[ROM][VISION][11/8/11] HoneySenseHD Port 2.0 ---STABLE---

This is the HoneySense ROM ported from the desireHD to the desireZ! i like it, its fast, and looks elegant. What cuts it apart from the others, is the speed of a sense 2.1 rom, the versatility of sense 3, and the slickness of honeycomb. This uses virtuous OC daemon, so if you install setCPU or any other overclock app, it will disable.
How to install

IF YOUR WIFI DOES NOT WORK, FLASH THE UNITY V4 KERNEL ONTOP OF THIS. Here is the LINK !
Anything with a V infront of it (V1, V2, V2873924 etc) is an RC, so V1 is RC1. Anything without a V is not an RC.
THE DESIRE Z HBOOT IS REQUIRED!
Read the tutorial at http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html to migrate to it.
Alternative Way to install Desire Z HBOOT
1. Download the PC10IMG.zip from the link above
2. Place it on the root of your SD
3. Boot into Bootloader
4. Choose the appropriate options
5. Remove the PC10IMG from the root, or else you cant boot into clockwork mod.
BTW, THIS ALSO CHANGES THE RADIO, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO FLASH A DIFFERENT RADIO

It's a complete sense 3 rom, but its not slow. it may be slow first, but give it time to settle in, and it will speed up plus in the next version i will make corrections to make it faster, and create a patch to remove the CRT animations, as they cause an orange led bug to occur.

Very nice and congrats can't wait to try it.

Hi there, thanks for posting up this supposed teaser. A couple things:
A: What exactly about this rom sets it apart from the plethora of other Sense3.0 ports to the DesireZ/G2.
B: You posted 5 completely identical screen shots of the exact same four screens, all of whom were undersized and difficult to see. Considering that this is a step up from the usual zero screen shots I can see why you felt that somehow more=better but let me assure you we would all be better off that if we could actually see one set of four, this would make me happier than punched beets.
C: There is a thread naming scheme in place to prevent confusion, is there any way you can edit your OP to reflect this? (On second look it seems you just forgot the date)
I look forward to seeing what you have to offer, welcome to XDA please try and help make this place not be the insufferable hellhole of double quotes, "+1"s, crap themeing, and poorly implemented code that this place seems to thrive on. Remember not all of us are 15 and have all day to bugtest!

Yes I am perfectly serious. We have thread naming standards for a reason. He posted a ton of the same screens, they're undersized and hard to see. He also didn't really say what puts him apart from the rest. I fail to see the issue here.
I'm certainly not denigrating his work or the amount of time he put into its development. I believe all of these are valid questions. Why you gotta hate the fact that I'm not immediately sucking **** over a rom that hasn't even been put up for download yet?
PS: It's people like you that make me want to set fire to the internet. Go soak your head.
Edit: Now, shall we all grow up a bit and let the OP address my questions or shall we continue this pointless derail until one or the both of us gets banned, OR the mods decide to "delete offending material" which may or may not include perfectly legitimate questions.

A:what sets it apart is the look, it gives it a classic honeycomb look, whilst maintaining the functionality of sense 3
B: I have resolved this issue.

Init.d boot script support

What do I have to do to gain init.d support on the froyo roms? I would enjoy the benefits of the v6 supercharger, and other ram scripts for that matter, any boot script can be placed in there and do awesome things for the performance of our continuums. Could somebody shed some insight upon how to include this feature in a rom?

You need to have that feature added into a custom kernel.... Which we aren't going to be able to have probably unless Samsung releases the source xP
You can still get v6 to work, you just need to use script manager toset the crashes script in data to run at boot...

Might you give more details? I dont know how to do that, and it states not to run at boot in the v6 thread do I'm confused, I know the script run at boot *on my other phones* but yeah, I'm willing to learn

Yeah, it tells you not to run the script ITSELF, instead you run at boot using Script Manager the V6 script that was created in your data directory after running the script for the first time
This makes it work for me
To find that script, just go to settings and enable browse as root, or whatever, and then go to data It should be right there

This tread intrigued me and I started reading up. I noticed that I have BusyBox 1.18.4 and it says to use 1.18.2 and lower. Are you complying or using the latest BusyBox? If I need to downgrade then I need to learn that first.

As trailblazer stated before, you need to have init.d integrated into the kernel, however, I am working on a "work around". I do not have much time for development, so my progress is a little slow. As soon as I have "good information" to post, I will be posting something in the DEV forum.
For right now, I am having to cook my own zip file to flash my phone with... (I've killed my phone twice so far... This learning curve is kinda steep...) Joshkoss has pointed me in a good direction and I hope to have something concrete by the end of the Labor Day weekend. I don't do place holders, and I really don't like building up expectations, however, you asked a question directly related to what I am trying to get to work.

IMO, init.d scripts are useless as 90% of them are completely situation and phone dependent. What you're gaining in performance in one area is only going to make the phone run worse in other instances. Anything worth-while should be just put into the init.rc to set the values on boot. The stock kernel can be hacked to add a variety of things if you really want to do it though. You just can't add much that requires a new driver/module.

So do you think theV6SupCharger script is useless as well? Since I trust you I jus want your opinion is all....

Well, I was hoping to use init.d for things like loading tun.ko for VPN, however, I just ran into an issue with that... tun.ko needs to be built against the kernel you will be running it on... Well, that nixed that one... Until we have the kernel source.

The more I looked into the init.rc file, the more I have come to realize that for scripts and the like, putting them there would be the best solution, rather than trying to get init.d scripts working. So, unless someone has a compelling reason for me to pursue the init.d stuff, I'm shelving it for now.

IMO the SuperCharger scripts are good, however on the Continuum, it is better to be running with Auto Memory Manager (AMM) to set the memory management memory levels. I'm running 8, 12, 45, 60, 80, 100. Now this is on EC03. I would guess I'll have different settings on EC07.
Have you taken a look at the Fixed - Home launcher being killed when memory is low? This does what the SuperCharger script does, only manually. As far as the 3G tweaks and the other tweaks zepplinrox has added, IDK if they will work on the Continuum. I just kinda do things to fix problems I see (or think I see).

You could possibly get it working, but you'd just have it load the module in the init.rc rather than having an init.d script do it if you really wanted it.

Okay dude, ya done gone convinced me...
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Unless several people want an init.d kind of function for the Continuum, I have been wholly convinced by imnuts that having init.d functionality for the Continuum is redundant with the init.rc script running things at boot. If, after reading this thread
and you still think you want Init.d functionally, let me know.

KERNEL​
Some things that I contributed directly to this kernel were suggestions about voltages, tips on recovery, showed changed the bootclass path (to make it an ICS kernel. From original ics boot spilt thread, but modded to build from source, as ours doesn't split) some other small things, alot of random work(as it is based off BOCA kernel - we used to share sources) and I ported/patched the following: SIO, VR NOOP, INTERACTIVEX, SAVEDZEN, GREASEDLIGHTNING, DARKSIDE, ONDEMANDX, SCARY, SMARTASSV2, SUPERBAD. Maybe a bit more, but nothing else comes to mind, directly.
Therefore I feel that I have contributed enough to include this kernel in my release.
If you notice, I didnt "spiff" the recovery up to its usual vibrant self this time.
Maybe next time, if users liked it in BOCA RC1.

hey diz, top work on releasing a new version of icedBOCA, looks like you put a lot of work into it
ive been kinda quiet for the last week (got a new computer from work which ive turned into a media centre and it was a pain to get the old clunker of a video card working in it)
i know what you meant in your other thread by the other one taking off the way it has, i was gonna try to manually add all their added stuff to your AOSEP version just to see how it went, but it wouldve taken forever just to get it to where they have, and keeping up with the updates would be hard (although i still want to do it just to learn more).
anyway, i thought id thank you yet again for your AOSEP idea and all behind it, even though i started fiddling before you had the idea, it pushed me to take it further.
with that, id thought id offer up one piece of information i learnt from another thread that fixes the red borders completely, on top of:

the other line that ive found that removes it completely is:

so if the build type is set to user it seems to get rid of the red borders completely. hope this helps in some way and best of luck in the future.

Just experienced a small bug.
When rom installs I got allways a FC of a chineese aplication.
Thanks again, performance is very good.

Changing default keyboard and laguage to English in settings (Language & input) helped stop this for me. No need to freeze the launcher.

You need to alter a couple of lines in the build prop and swap the phone. Apk for the one in cm 9

ahh, the one with RIL thing
back then when i was on alpha 3 i used the method to solve the phone's FC but no good. Im on red rebel's now and its all working fine
If I pull the one from red rebel's , would it be as good as the phone.apk posted there or it's gonna be different?

I`ve flashed it on clean safe gb from overcome with overcome kernel
battey drain is significantly better in your rom, although its unstable.
sometimes its 9 mah per minite )radio off, screen off
sometimes its 120.
Killing apps in backgroung helps though
I`m using battery monitor widget for monitoring
all my video players seem to work better than in cm9 build
the browser is very slow to render and load, cm9 is way better
but 3g is more than 1.5 times faster
other glithches
the mentioned red border, scrolling stutters sometimes, application names in all application screen sometimes are not displayed fully, its get choped and the rest is shown at the side of the screen.

This is a stock looking Rom with lots of tweaks. It runs smoothly. I would use it with Go Launcher. I have tested it with Synergy kernel and recommend it. This Rom comes with a new feature that is not completely ready. You can run it in terminal:

This is not a completed rom but all the bugs I found have to do with the added scripts. All of the tweaks should work. Others will be added when I have time. This feature allows you have a turbo in your phone. The higher the frequency goes, the faster and more powerful it will be. When completed, this will increase multiple settings towards performance when your phone is used heavily. It will automatically set them back to save power. It will be improved to remove all bugs and errors and work seamlessly with your phone. It is in beta, so I know there are some bugs that will be fixed. It will not activate on boot until it runs perfectly. I will add code to make it activate in a much smoother way in the next release.

-Go longer between charging by using extra power only when you need it.

Installation with CWM:
1. Download the Rom and your favorite kernel. (Synergy,Bullet,Faux,Darkside) (fkturbo works in synergy, but I haven't checked others yet)
2. Boot into recovery. (Hold Volume Up/Down and power on)
3. Install the Rom first and then the kernel.
4. Reboot and allow it a few minutes on the first boot, then reboot. *No boot animation means that it will go blank for a long time at first boot.

It has a stock kernel, but it will have other available kernels very soon. I plan to update this with the current version I'm running by this weekend. You can use any modified stock kernel. Not AOSP kernels.

It is a very rough estimate of all the stuff that's in it. Data speed tweaks can potentially increase speed on networks. Scrolling tweaks makes scrolling smoother. Look in /etc/init.d/new2 or /system/build.prop for many of the tweaks. This is the old version, so the new one will have more stuff and a better explanation. Not all the tweaks are listed. There are many more to come!

The rest of the rom is working. It is version .4. I am still trying to perfect the code the new feature. I have lots of tests coming up (Bio, Chem, etc.), but I will try to get it perfected by the end of this week. This code is just a teaser that may have bugs in it. It will be updated. Thank you for your patience. Feel free to try it, but keep in mind that it may not work right just yet. If it messes up something, just run fkpower1.sh or powersaver.sh. fkpower1.sh is the better choice.

Ill give it a whirl. there are a couple features I haven't seen advertised in other roms. _I thought all the haters had left the sgh-t989 tread. Must have just been at the haters ball instead of reading up on the Android kitchen. There is a link some where in the dev thread. Build something better and stop being an ass douché.

Good question!
This feature, which still needs some polishing, will allow you to save power when you are not using the phone heavily. It does this by modding the governor settings, which need some tweaking, and the voltage settings, which are being tested today.
When it senses that you are using the phone heavily, it will automatically increase the settings towards performance. As soon as the phone is no longer used heavily, it will automatically change all the settings to favor battery life.
This allows for a perfect balance between the power savings of undervolting, underclocking, and stiffening up the governor and the performance benefits of overclocking, etc.
This eliminates the need to decide between the full power of the phone and the ability to use the phone for longer between charging.
By the end of this week, I will have the settings tested (to make the power change smooth) and more steps between full power and full economy will be added. More settings will be adjusted by fkturbo by the end of the week. It may also be made more universal, but that will take longer than this weekend.
It is being updated to v0.5 for the rom and v0.3 for the feature.

I would need help with someone making a kernel that supports the TG on 4.2. When that happens, I can see if I can support it, but I would need help with testing since I don't own one. (they don't even sell any of the 3g/4g models of any transformer in Canada lol)

Me too...I tried building a kernel for the TG from scratch but none dev that I am, I just gave up before I could brick my device LOL

Can I request a couple of changes please.:
I use my tablet for work and having Barney the dinosaur in the task bar is embarrassing, can you either provide an option to toggle it or explain how to remove it totally.
In the 4.2 Launcher the Return/Home/Running buttons are in the middle of the tablet in landscape which makes them hard to reach with thumbs. Can you left align them please.
Can you remove the SD card inserted and docking connected notifications which make no sense at all to me.
Oh, what exactly are 1% battery mods?

So you don't like Grimlock eh? Sounds like you were not a product of the 80's LOL.
Anyway, attached is a TWRP flashable zip to get rid of the Grimlock icons, but the main rom will still include them.

As for the 4.2 interface. That is the way Google intended them to be and I'm not sure there is a simple way to align them to the left. Not sure why Google thought this would be a good idea. I just stick with the 4.1 launcher.

As for the 1% battery mods, what I mean is that the battery icons change every 1% as opposed to stock Android, which only changes every 15% or so (don't know the exact number and don't feel like looking it up haha) so you will have a more accurate read of your battery % meters without having to open up the notification screen.

Very nice ROM, used it for a few when I messed up another ROM. I would still being using it but I too really don't like the dino on the lock or brightness controls.
I will be watching this ROM to see how it plays out in the future.

Thanks for the fix, I was a young adult in the 80s
I have switched to 4.1 which has the added bonus of ditching the oversized Google bar from the top of the screen.
That makes sense.

Please note - to any TF300TG users out there, within the next few days I should be releasing a rom specifically designed for you guys and I plan on making the two roms have a similar feature set. I'm just waiting for some feedback from a couple testers to see if my kernel tweaks make everything work and hopefully it will be up soon.

Please note. you MUST be on a 4.2 compatible version of TWRP to flash this ROM. My suggestion is the newest 2.5.0.0 as it has NOT been tested on other versions. It runs on the 4.2 bootloader.
