Rooting

Is there a way to root in bootloader? Thanks.
Fairly certain i told you this before, but for gingerbread, go to revolutionary.io, install the driver, boot into the bootloader, connect as fastboot, follow the instructions.

No that type of PC36IMG won't work. Are you sure you have the revoultionary.io drivers installed?
Pretty sure you need Usb debugging on when you have it plugged in for revolutionary to read it

Yup! I used it to root then PC36IMG to unroot when the white screen of death came upon me.

That's correct, though he can't get into the os because he bootloops. I'd say flash a new boot.img via fastboot, but he's having trouble getting the device to read.

Try this PC36IMG file on your SD card
http://goo-inside.me/supersonic/ruu...15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip
It won't root your phone, but might get rid of the bootloop.

Ok hboot update.
it is a ruu file that you run from your pc to go back to stock "just out of the box". it may get rid of your issues. Thats the first thing I would try. dont worry about s-on or s-off and all that...just run it.

I renamed it to PC36IMG and flashed it from my sd card it updated the hboot and still bootlooping and it wasn't an rru file it was a zip file.
Did u flash any voltage lowering scripts like vipermod? Also are u now s-on or s-off? Since you are back to stock now and are still getting reboots, I would say u may be sol. Get it replaced

ADB with Jellybean

Hi, has anyone managed to get ADB working with Jelly Bean? I'm running CM10 and I can't seem to get ADB working. I've downloaded the drivers from the SDK but windows still says it can't find the driver, even when I manually specify where the driver is.
Try 1wayjonny's Universal Naked Drivers over in his thread in the dev section. It's the best. Be sure to remove all traces of the old drivers first.
Do you have a adb debugging enabled on the phone? CM10 has this disabled by default.

And I'll add adb works when you are on booted and when you are on recovery.
Adb does not work on bootloader, fastboot works on bootloader.

Alright, will do. Not at home now. I've never had any ADB drivers installed as this is a clean windows 7 install.

Even today, a friend of mine installed the naked drivers, started adb, device found
I watched him as he did it, guiding him through the commands to push, reboot recovery, the works, and Windows 7 pulled it quite well.
I don't use windows at home, but he did it without troubles at all.
So yeah. ADB has been around for ages, and it will be coming back.
And it's the second proof I see: most of these so called issues with drivers, should be handled on <insert host OS here> forums and not on xda. Most of times, users just don't get it.

Well after some research last night, and some wasted hours, i now know that ADB does not work in boot Not at all.
So how would I get a log from boot? How does everyone else do it?

Yes everything my backups and my roms everything.
Are you sure they were wiped and not doing the /0 folder thing that comes with 4.2?
Are you using the newest version of whatever recovery you are using?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917237 <-- that should answer your adb on mac questions though.

Your bootloader is unlocked. Put the phone into Factbook mode by using the menu when the phone first turns on. Download and Install this to your pc: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24521665358595410 (its drivers and stuff). Then download twrp: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/dianl.../oneplus3/TWRP
Save the img file somewhere and plug your phone into your pc in fastboot mode. Open minimal adb fastboot from earlier and type: fastboot flash recovery PATHTOIMGFILE
Where path to img file could be c:\users\dave\desktop\twrp.img

Let me know if you manage it. Should be simple enough
You should use Grarak's TWRP. It's much more compatible with various ROMs.

I know, don't worry! I'm actually still hoping for a twrp that will let you back up EFS if one comes out. I have done it manually for now but it would be super convenient

We'll have that option when someone gets official build status. Efs backup is something you take for granted until you have an issue.
I'm getting this error message at the stage of trying to install twrp! Every time
