Not to loose your date do no vipe.
1. I made a backup with CWM(just to get back if necessary)
2. install newest Version with Odin(personal data will not be lost)
3. Root your System like you did before with arco68 Manual
Mine S4 works fine

and how should Odin be configured? If I press start whit the folloing configuration whit phone in download mode nothing happens
Message only says <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)

Hi. You need to be in odin download mode. Not cwm.
you also have the wrong image. You said you would like to have ......MG8
you need to uncheck F..
on your screenshot i miss the connection to your fone
Have you installed kies with driver and closed the kies process in the taskmanager of your pc?

I cant find UAMG8 for NEE (nordic regions) there is only UAMG4 avalible what I can see..

Hi, you have now 2 Options.
1st Options take the newest NEE (G4)
2nd Options take a newer one from another Country . G8 or H1 Take one from a Country with the same language.
because in each Rom are all languages but you can only see a few of them. In Germany i have all enabled.
I think stock are only 3 or 4 languages visual.
But in any way you Need the hole Image with about 900mb. The new kernal is alwas included you do not Need to update the kernal seperate.

[FIX] Release: 3-button combo fix for any firmware version

Yesterday Samsung released a update for Bell GT-I9000M which fixed the missing 3-button combo issue (i.e faulty secondary bootloader, SBL).
Unfortunately the fix is currently only available to Bell customers thru Kies, so a registry hack and excess flashing is needed to update the bootloader to another variants.
I have been working on a new P-SBL Redbend fix, but unfortunately I bricked my phone (three times actually ) while testing it.
It seems that Redbend cannot program multiple blocks in a single run, unless the OTA commands are used (they are currently unknown). I could program the two blocks but the phone turned in a brick after succesfull programming. The reason is unknown.
Thats why I decided to revert back to Odin method.
With the newest method it is unnecessary to flash XWJM5 firmware in first, as the compatible Primitive Bootloader is included in the same package and will be updated at the same time with the Secondary Bootloader.
So here is the procedure (once again):
Preparations: Make sure you have the drivers installed (i.e Kies is recognizing the phone), adb available and "USB Debugging" turned on in "Settings -> Applications -> Development" menu. Type *#0228# in the dialer and check Voltage value (without USB plugged in) is atleast 3800(mV).
1. Unplug the phone from the computer (if connected)
2. Kill all Kies related software (tray agent, etc)
3. Start Odin3 v1.3 Downloader
4. Plug in the phone to the computer
5. Start a new command prompt and navigate to the folder / drive where adb is located.
If you haven´t downloaded adb yet, get it here.
6. Type "adb reboot download" to the command prompt and press enter.
7. Move to Odin3 v1.3 downloader and select the "Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5" as PDA file. Make sure "Phone Bootloader Update" is ticked and re-partition is unticked. Do not select any other files but "Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5".
8. Press "Start" button to launch the update process. It will take around three seconds to complete. After the update phone will reboot automatically.
Download the fix: GT-I9000_P-SBL_RCVDL_FIX_ODIN.7z
Both bootloaders are the latest version and therefore compatible with each other.
UPDATE 10/02/2010: Previous methods replaced with the latest (& the safest). ZERO bricks reported so far.
UPDATE 10/18/2010: If you don't want to read, then skip to message 124 of this topic to get the version compatible for your phone, and read all messages that follow for all other releases.
Wow you champ! this should make lot's of people happy.. mine works fine...
Fantastic! worked like a charm! Nice one Richthofen!!
Try a T-Mobile Phone.
Flash is ok Phone goes Black for Reboot and don´t come back.
Powerbutton not working...

Two things I didn't do from your instructions
1. didn't tick repartition
2. Only had Odin 1.0 (I think that is where is FAILED)
At least I know what to do if my phone comes back neutered.
GREAT NEWS!
So I assume that this method will also work on the international version of i9000, which was sold in europ and asia as far as I know.
Am I right? Anyone test it on an international version i9000 yet?

uVex, but you did not use this method am I correct? You used KIES?
Like you said in the other thread: "Just try it with a German T-Mobile Galaxy.
I use Kies to make the Update. After flash phone goes black and stay black "
Is there someone who succeed to install this fix on a Belgian "Proximus" device.
the answer is probably obvious, but this fix should work for every firmware, and having installed a lagfix (RyanZA 2.3in my case) does not matter either ?
Lagfix will not change anything.
This fix writes only BML4 partition.
thought so, but thanks for confirming.

I wasn't aware that there were i9000s outside of Bell's that had 3-button broken...
will this change my original branded firmware or is only the 1 file that needs to be updated?
It won´t touch the rom at all.
Richthofen 2 different computers....
Dont think its the computer. Befor the odin brick is flashed jph to the phone via kies...
So there must be something with the tmobile germany phones

Any RomManager or Root installed ?

[RECOVERY][ROM]Huawei U8500

Hey,
I recently bought this phone Huawei U8500, and I had a long search on the net where can I get a working recovery, finally I found a modified clockworkmod recovery.
It seems that this phone is highly unpopular.
I just wanted to share my finding.
Here you can download this modified version: Download
Steps to install recovery:
1. Download the clockworkmod
2. Unrar it somewhere on your computer
3. Turn off your phone
4. Press & Hold volume down key + call end (red) key and then press power key.
5. Launch the .bat file on your computer + connect your phone via USB
6. When it's finished, take out the battery and wait 5 seconds before putting it back in
7. Then you can access the recovery by holding volume up key + call(green) key
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One thing I can recommend If your phones android build version doesn't end with "712", I suggest you to update it to the beta release, you'll have more functional dual-touch.
Here is the beta froyo update: Download
To install it:
1. Unrar it to your computer, and find a folder named "dload" with the biggest size.
2. Copy that "dload" filder to root of your SD card
3. turn off phone
4. Hold volume up key + end call (red) key and the press power key. Wait for it to load, it will say something like "Updating system" Wait for it to finish, if it says fail, just try again
5. After it says "Update complete" or "Update successful" just restart your phone and you'll have the new beta firmware.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Russian site I found some unofficial ROM's too.
I haven't tried them yes but if someone is willing here you can download them:
Firmware 2.2 29.01.2011 by Pavlo78
u8500_mao_rls7b2
u8500_mao_rls7++by_march_2
u8500_mao_rls8_by_march
u8500_mao_rls8_by_march
To install one of these ROM's do the following:
1. Copy the ZIP file on root of your SD card, the ZIP file, not RAR.
2. Boot up your phone in recovery mode (by holding volume up key + call(green) key)
3. With your optical trackpad select "Install zip from sd card"
4. From the list choose your ZIP file
5. And then just wait till the installation is complete and then just restart the phone!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I highly recommend you to back up the original firmware before installing new ROM's
You can do that in recovery mode, just click on nandroid and follow the on screen instructions it will backup your current firmware + your currently installed apps.
I'm not responsible for bricking your phone, if something doesn't go well. By doing the things I wrote, you may void your phones warranty.
Don't forget to thank me
Kind regards
xcoder_123
Bro, may i have to wipe all data via recovery like slash, cache and dalvik cache before i install froyo beta?
This is really helpful...a lot of Bangladeshis will be needing this. Telenor just launched this phone here.
I am using Huawei U8500 (Local branded as GrameenPhone Crystal). I have backed up my current ROM using ROM Manager. Can anyone confirm that the back-up ROM contains all the information including the Customized Branding???

I did download the beta firmware.
And updated the phone's firmware a few minutes ago.
I have the dual touch now, yay (and a little better keyboard).
Many thanks from a Droid noob.
This should be enough for all your stock rom needs.

BTW: If you install the clockwordmod, you will lose the GP stock bootup screen (not the boot animation). So if you are going to claim warranty make sure you flash the GP firmware before you go to the GP centre.
Someone was asking how this phone is...the only issue I have is knowing that I'll never have flash on this thanks to the arm6 processor.

There is a thread in the port section of the Cyanogenmod forum. It started with a lame question but later a lot was discussed about gingerbread 2.3.4. There is a Chinese developer (Slax) who has been working on the rom. However, this rom does have a few issues.
I don't know Chinese and google translate is incomprehensible. You should be able to find all the links needed in the cyanogenmod forum.
here is the link.
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/21467-huawei-u8500/
for froyo try trial and error with all the official roms. if you don't like one change it. eventually you will find one that meets your need.

Dear bro,
This link doesn't work. Pls, help me with a active link.
Thanks in advance.
Hello XCoder, and all!
I try this steps, but i stopped after 4th step...
I get a boot logo, and the XP can't recognize droid, unknown device.
than the .bat file just wait for connection.
i try lot of drivers (original U8500, Original Android, and the SDK's driver too) and still "unknown Andoid device"
If i get out battery, take back, and standard Power On, the XP recognize the "Android Composite ADB" device, and bind the SD card, and CDROM image, and works perfectly.
but i can't upgrade in Standard Mode
can anyone have an idea, how i can access the Droid under Recovery Mode?
and all links of huaweidevice.com are unavailable
have new link?

wow...I am a newbie, man. SOrry!!! How do I boot into the stock recovery
I've tried to install back MIUI or even the original android version (both in a zip file) from the SD card inside the phone after I hold VOLUME UP + HOME BUTTON + POWER (then I a choose "update from SD card").. Is that stock recovery?? If "yes", when I tried to make the installation thru this way, my phone replied the following error message "E: signature verification failed".
Don't install yet. Clear everything first then boot. If all goes well go ahead with the update.

Hello everybody! I've resolved this all by myself.
Using Odin, I installed to my phone a non-official Android Jelly Bean OS (catched on the MIUI official website offered as a "backup"). After that I could install the original Android version for my phone with no problems at all.
My phone's working perfect right now.

SPH-L520 NJ1 update question

I have obtained a Sprint s4 mini. From what I can find, the current kernel is SE secure enforcing.
The exact build number is KOT49H.L520_4.4.2_0016
Build date is Oct 7 2014
I am not new here, I know that all known root methods are now bust. What other options are there?
Searching seems to be pretty difficult for this device. All searches for bootloader and recovery come up for the i9190 / i9195
If I use Kies or Odin to flash a previous recovery image, will that brick the device? Also in the settings, it says Secure Boot Status - Type: Samsung
Guess that is referring to the Knox enforcing
The particular image I had in mind to flash with Odin is SPR-L520VPUAMK2-20131115204826
Will it work? Or am I screwed?
Well no one was able to answer my question, so I had to figure it out on my own. Hopefully the following information will be of help to someone else without spending 36+ hours digging through the internet for answers.
You CAN fix your phone it you are on the NJ1 kernel. This is NOT a guide to fixing a bricked phone, although it may fix that too.
If you are on the NJ1 kernel, there are no root methods currently available. You MUST be on NE3 or lower. I also attempted to flash the custom recovery through Odin, but after a reboot it was as if I did nothing. No Knox flag, no warranty trip, no custom recovery.
Here is what I did to get custom recovery and root:
READ THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING STEP 1.
This is only for the Sprint variant of the S4 Mini. Model number SPH-L520
Your Warranty could be voided. Proceed if you like. (More info on steps 5 and 6)
I had a horrible time getting the downloads from Sammobile. You WILL have to create an account and login to download files. I could not find any working links for the firmware below except for this site. Register a user name and password, DO NOT UNCHECK THE BOX that says receive emails from Sammobile OR YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR REGISTRATION EMAIL. On the Register page it is at the bottom. After you register, check your email and click on the link to complete the registration.
Close all your windows that are open to sammobile.
You are going to want to download Internet Download Manager in order to download files from Sammobile. After many many attempts to download the firmware from Sammobile, all tries failed. YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IDM to get a reliable download.
Download IDM ---> https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html
Install it and follow these directions to enable resume downloads in IDM ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765456
If you do not do the steps above, you most likely will have failed download after failed download.
Even after setting this up, the firmware download failed on me twice. I deleted it from the download list in IDM and started it again.
IDM integrates well with Internet Explorer. Kinda buggy with Chrome. I would suggest using IE for the rest of this Tutorial.
Ok, now that you have that squared away, move on to step 1
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
1) Flash your phone back to NE3. You can get that here ---> http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/31482/L520VPUBNE3_L520SPTBNE3_SPR/ (click Regular Download, then on new page right-click Confirm Download and click SAVE AS. After that the IDM window should pop up. Just Start Download)
Also go ahead and download download the NJ1 in case things get rough. List of all firmwares here ---> http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SPH-L520/
2) Download and install the Samsung drivers ---> http://www.mediafire.com/download/a4hd8y0c1iakysk/Samsung-Usb-Driver-v1.5.49.0.exe
Download Odin 3.09 ---> http://androidhost.org/PVAIv
Unzip Odin to a folder or desktop. Do not run it from in the zip folder.
3) Run Odin 3.09.
Reboot your S4 Mini SPH-L520 into download mode. Turn phone off > Hold Volume Down, Home Button, and Power Button all at the same time. Wait for the phone to buzz and the pop up on the screen. Release the buttons and press Volume Up to confirm.
Now plug in your phone to your computer. It might take a few seconds for the drivers to install. Wait until Odin shows blue color in the first bar on the left side. Should say 0:[COM3] (the COM number will be different depending on your computer and the USB port you plugged it into)
VERY VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure that the AUTO-REBOOT and F. RESET TIME boxes ARE checked. Make sure that the RE-PARTITION box is NOT checked.
4) Unzip the NE3 download from earlier. Click on the AP button in Odin and navigate to where you unzipped NE3. It should be a .MD5 type of file
Give Odin a few mins to check the file. It may appear that Odin has hung up, just be patient.
After Odin has run the check, it should say ok in the little window on the bottom left. Now click START and wait.
DO NOT bump the phone, the laptop, the usb cord, and MAKE SURE THE BATTERY DOES NOT FALL OUT!!!
After Odin is done flashing, it will reboot the phone. After the initial reboot, the phone will reboot itself once more. Be patient
Now wait for the phone to completely boot up.
5) After you have got back to ME3, you can follow this guide to root it ---> http://androidxda.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s4-mini-sprint-sph-l520
You already have most of the files you need. Just follow the instructions and download what you do not have already.
By the way, in Odin the AP button and the PDA button are the same
(This method should not trip the Knox counter, but I am unsure. Mine was already tripped before all of this)
OPTIONAL (this will trip the Knox counter and lose warranty status)
6) Now you can use this guide to install the custom recovery ---> http://techbeasts.com/2014/05/04/in...-root-sprint-samsung-galaxy-s4-mini-sph-l520/
Again, you already have most of the files you need. DL what you don't have.

I am planning on instaling CM11 ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2669991
This ROM apparently needs a specific recovery in order to work properly. I installed that one instead.
MAKE A BACKUP IN THE RECOVERY OF THE STOCK ROM BEFORE FLASHING ANY CUSTOM ROMS, or else be sorry later.
This is about as simplified as I could get it. Hope this helps out those of you that were as confused as I was.
I will not be providing support. Simply do not have the time. There is more than enough info here to help you figure out what to do.

Can you help me to backup your first partition on your phone and send to me. You can use EFS Professional on xda.
Hmm....I installed the NJ1 update through Odin. And then flashed the CF auto root (or maybe it was the recovery.tar) with no issues. I did this when NJ1 was first released.

I was unsure about it considering all the changes with SE Secure and Knox. Always pays to be safer than sorry. I could not find any reports of this anywhere after hours of reading and searching. Thanks for confirming though. :good:

I am sorry, I have been really busy. What exactly are you trying to do? Asking someone to backup sensitive data from their phone and share it to a stranger can be alarming.
At least tell us what is going on or why you need the backup.
worked

Android Pie available for XEF (France) SM-T830 (WIFI)

Seems we finally have a pice of pie on our beloved Tab S4
HTML:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-s4/SM-T830/XEF/download/T830XXU2BSD1/267123/
Downloading and flashing in 5.... 4.... 3.... 2.... 1....
Pd. Available via Frija too.
I have XEF too, still no OTA update.
Tries flashing this on my US SM-T830. It is OEM unlocked in dev settings but download mode fails to install with the error "frp is enabled ignore pit download."
*EDIT*
Did a factory reset on the device and i no longer get that error. But unfortunately Odin just now sits at SetupConnection and never moves forward. Odd. Havent had this issue on any of my other devices on this PC.

Dang, keep us updated if you have any progress. I was looking forward to doing this when I got home.
Works just fine on the US model (the CSC makes little difference apart from the 5 Ghz wifi bands enabled). Make sure to use patched ODIN to update in case CSC mismatch causes an error during flash.
i just downloaded firmware via fija but there is a missing file
CP: CP_T830XXU2BSD1_CP12343989_CL15659493_QB23020316_R EV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

CP is the modem file and not needed for Wifi versions. Only BL,AP and CSC. Use HOME_CSC to keep data.

Using the above download link and Odin will install the correct firmware for the US right and not affect future OTA updates?
Hello, I took some pics for you guys.
As you can see we got the wellbeing app and the black theme.

You get only french OTA, but when XAR firmware was available then flash it and you will access to a XAR OTA.
Despite installing the French version, the tablet remains as a XAR hardware vendor.

I'm french and didn't get the OTA either. Guess we will have to wait a few days more.

Couldn't wait anymore. Manually updated it does work really fine.
so Im trying again to do the update on my s4, but it seems to be stuck at the intialization phase in odin. im using the stock odin, with a file downloaded from frija and unzipped with winrar. should i let it sit there? or do i need a reset?
edit: write operation fails, now for the third time. idk what im doing wrong :/
French Galaxy S4, and no OTA update for the moment.
Will wait 1 or 2 days, if always not available... Odin power !

what csc do I put in frija to get the pie update I can flash on my T830 wifi us Tab s4?????
Installed the update last night on my Tab. I was already planning to wipe it for a clean install, so I wasn't too worried about losing data. Worked great! Honestly, nothing really dramatically different, and I've found a few apps that need to be updated to work with the new navigation bar swipe function, but those will get fixed soon. Took me about an hour to reinstall all my apps.
