Case meant for Kindle Fire Fits pretty well. BB pricematched Amazon. Pics inside. - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

I was looking at cases based on their posted measurements and I noticed that most of the Kindle Fire cases were within a slim enough of tolerances for the types that use the stretchy elastic material on the corners of the tablet to hold it in place.
I saw this case in person over the weekend at my local Best Buy and it seemed like it would probably fit but Best Buy was asking $39.99 for it and I didn't want to sink that much money on a guess.
Best Buy Link
I found the exact same case on Amazon for literally half the price. $19.99.
Amazon link
So I printed out the Amazon page and ran over to Best Buy on my lunch today with my Nexus 7 in hand to test it first before deciding.
It fits pretty well and works for my needs, at least for the foreseeable future.
Only annoyances are...
1: the elastic band in corner where the power button is covers it up a bit. You can still push the button through the elastic material but I already found the power button on this new Nexus 7 to be a bit annoying to use and this doesn't help that. Can also do a shake to wake kind of app to avoid pushing the power button.
2: No magnetic wake/sleep functions. I don't personally care much about that and it can be solved with a ambient light sensor app if you really wanted it to behave like a case with with magnets.
I asked a manager on the floor there if they'd price match it to the Amazon price and showed him the printout and he said "no problem" and told me to head up to checkout and he'd radio them to tell them to match it.
Other than the checkout guy not knowing their checkout system very well and struggling with finding the section to do price matches, it went without a hitch!
For those of you in my situation looking for decent quality case made from nice feeling and appearing materials and that doesn't add a ton of bulk, I'd say for $20, this is the best thing I've found for my Nexus 7 to date. At least until the official cases actually hit the stores and online sellers.
I attached some pics of the case with the Nexus 7 in it.

While it is listed on Amazon it's from a third party seller and availability is listed at 3 to 5 weeks.
I'm waiting for it too
i heard it will start shipping between may 4th to the 6th. Am waiting to get my hands on one as well. Am not happy with the current price point. Especially the amazon price. I have seen others online with way less. Maybe the price will balance out once it is release. But it's a good investment, considering the device it is for. That's less then a best buy insurance for a year. So i won't mine buying one at that price if it stays that way.
The tech specs show the case as .84" but I think that is without the stand. Anyone hear how thick the combination of case and stand will be?
Looks like this case is for folks with hard wear situations only. No sure how appropriate it will be for normal use. Thoughts?
i do believe it's on the thick side. as most of the outterbox cases are. they sometime makes lighter version. but i mean for what i spend on this baby, i'll want to get the best jacket for her. it will keep her safe from everything, weather to falls. even the dog. lol
MobileCityOnline.com is taking preorders at 69.99 and have a in stock date of 05/06 listed. Think I'll pass on the rooCASE now that I know when the otterbox will ship.

I got a Belkin Portfolio Case for 10.06 @ Target

It's on the clearance rack in the 28th St, Grand Rapids, MI store. There was one left after I got mine. Somebody might find this useful...
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8N632tt-Verve-Folio-Motorola/dp/B004X69CLA
Good Luck
I'd post a pic of the receipt but it got soaked on the condensation from my lemonade bottle. BTW, Simply Lemonade is also on sale.
How do you find the case? I've been lusting over this and $10 is so ridiculously cheap! I live in Australia and I can't find any of these here. It's $40 on Amazon, but they won't ship here. Even if they did, the shipping would probably cost more than the case itself
Unfortunately, the deal is very YMMV as I can only confirm it to be working at one specific Target retail store. Regarding the case itself, I find it slightly underwhelming as I must undo the Velcro flap in order to use it with my docks (even after swapping for the case adapter). My concern is that by opening the flap so frequently (3-4 times per day) it will wear out.
For US$10-$20, it might be worthwhile but it lacks a closure and it is not not dock-friendly so I would not recommend it for above US$20.
EDIT: The case also lacks 2 articulation points shown in the photos. If it was really capable of all of those different bends, it would never be able to hold the Xoom up.
Went to one of my local Target stores and it was regular price still.
how does it hold the zoom in? it looks like a glove frame holds the xoom in.
It has a Velcro flap that covers the bottom. It has cut touts for all of the connectors but it adds too much thickness to use it with the cradles (even with the case adapter) unless you open the flap.
This video shows the flap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etm0UFI5Dj8
I got mine for $7.48, which just means the one i purchased had been on clearance longer at that particular store.
I'm finding I like this case enough that I should have bought both that my store had so I could have a spare when I wear this one out.

Vipertech Premium Leather Slim Case on amazon for $14.99 shipped!

Just a heads up- looks like many of the other cases reviewed here but this one is only $10 shipped. I just ordered one; I'll review it when it arrives. 9 5-star reviews!
*Edit: looks like it's up to $15. Still, appears to be the same as the pyro case and a few others that sell for twice that.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...-options=see-all-buying-options&condition=new
Wow, that looks almost exactly like the Pyro skin clip case that I just bought for $30 bucks. It's listed on amazon for $14.95+shipping now. How did you get it for $10 shipped? If the quality and build is anything like the pyro, I'd be intrigued

looks like they upped it. It was $9.98 when I posted.
I think that the pyro case (and several others) are the same rebranded chinese thing. I really don't care, all I want is to pay less for it. At $15, it still beats most of the others by at least a few bucks. I'll review it when it gets here.
BTW- I'll update the OP with the price.
I bought this case from amazon for 9.98 shipped and received it in two days! They apparently had a promotion going because they refunded my money and let me keep the case for free in exchange for a review. Great case, great build quality and looks great!
This is the 3rd variation of the same case. I think it's all the same manufacturer just different distributors. I'm in!
Just got mine for 9.98 great quality and got it for free after I left them a review.
I don't know how everybody is giving this case such great reviews. Sure, it's cheap and does its job, but the quality is definetely not there. I got mine yesterday and the clips on the top seem somewhat uneven between each corner. Also, the case does not stay fully flat when holding the tablet opened in your hands. That's quite annoying and makes it basically unusable to me. The case also seems to bulge when closed due to the middle clamps holding the tablet; which, by the way, cover a bit of the bottom portion of each speaker.
For the price, I'd give this case 4 stars, but 5 stars is just too much. People are easily satisfied I suppose.

Look, I don't disagree that it's not perfect, but after owning many, many different cases for many different tablets, I have to say that this one is about as good as it gets for the price. The only cases I've seen that are better quality cost $50 or more. Maybe you got one that is defective; for the price that wouldn't surprise me. Get them to replace it. Also, please don't dismiss those of us that are happy with the case with "People are easily satisfied I suppose." That's rude.
BTW- I tried to figure out what you were talking about when you said "the case does not stay fully flat when holding the tablet opened in your hands" and realized the problem: you're not holding it tight enough. It's new material and needs to be conditioned. Squeeze it a bunch of times to loosen and crease the bottom edge.
I'll try to conditition it when I get home. Do you also notice a bulge when closing it from the middle clips?

Yes. I have a clearprotector full body protector and it fits fine. So far no problem with it catching when I open and close the flap.
BTW- I think this is exactly the same case as the "pyro case" which has a huge thread here. Except much less expensive...
Please be honest guys, does your case stay flush when opening it 360 degrees without pushing it against its back? I find this highly annoying. I've been trying to break the leather all day and have had no success!
Also, anyone else here find that the locking flap marked their tablet over time? I'd hate for that to happen.
Thanks in advance...

I received my case with a note that said if I left a 5-star review I would be given a full refund, thus getting my case for free. I'm assuming that's why it's getting so many 5-star reviews.

My case doesn't stay flush (if you mean folding it completely back like a magazine?) but neither did my belkin ultra thin folio. I believe its because of the design. The only way I can see it staying flush is if the material used was very pliable or there was a hinge (kind of like a notebook with rings).
Also, I too felt that it might scratch my tab with the front clip, but so far it hasnt. Overall, its a good case and in some aspects better than the belkin ultra thin folio.
Yeah, it's growing on me. I do wish it stayed more fluch when fully opened. I feel they could have made the flap holding both parts together a bit longer to allow that to happen.
I'm going barenaked with the tablet on this thing. I really hope it doesn't scratch the edges of my tablet. I have been puyshing the locking flap a bit outward so there's not much resistance to close it. Seems to help a bit.

I got a letter shipped with mine that basically said to do a review for the case and rate it and my payment would be refunded. Wrote the review and was refunded the next day.
gah so frustrating!! amazon doesnt ship to nz....sigh sigh.....
What on earth would make this case incompatible with the verizon version of the tab? Something in the case blocking the 4g signal?

New custom case

Hi All,
I just ordered this case for my wife's A100.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0060N4OIK/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
I have a case for my A500, from the same manufacturer, that I am very happy with.
Should get it later today. I can post my thoughts on it once it arrives if anyone is interested.
Wow, this case looks excellent--just like the one I had on my Transformer. Thanks for posting!
Just e-mailed seller, no shipping to Canada, and no equivalent cases on eBay

Just wait, when they are new it just takes some time.
How is this only $15????? And eligible for Amazon Prime, too!
This case is absolutely phenomenal.
Feels like you're holding a dense leather rectangle of quality.
-Fit and finish is perfection
-Thing is completey rigid (no twist or slop-- unlike those bezel-covering slide-in-pocket flip cases)
- Stand is solid and stable
- The clasp mechanism feels fantastic (really, when this thing is closed, it feels locked down).
- Protects the screen, back plastic, and corners. Seems to offer about as much shock/crush/drop protection as any case I've ever seen, yet adds very little in the way of bulk and mass.
- Access to all ports/plugs
Can't exaggerate how much I love this case. Protection factor aside, the thing simply makes me like using my table more.
Thanks for the review! Definitely going with this case now.

Glad to hear my review was useful--post back with your impressions of the case when you get a chance.
[email protected]! I waited too long and Amazon is sold out with no restock date. There are several cases out there, but the Blurex was the only one I saw with corner clips instead of the chunky looking leather frame.
I contacted Blurex to see if there were any other resellers, and they said that it would be back in stock on Amazon shortly. A few hours later, and it's back in stock!
how sure are you that it would help survive a fall while open and in use...looks like it would pop out...
trying to decide between thsi and
the acer bumpter case
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/LC.BAG0A.070
Depending on height of fall and hardness of contact surface, I'm not sure I'd bet on a pane of glass in any case, but the Blurex's corner-clips do hold the tablet with some serious authority. It'd take some funky, but not impossible, physics to pop it out.
The bumper case you linked to looks like what I had in mind before going for the Blurex offering. I figured the small form factor made the A100 more like a reach-for-it-and-go phonelet than a full tablet, so I wanted a hard, snap case with no flap to contend with. When using the tablet in portrait, I'll occasionally get annoyed with the folded-back flap, but the more complete protection and premium/professional appearance/feel of the Blurex case more than make up for it.
I received the Blurex case mentioned by the OP yesterday.
Quite frankly, I have not seen any case fit any device better.
It significantly reduces the amount of bulk the "OEM" case has;
Because it basically has *no* sides, it does not have the OEM case's problem of ports not lining up quite right; and
Its material seems higher quality and is easier to grip in my opinion.
Also, under current (not Black Friday) pricing, it costs only half as much.
Very nice case i like it
Sent from my A100 using xda premium
I received the blurex case today, ordered based on what I read here.
It does seem well-made and I very much like that it adds very little to the dimensions and weight of the A100.
At first the clasp that closes the cover annoyed me when holding it open in portrait to read like a book. (I use Kindle frequently.) The sharp corner dug into the side of my finger.
Then I got out a nail file and just lightly softened the one corner and that pretty much took care of the problem.
As a result, the rounded clasp actually works as a finger hold to grasp the tablet in one hand without putting my thumb on the screen. (See photos.)
Overall, it's a pretty good addition.
I ordered mine last night. I hate the actual case that acer puts out. Cant wait for this one to come in...
My BluRex case arrived yesterday, and it's even smaller than I expected. It a very nicely made case (especially for the price), and fits like a really tight glove (insert OJ joke here). My only concern is that the clip that holds the cover closed might wear through the finish on the side of the tablet over time. Otherwise, great case! Highly recommended!

great! thanks so much for the quick reply...after receiving the unit, and looking at it ocmpared to the car mount we have, think this case will be perfect for it.
Out of stock
It appears that Amazon is out of these... I've checked a couple dozen Google links for the case and they all lead back to the Amazon "out of stock" page.
Anyone know of another source for these cases?
Thanks.
Blurex was out of stock, but stumbled across this at Bureau En Gros.
Acer Portfolio, has a carbon finish and similar looking to the Blurex though not as slim as the Blurex.
All the ports and camera holes fit great. This model doesn't have a smell that i've read in other threads. It doubles as a stand too.
Cover holds down by a magnet, so no intrusive or wailing clasp.
Check out the attachments.
p.s. i had initially posted this in the A500 / A100 case thread, my apologies for double post
So Nolan, do you like the case?

Specific Case Requirements!

Hi guys, I'm about to make the plunge and buy a Note sometime this week from a local store (offer is on, cant miss out!)
However, the only case they sell is pretty...meh. So I'm going to have to order one online.
The one I use on my current ipad1 is a Mophie folio case like this: http://www.avenueapplemac.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/mophie-workbook-iPad_2.jpg
Its a different version for my iPad one, but basically the same. Im looking for another one like it for the Note.
Requirements:
- Folio/flip cover style, to protect the screen when not in use (I dont want to use screen protectors)
- Some way to keep the flap closed. The mophie has the elastic strip which works perfectly, and tucks behind the tablet when its open. Magnets will not be any good, as I hear they interfere with the SPen...
- Should go without saying, but good quality workmanship. Holes all lines up, that sort of thing.
I did look through the cases threads, but a lot of them were back-only plastic cases, or a variety of cheap ebay cases (which in my experience can be very hit-and-miss when it comes to build accuracy).
Amazon searches came up with a couple decent looking cases, but with no shutting mechanism... Worst comes to worst I'll buy a big elastic strap to go round it, but I'd rather not.
Oh yeh, and the other issue was that a few of the promising cases dont exist in the UK amazon store, I guess they are from american companies or something. So a UK sourced recommendation would be nice!
Anyone got any recommendations? Otherwise I shall go for something like...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Poetic-Prot...1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1353898549&sr=1-2
http://www.amazon.co.uk/IVSO®-Samsu...1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1353898459&sr=1-6
Thanks for any help much appreciated
