Any way to hide the navigation bar? - Nexus 7 (2013) Themes and Apps

I use pie controls and I want to hide the navigation bar, anyone know how to do this? I tried all 3 apps that claim to be able to do this in the play store and none worked for me, maybe because I'm on 4.3.
Also, anyone know a good browser that supports flash?

This app worked for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys&hl=en
I think you need to be rooted for it to work, though.

I'm a huge fan of that app. Use it since day one, works great.

Only do this is you are using a third party app like Button Savior or GMD GestureControl to navigate between screens though so you don't open something and get stuck there.

You could aslo use ParanoidAndroid, which has an option to switch in one tap of finger between :
1) Normal view (navbar + statusbar)
2) FullScreen view (without any bar)
The benefit of the ROM is that it also provides ControlPie, but adds "Halo notifications", which are made for having notifications without statusbar (check it out on youtube)
---------------------------------
With Xposed Framework and GravityBox you can hide navbar and use ControlPie (on stock)

after 2 years flashing with my desire i bought a galaxy nexus
the phone is brilliant, the only thing i dont like is that the keys (navigation on screen buttons) is the part of the screen, so the keys make the screen smaller.

AOKP offers the ability to shrink OR remove the nav bar.
If you remove it, you can use the Power-control to navigate...which is slightly cumbersome.
Personally, I remove it when I'm browsing the internet, playing a a game, or doing something that I don't need the nav bar.
I think most roms offer this exact functionality now.
It's been around for quite some time.
You can also use LMT Pie Launcher to make a completely invisible nav bar that is activated with a touch of the side of the screen.
I found it to be slightly laggy, but you're mileage may vary.

Transparent Notifications

Hi there.
I'm planning on getting the 2013 Nexus 7 again. I miss the high-resolution screen and the vanilla Android OS.
I sold it because i feel the 7" screen is not enough and compounded by the "annoying" occupancy of the Notifications bar on the top and the bottom thus making the 7" screen look like only 6".
Now, i have heard and seen videos that you can make the Notifications Bar (top & bottom) transparent so you can make full use of the real estate.
Is this true? Any way i can do this?
Please advice. Thanks.

Just use KitKat and a launcher that supports it.
I go farther and I use xposed+GB and don't even use the navigation bar at all, and use the pie controls in GB, and the status bar only appears when I pull down from the top, so 100% of my screen is always in visible at all other times.
Here's a pic:

When I want to see notifications, I just pull down and they show up, the pie controls open when I drag from right or bottom (configurable).

Another question: can i add more homescreens on top of the standard 2-3?

Good way to get rid of the navbar and have pie instead?

Tried LMT Launcher and Gravity Box with expanded desktop on... I get pie but the navbar won't go away whatever I do. Do I need a custom rom?
I use LMT and Gravity Box. Have no problems at all. Had 4.7.4, 4.7.5 and now 4.7.6.
Turn on navbar settings and turn off navbar- these two steps on Gravity Box. And do not forget to turn off navi panel in phone setings after that.
I don't have gravity box installed. Any other way to solve the problem. Right now I have the navbar auto hide, but I want deactivate it. Any advice. Thanks
if you have root, just install joneplus tools from the playstore and use the new quicktile to toggle the navbar

I don't know what "navi panel" is or how to turn it off. If you mean Hide the navigation bar in Buttons, I've already tried that and the navbar doesn't actually go away.
HideNav
- adb shell settings put system buttons_show_on_screen_navkeys 0

Yeah I hid it through adb shell. If you can't find it, I can go look for the commands somewhere
JOnePlus Tools is a pretty cool app I didn't know about. So now I can turn off the navbar completely, but pie won't trigger from the bottom without it. I was reading the LMT thread and it turns out there's an issue with the latest OxygenOS... guess I'll wait for a fix.
I disabled Nav bar using jOneplustools app via new quick settings option and use this app instead. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suphi.swipenavigation&hl=en_GB
called: Swipe Navigation

I'm curious, does swipe navigation works straight away right after a reboot? When I used it I had to wait several seconds to see the toast (swipe navigation roots rights granted or something like that) and it seemed there was a little latency for each move. Now I'm using Xposed edge (require Xposed obviously) and it is functional right away
I use JOnePlusTools to disable the navbar and Unique Controls (plus the companion app) and I will never go back to LMT or any other pie nav. I admit, it doesn't take a few seconds to kick in, but it is extremely accurate and customizable. You may even be able to stop the delay by adding it as a system app and bumping up its place in the boot order.

I can't speak for everyone but personally for me it works straight away without any delay. From the moment I do a swipe up gesture the result is instant without any lag or delay at all.

For Beta 2 you may use "Hide Navigation Bar" module for magisk. Because gravitybox still not available for Android 8.0

Hide NavBar -NO ROOT- (Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite)

Hello everyoneWell in my country we don't have the mi 6 pro, so I've been struggling with the navbar, trying to hide it, and mod it. Because I don't like android One...
So I've been trying with various launchers and apps, till I've found this "Total Launcher"https ://play .google .com/store/apps/details ?id=com.ss.launcher2&hl=es_419
For those who are interested the trickiest part was the drawer but with a little of patience I left it to my taste, the good thing is that you can mod almost anything in that app... Also it got a lot of gestures like display facing down to lock it, but I couldn't get it to work with the fingerprint scanner because when it's locked, forces you to use the pin code.
Hope you find it interesting and helpful.
And this is my mi a2 lite now

No I use to root with all my phone's but I don't see to much benefits these days besides battery , CPU tweeks and ad blocking, I normally run into to much hassle with rooting especially with online banking
Navbar color is controlled by app. Switch to dark theme in system settings or light theme in xda app. Problem solved.

No? Yes.
If you're rooted you can manipulate the nav bar any way you want.
I don't have the nav bar showing at all. There's no pill and no shading at all. The left gesture is completely disabled so it's easier to use apps built in swipe menus. I have 3 swipe up gestures.
And there's plenty reason to still root phones.
You can control which apps can have access to your phone and when they run in the background. Apps like Facebook and TikTok are constantly running and sending and receiving data. I have them locked down so they can't do anything unless they're open.
And online banking is an easy fix too. You just have to know what you're doing. It can be a little bit of a hassle getting everything done but it's worth it when you see the end results.
A properly setup rooted phone is better and more secure than it's non rooted counter part.
