I have been reading reviews about the Galaxy S4 mini. Does the Galaxy S4 mini have Gorilla Glass protection ? what about the back camera? Yes? No? GSMARENA says it has, but I can't find anything online to back it up.

For me none of the above. Next Nexus phone. That said no one can tell you what to buy. Do your research, play with the phones and decide. Do you need a phone now? The Note 3 is not even out and there is no ETA.

I would get the Note II now and then get the Note III when it is released. I use my Note II as my laptop replacement, so I like the bigger screen.

At the moment there's no custom Rom for s5 but maybe there will be some later and the s5 is faster.
But the stats aren't really better

Go with the S4 Mini! It rocks! More value for money! Cheap. More mods. Better looking.
How aggressive is Knox on the S5 Mini?
Just remember, the S5 Mini has an Exynos chip, and Samsung does not have a good track record on releasing sources for those. So there might not be any custom AOSP based roms for it. It also lacks OpenGL 3 support, whatever that will mean for future Android versions.
There aren't any big differences from the S4 Mini to the S5 Mini other than the fingerprint and 16GB ROM.

Well....... Far more resolution is not actually that true since the S4 Mini uses a full RGB matrix and the S5 Mini the crappy pentile matrix. I take the S4 Minis display any day over the S5 Minis, even though the S4 Minis is a qHD. It's more pleasing to the eye and less pixilated!
Just like S4 Mini the S5 Mini too has some variants.
3G International - Uses exynos 3 chipset(3470) 4 X Cortex A7 @ 1.4GHz + Mali 400MP4 GPU - By far ugliest and creepiest chipset with no guarantee of kernel sources.
LTE International - May be the same exynos 3 chipset. If not then most likely snapdragon 400. Then just like I9195 this will be flooded with custom roms.
3G Dual Sim - Snapdragon 400 4 X Cortex A7 @ 1.4GHz + Adreno 305. Good chipset with a lot of support. But I think just like I9192 aosp roms will be very less for this S5 Mini.

i have to agree on that somehow but i stick to bigger resolutions .. but when it comes to buying samsung phones newer are better ... you get more software updates plus it has led notification people !! :silly: ... i hoped we get that in s4 mini but it didnt and with kitkat there is no bln

Both phones share the same shell and thus have the same measurements.
I can give you my example: my Otterbox Defender case was designed for the original 9300 S3 but it's also a perfect fit for my S3 Neo+ 9301i.

This is my second S3 Neo (GT-I9301) and so far I have no issues with S3 accessories compatibility on eBay including cases, docking station, screen protectors etc.

Nope, it's not going to work because the CM installer identifies the phone and the modell and rom number isn't the same nor the hardware. Just the size and the shell. It could be awesome if the I9300 compatible ROMS would be available for I9300/I9301I users (i would have android 7.1.1 if this could be possible).
I don't know if it's because of the cover (Spigen Liquid Crystal), but since I moved to the Note 7 from my previous S7 edge I need to move a lot the device to find the working NFC zone of it when doing a payment.
Therefore does anybody know where is the NFC chip EXACTLY located in the SM-N930FD?
