Messaging over WiFi possible? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

New to the tablet world. Never had to worry about messaging on a different device other than my gnex. Is it possible.

There is always Google Hangouts. You can also use something like MightyText:

Volume+ app for Nexus

Anyone use this? I've heard that this app greatly increases the volume coming from the speaker on some phones. Anyone try it on the nexus?
I use it and it works great, night and day difference. The dev offers it for free directly from his site

Do you have a link?
Also, don't you have to put in certain settings? What settings do you use?

JB and official Twitter app

Has anyone else experienced FC's on the official twitter app since switching to JB?

Yes, i do.
me too. sometimes
Yep. Like 75% of the time upon first launch. Then reload the app and all is well. Forgivable considering the os is not technically released yet.

This is exactly what is happening. Not all of the time, just the majority of the time.
I guess I will let them slide on it this time

Yes but you cannot be logged in via tablet and phone at same time. When you log in you are automatically signed out of other device

Shazam

Does anyone else here use, our rather try to use Shazam? Neither the encore paid version or the free version has worked for me in what seems like a couple of months. Grrrrrr.

I just gave up on shazam and started using soundhound instead. The fact that even the paid version still doesn't work shows how much they care for their users.
I just use Google Sound Search...

I forget where I read it but if you have another phone, you can install it on that one, back up the app with Titanium Backup, transfer the backup to your other phone and restore the backup. It's a pain and we shouldn't have to go through all that, but it worked for me.
It's fully working on my gnex jb4.1 i have no problem using it

Twitter

What app are you guys using for Twitter? I'm currently using Falcon but for the life of me can find how you search for people's profiles and not just Twitter search in general.
So what are you guys using and why?

Using the same one one that you're using. Falcon pro is the best one imo

Does Falcon Pro include the free falcon widget? or is that a separate download
Is a separate download but I'm now looking for a different client as there seems to be no way to search for a profile

Yea the developer stated that twitter has too many restrictions making hard and time consuming for him to keep updating it =(

falcon pro it's early days too so he's constantly adding new features as people are requesting
I use Echofon PRO...That's all you need and it has PUSH real time notifications...Not those stupid timed notifications of ALL the apps mentioned in this thread.
I use the official Twitter app. Falcon Pro is promising, but useless to me until it supports switching between multiple accounts.
Only thing that bothers me with the official one is it don't remember where I am in my time line
