Anker Astro3 external battery - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

So I play Ingress with my phone, tablet and what seems to be any electronic I can get my hands on. So I'm always in need of a little juice for my electronics. I previously owned the EasyAcc 12000 mah portable battery and was decently happy.
I just got my anker Astro3 after looking at specs and wanting a solid feeling charger for my new Nexus 7 Gen 2 and my note 2. Here is my un boxing photos and I'll report my experience if you guys would like.

Have had it for the last couple of months. Lasts a really long time. It has held it charge for months. A bit heavy but feels solid. Use it all the time when Im ingressing.

I have one and would 100% recommend it.

Another +1 on the Anker batteries. I have one and they are great.

I have had it for couple of months now. I have used it almost daily playing ingress and other different reasons. It powers my note 2 no problems. I have noticed that the universal port closest to the smart usb port charges the fastest. The size is convenient. And especially the shake to active feature. When I'm on my roadbike I just shake my backpack and it's starts the current. I still highly recommend it to anyone.

I bought the 20000mah or so anker battery, the one designed for laptops. Its fantastic. Very veryb well built, and works flawlessly. Fully charged it will keep me going for a 5 day trip (maps etc during day, 2 or 3 hours of films or TV shows in the evening)

photo links broken :/ please post again

Battery (BH6X) is SAME as DroidX extended - loads on Ebay

I bought 2 batteries for $21 each from a US seller. they arrived today and are identical (and working).
http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-EXTENDED-BA...uetooth_Wireless_Products&hash=item3a639a09c1
Charger is harder to find. Still only from HK but cheap. $5.99
http://cgi.ebay.com/BH5X-BH6X-Batte...439194?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a0e978bda
So the batteries are exactly the same as the one in the atrix currently? It would be sweet if they WERE extended. I wouldn't mind extra battery life for $21.
so there is no need for that "extended battery door"?
Its exactly the same battery. Identical in every way.
Arrived on 2 days. I have been using the 'spare' and it performs the same. The door thing must be for the drpoidx which prob takes a smaller battery.
The last time I had a standard battery this big was my Treo 650!

heres the charger i got from amazon, looks / works just like the one came with the phone
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EYSKM8
i also got a car charger
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000S5Q9CA
Just to clarify, the EXTENDED Droid X battery is the same as the STOCK Atrix battery. Buying this will NOT be an extended battery for the Atrix.
will this also work http://www.amazon.com/2300mAh-Li-io...1G/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1299095691&sr=8-28 ?

Most of the eBay listings give the capacity of the BH-6X at 1880 mAh, but the specs on the Atrix say the battery is 1930 mAh... wonder if they're 2 versions of this battery.

PowerGen Premium Battery

I just bought two PoweGen Premium batteries for my X10 (they are actually labelled X1). I am extremely happy w/ these batteries. I believe that they actually last longer than my original X10 battery. I bought them thru Amazon for about $24 each.

Also interested in - how much longer work?
I'm using 3600mAh battery.

does this fit with the original cover or you need a other one?

this is what happen to my 1 year old original battery that come with the phone. you can see its already expanding. only last 24hrs standby @ 12hrs medium usage @ 1hr heavy usage
where did you buy this battery in KL ?

Actually i bought at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah when on my visit there. I dont know where to find this battery at KL but sure KL got more choices and cheaper.
Now its been 1 day 16 hours since unplugged. Pretty heavy use. Lots of calls, sms, poweramp, etc.. Just finish 3 hours straight youtube & browsing using wifi and still got 30% juice.

wondering how to change this battery?
Was my biggest worry with buying this phone, would be awesome to be able to finally upgrade the battery
Battery Packs
There are 3000+ mAh battery packs available that have a short cable to plug into the micro usb port. While quite small, not really something you'd consider to be a daily driver.

They generally cost around $25 US.
I've even seen 10,000mAh battery packs

with the right rom and power tweaks, I've found the battery to be sufficient. I text often, make numerous voice calls, read the news, some social media and other random apps daily. Lasts me from wake to sleep with no problems
I purchased a Unicharge 5600 mah external battery for 20 dollars off Amazon. Works well for whenever I need some extra battery. I can usually get about 7-8 hours from my One V (Airplane mode but with Wi-Fi enabled and with moderate camera use).

Samsung SPH-D710 OEM Battery + Charger

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-ET-CGPK009GSTA-SPH-D710-Battery-Charger/dp/B005LBEA6I
Package Contents: Battery Charger, Travel Charger, Standard Battery
I just bought this. It is on sale for $31.80 with free shipping. It's also sold by amazon!
Yeah I saw it it was 33 a couple days ago. I ended up wanting something NOW. Walked into a sprint store they no longer carry it. Bought the Sprint version/battery. Works great but more expensive and its not as small or as useful or include a charger.
I have this one. Works great and love the stand.

For the first time I broke 4 hours screen time on stock blazer 4.1. I ended up with 4.5 hours. Turns out my old battery was simply crap and a new one did the trick!

click on other new and used sellers. Amazon is listed there. it's going for 29 bucks from Amazon now.
Go with the anker batteries. They don't sell them for our phone specifically but the vibrant/fascinate batteries work great. I paid $26 after shipping and tax for two batteries and a charger. Plus if you go to the evo 4g forums and some others anker has rave reviews from people here

External batteries/Portable chargers

I'm looking to buy one for when i'm traveling to charge my phone/tablet and looking for suggestions on brands/models/etc. Probably don't really want to spend much more than ~$50 on one. Only requirements are that it isn't too big and bulky to not fit well in a laptop travel case. And the more mAh the better obviously. Thanks.

There are a lot of brands out there. Morphie seems to be one of people's top picks - probably because it looks super nice and marketed well. I personally have never own one and think it's a bit on the pricey side. I have a Ravpower one with 10,400 mah which was mentioned in this thread if you wanna take a look. Works great. Not heavy at all which was surprising. And can charge my nexus 7 about 2 times before i need to charge again. Think Ravpower have smaller ones too, but 10,400 might be their largest capacity charger.
These portable power chargers seems to be everywhere now. You can probably find some in stores too. Think I saw a low mAh one at Lowes the other day by either Duracell or Energizer, but these might not be best for heavy charging.
I just ordered 2 antec powerup 3000's apparently they have Panasonic batteries. I will report back!

9000mAh Portable Charger - charge 2 devices at once
There is a portable charger from Trident Case that allows you to charge 2 devices at once...one port is for small devices like a phone (1.0A) and the other is for larger devices like tablets (2.0A)...all you need is a USB plug to charge...it comes with a micro USB cable. It's originally $99 but they are having a sale through Feb. 18th
