I got a shell w/holster from the store. I'm not seeing it online though. They didn't have any other cases that looked like they would even protect the phone.

Aren't you worried about damaging it? I'm not talking about nicks or scrapes... I'm talking about cracked/shattered glass :/ I'd rather not have a case either - but I'm a total klutz!!
I will gladly pay my deductible to see my phone as it was intended everyday. I loath cases.

Just ordered a diztronic black tpu case. Verizon had some nice looking tpu cases but I feel after time the back of it would peel off. There cases on the back had a carbon fiber look to it. Diztronic has always made a good case. So my phone is naked until it arrives. Btw, the just released there tpu case for the Maxx today.

The Bumper Case has a glossy clear plastic back right? I wish it just had a matte/frosted back instead.. not a fan of the gloss.
Gonna see if the store in town has the Speck. The store I got my Maxx from only had an Otterbox or the holster combo so I got the Otterbox just to have something.

The bumper case has no back. It's just a wrap around the outside of the phone - the back and front are open.

Just wanted to make sure as there are cheap "bumper" cases that actually aren't bumpers, but also have a clear back on it. :good:
I normally dont dig cases but decided to get one for my Mini mainly because its so thin and has a slick back. I went with the Otterbox Commuter (black) and actually like how it looks and feels on the phone.

Lol. They're all going to get dirty. There's nothing you can do about that.
I got a clear one for my wife's white nexus and its great. Its made by amzer and sold on amazon. I think it was like 8 bucks.

Yea I saw the Cruzer Lite one. I have used their cases before and they are pretty good quality. Anyone out there have this one?...stain resistant? I was hoping there was one out there with a special coating or something.

There's been report that the case does stain. Apparently you can't wear blue jeans and have the case in jean pocket.
You want something white but won't stain? That's like wanting a black car that won't ever get dirty

Please do. I love the Rearth case and the fear of the staining the white paint has been preventing me from indulging a purchase. My white Cruzerlite case, and even one of those cheap eBay S-line hybrid case, was yellowing after a couple days of light handling.

Thanks for the input guys. The Ringke slim case looks nice, but it doesn't cover the whole device. It looks like the Cruzer Lite will stain apparently. I may just have to settle on another color...white looks so cool though

Try white Mercury TPU...
It's cheap, i think it has less sparkles than the ultra capsule. There's no totally white ultra hybrid.

So I am waiting on my Galaxy S III to arrive and I'm very excited, but I really fear breaking the phone somehow, yeah guriella glass and everything but as others have pointed out its scratch resistant not scratch proof, so basically I need to find a case for my new phone.
Here's the issue tho, I think the pebble blue s iii is a beautifully designed phone, home button notwithstanding, and I love the color of it, so I need a case that will protect the phone without messing too much with its form and color. I've been looking at a thin clear tpu case but idk, what do u guys think?

Though I say the flip cover case wins my vote, or a tpu case.
I usually dislike cases because they add too much bulk, but the the GS3 is so slim that the TPU case (Kays Case) makes it much easier to hold. It also looks very nice and still remains plenty thin. I almost considered an Incipio Feather due to its slim factor, but I'm planning on sticking with this TPU or even something more substantial.

I highly recommend the Ringke SLIM Lite from Rearth. Minimal case, nice texture, slightly raised lip around the screen. The screen protector the sell with it is also really good. Very clear and feels like it isn't even there.

I personally really like this clear hard rubberized Belkin case I bought from best buy. I also bought a zagg invisible shield hd screen protector. Seems pretty well protected to me; and it has a very clean look.

I went with this case from case-mate. Its a two piece that should provide nice drop protection. Considering how thin the GS3 is I figured a slightly more substantial case isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I cannot independently confirm it but all that I've read and researched says all the siiis are the exact same dimensions so cases should match perfectly.

depends on what you're looking for. If you want something slim that doesn't add a lot of bulk the Cimo S line cases are good way to go but I'd only get the solid color ones like black or white unless you like the clear type. For the Guy who asked why I'm using GB, put it this way...I've already run some of the ics roms and while they're cool to me, I still prefer GB. That's just how its going to be for a while until I feel like moving on

I'm glad you like it because I did the white carbon full body from ghost armor on my white sgs2 and nearly had a heart failure when I went to pick it up 20 minutes later. Had them take it off right there and then and did the matte full body. I just thought it looked hideous. The dude thought he would get crafty and he cut a square where the "S" is on the battery cover, so it could be seen. He goes "we don't have pre cut ones like the iphone has for the apple but I thought I would try it". I nearly died.... Anyway... Glad you like it yours though.

Do not like this at all (and I love my Otterboxes). Currently I have tried the Spigens (OK build quality but none were keepers) and I'm using the Caseology which has good build quality and solves a few issues I had with the Spigens) until I find something comparable to a Defender.

As bad as it sounds this and work are the only reasons I'm looking for a rugged case. Otterbox has been my "go to" case but they're getting lazy recently with their commuter line and now not even having a case at all for the N5 is forcing my to go elsewhere.

I've owned many iBlason and Ballistic cases. In person, the Ballistic has always been nicer.

I've used several Otterbox Defenders and Ballistic cases, the Ballistic cases have consistently been higher quality and lasted much longer than any of the Otterbox Defenders. Ballistic makes excellent cases if you need that high level of protection. I don't use them anymore as I'm not climbing telephone poles and crawling under houses anymore, but I always had great experiences with them.
Has anyone found a crystal clear tpu case for the nexus 5? I've found a ton of frosted or matte, but none that are truly clear.

There clear back cases out there. However, if you are looking for TOTALLY clear, the Ringke Fusion and Spigen Ultra Hybrid have clear versions.
There's also the Poetic atmosphere,even though not totally clear, it has tpu hybrid properties as well.

Check this one out it is the one I use which is way better than any of the cheap clear TPU cases you can get on ebay that yellow very quickly and it feels great. I recommend it :good:

one thing about the cheap clear tpus is that they start turning yellowish after using it for a while mainly because of heat/oil/dirt etc... as for the hard cases dont think they'll change in color, i had the clear/black ringke fusion for my N4 and it never changed in color only got scratched up :silly: just a heads up if you're thinking of getting the ones from ebay

They arent worth it. In a week to a months time it will get dingy and yellow. Look into the one I linked to or you can buy like a bunch of clear ones to replace them as they yellow lol
I hate hard cases though. Oh well.

ebay got some great tpu cases. ordered 2 so far and really happy with the first one i got, although it is tight and does bubble my screen protector.

+1 for the Diztronic glossy clear case. It's glossy/clear on the outside and frosted on the inside so unlike some of these other ones, it shouldn't yellow over time. It also feels great in your hands and fits the N5 very nicely. See the link in my signature.

There are completely clear ones, but you shouldn't get them. All 100% clear TPU cases (cheap, expensive, generic, name brand) will start to yellow due to oxidation.
A frosted or smoke one will be the next best thing. White, Black, Gray frosted/smoke TPU cases will still be see through (just not perfectly see through) but won't yellow.
For example, this used to be a clear Diztronic TPU case.
