Thanks mate,
did you use original AndroidManifest? I was trying and doing the same mod with other battery icons, but... well, my navbar and statusbar disappeared!

Did you sign it with the platform key?
Also, you can do this without messing with Xposed

If you mean using original AndroidManifest and META-INF, I just used original Manifest, there was no META-INF folder from my Apktool extraction (see screenshot below): I picked up the AndroidManifest.xml from the original one and pasted it inside the build after the first generation, then I generated the APK with the old Manifest.

No, I mean signing it with the platform key with a tool like Zipsigner on the device. That's the best way, copying back the meta-inf will not work.

Unfortunately I'm totally unprepared, I read somewhere here on the forum that META-INF was enough. Would you please link me Zipsigner and/or a procedure to better understand the process?
BTW, I really appreciate your help

[BOOTANIMATION) Custom bootanimations for CM Nightlys/CyanogenMod 6.1.1

So some users asked for my custom boot animations, and then
I had the idea to start a topic where the users show their
created bootanimations!
Bootanimations should work at the CM Nightly Builds too!
Now time to start with my first try!

You've been real busy lately... Your all over the themes section
Anyways, thanks for your work
Yeah right, but today a bit tired, had night shift still friday
are we just supposed to copy the file to /data/local? I did that and I just got a blank screen for the boot animation
To data/local it needs some editing and symlink

Okay cool...two questions tho. what kind of editing and what is symlink?
haha sorry I'm a semi-newbie. Thanks a lot for you help!
Look at the modded framework thread and download "Color Stat"
open with winrar at look at the update script,there is the bootanimation
symlinked to data/local.

okay so I have it extracted and I see the bootanimation.zip in the data/local folder but what do I do with it from there?
Im reading alot about aliases does that have anything to do with symlink?
Creat right folders,Updat Script,zip the files and sign again.
Difficult to explain for me I´m from germany.
Maybe there are other methods to do this!

anyway to make a zip to just flash through recovery?
The dancing android is epic thanks for that one I will be uploading it right now.

dancind droid is awesome
once you download the file, extract the bootanimation.zip file to the root of the sd card and then using either rootexplorer or terminal copy to /system/media

Polaris Office 4.0

My friend extracted those files from his Galaxy S3 and sent them to me. I modified to make it work on Galaxy Nexus without the water mark that says "Your device is not supported by the lib". Here are instructions:
+ Extract Polaris Office 4.0.rar -> open "Polaris Office 4.0" folder -> open "app" and "lib" folders
+ Copy all files in those folders to your SD card
+ Open Root Explorer
+ Copy PolarisOffice.apk to /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r--
+ Copy libpolarisoffice4.so, libpolaristextprint.so, libtfapps-polaris.so, libtflua-polaris.so to /system/lib and set permission to rw-r--r--
+ Reboot your phone
No watermark or banner

CM10
It looks like even with the polaris libraries there is still another Samsung library being called
after copying the Samsung LIBs it still FCs when attempting to reference android.sec.clipboard.clipboardexmanager
which appears to be referenced 60 times in 6 files of the PolarisOffice4 code.
we'd either need to find a way to implement this on the non Samsung ROMs, or remove these references in the code and hope it doesn't break it too bad.
Found this on other forum could it be the problem?

How to build apps icon pack:
Things you require:
-Base VRTheme-Here!(Don't worry there are no trojans)
-Some icons-Here are my AOSP icons.
-Required apps from the ROM which you want to modify.
-Notepad++ for changing updater-script.
-Any resizing tool.
-A brain to avoid mistakes and bother me with stupid questions.
-Kindness to press the THANKS button below.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Steps:
1. Download all the things required.
2. Open your ROM and copy all the apps and move them to a seperate folder. Here we will take only 3 apps-Browser, Messaging and Calculator.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now extract these apps using 7zip or winrar.
4. Now open the app folder, go to res and find the location where the icon of the app is present. These are generally present in mipmap-xhdpi or drawable-xhdpi. For e.g. in Browser app it's present in mipmap-xhdpi named as ic_launcher_browser.png:
5. Now extract the VRTheme base folder and go to vrtheme->system->app and make a new folder their with named as appname.apk(Here appname refers to the name of the app). For e.g. Browser.apk in my case.
6. Now make res folder in it. And under res folder make another folder which contains app icon. For e.g res->mipmap-xhdpi in my case:
7. Now place your modified icon in it and rename it to the original icon name. For e.g. ic_launcher_browser.png in my case. And resize it to 96X96. Please do not resize mdpi or hdpi icons or else they will pixelize and blur.
8. Do the same for other apps. In my case calculator and messaging.
9. Now give this icon pack your name. Go to META-INF->com->google->android and open updater-script with notepad++ and in second line replace alokbina with your name. You can practically change almost everything under ui_print in updater-script but remember that it should be in the format ui_print("ABCD"); . Here replace ABCD with whatever you like.
10. Now you will be having 4 folders- data, META-INF, system, vrtheme and an image named as preview. Zip all these and rename it whatever you like and flash it with CWM and you're done! Enjoy your own icon pack Feel free to THANK me :laugh:

VTS(Virtuous Ten Studio) is easiest way to do not only de/recompiling but also accomplishing some more tasks related to android with easep how could I forget?)
Apk Multitool is also good and takes care of your edited files to be be automatically replaced in original apk, reducing the errors drastically

I am deodexing the system will tell the results soon and even compiling decompiling is also too complex and adb root commands need adb insecure app but we can use adb root apps in power off mode but all other options like adb reboot reboot recovery works fine
