Adobe Reader - Activation

OK I give up!
Has anyone managed to activate Adobe Acrobat Reader on a Jasjar.
Once I solved the firewall issues it gave a message saying I needed to install on the PPC - but it is.
Suspect Acrobat activation isn't WM2005 friendly.
Same here. Not able to activate on my O2 MINI S (WM 5)
Getting the same error message. Tried on several PCs
:?
I'm confused.
It works fine for me and I never had to "activate" it.

It works for us as well for normal PDF files.
However you need to activate it to read Digital Rights Managment (DRM) protected books. Pretty much any Ebook you pay for (Ebay excluded) is DRM protected to stop you giving it to someone else.

It doesn't work with DRM for purchased Ebooks - only password protected PDF files.
To quote...
Finally, PDF files can be protected using PDF Merchant and EBX digital rights management schemes or 3rd party plugins such as FileOpen, SoftLock etc. APDFPRP does not support such ones, i.e. cannot decrypt them at all.

Microsoft Unveils Windows Mobile 6

Breaking all-new ground in the realm of worst-kept secret ever, Windows Mobile 6 (a.k.a. "Crossbow") has been officially announced by Microsoft. It's a bit earlier than 3GSM, which is where they were going to announce it originally. As such, there's nothing official to link to yet, nor do I have a swanky article all about Windows Mobile 6 because I'm waiting to get a device running the beta back from Microsoft (it's a long story).
Some of the highlights include:
• Full support for HTML email (within the limitations of IE Mobile's rendering engine of course)
• Office Mobile now included, with support for reading and editing Office documents on the Smartphone
• New streamlined functioning of email client: one click delete, reply, etc. Set email flags for follow-up.
• Set "Out of Office" function directly on the device (with an Exchange server of course)
• Windows Vista synchronization with Windows Mobile Device Center
• Calendar ribbon in the calendar application gives you the ability to see your free/busy time easier
• Windows Live client
• Call History is now a part of the contact itself, so you can see when you last phoned that person, etc.
• Internet sharing: there's a new built-in application to make using your device as a modem much easier
As per usual, this latest version of Windows Mobile is about more than just bullet points: there's a lot of background ("plumbing" work) to enable new and better devices. I've had some limited experience with Windows Mobile 6, and it's a solid step forward for the platform. There's nothing particularly amazing about it, but just like Windows Mobile 5 the total number improvements make for a better overall device. I know they've spent a lot of time improving the performance and stability of the operating system in general (which was already quite good in my opinion), but the real test will be the devices.
Everyone is wondering about upgrades I'm sure, but just like last time, it's too early to say what each of the OEMs are going to be doing - but stay tuned here for the official information as we get it!

Requires MS Exhange 2007.
And one thing that I like most - an ability to search over the company address book ("Company Directory"). It requires exchange 2003 sp2 (at least it works on it), but as usual MS made bugs in this feature. After you've found a contact in directory - you cannot return to a normal contact list of your phone, unless you kill the app via control panel/running programs.
I hope this will eventually lead to a rock solid, fully functional WM6 ROM for the Universal!
The news here is sooooooo fast that I can't get anything from google.
Anyway, got this from another thread, it seems that Microsoft has did their part of 'announcing' it somewhere, which I can't seems to find on their website or .. anywhere else.
But, the good news is that, they have schedule to announce it on the 3GSM and that is on early next week, so we ought to have news by v-day
i found http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/07/windows-mobile-6-announced/
on the same link above, says MS have announced it and shows new functionality.

Good application but needs some improvement
Application is useful..however the text field is somewhat small in size. Also, I am unable to scroll down to 'description' and 'password' field is easily...
Have a look at the screenshot. I am using HTC Mozart
Also you will need to allow to copy the password or the account name e.g. twitter handle

That's being added to the list Never thought of that actually Great idea (Y)
1) Also the text box should be bigger so I can See what is getting typed in.
2) I should be able to edit it.
3 ) When pushing the encrypt button the app exists on me.
You should provide an option to have a 'master password' kind of thing. This will keep our encrypted data safe from others. Decrypt option can be used to access all the sensitive information like password, site.
See youtube video link for better idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZyEslVBVCE&hd=1

A masterkey is already being worked on, and it will also affect the cryptation of the data.
I will hopefully release a new version today with:
Site URI clickable and opens in Webbrowser
Able to copy Username/Password/description
Add accound page fixed
Looks nice. But I have one question, can I import passwords database in kdb format (create on PC using KeePassX)? When not are you plan to make this function?
EDIT
Ups, didn't see that is for WP7.
Cool. I shall wait for the new version..I will post the video as soon as I get my hands on the new version. Ability to open link in the new browser, masterkey, ability to copy-paste will definitely make this application much more useful.Al the best.

Creating simple contacts' application

Hello all!
I am looking into development of something which is similar to people's list in people hub. What I want is a huge list of people on one page with (of course) LonglistSelector. When I tap a member of the list, I want the user to be navigated to the details page of that item. User needs to be able to manipulate and modify the data on the details page. The list is going to be real huge. I have a few question about the approach.
1. What is the best way to store data? I am thinking of creating local database with a few columns with person's name in one column, age in another etc.
If this is the approach to go for, can anyone provide me detailed description about the databases? I have deeply gone through the MSDN, WindowsPhoneGeek and many other documentations. I feel dumb about the whole database scenario.
2. Is XML list as database a good approach for large amounts of data or it will be pain?
i would say SQL CE is your best bet to store huge amounts of data. XML is slow at large volumes of data when compared to JSON. I would prefer JSON over XML.

So basically, I need to go with the local database using LINQ. Now, how do I do that? As I mentioned, I have read intensively. However, I just don't seem to get hang of it.

I created my local database with LINQ based off this sample:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/hh286405(v=vs.92).aspx
First define the columns which you would want to create and then modify the sample code to suit your needs.
For contacts, there is an excellent sample available:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/hh286416(v=vs.92)
if you are stuck with some particular piece of code then let me know, i would be glad to help you out

I had gone through those links earlier! Back then, they made very little sense to me. I have researched a bit by now. I will update here if I get stuck somewhere.
hi
i had read the thread now and maybe this example of MS can help you... it's not based on local database, but uses ASP.NET Web API!
so maybe this is a way for you..

I'm attaching my code file to the post. When I try to run the app and click the button (it tries to add an item to the observablecollection) I get NullReferenceException error. Apparently, the collection's instant hasn't been created. But I tried to instantiate it using 'new' keyword - no luck. Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks for the response! After a lot of debugging and (almost literally) adding Debug.writeline after each line of code, I managed to solve it. It had nothing to do with the Database or the ObservableCollection. It was totally different - GroupDescriptor issue! More details here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...ion-while-adding-item-to-observablecollection
I'll post here if I get stuck with something again.
Again, thanks a lot!
Any reason you are using telerik controls? for starters and very simple programs, you can use controls from silverlight toolkit or coding4fun toolkit. i am using longlist selector which does the job just like the jumplist from telerik controls does.

No specific reasons except that the Jumplist provides StickyHeader functionality. And animation framework seems nice addition too!

Switching to W10M from iOS/Android//BB's Domain

Dears,
days ago I purchased a Lumia 950XL Dual SIM after playing for years BBOS and Android and I want trust in it (I am awaiting so much the Elite X3).
The device is awesome and now updated with that releases Firmware: 16082.36013 OS: 14379.0
With me G5, Passport, iPhone 6... I felt all the enviro with pro and cons as most of you.
If the administrators/moderators agree we can stick that topic and make it for people want try that OS not for fun but as daily working unique wingman.
I have some hot questions:
-) Did we have application AirDroid/Pushbullet like to manage the phone directly from the PC/Mac/Linux?
-) Does it is possible to have quick link in the Start menu to call/send sms/send group sms like the Android widget?
-) Does it is possible to import directly the SMS without follow the onedrive way from an Android phone?
Below a VS I did Lumia 950XL and LG G5 (the previous used working phone) with v10g:
http://imgur.com/a/Z06nc
And the first meet with Continuum as a geek or as XDA docet. Next gallery, promise, you will have to look for Sherlock (Apple or the Original of Baker Street it's up to you) to see where a single wired cable is!

Hello and thank you as first!
About the points:
1. Thanks it looks promising, but I need a system with Windows 10 (desktop) to install the client? I will check the docs inside the page.
2. I can create a pin to the name of the people but not to the number or the service inside is profile. E.g. If for Mr.X I what pin his mobile number to send an SMS, I have to access to his profile to tap on "send message" not directly like with a widget.
3. Thanks! I will try.
About Continuum it was an idea to manage the phone looking forward for a full implementation with the X3 from Elite. Which device did you have now?
Cheers,
