Full body skins - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

After using my nexus for over a week with out any case I have decided I do not want bone. I have a travel case that I use when I take it with me, but I like the feel of the tablet and do not want to add any bulk for when I use it.
But I would like to get a full body skin. I don't see a whole lit on amazon. I actually only see the skinomi which doesn't have great reviews, so what skin do you all prefer? I've never used them on phones before so I really don't know which brands are good.

Just saw that dbrand is shipping their skins this week. They look awesome. One question does the front cover have a SP as well or is it just the bezel that is covered? If not SP, can you use a SP with it?

Checkout Skinomi.

A lot of companies are yet to release any, but there's Xtremeguard, BestSkinsEver, and BodyGuardz that I know of off the top of my head. Look for coupons to those sites before purchasing (especially XtremeGuard).
I find them all the same personally, just your typically wet apply protector that's a bit rubbery/tacky

Got the XtremeGuard front and back.
The front is fine, but the back has issues.
It doesn't extend beyond the camera lens to the corner, the corners keep lifting, and the extreme glossy surface against the matte exposed rubberized back shows that 'uncovered' corner...

I just bought the Iron Man neoprene sleeve case, I don't like the feel of cased tablets and the hot temps here don't help either.

Thanks. So far I think I like dbrand's the best. Anyone have any opinions on their skins?
I'm not a fan of then clear skins, rather have a colored carbon fiber look. Maybe for the front I will get a clear SP though.

dbrand offers really high quality, precision cut skins. I'm gonna be all over those when they're available :good:

If only dbrand skins covers the corners fully . in the pics it shows the slits on the corners .I know its tricky for rounded corners but it would look more nice and flush .

Yeah just noticed this myself. Corners and sides are not covered on dbrand skins.

Thank you for saving me the time to post precisely the same comment
The front is okay but the back is trouble waiting to happen with all the exposed surfaces. Also, if the matte surface appearance of the back is important to you, don't even go near this.
I managed to get the back to adhere properly with a lot of patience, smoothing and holding it firmly over the rounded edges, and just kept holding it down until it finally held even when I took my thumb off it. It took a good bit of time. Then I left the whole thing to "cure" for about 20 hours before powering it on.
At the moment, the skin is adhering well both front and back, and over a couple of days it has really molded itself well to where the logos on the back are now sharply defined. But the back is now glossy rather than matte. It's not a bad glossy, but it's definitely not as Google intended. I anticipate that in time the edges will start attracting gunk and will eventually start peeling away, too, because this is not so much "full body" as maybe "90% body."
But for me, this is preferable to the idea of icky fingerprints all over the precioussss. The back of the N7 seems like the kind of rubberiness that attracts skin oils and magnifies them, although I might be wrong since I've never actually let anyone's fingerprints near mine. I'm going to get a better cover for the back but in the meantime this will serve to keep it nice and clean.
Oh, and last but not least, the skin on the front doesn't interfere with touch gestures, or at least not to a point where it would annoy me. It's doing its task acceptably.

I tried to order a dbrand skin yesterday but the check out system was down, which led me on a search. I stumbled upon these and decided to order one as they do cover the corners. Check out the site and they do have a install vid. They have the extreme fit which covers the corners. GLTA

Those look good. I also found gelaskins which are pretty original. Nothing for the new N7 yet though.

Cruzerlite Vs Speck (Photos)

Hello everyone. I just got a Speck case in gray/black and thought I'd throw some comparison photos up. So far I love my Speck case.
The Speck case was a little tight around the volume key, which made it hold the volume up button down. I slipped a piece of paper in above the volume key and now it functions perfectly. Hopefully it'll stretch out with time and allow me to take the paper out. I'll keep you guys updated. The Speck case is a little bit more bulky than the Cruzerlite, but feels more solid.
The Cruzerlites were a little sharp around the edges which peeled my screen protector (Flex HD) up. I sanded them down a little, which fixed the issue, but i managed to scuff the inside of the back up a little. That's what the line around the top corner is in a few of the pictures.

I'm getting a blue S3 and wanted the dark grey case at first and waited for it to appear on their site as available for a week which it never did so the light gray with pebble blue out lines grew on me after visiting the site so much so I ordered it last night lol

I got the clear/white Android cruzerlite case and the Cimo case.
I can't really recommend the Cimo case, but the Cruzerlite ones are awesome. Adds just enough grip and protection without turning the phone into a huge oversized brick. (I accidentally dropped my sgs3 about 3.5' getting out of the Jeep and it just bounced - no damage to the phone or case. And they have just enough lip on the face to protect it when you set it down on mostly-flat surfaces.) Someone was telling me they are made in the USA, which is an added bonus if true.
I love those Speck cases, but I swear your "grey/black" looks different from the "soot/black" photos elsewhere. Maybe just the lighting or because it's on a white phone.
I do believe I'll have to run into my local ATT store this weekend and pick one up.
Where did you get the clear matte one? I cant find it on amazon, i found the teal but not the, clear matte. Would you guys say get the diztronic clear matte or cruzerlite?

[REVIEW] SGP SPIGEN Ultra Lumi Bumper. (HQ Pics Heavy) Must see++

Have you been looking around to find the most beautiful case for your s3? I have got you covered. I have found the perfect case for the Galaxy S3.
This is a review for the SGP Spigen Bumper Ultra Lumi series. I have ordered this case before three weeks and it arrived today. As you can see from the photos, the packaging for this case is pretty good.

Once you order this case, you get the following items: 1. Case 2. Front protector 3. Back protector 4. Cleaning cloth. Normally you have to pay at least 10 dollars to get a decent pair of front and back protectors, so its a positive thing that they are included for free.
Now, lets have a look at the case. First thing i have noticed is the slim factor of the case. It looks beautiful and most of all: it looks premium. Although, if you touch the case you get that plastic feel. I dont see this as a bad thing, because it gives you at the same time the feeling that this case will do its job: to protect your investment.
As you can see from the photos, the cut outs for the usb, headphone jack, mics are perfectly lined. The buttons, both volume and power, are made of plastic. This is a good thing because its far more easy to press them from other tpu cases out there.
Also, this case has edges on the front and back of it. If you lay your phone on the table, its still protected because of these edges. Same thing goes for the front of the phone. You are protected because of these edges, so if you drop your phone on a straight floor, you are protected as well.
Now lets move on the negative side of this case. The price is little high for some people but notice that this case is one of the most beautiful cases i have ever seen (and i have seen a lot). Moreover, when you are holding your phone with this case, it doesnt have that anti-slippery feeling, that other cases give you. I dont care very much about this because i know that this case will protect my phone in every days situations.
Finally, I highly recommend this case to every s3 user in this forum. However, i dont think that it will look as great in the pebble blue s3. I am sure that it looks fantastic on my white galaxy s3 with my aluminum brushed back cover.
If i could give a rate to this case, i would rate it: 4,5/5.
Here's the pros and cons:
Pros: 1. best looking case for my taste 2. very good protection 3. easily accessible buttons
Cons: 1. pricey more some people 2. not having that anti-slippery feeling.
I hope you liked this review. If you find it helpful, hit thanks.
You can buy this case on:
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s3-case-ultra-bumper-lumi-series.html
Have a nice day everybody.
10/11/2012 ***UPDATE*** I emailed SGP Spigen and asked them when this beautiful case will be back in stock, and this is the response i got:
"We are still unsure when we will be receiving new shipments of the Ultra Bumper from our manufacturers and they haven't given us an ETA yet.* As soon as they inform us, I will be sure to send you an email".
So anyone who wants this case, HOLD on

Quick question, the white portion of the case, is it hard plastic? Reason I ask is none of the colors look good to me and I'd like to apply a vinyl over it to change the color. Do you think a vinyl would even stick reliably to the white portion?
Thanks for your help ahead of time.

[Glass Screen Protector][TRUGlass]Cruzerlite Glass Protector Thread

This is literally a copy+paste from my post on Google+ find that one here with lots more photos - https://plus.google.com/103184848438617607889/posts/eg5ALeSq6uG
So I've been super busy these past few days but I wanted to share with everyone something I got for my #Nexus5 from +Cruzerlite ... This is _my_ mini-review of the Cruzerlite #TruGlass screen protector and a mini-comparison with MIMEUSA's Ghost Glass...
*Initial remarks*
At first glance you can see that its a very nice quality protector... Unlike the +MIMEUSA #GhostGlass I had on my phone previously, this one is flexible glass and not just tempered glass... Both are made of actual glass but the MIME glass is more rigid and doesn't bend much at all... From what I hear, the TruGlass is made from the same material that the Samsung Round and LG GFlex screens are made up of... So its quite flexible but not flimsy like a normal plastic screen protector would be...
*Installation*
Installation was mostly easy because I followed the directions even the hot shower to grab any loose dust lol... When installing, its probably best to peel back the whole plastic film on the application side and reattach it about 2/3 or 1/2 to the glass... This will help you center it easier w/o having to lift it off once the glass is down... once its on there, the bubbles are easily squeezed out with some light pressure to each area with them... Installation done and you're ready to enjoy
*First Impressions of it installed*
I was immediately not happy with it and I'll tell you why... I have self-diagnosed OCD and I like for things to line up perfectly... This is why I prefer Cruzerlite vinyl skins and their precise fit as opposed to DBrand skins which leave huge gaps on the edges and even side pieces… But my main gripe with this protector was that it didn’t go all the way to the top/bottom/left/right edges… I contacted Cruzerlite and they assured me this was intentional to ensure perfect fit with their cases… I was initially not happy with that answer considering I’m a minimalist person who doesn’t like cases covering up the beauty of my phone… Then I decided to actually try them with their cases and placed the order to which they shipped REALLY fast considering nothing really happens on the weekend for most businesses…
*Impressions with Cruzerlite TruGlass + Cases*
WOW, such a great fit and makes perfect sense with the way the glass is cut… No issues installing the cases and its a very nice/snug fit on the phone…
*Final thoughts*
I’m not as unhappy with the screen protector as my initial impressions and in fact its hardly noticeable without a case on the phone and certainly not noticeable with a case on the phone… I can’t judge on lasting quality but I can say its a great buy if you’re looking for a glass protector that doesn’t have too much added thickness and one that fits well with cases…
*Recommendation*
BUY IT NOW!!! lol http://goo.gl/WZU9ua
On with the pics of this all
Oh and the one shot of just the glass with a brown background shows a lines up comparison of #TruGlass vs #GhostGlass

Flexible glass ?? Couldn't find any endurance/drop test reviews. So I'm doubtful on their ability to provide shatter protection for the screen if dropped. Personally I think a good tempered glass protector or something like a Rhino Shield would be a much better option for $30.

Here is a video review of truglass
Mine arrived in the post yesterday, I fitted it today.
This thing is certainly a premium product, it feels and like there's not even a screen protector fitted. Only if you look carefully by the ear piece you can see it. Its so smooth and its really nice to touch, slightly expensive but we will see how it fairs against the test of time. I used an invisisheild before I don't think I'll be using those again, its a floppy sticky bit of plastic.
My only small gripe with this is there a few tiny tiny air bubbles I can't seem to get out with the squeegy and I can't see any dust particles in there. Il try and add a photo later

Nice, just looked online and I can't wait to hear what you have to say. If it's a winner, I'll be getting one ASAP
:Edit: Did you get the screen protector too or just the bumper? Because I'm also looking for one of those, all the rest seem to be....not so good, to say the least

Yes I am getting the screen protector too, they have asked me to review them on my YouTube channel so hopefully I will receive them next week

I'm just waiting for them to be put up on Amazon so I can get one (I have prime, so it'd be cheaper/faster shipping). If it goes up before your review I'm gonna pull the trigger, these things look awesome from the reviews I've seen

Thank You ,now my case search is over.
Before coming across this,I got what seemed to be the next best thing,as least as far as appearance of a bumper-only frame, the Poetic Affinity:

While the looks are there,I can't recommend it for those who remove their cases on any regular basis. The fit is way too snug, thought I was gonna either bend the phone,or,pop the display glass out.
I'm going to give the corners a small relief cut,see if that makes removal any easier.
Anyhoo,it'll be moot, the Rhino Shield Bumper is gonna be my daily driver case..............
tech21 Evo Check Case
May I suggest the tech21 Evo Check Case? We've been using these tech21 cases for years with not a single injury, and I am a tad clumsy.

I've been looking for something exactly like this. I'd wait for your review... but I can't hold out that long. I've gone ahead and ordered one.

Not exactly a bumper case & @ $40, ummm, no thank you, especially since there's nothing inherently different in this case from most on the market......

I received it today, the buttons are really stiff and hard to press, I cut them a little inside and now they are much easier to press. The bumper is also a little bit slippery but when I get my dbrand skin it should help. The screen protector has halo on the top and bottom and a tiny bit on the sides of it is even a mm off. I trimmed my one top and bottom but screwed it up and too much dust and lint stuck on the glue side so I gave up. The material the screen protector is made of attracts lint like crazy! I hope this helps

Okay, so no on the screen protector but so far so good on the bumper itself? After the internal cutting, that is

What kind of material is the bumper made of?
Is this a rigid frame,or,flexible TPU construction?
The Rhinoshield bumper is a rigid tpu much more than other bumpers I have used from them as it is thicker due to it covering the champers at the back. The fit is perfect and it keeps the back of the phone raised off the table. I do like it just wish I didn't need to cut the buttons internally but that's minor I guess. I have drop tested it from chest height onto a tiled floor and no issues.

Nice! Can't wait for the video review, it's finally up on Amazon so I can order once I see it and make sure it'll fit my needs.
Thanks for making all these reviews, I bet it's helped more than a few 10 owners

How does the case affect the fingerprint sensor? Does it get in the way much?
How does the bumper affect putting phone into ones pocket? Compared to a normal case

@ramheer have you been able to put the crash guard review up on youtube yet? If so, got a link?

i recieved the devilcase yesterday. i love it, except the cutout for the type C on the bottom isn't big enough for any of my Type C cables. -_-
now i've got to try and dremel the ends to fit, or buy new cables.

Do NOT BUY Samsung S8 or S8+ thin clear cover !!!

I have got with my Samsung Galaxy S8+ free bundle with Samsung wireless fast charger, 2x Samsung OEM screen protectors and thin clear cover. After just 5-6 days dust build up in upper corner of cover and lower left and right and leave tiny scratches!!! Also it doesn't fit 100% to S8+ and because of that small move it was able to leave just little scratches on phone!
Thanks was looking at this or the alcantara glad avoided the former as seems another S6 Clear Cover scratch gate saga

Thanks for the headsup.. Stick to SPIGEN people! You wont regret it!!
Dust leaves scratches....?

No wonder they left a small gap, i just applied a clear screen protector took a good 30 mins to apply it. And it was applied perfectly i go to put the phone in its slim armour spigen case, the corners of the case lift the screen protector.. i think that's why Samsung left the gap as this spigen case is a tight fit on my Galaxy S8+ but it pinchs the screen proctector at all four corners due to such a tight fit!
I bought the low profile clear Spigen and it's amazing.

Good to know. Spigen is the best! Tough armor for me along with the neo flex protector. May get another set of 2 of the neo flex. Fits perfectly with my case.

Yeah, my S6 looked like I'd been rubbing it with sandpaper after 2 weeks with the clear cover on and I've never had another since.
When it comes to your pocket it's not things like keys or coins you should worry about scratching the screen it's the tiny ultra hard bits of glass grit and sand you can bit up every day finding a way to getting rubbed over it as you move.

It amazes me how many folks don't understand this.
Check out UAG or SUPCASE. I got an UAG Folio case and it's just great. Spigen are nice, got the hybrid one. But my SUPCASE is coming tomorrow. Just to test it out
ATM my favorite is the UAG.
Are you referring to the clear view case with the stand ? I hope not as I just paid $100 CND for it from best buy lol

This is spigen neo hybrid cover with Samsung screen protector. There is no problems anywhere. Everything pits great.
I don't know what are you talking about.

Never liked clear cases anyway, always seemed tacky and made them look like a toy.
I prefer the otterbox defender, always been very happy with quality.
I have also gotten the clear cover as a free bundle but for me the clear cover fits perfectly with my S8+ and doesn't have any issues that you have mentioned. No dust build up, no scratches left anywhere.
Apart from the fingerprint that the cover also receives on the back (and some greasy fingers greasing the back of the cover), I'm actually pretty surprised and happy with the clear cover as it doesn't sacrifice any beauty of the phone at all and is ultra-thin IMO.
This are my scratches with the clear cover (Galaxy S8+)
Only one week in use.
