What about the bootloader?

Awesome. Are all the new Verizon 4.3 binaries included and good to go?

Flash the maguro bootloader. They are fully compatible (do not flash a toroplus bootloader under any circumstances though. only maguro and toro)

Is the bootloader needed?

No.

As it is a Nexus, probably not. But wouldn't hurt to be on the proper bootloader made for this version of Android. Obviously something changed or it wouldnt have a new version.

I haven't noticed a difference. I'm still waiting for the gapps to finish, but i flashed the maguro ROM, and it is fast.

Is there a MD5? Flash kept failing for me.
UPDATE: I downloaded again, and flash is still failing. Has anyone been able to flash this?

What is the proper size of the .zip? Copy never works properly for me and will complete before its ready.
~Nexus Powered~

Won't work for me either.

Can you guys try the dev-host mirror? It display the md5 as well

Yeah I'll give it a try. I'm not hopeful though, because the devhost zip is the same size as what I got from the copy link, and the one from copy won't flash. Are they different in any way?

Wouldn't flash for me either. Trying the dev-host mirror now.

E: Can't open /sdcard/0/AOSP 4.3.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Edit: md5 checks out for the dev-host mirror, flashing now.

Tried all links and downloading multiple times... Are the gapps supposed to be taking an hour to download? High traffic since this is the first and only 4.3?

I just wanted to post what I compiled while we wait for the big guns to put something together. Also, it's nice to have pristine builds too.
Oops. Double post. My bad.
I wonder if I can scare up that patched 'google now' apk somewhere off here, and we can install that over everything, until we get a proper JB set of GAPPS working?
Awesome, that was fast. Nice job!

Oh poop. I didn't even realize that wasn't working. I was just happy to have market. I guess it stands to reason that Google Now would be a gapps app :\

You are trying to use ICS GAPPS on JellyBean, thats probably why there is no Google Now.

Yeah I looked at what I wrote and it was confusing. I'm not sure if this is a total fail attempt so I wanted to keep low profile until I confirmed how well it went. Sorry for the less than clear OP.
Downloading now.........
Me likes me some pure untouched AOSP.
Other than the GPS fix, does this have any fixes like inverted compass, or for the Gapps that I see floating around like Picassa sync or anything like that? Would you ever consider adding split SMS? Is PicoTTS removed? Every time I use a stock ROM with it included it seems to give me issues with Bluetooth dialing. Any other unneeded apps removed like the standard Google Search since Velvet replaces it?
Sorry for so many questions. Just getting the basics out of the way before I try it.

It's my understanding that the GAPPs app is actually Velvet renamed to the search app so that you don't get the ugly search. As for the Picassa sync, I have that squared away on my Toro ROM and it should be on this one too (assuming it even flashes and boots normally).
I know there are some things I'll still need to address assuming the ROM is functional to bring it in line with the Toro version but I really had no idea if it would even boot yet so we're hoping for the best and expecting the worst.
I'll go ahead and start the download I guess. Always willing to help out

Sorry I edited my post as you were replying. Does this have the inverted compass fix? Might not be an issue for the Toro but on ours the compass points in the direction of which the screen is facing, so most ROMs here invert it so it faces the direction "you" are looking.

[ROM][4.1.2][AOSP] LANIGHT (Project eXtreme Butter) [v8.5] *As stable as you want it*

This is it folks. If you think you've seen fast, you're in for a surprise! Please NO derivative work without permission. This rom is originally built for captivate. Here's the link.
LANIGHT is a pure AOSP build, meaning it is NOT CM or built from CM source, so please do NOT ask for CM features. However, it does use device/hardware files from CM10 and rest from Nexus S.. so any device specific problems that is in CM may or may not be in LANIGHT. If you don't like AOSP, move on.

Hi,
First of all, thank you. I've been waiting for an AOSP rom.
A few questions...
1. I know you wrote about the partitions but I don't really understand - are those the partitions used by CM10 nowdays, the ones before, or the very old ones that had all the "low storage notification" (the same I believe are used still in CM9)?
2. In features you wrote - KC1 Modem(datadata) & JVT(nodatadata). What do modems have to do with partitions?
3. Why is there a need to wipe data 3 times? If I come from GB stock rom, will I have to do this as well?
4. Will you integrate the wifi/lagfix and tv-out patches into the rom or will we have to flash it everytime we flash this rom? (meaning everytime we flash a new version)
Thank you and good luck!

Its very subjective but its perfect for me. Better then GB. Again your mileage may vary.
Hi,
I just read some of the original post in the Captivate section and saw in the second post (about the battery life) that you can try to toggle fast dormancy. Do you know if its possible to do in JB? I know its possible in GB with a secret code in the dialer.

So if I read the link correctly, this has the ability to switch where your sd partition is located to easily switch to jb 4.1? If it is that would be sweet

About:
I made this ROM for myself. I wanted a perfect untouched version of the Google Edition firmware without root, zipalign, deodex, mods, etc.
I know some of you would like that too so I decided to post it here on XDA. You can root the phone afterwards if you wish.
The only mod in this version is the faux123's kernel. It's still stock but with some minor changes to fix Security FC and add exFAT support.
==================================================
Special Thanks to:
@faux123 for making the kernel fix for the Security FC issues and adding exFAT support
@The111 for providing me with the untouched system dump
@nintendolinky for fixing the SD Card Read-Only issue
@Chainfire for SuperSU.
==================================================
Changelog:
Version 2.0 (23/09):
- New stock JWR66Y.S003 kernel with Faux123 fixes
Version 1.0 (12/09):
- Initial Release
- Old Faux's Kernel for the moment.
==================================================
Instructions:
Boot to Recovery
Wipe Data if you are not coming from a Google Edition ROM
Flash the zip
If you want root, flash SuperSU
Reboot
==================================================
What's not working:
Sim Unlock gets stuck
Touch to focus on HDR mode
Google Wallet*
*It might work if you flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2163191&d=1375578553
*It will change the build.prop of the ROM to Sprint (L720) to make it work. Thanks to @yeahmann for the zip.

Yes, but I'm not going to do that since this is an untouched version.
But I provided a zip to change the build.prop if someone wants it.
Since Google Wallet is not supported in my country I have no way of testing it though. Let us know.
Another question. Why is this almost 100 MB larger than almost all other releases? Is this how big it normally is? I want fully stock GE Edition and im glad someone finally did it. Almost did it myself :3
I will let you know if it works or not. Going to test the wallet app after I see my recruiter.

Read the "About" section. The only change I made was include the Faux's kernel to fix the FC issue.

Since I did not delete any files from the original nor deodexed the rom that's the normal size at the end, no need to worry.
Let us know if Google Wallet works after flashing the modified build.prop.
Will this work on my AT&T S4?
google keep and titanium backup (back up to sdcard) is working ?
People in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348272 are complaining about the phone getting hot and about not being able to save photos to SD Card. Did some one experienced any problems like these with this firmware?
I think I'll stick with JWR66V.S001.130708 for now.

I don't have an SD Card to test Titanium here with me right now.

Thanks for the ROM, and the effort of course. I was having problems with my extSdCard and will test it, and will let you know the outcome.

The ROM is, like all the other recent 4.3 ROMs, stable and fast. Unfortunately the extSdCard issue is exactly the same. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Many thanks for the effort. :good:

Just one quick question. My i9505 is currently on baseband XXUBMGA, and working fine. However, I was just wondering if it would be possible at all, and and advisable to install the stock baseband which comes with the i9505GE 4.3 version.
I did test your rom and it is pretty clean and does work really smooth indeed. But the phone becomes a lot hotter than with the previous leak and also battery seems to drain really quick while browsing with chrome. Also the sim unlock bug is still there. I just did a restore of the previous build I used.

Thanks for reporting. I updated the bug list on the first post.
Unfortunately these issues are out of my reach to fix. I know little about coding roms.
As soon as our awesome devs fix them I'll sure include in my rom for you guys.
Regarding battery life, for me it's the same. It lasts for a day if I let it on 3G but it drains like crazy with 4G.
EDIT
I was reading in another forum and the problem you have with ExtSDCard is probably because you have it formated as exFAT which the Stock Kernel does not support.
Format it as FA32 and you won't have an issue or wait for a custom kernel with the support.

I don't think that's the reason, because in previous stock version the SDCard in exFAT works just fine for me. But thank you for your effort! I'll keep an eye on this thread.
