FINALLY. I can't stand something that isn't odexed... better battery life and faster. Thank you so much

After my first failure with odexing and having to reinstall the ROM (GE 4.3 on T-Mobile GS4 M919) , can you please, post a FAQ. For example:
- What if I get the "insufficient space" error when using dexo -all?
- Do I need to odex before I make changes to the ROM (mods, third-party launchers, themes) or is it possible to odex a user modified/themed ROM?
- Is it possible to odex a ROM with a custom launcher?
- Do you recommend a particular order of odexing ROM components?
- Do you recommend odexing -data after -all?
Thank you very much.

Deox -sys successfully under Wanam 1.4 rom and everything goes well so far. And it only takes up approximatly 50MB to odex system apps(free space in system partition counts from 650MB to 596MB), which surprises me a little bit.
I, however, do not dare to deox framework cause I use 3minit heavily due to worrying conflicts about changing framework.apk

It works only for S4 ???

Was waiting for this long time. Modaco app only work with his own roms. I have tried it on CM10.2 and it's working. I did dexo -all. Nice work :good:

Could you please use a nicer tone?If you dont like it dont use it,but dont post rude comments to the OP.It takes alot of hard work to develop and modify something like this and it's so annoying when a person that has no idea on development or has never developed anything in his life starts criticizing peoples work.Go away.Xda does NOT need members like you.

New Update!
Changelog:
Universal Odex Version 6.3
- A Lot Of Bugs Fixed

Downloaded last version and flashed it. The dexo -all script manages to odex everything except framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk in /system/framework
Great improvment since the july version which wasn't working with my ROM (the reboot after script execution ended in bootloop).
Thanks for the great work !

is it required firmware to be deodexed ?
Based on your link, this is the Phone.apk from a deodexed SGS ROM?
If so, bad idea....

You have to overwrite the existing Phone.apk and delete the Phone.odex if you have it, clear dalvik-cache and that's it. You need superuser to do that.

I have exactly what's in my signature:
Current Device: Unbranded Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100
ROM: XWKE7 (Rooted) Modem: XXKE4 CSC: XEUKD1
Kernel: XWKE7 Theme: Pauldiddy Remix GB 1.0 Font: ComfortAA1.003
Strange, it should't force close, as I didn't change anything but a line in ringer$1.smali. maybe you have an older rom with the build.prop changed to KE7... Try to put original KE7 phone.apk and see if it force closes.

Yeah, after I overwrite back original phone.apk & phone.odex, all is back to normal.
I know the method/two lines you're talking about... deleting the two lines invoke-virtual {v1, v5, v4, v3}, Landroid/media/AudioManager;->setStreamVolume(III)V. I actually tried this mod previously with a deodexed KE7, but I kept getting force closes, so I didn't posted it.
Not sure why though...
I didn't touch the second line, only the first one and it works ok for me... had used the phone a lot today and I never had any force close.

Interesting, why did you only delete the first line? All the instructions I've read have said to delete both. If you only delete one, that tells me there are certain situations where the increasing ringer would come back.

V1.0
Compiled from latest source of CM10 which you can find the changelog HERE!
Change DPI to 190
Kernel updates:
- bug fix to bln, to prevent kernel panic in some situations (thx to thalamus)
- switched from deep_idle 2 to idle2 (also thx to thalamus)
- updated kernel to linux 3.0.38
- dockaudio sysfs for captivate and fascinate
- data-sysparts gets symlinked at every boot (a user now can just move any file from system to data/sys-parts/xxx, where xxx replaces the path in /system. after reboot the file is symlinked to it's old place)

Well on JB it's not that easy, cause the market wouldn't work below 220 dpi. (well on other roms). So if he fixed that, it would be awesome. But that's just my opinion.

[ROM] Stock UCLJ3 Rooted, Deodexed, Zipaligned( 2 Versions)

Here is the Stock UCLJ3 Firmware for ICS
It is:
Rooted
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Batch Optimized
NOT debloated
Two versions available
Pure stock Here: UCLJ3-Stock-ATT
Stock with data/app and aosp ics lockscreen enabled Here: UCLJ3-Stock-ATT-Aosp_Lock
This rom will wipe all data on flash but i suggest a full wipe anyway.
DEVS and MODDERS:
If you wish to use the aosp lock in your roms, just remove the android.policy.jar from the second version and replace in your rom..
Enjoy!

Odd. I wiped data/cache/dalvik and installed, but it seems like the tw lockscreen and the aosp lockscreen are running in tandem. I can use the aosp ring, OR just swipe the screen like normal. Anyone else run into this/ is this as intended?
Also, I've tried it with the aosp lockscreen option in the settings both ticked and unticked.
Only the top third of the screen seems to be active as the tw lockscreen. In and around the clock.

Thank you, sir. Everything else appears to be in ship shape so far.
Hey Dman, Thanks for providing these for all of us!
Got a quick question. If I add some apk's to the /system and /data, that are from the market, do I need to have them de-odexed?
if so is there a good method to do that to individual apk's?
Thanks again.
P.S. sorry for the noob like question, I'm still a "redneck in training" with developing!!
Any apps from the market need to be placed in data/app and they should already be deodexed. If they're in data/app they can update thru the market.

So this is just basically a debloated sky note vanilla?
Not trying to be negative but I don't really think it's a rom ya know? You just added some updated apps and removed some.
Regardless tho. Thanks for the effort.
P.s you should also have a Thanks section. And thank Sean

i removed alot more than a few apps. like i stated above trimmed over 350mb.Its pretty much a barebones skynote rom. you should probably read the OP again. lol i also gave him credit in the op as well. twice. (even said his rom is the best ive used for this phone. Much respect)
anyways this rom is intended for people that like to have a very light-weight stock rom with great battery life. i dont like having to spend 15 minutes everytime i flash a ROM deleting all sorts of crap i dont need. and this rom fixes that problem. if only one person uses it other than me, thats one person i helped out. and its also easy access for me when i need to find this file again. :good:

The reason I edited it was because using the Tapatalk app I accidently deleted the whole op when I went to copy the text to paste into the comment. Luckily whenever I make a post on the laptop I Ctrl+c the whole thing as a checkpoint. Swear on my kid no bs. The thanks was there from the beginning.
Thanks though.

I'm not here to argue.
As long as you got permission from Sean to use his rom base then it's OK man.

I've already got the leaked India ota for their note 2. Made a flashable zip for the ROM But it won't boot. It just sits on the boot animation forever. I think its because we need an updated bootloader for it to install. Soon though. We should have our KK update this month or next month says sammobile.
