROM (not present on vote list) but voted on LiquidSmooth as it's the only one lightweight ROM from the list (as I understood it is based on SlimROM).
@ Dragonji ..Do you have a link for SlimRom..? Thanks..

Ok, I will give slim another try. Once I managed to compile SlimKat -- but telephony did not work, and then I got upset and demotivated.. :/
Unfortunately @vijendrahs has decided not to publish his sources. I am sure that I could have learnt a lot from his work for HTC Desire. :good:
Hey Desire'd folks,
Just to keep you in the loop.. I am still working on my SlimKAT experiment.. It has taken much longer than expected because I have decided to use PA's framework as a base as it appeared to me to offer the ideal base for our device in terms of purity and speed. Right now, I am adding on top Slim's features and also stuff from CM. I can't promise anything.. and I hope that my efforts bring us a working result.
In case I will get stuck with SlimKAT, I would switch over to work on a new PA release. Have you taken notice of Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 4 “Humble Huckleberry”? Is that really Desirable?
Cheers and have a nice day!
Hello could someone help me here I have a HTC Desire 510 and its stock in bootloop does anyone know I way out of it ?

Old thread that I completely forgot about him.
(2017-02-19) 665 downloads (75 per day) from the date of creation Slim-bravo-4.4.4.build.9.0-UNOFFICIAL-20161206-0005.zip, this sensational result for such an old device, which is the HTC Desire (code name: A8181).
