Note: I also tried in a zip-aligned stock ROM, but found it crashed when trying to start.

I am missing the secong Light meter ring in the app.
Usually you can activate it at the Settingsmenu within the app, I saw it in the video from
youtube. But my Galaxy S4 hasn't that option in the settings menu, nor is it active by the first start.
Is there anything wrong?

I'm pretty impressed that Photosphere work fine at first because a long rumor that M doesn't equipped with gyro. But it seem like it got gyro in it. My photosphere work however when rendering, it just FC when it reach to 96%.

I'm using Focal (CM10.2 nighty 20130919)... Right now it doesn't seems stable: many FC, problems composing HDR and Panorama images, no ISO setting in the right menu bar... but the app looks promising!
By the way, do you have the ISO button?

Same here. It's usually one of the first thing that I uninstall after I check to see what's force closing.

Ah, and another thing: right now Focal seems to eat battery life pretti fast! I've gone from 90% to 59% in 4 hours... responsables? 47% screen, 35% FOCAL (used no more than 15 minutes!)!!!

Seems like CM is removing Focal from their list of preinstalled applications, as the Dev for Focal left CM.
To be honest, I never really liked Focal. Felt more 3rd party than I would have liked it to be.
Hopefully CM improved the 4.3 camera app with features from Focal

don't really see a reason to use focal over the stock camera.... might take some time getting used to though...

Works fine for me on Codename. Have not had a single problem with it.
think its a size issue cause it either f/c or says size too small ...
mine will fc whenever I go into the actual picture taking part of the app. The social parts of the app work perfect though. Running the goodness rom

I have CM9 alpha 2 with the FC02 kernel and I can take the pictures fine. Where I run into problems is if I am listening to music or podcasts and snap a picture, Instagram mutes all audio until I force close it and then all my sound comes back. I'm pretty sure it is muting it for the shutter sound and then won't un-mute so it has to be killed. Anybody else getting this? Any possible fixes or workarounds?

In CM9 alpha 2 you have to keep Advanced Camera on or it will crash after you take a photo and accept it.
I actually just wiped my phone and it works fine now! Made a backup of my important apps first though : )

Should work on all 4.0+ aosp ROMs. Just delete/rename gallary2.apk in system/apps then install the apk like normal
I'm posting this because I'm running it right now with zero issues on thddudes beanstalk rom
This isn't actually a leak is it. Its just the camera from the Google edition s4 isn't it?

But when it uses 25% of your battery overnight there should be something wrong. I tried it myself. Photosphere is not worth the no deep sleep new feature, lol.

I tried this running CM 10.1 and it seemed a little laggy for a while. Also, the quick settings did not match up. i.e. I would try and select one scene mode and it would actually pick another. If it was more stable I would use it. I prefer this new quick settings menu over the radial menu
Works well on stock Rom too. I also have problems with settings not matching up.

Meh... It's ok. I still prefer the MIUI camera, even if I don't have front camera support with it. IMHO, it's better than CameraZoom as well.

I am on AOKP and this only half works. It does do photosphere, but it only does 1 picture then it is fuzzy thereafter and the video is horrible and not usable. Does anyone have a .zip to flash back to stock camera and gallery? blah. i did a backup before but it was a a couple weeks ago and I am just not getting around to trying the camera.

meh
4.3 camera works fine on LG Optimus G F180k. I now have two Camera apps and two Galleries. The only flaw I encountered so far is the picture size. It only goes 8MP maxed and my camera supports 13MP so I only use it for PhotoSphere. The PhotoSphere works well, so far, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The new gallery app is a step up from the stock I had.
I froze the stock gallery and use the gallery app that came with the 4.3 camera. I didn't freeze or uninstalled the stock camera. I'll probably use'em both.
My theory here, maybe this works well with my phone because it first came out on Nexus 4, which is also a LG device and Optimus G and Nexus 4 almost have the same hardware with just a lil' variations like the camera. (N4 with 8mp while LGOG with 13mp, some models have 8mp too just like the N4)
and another thing, the 4.3 camera creates another directory inside DCIM folder. So the two cameras have two different folders inside DCIM.

AOSP 4.3 discussion

What are things you've noticed so far in the alpha/beta builds of Android 4.3?
As of 8/10,
- (Cosmetic) I like the addition to the LTE signal. On cm10.2, the 4G icon has been replaced by "LTE". (Does not apply to SlimRom.)
- Device appears to be much, much smoother and consistent.
- AOSP keyboard no longer opens a window to save a word to the dictionary. It just does it once you hit save. (This one is a big plus for me.)
- LTE, while speeds haven't necessarily matched my Touchwiz experience, I can safely state that LTE, even with slower speeds than Touchwiz is loading pictures/videos a lot faster. It's much more noticeable how LTE connectivity has improved when going to a 4.3 rom on this device.
- Required to enable root via developer settings prior to using any application that requires root access. (This is a security feature but for someone that flashes ROMs on nearly a daily basis, it can become a bit tedious since it's just an extra step.)
Find anything new? Share your findings here.

Edit: I do have a 3000 mAh battery, though!

Is camera still buggy? what exactly is buggy about it? I havent tried an AOSP rom in like 6-8 months because first time I flased one my sd card got corrupt. I believe it is formatted correctly to where IT wont happen now and thinking about finally making the switch since touchwiz development has kind of slowed down recently and im starting to get bored. Main thing keeping me on touchwiz was the camera. I take a lot of pictures. Are there any other issues that would keep me from using an AOSP ROM as a daily driver? Bluetooth issues, random reboots, freezes ect...
I never had the luck of running a 4.3 build perfectly. Phone ended up crashing and getting stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 boot screen.
Latest carbon runs quite fine 8-29 nightly. However, I noticed Bluetooth doesn't appear in the toggles nor can you enable torch in the power widget. Anyone know a work around to fix this?

My MIUI experience. Pros/Cons

Well, I brought myself to removing my CM10.2 and trying the MIUI ROM. It was a very slick, very smooth ROM. I overall enjoyed it. But with it being a ROM of course it had a few minor bugs. And I did have a few dislikes. So I'm gonna list a few things I personally noticed about it. Fell free to post your thoughts and any resolutions to anything I'm gonna lay out.
PROS:
-a smooth, soft feeling touch that was full of color and a very nice setup. The was miui was set up in settings for example was on of a kind. I was not disappointed. The theme app that was there gave me full control of changing the status bar, lock screen, home screen, etc. You have full control of customization. WiFi also seemed to work just fine.
CONS:
- Sadly, my LTE didn't appear to work. I tried adjusting my setting to fix it. No avail and that kinda was frustrating. But with WiFi working it didn't pose to much of a issue. I also experienced to apps for my gallery, and I was unable to delete it because it was a system app. Some of the themes I downloaded froze my phone, causing me to remove my battery and restart my phone. I wasn't bothered by it to much, I'm rather used to having to do that with previous phone.
Over all if you like a fresh and fast ROM you will love MIUI. But with these few issues I went back to cm. As I need my LTE cause my phone is also a work phone and I need the fastest internet I can get. So feel free to post your thoughts on MIUI and any fixes. Because I would like to switch back and continue using MIUI.

LTE works you just have to select it in settings when you first flash the rom because it doesn't default on. Reason there are 2 galleries is because MIUI has its own gallery and since we have to use 4.2 camera it comes with its only gallery also hide one in a folder if you dont like one. And theme issue I've never experienced this

Right out of the box, I think MIUI looks a lot like ios . Maybe too much.
It is a great ROM though, and very user-friendly.

Wait... Are we talking rotation on the homescreen with no apps open? TouchWiz never did that. At least not stock out of the box. If were talking within apps then yes, it should rotate, if you have it enabled in the settings. Otherwise it will stay in portrait (or landscape) at all times.

I am having the same issue with both the odin and flashable versions. It works for a while, but then stops working. Really annoying! I am not using the exposed framework or modules, purely stock. Are you removing any apps? That is the only thing I do, but nothing I know to be related.
I'm not sure if this is it, or my "fix" will help, but maybe when updating to KK the phone wasn't level, and the compass/gyroscope calibrated itself to be off center. I don't have any issues with rotation, but what I did when I updated was I opened Bubble Level, and noticed it wasn't "level", so I reset the calibrations for the entire phone, and then put it on a level surface, and re-calibrated it, and now when I open the app on a level surface it is spot on. Maybe give that a try. Here is the app I used.

I don't think is wanam or xposed. It must have something to do with an app that I am uninstalling with Titanium Backup. I am currently running Vision X N3 - Tmobile and have been doing some testing. If I uninstall my usual 60 apps that that include S Health and the related sensor app, my auto rotation will stop working. However, if i don't debloat then no issues. I have been running the bloated version for a day or so and rotation still works. I am going to try leaving S health and the related sensor app to see what happens. On 4.3 I would always remove both apps and never had an issue. Oh, and wanam and xposed are pre-installed on the rom. I don't use them, but they are pre-installed.
So, do you debloat, and if so; do you remove S health and its related sensor app?
