Need this sticked as a notice that we are all beta testers for 4.2... - Droid RAZR M General

http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=xt907&type=stable
Nothing yet. RC or stable.
Many know this. This just spells it out.
I also assume the stable comes before the RC?
It is confusing.
Seems the RC should come after the stable.

Nightly -> M Snapshot -> Release Candidate (RC) -> Stable
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Xt907_Info
Since we were just recently added to the project (after most devices received RC and stable) , I doubt we will see another stable release until CM10.2 is stable.
However, I would consider the nightly builds on CM10.1 (Skrilax, Dhacker29 or CM's official build) to be pretty stable, as most use it as their daily driver.

I post this because stability has not been my experience with any 4.2 roms.
But thanks for the explanation.

Tried again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44425110&postcount=1909
cm-10.1-20130821-NIGHTLY-xt907-skrilax.zip
Everything froze up in 10 min.
I did the 3 x wipes sys,data,intsd..., reboot recov.
I did let my std set of play apps download & maybe that is not what a beta tester is suppose to do.

Straight, simple question. So, what do you use ?
I am on Android Revolution HD, but very very eager to move on to Sense 4 or AOSP ICS once it's stable as a pyramid.
Been bouncing around lately, but keep coming back to andro test builds. So stable they should be full releases and no issues with camera etc.
Try it out. You won't be dissapointed.

I like Sense 4 UI but too much things aren't working correctly so i can use a Sense 4 ROM as a DD.
On the other hand, AOSP ICS ROM are now quite stable and there are only minor issues left so you should it give a try. Any of it should be fine.

Difference between CM9 RC1 and CM9 Nightly builds?
While they are both official release .
Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
RC is a point in time where they froze the code and made a ROM from that. RC builds they accept bug reports from.
Nightlies is a daily built ROM with all changes the cyanogenmod team have done in the repo. Changes done on nightly build can break the ROM, so you use that at your own risk. It is also the reason they don't accept bug reports on nightly builds since one can accept things to not work when trying new code.

I've been flashing roms for maybe 6 months now, from galaxy s 2 to gnote, HTC eco 4g lte, flashed many many unnoficial CM9 roms.
Now I got the gnexus for about 2 days and am ready for root and flash .
Do you recommend the official CM9 RC1? As opposed to nightly builds?
I wanna just flash and chill until 4.1 becomes flawless.

Well, the RC is a stable code so there will be less bugs then with a nightly. But then again you won't get the bleeding edge that Nightlies provide.
So go with nightly if you wanna test the new things, and stick to RC if you find Nightlies a little buggy.

Cm9 RC 1 is old
Nightly is newer.
Cm team just gets tired of people *****ing about stable releases so they just call one of the nightlies as an RC. All the code freeze stuff doesn't matter.
Stability is exactly the same, there is no such thing as RC1 being truly stable.
Galaxy Nexus GSM
Guess ill just test both and see which I'd like more. I ran some benchmarks on the stock and it craps out at 2200, while I'm used to seeing 50+ with previous devices.

I wouldn't go as far as saying stability is exactly the same, but I do agree with RC's not being truly stable. Using an RC puts less risk on the user because in the nightlies they are constantly tweaking code and they could break something that was previously functional with all the changes they make. If you look at it like this, you would probably also say that an RC is more stable than a nightly.

Looks like theres cm10 nightlies

Well, nightlies are a new build every night, so they can vary. Sometimes features are added & removed, as nightlies are test builds before a RC(release candidate).

no offense, but i highly doubt that it should be called a daily. there are still LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of things that need to be fixed and implemented into these CM10 builds. everyone working on it is doing an AMAZING job, but it isnt a daily just yet. still has some reboot issues for some, screen flicker, etc...
i just hope its not too long till the RCs start comin.
Disabling HW overlay solves the flickering and reboot issues. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend trying it out. I ended up going back to freegs3 however. I actually admit that i missed a lot of tw's interface and features. After the cm10 settled a bit it seemed to be just as fast as freegs3 (overclocked) with the exception of improved touch response. Battery life was a bit better too since i have to oc to match cm10's speed.
I love cm10 but the data speeds suck on it. 5-6 mbps. Curious about the nightlies though. And I never ever had reboot issues with cm10.

Well, I ran cm10 for about 5hrs today, and out of roughly 10 phone calls, 3 of them lead to a reboot mid call. I didn't try a reinstall and I also never really looked into it. Maybe fixing permissions, clearing cache & dalvik would've helped resolve the issue, or I could've had a bad flash? Just because it happens to one person doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to everyone.
Very true.

What's the proper procedure for flashing nightlies over one another? Is it simply wipe cache, wipe dalvik cash, flash latest nightly, reboot? IIRC a full wipe is not necessary when flashing a new nightly over a previous nightly, correct?

as far as i know it is not necessary, but it is, as always, highly suggested. bug reports hold less water if it is not a clean install, and you are more likely to run into bugs especially as they fix the bigger issues.

So far the most stable JB ROM is the CM10 nightly from 8/21. I've used all sorts of ROMs including every release of CM10 since 8/8 and while every other ROM/build i tried had many bugs, the 8/21 nightly with the lean kernel and HW Overlays disabled has been absolutely flawless for me. All my apps are working, no reboots, no screen flickering, no audio issues, no notification LED hiccups, and blazing fast.
I'm sure the 8/23 nightly is just as stable but I'm content enough with my current setup that I don't plan on flashing again until a fully stable RC is available.

I've been pretty amazed lately at how many people require Netflix on their phones. I think the longest video I've watched on any phone is a 7 minute Youtube video...
I watched shows on Netflix while sitting in bed next to my kid waiting for her to fall asleep. I'd prefer watching ion my 55" lcd instead, but it's so convenience on the phone. Plus our S3 has an awesome screen for watching Netflix.

[ROM] [CM 10.2] Unofficial - 09-05_1813 [CM Accounts]

Hello all,
This is a straight up compile of Cyanogemod's source. Nothing more, nothing less. I have been contemplating whether or not to start this thread simply because I really don't have time to maintain a thread with work, school, and family but since I have not seen a working build posted yet so I decided to give mine. From what I have seen (my wife has been using as daily driver) CM 10.2 is pretty stable for d2 devices already. Battery was an issue but that seems to have cleared.
I compile at least once a day, and usually twice so these builds will be my latest. If there are no significant changes upstream, I will not post a new build. I am really not a coder, although I have a little experience, so please don't ask me to fix things because I most likely won't know how to. Like I said, I am compiling directly from source.
My build names are time stamped as to when they were compiled, right down to the minute (PDT). The Gapps I post are the ones I used. I am not sure which thread I acquired them from, so I am truly sorry to the original poster. I tried many and most were bloated with unneeded apps so I chose this one. If they are yours, please let me know so I can give credit.
This thread will pretty much become obsolete once nightlies for 10.2 are available.
ROM is hosted on Google drive. Any mirrors are welcome.
Full wipe is needed if coming from any other non CM 10.2 ROM. If root is needed, go to Settings-->About Phone-->Tap Build Number seven times. Developer options are now available in settings. Under Developer Options-->Root Access select Apps and ADB.
Mostly everything works. It is very stable and battery on par with 10.1.
As far as a changelog, I don't really have one because it is just changes merged straight from CM. You can look at github here or gerrit here and get a general idea. Anything merged before my build time (in the name of build) will be in the ROM.
