[MOD] 4.3 BLE libraries+xml for every ROM (stock or custom) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Here are flashable .zip files to bring BLE support to any tuna (should work on also on toro and toroplus yes) device on any 4.3 ROM. Attached also the restore .zip to restore the files as they were.
Based on the commit, files by manuel naranjo: https://github.com/manuelnaranjo/an...mmit/31756f3c0f364c9c7d07e8813a8b806ec0ddaded , so props to him
I've attached also the same files for grouper N7 and manta N10. Don't have the stock files for those, that's why I didn't made any .zips, but feel free to try them.
Test it out on BLE devices and post some feedback. As of the time being Fitbit doesn't sync with Android 4.3 API yet, but it should see the device.
1st August 2013 : Anyone who flashed the previous version, please reflash the version 2 posted below.
1) first flash 4.3_BLE-tunaRESTORE2.zip to revert and delete the wrongly permission file
2) flash 4.3_BLE-tuna2.zip for proper permission file placement
I've made a mistake when making the updater-script, so the .xml permission file was placed into /etc instead of /etc/permissions, sorry for that :|.
24th August 2013 - Since I've surprisingly got a good offer to sell the Galaxy Nexus, user wbedard said he'll make sure to keep this support alive. He compiled GN, N7 flashable JWR66Y zips for BLE , posted here. Thanks !

Wonderful! Flashing right away... Stock JWR66V.

I flashed this on a Stock 4.3 ROM...I don't think it works.
BLE scanner 0.1 says "no BLE support, just as it did on Stock without this zip.
Can anyone else try this?
You can fimd the BLE Scanner in the 10.2 test build thread on page 29

You're correct, I've made a mistake in the updater-script, so the permission file wasn't in /etc/permissions, that's why the API check for BLE permission failed. It works now, please see #1 post. Thanks for noticing ! Here's the test with https://github.com/tadejkolino/BLECheck .

If you are using my build CM10.2 unofficial then you won't get updates from Google, you get updated only on Stock ROM by Google!

Something I threw together when Carlos and I were talking about BLE support and needed a quick way to check if this is it. It uses the API check for the BLE permission file. Check out the github link for method used.

No, the assert check will fail, but if you flash the RESTORE .zip before, you'll get to the stock state in which you will be able to successfully update.

I posted this since I use a stock Google image personally and since it's possible to flash it separately it might be useful for people who aren't into custom ROM's or heavy addons. Thanks :]

Great stuff , now we will be on the bleeding edge
Will flash now and report back later this afternoon
edit - I take it the nightly drops are about to start?
Edit - looks good and seems to work correctly, setup however asked for everything twice however I just cancelled that anyway. Everything syncs except calendar this keeps asking for me to sign in but I'm not able to use the same address as everything else (btw gallery syncs ok)
Oh and it FLYS!! faster then even villains rom!
BTW I love the settings icons are back on notifications !
EDIT - Calendar does sync and I dont get asked twice for account details on first boot now I re-wiped and reflashed
Look forward to the feedback on this one

OP: since this modifies the framework is it going to be kept up to date daily? I see that you put that it only works on CM 5/19.
I wish that CM would of put the icons in a separate resource file so it did not have to patch the framework. You know that this is something that people would want to change and patching the framework is not the way to do it.
Maybe they can integrate it into the theme engine.

That is exactly why I looked into it. I have a post flash script that uses adb to populate some settings and files that are located in the /system and gets wiped each flash. I was going to add the resource file or icon files into the script. But, there is not much I can do with patching the framework.

What are you trying to do when it doesnt work? Transfer a photo? Google Wallet? NFC Tags? I have had issues with NFC tags before. It happened after I started using a mod that allowed me to use them without turning the screen on. NFC would eventually stop working and I'd have to toggle it off and on to get it to work again. I'm sure you tried toggling it already right?

What I am trying to do, to see NFC section from Settings > More >NFC but it doesn't have NFC anymore...
I flashed CM10.1 and I build my ROM again and then maybe I'm able to make it work again..
It suddenly disappeared when I got once force close.
I'm just wonder if if the error is caused by Settings.apk/res/values-et/ string.xml file but it can't be in Settings.apk
I flash my ROM again in 30 minutes when it's finished and hopefully NFC section is settings is back then, if not, then I don't know why it disappears.

If you are coming from a fresh flash, I dont think its any missing or incorrect files. Flashing a ROM again would correct any files that may have been deleted or modified. Did you get a new battery? I think the NFC feature is related to the battery. If you get a battery that is not NFC compatible, it may cause this issue. I dont know though, I havent used any other batteries.

I don't know yet.
It takes time to move .zip from memorystick to Nexus.
Actually nope, re-flashing won't fix the problem if it is caused by an app or bad format and mount lines in updater-script..
At least something is wrong in the updater-script and I don't know how to edit them for JB 4.2.2

[TW][MK3] Stock Kernel w/ SE for Android set to permissive

Short and simple, it's the stock kernel for MK3. No Overclocking/UnderVolting. No fancy mods. No apps. No init.d scripts. Just the kernel and modules that came with MK3.
I also made it so the updater script deletes anything from DKP and KToonsez kernels, so everything (kernel wise) will be back to stock.
Special Thanks to @CNexus for doing all the work (I just wrote the updater script, made the thread, and am hosting the zip) and @tdunham for everything he does.

Please help me understand. Will this do anything for me if I am using the stock TW 4.3 rom without knox that @CNexus provided to the community? I thought that he used the md4 bootloader to fix screen rotation. I believe this included the prior stock kernel.

There shouldn't be any problems, but always make a fresh backup before you flash anything. Battery life probably won't change.
I installed this over DKP - and noticed one or 2 issues.
1) SE for Android status now says "Enforcing" (I believe it said permissive previously - not sure if this actually affects anything)
2) Tasker for some reason runs into an error when enabling / disabling my lockscreen (for when I'm connected to my home WIFI).
Would #1 have anything to do with #2?
EDIT: Nevermind!! Apparently they were directly linked. I used the simple process from this post to disable SELinux, and lockscreen works again.

After running other kernels for some time I decided to give this one a try. Using it combined with comadose. I've never seen a kernel sleep this well.

Do you plan adding small modification like no-encrypt option in kernel and System Tuner with navigation bar option?

I can't seem to find the correct vendor.img for the ROM. I looked on developers.google.com and could only find 7.0.0 vendor.img which I flashed and did not work. Could someone provide a link to proper image that will work with this ROM. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to just use the latest from Google's website. You'll get a warning on each boot, but there is no harm.

The new update works great. Thanks for updating the system tuner.
One question pls. At the latest rom, I can't delete any files from /system. Before I could. Any hint pls?

Hey USBhost,
thanks a lot. ROM runs great, as well as your SuperSU patch.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks! Will it run on LTE version? (wifi version has newer vendor and base)

I'm almost sure.
Vendor I'm not sure.
I'm thinking of making a hacked up vendor with the latest wifi but with the LTE stuff today or tomorrow
Edit: google already has the factory image for 7.0.0 for volantisg... so just flash the vendor in that one.
