TUN.KO, neeed VPN access, which kernel supports this option, and where is the driver? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I currently run tweaked, with saber kernel (thanks to both of the dev groups)
but I can seem to figure out how to activate the TUN.KO in the kernel.
can someone help me out, I am trying to setup a openVPN on my note,
I have tried the tun.ko installer, but it gives an error code that tun.ko does not exist in the kernel
thanks

Any help folks, anyway I can do this myself?

Do you have a tmobile note II or AT&T?

Tun.ko says it's already loaded . It says "you can now use Droidvpn and Openvpn to your phone" But if I hit the install it says it cant find for my device . I believe the module is built into the kernel . I use hotspot shield and I know for a fact it requires tun.ko .
P.s I have the t889 tmobile variant

Which saber version do you have? I'm on 35.6
And mine definitely does not have it, this is what I get when opening openVPN
When opening openVPN and using my downloaded profile, I get the response
"Due to a known bug with this version of android, it is not possible to gain permission to open a VPN tunnel."

I'm on 32.2 .

Okay let me try and figure a 32.2 link, thanks for your help

Best Kernel for running Ubuntu.

Do you guys know of a rom that can support the installation of Ubuntu on the evo. I read that the kernel had to support loop but I wanted to know which kernels have it built in.
Hopefully I didn't confused anyone. I'm currently running the latest Virus ROM.

[Q] Any ROM with Pdroid ?

Hi,
Is there any ROM for our S4 with Pdroid or Open Pdroid ? I am only interested to Root my device if there is anyway to have Pdroid with stock base ROM.
Thanks for your help
No one knows ?

I would also like to know the state of PDroid or alternative for the GS4. I haven't found anything so far. LBE Privacy Guard definitely isn't going to work the GS4. I have tinkering with Permissions Denied, although I am not fond of the app as I find it confusing.
Try patching the ROM yourself
PDroid
OpenPdroid

I think I will give it a go. Past devices went quite poorly for me. The HTC Rezound would not work with any PDroid patching I tried, and the Droid Charge with Tweaked ROM (or any EP4 ROM) would not work with PDroid.

I saw a ROM in the AT&T development section and I remembered seeing this post a while ago. Didn't know if you've seen it or not, but check this thread out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317667
Just flash an M1919 kernel directly after flashing that ROM and you should be good to go.
Thanks a lot I have canadian videotron version I dont know if flashing t mobile kernel will work. How can I keep my stock kernel ?

Oh.. I didn't even notice you had the M1919V... I haven't read enough to know what all exactly is compatible for that specific device... Be sure you get clarification before flashing anything.

You mean stock, right? First of all, have you tried the TUN.ko Installer from the same company? I don't know if it works on systems without custom kernel, but I think it will work anyway. :victory:

Thanks alot for the file i have been searching it for along time
keep your good work
Why should i flash a kernel , What are the advantages i get (im a noob please help me)
and if its a must can you give me a link
something is wrong with the update zip, it's only 338KB in size. Shouldn't be in bigger than that?
It's only really a sound pack so that's why it's small. Some people need a custom kernel on this rom to get wifi working as wifi won't work with this rom on a 4.1.2 bootloader. A custom kernel gives you options to undervolt and over clock. It can also give you options to increase volume ,modify screen calibration and increase charging rates. Devil kernel also gives you the option to dual boot 2 different roms.
