Awesome deal! Thanks for the info.:good:

Sweet! Just ordered one. Thanks for the heads up!

Just a heads up for those that don't read the description, This is just the pad, you have to use a USB charger to power it, and it's designed for a 2 A charger. The stock nexus one may not work.
Requires 2Amp charger to function, sold separately.

I see that the N72 charger is only 1.35a. I thought that the N71 charger was 2a, but I could be mistaken and am too lazy to run upstairs and check.
Either way, I'm sure I have some 2a USB charger lying around the house somewhere, or could get one for a few bucks on Amazon. I'm not sure if that's just a suggestion or is actually required. I think it comes down to how much energy your device can draw. I imagine that, unlike a directly plugged in device, using wireless chargers will result in a slower charge cycle as a larger amount of the energy is lost, so it probably needs to be greater than what it normally uses. I know that, in general, you can use a higher mA output than what is required, as the device will only draw what it can/needs, but not sure about how wireless works in this regard.

I've followed a few reviews on this one since I have the S4 and was considering picking up the whole kit. The ones that mentioned trying another charger stated it didn't work. Wireless charging does work a bit differently since you lose some energy transferring the power to the induction coil.
I don't have time to source the reviews right now, but that might point you in the right direction.

This QI charger seems to be made to fit a Galaxy Phone. The edges seem to be tapered and possibily not allow the N7 to fix flush thus no charging. 50% off sounds like a good idea but it is a waste of money if it doesn't work.

Sold. This is dirt cheap for a quality Qi Charger. The mat seems larger then depicted on the Samsung Website and it doesn't show the "cloth-like" top. Anyway, confirmed working. Can't wait.

This pic is what made me want to look up the Samsung wireless charger... Then I found the promo! Glad I was able to help!

just a heads up guys, searching across my multiple chargers in the house as a previous user mentioned the hp touchpads charger is 2.0a as well as the first gen nexus 7. As far as I can see motorola, htc, lg and even the new chromecast chargers are lower than 2.0a and thus not good for this pad.

Wireless Qi car charger mod

Weekend project. Rip apart my WCP-700 Qi charger, remove the guts, and then integrate it all into the ash tray of my car. Here's how it turned out.
All mocked up, held things in with hot glue. Not worried about how it looks since I'm going to be covering it once the electronics work.

This is the 12v to 19v converter I used. Ordered a cheap cigarette lighter adapter from amazon to do the conversion. The WCP-700 needs a 19v (?) 500ma power source. The one I found output 19v, 1.5A.
Almost finished product, it all works with the exception of the cover.
Video of the final product! Wanted to keep the ash tray door and the 12v power source, I think I did pretty well.
That's awesome.. Great thing to have

Bought it off of amazon a few weeks ago, looks like they ran out I was looking to buy another once since I ripped this one to shreds. :\
Hah, looks like you won the race
Questions:
Did you use the Amazon charger that I put in the other thread, or did you find a better option?
You mentioned an issue with the N4. Was this position based, or do you think it's a power/signal issue?
Thanks!

1. I used the LG WCP-700
2. I think it's a little bit of both. The way the transmit coil sits in the ash tray, it ends up being a little crooked. I think the glass back on the N4 is just think enough to prevent it from working correctly. The coil I bought for my S3 is a tiny bit offset as it is, plus it only has a super thin plastic back to go through.

Used this one off of Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J0Y87S/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
Note, the plug is too large. I soldered all the connections so I wasn't interested in matching up the plugs anyway. The stock plug on the LG looks to be about 3mm OD, center positive.
Looks good, I'm not sure about having to press the phone down in there like that, I think that would scratch the sides at some point?
Other than that, pretty awesome. I liked my wireless charging mod, but I finally stopped using it because I wanted a protective case.
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-T999 Tapatalk 2
Here is my simple question.
Did you try running the Qi charger with a 12v input before doing your stepup to 19v?
I have read at least two people who claim that even though the input is rated at 19v it will work with 12v.
It makes sense to me that 12v would work since the output is only 5v anyhow.
I know your setup is all need already but can you or anyone else confirm if that is true or not?
Really quite interested in a mod like this but I don't really like the idea of stepping 12v up to 19v back down to 5v if I don't have to.
And I would also rather not spend the extra $12 if I don't have to.
Thanks!

You may encounter trouble because of the One's all-metal body. Your case will need to completely isolate the coil from the body for this to work, if memory serves me right. Admittedly, it is aluminum, so I'm not altogether certain it will be an issue.

I would really like to see something like this. A couple of challenges I think would be keeping the plug area on the bottom to as thin as possible and second would be to keep the case as thin and small as possible.
I wish you luck!

Post pics of it on the phone and let us know what kind of charger your using. It looks like you could rip off that coil and place it in any case if it's thin .
Definitely report on results. I tried to make something like this for my One XL, and while it worked as far as charging went, it was unpredictable and seemed to make the phone unstable, though I could never figure out why. I suspect it's not just the charging current but that the phone's charging circuits and drivers need to be tuned for wireless.

you need the Type b for the HTC One, it seems to work but as it's only 500mA at 5V the charging is

It is very slim and unnoticeable behind a tpu case, the connected usb does not stick out that far either

Thanks for letting us know about this. I'd not seen that, but it looks like just what I'd like to try and fit between my phone and case. The lack of wireless charging was the biggest reason I held off switching from my DNA to the One. I love the convenience of just plopping my phone on the orb charger during the day. Nfc doesn't connect to the battery of the phone and the coil is not inductive as it is a derivative of close range rfid
A quick tip for the add on qi pads with the HTC one, as the USB is not in the middle you can't position the pad straight up or the curved back makes it hard to get a connection. Put it on a bit of a diagonal so the pad is in the centre of the back

CHOE Qi wireless charging pad questions

Hi all
I've been looking for a really cheap wireless charging pad for this amazing tablet cause they about $140 in the store by me in South Africa. I found this one but I was wondering if anyone has had experiance with it. How well does it work and how does it connect to the wall as we use different plugs in South Africa and we also work at 220v.
Basically I wanna know if it would be compatible with the tablet and with South Africa's systems?
I live in New York, USA. I bought one but it's shipping from China so it'll take a while to get to me. However, I will report back once I get it and try it out.
I'll tell you my experience but I have absolutely no idea if it'll work with South African systems / utilities / electric configurations or not.
It is powered by a USB cable. Thus, if you have a power brick that's compatible to power USB devices I'm sure it'll work fine.
P.S. As a little FYI the white version is slightly cheaper if that matters for anyone.

Took exactly 7 Business days for it to arrive to me (Ordered Aug 11th evening arrived Aug 20th). Right now it's charging my Nexus 7 (2013). It's maintaining charge rate even with the screen on the entire time (using instant messaging / texting); I'm not really using anything too battery intensive.
So far so good. I'll put it through the wringer for the next week so we'll see if it acts funny or stops working. However, for the past 30 minutes it's been okay.
What case are you using with it?
Edit: nvm, saw your other post, can you recommend a case similar to it in the same price range

Yeah I'm looking for another case or possibly a sleeve. I'm seeing what turns out in a thread about the Poetic and the Moko
For those who are interested in this topic the case Blade Zero was referring to that I have was the rooCASE Dual-View which does NOT work with the CHOE Qi charger.

So after using it for a few days, it's pretty good. I've used the CHOE with my Samsung Galaxy S III (i747) with the Qi receiver and my Nexus 7 2013
One minor annoyance is that the CHOE device itself has a blinking blue LED to indicate when it's charging. I don't know if that's something other people would like, but personally I find it redundant since my devices will say on their screen if they're charging or with an LED indicator themselves. This matters for me for 2 reasons: a) My phone blinks with a blue LED to indicate when I've received a new text message, so this throws me off there, and b) I am an energy Nazi at times, and when I see that blinking blue LED go off when I hook it up to my solar panels, I feel like that's energy not going into my battery reserves or in my phone / Nexus's battery.
The Nexus 7 2013 does charge at a decent rate, but during energy intensive operations (streaming with ChromeCast, IM chatting on Skype, and browsing the web), it did lose charge faster than it was gaining through Qi, which didn't happen under the same system demands when charging through USB cable. However, under normal use, without excessive abuse as previously mentioned, the CHOE Qi charger was able to charge up to par.
Only complaint I have is that I wish the surface of the device was some sort of rubber instead of hard plastic, because if my devices aren't on a flat surface they can easily slip out of place (or completely off the device) and discontinue charging. I've done a splendid job by jury rigging the device with rubber bands!!! to prevent my devices from slipping off.
For a budget Qi Charger I'd say it was definitely worth it, and probably going to be harder to find a deal. It also came with a USB micro B cable with the Charger, with a length of about that of the stock Nexus 7 2013 cable.
My current Nexus 4 qi mat works perfect with my new nexus 7. Worth a look if you use multiple Android wireless charging capable devices.

Look for the Morceo TX-5600. It is the EXACT same 10,000mah wireless charger as the Choe one, as they are both made by the same manufacturer.
Shipping is fast from Choe, I had mine within a week, just know that the black one has a GOLD band around the side, it is not mat or bronze like it looks in the pics, it is GOLD. At any rate, mine from China arrived in a weeks time via Amazon. The Morceo version (Identical) is on Amazon & ships from Amazon, for $60.00.

It's plugged into the charger that came with the Nexus.
Use Wireless charging with Slimport
Has anyone used a wireless charger with a slimport connected and outputting to a TV? The stock charger connected to the device doesn't charge my Nexus 7. It slowly discharges instead. I wanted to know if I can keep the Device on a wireless charging pad while connected to slimport.
if anyone has both the hardware, can u please try it and out provide your review.
Thanks

PIMT! I ordered the black one, as even though I like the idea of white electronics, I feel like they're too "attention-grabbing". Also, I think the black one was cheaper when I ordered it.

Looking for a wireless charger that is smaller than the phone

I am on a hunt for a good wireless charger that has smaller dimensions than the N5 (height & width) and is relatively thin AND is USB.
I want to mount it inside my car mount to get wireless charging whiled docked.
Thanks!

I am using the T200 wireless charger. It is very small and It is working flawless with my Nexus 5. Also it still power the phone after the battery is full like an directly connected USB charger.

It is also working well with my SPIGEN slim case (have just this case)
How about some thing like this? If you get a QI charger that has a battery pack built in you would not need to have the charger plugged into your car all the time and have to see ugly wires. Plus you can also charger your friends phones at the same time if they need. How do you plan on adding the wireless charger to your car dock? Seams like a fun project, good luck. Keep us updated.

The LG WCP-300 is also similar to that, if you're looking for a "name brand". Of course, the LG is more expensive, and slightly thicker.

The LuguLake is too wide to fit. Thanks tho.
I have a Proclip adjustable mount that has some space between the back of the phone and the front of the plate. All I am planning on doing is finding something that will fit in that space, double side sticky tape it and plug my existing (hidden) usb cable in to it. Nothing too fancy. Realistically, the only thing it gives me is the ability to slide my phone into the mount and get juice without having to go through all the trouble of plugging in the usb cable (joking, it's not saving me more than 3 seconds, but gives me bonus geek points).

If the specifications are accurate the T200 puts out 7.5W (5v x 1.5amp) whereas the WGP-300 puts out 5W (5v x 1amp).
I have no idea how that translates real world though. :silly:
Is Nillkin considered a brand name? They make a magic disk that is similar to the LG WCP-300. I've been trying to find reviews for it but am unable to.

Out of curiosity how fast does that charge your device? This looks like it's better than the LG one considering it's cheaper and will go in my car lol

These current ratings look like input not output...at least in T200 its 1.5A @ 74% efficiency which would be 1.11A, not sure about WGP-300

Just got this

Well it works. It sets just perfectly for a charge. A little bit of double sided sticky tape and good to go.

Is that the T200?
Dunno, it was just some generic qi puck I bought off of eBay.

anybody tried a palm pre charger? its dirt cheap on amazon. interested in it just because of the price, but not sure if itll work though.

Wireless charger suggestions?

Seen a lot of different ones on amazon and ebay. Just wondering what wireless chargers are worth getting.
I use Samsung's wireless charging stand, since I had it already from my S7. It works great with the G6.
I wonder why LG did come out with some new stuff for the LG G6?
Samsung had a bit of new Qi chargers( Dex), headphones..etc?

Is the fast wireless charging working on it? I read somewhere fast wireless charging doesn't work on Samsung's chargers

LG has their own mew fast charging unit. But they did not include the tech in yhe LG G6 they'll leave it for the v30 im sure. Imo if im wirelessly charging I'm not trying to fast charge anyhow. I've used many and IMO almost all built the same. Some have 3 coils for easier placement and some are smaller to take up less room. I literally just ordered this. 20% coupon code too. Plus Amazon 30 day return policy is amazing. For testing stuff. Not at all my video or advertising just sharing my experience.
I went with the CHOETECH Qi Model T513 wireless charger. Works great. I don't like stand chargers because I have kids and I'm sure they'd manage to knock my phone off of it... repeatedly. () I chose this one because it was decently priced, only about $20, and works great. Also has nearly all great reviews.

It just shows as standard charging, but typically I only need to charge my G6 at the end of the day and let it charge overnight, so I don't mind. If I need a quick charge, I just use the type C charger.
I got the CHOETECH T811C. It's cheap and seems pretty solid. Works through my case with no problems. I don't have any issues trying to find a "sweet spot" for it to start charging either, like I had with a previous charger.
I bought two chargers. One for work and one for home (bedside).
I use this one at work (the charge light was too bright in the room at night):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XDM61W3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This one at home:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012F1YBEC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far, I'm very happy with both.

I've had this for a couple years now and just pulled it out the closet. I recently picked up a G6 and thought I'd give it a shot. To my surprise, it worked like a charm. I haven't noticed how fast it charges because I leave on overnight just because it's easier to deal with in the dark. I haven't noticed any heating issues as it doesn't seem hot when I remove it. All in all it has worked well for me.

I too use this charger. Works great for me.
EDIT: Used to work. Now it works for about 30 seconds and then flashes error. I think that it might be because of my case. Not sure thought as I'm not going to take my case off every time I charge.
I also have one of these https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wire...sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+wireless+fast+charger It works fine even with my case. It didn't work well for my G4 and the tylt worked well with it not my G6 works well with my samsung and not with my tylt. Go figure.
I have two of the vertical stands chargers from Seneo. Phone sits on its all day at work, and all night when sleeping. NEVER gets hot. Definitely recommend and purchased off Amazon. I wish it didn't have such a bright charging indicator light on it or at least the option to shut it off, but nothing a little black marker can't fix.

I had a cheapie Adrema, surprise it works and charges at 1.5 amps, faster than my original Samsung wireless ones. My G6 also works with my Belkin one.
Greg
I use this wireless charging stand by Choetech: https://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-Wireless-Charging-Qi-enabled-Included/dp/B010B6PSMC/

Any good with a soldering iron?
A resistor of ~330 ohms 1/8 watt in series with the LED will dim it to what should be a suitable level.
Maybe I tinker with stuff too much

I can solder, not great but doable. Although in this case it's not remotely worth it. If I were to open this up I'd just disconnect the light altogether.

Yeah I get ya.
But I'd just have to get inside, the over-bright LED would do my head in. I bet it's blue too...?
I definitely tinker too much.
Hi,
I have recently bought choetech wireless charger for my g6. The charger also comes with micro USB charging cable. What i love most is that this wireless charger comes with integrated smart chip inside it that resist the wireless charger pad from overheating.

The official Samsung wireless charger seems to work pretty good and comes with it's own micro usb wall plug. It's on sale for $9.99.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mo...less-charging-pad-white-pearl-ep-pg920iwugus/
I walked into a Best Buy and ask them for a price match. The price match was approved quickly.
Picture frame with built in wireless charging.
Purchased Qi charger off Aliexpress and taped inside picture frame. Had to remove glass for reliable 1 amp charging. Phone held in place on the edge of inner frame.
