Of course we cant... There is no MHL support listed on phone specifications. Thats not big problem but it would be nice

Television need MHL support too

Really ? Never heard that...

we can only connect via DLNA. so the tv needs to be DLNA ready or if you have a TV box that is DLNA enabled.

HDMI
sisqoboy if you have your phone rooted could you try enabling hdmi in build.props?
Just add the following to build.props ro.hdmi.enable=true
Thanks

I could try it but unfortunately the cable has been given to my colleague...
Maybe I can ask someone else...
I'll share the result...

Any luck yet
@sisqoboy
Have you had any luck with enabling the HDMI and using a Mhl cable with your P6?

I've always wondered whats the benefit in having an HDMI cabe on your smart if you can't control it from where you watch. It's realy easier if you just connect over wifi and if you can buy a U$300 phone you can sure buy a U$35 Chrome Cast.

MyDP, Slimport alternative?
I know that our Huawei ascend p6 doesn't suppport MHL.
But is it possible that it supports Slimport? Or that the Slimport supports us?
Take a look at these links about slimport, I don't know if it will work for us:
http://www.intomobile.com/2012/07/02/vesa-introduces-mydp-think-like-display-port-over-usb/
http://www.tested.com/tech/android/457205-mhl-vs-slimport/
http://www.amazon.com/SlimPort-HDTV-Cable-Connect-enabled/dp/B00AGFISF8
All I know is that the slimport works with the nexus 7, whereas the mhl connector won't work with nexus 7.
Don't know if that works the same for our device.

If our device doesn't have the hardware to output video via mhl or any other hardware we can't do it ...
Huawei implemented SiI8240 MHL in it's kernel, but it looks like we do not have this chip
If we have no chip to do this we cant enable MHL

I acknowledge that MHL standard will not work. MyDP is another multimedia output standard that is made by VESA.
I was just wondering if MyDP standard would work instead, though I highly doubt it would.

there is no way this would work, because huawei didn't implement this to the kernel ...
if we could have a output, it would be implemented
we can use DLNA, there is no other way

can you try measure the VCC+ , i read some article about OTG , there's some phone that yes include the OTG feature but the phone hardware not support, because the usb must had 5V+ output from our phone to usb devices ,
so if you can measure the voltage with some digital multimeter would be great, so we will know is the kernel or harware fault that causing usb devices not working , damn if i had some OTG cable here
I guess there is no support...hardware limitation.........what to do

So much expectation
It would be reaaly cool, i already have thinked in some cool projects for my car xD
i hope all the devs here work out thr magic to make this fantastic OTG works for our incredible SGW
But in some cases, in Custom ROM ICS Based, it can use USB OTG, such as CM9
I think that it's will be very good, because I will be able to connect my USB keyboard and write on that, able to connect some usb flash... Very useful thing, I think!

OTG has been around for a while now....
Here's me rocking it on my S2.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCrecOR34Fs&feature=g-upl
I know Samsung made the 11 pin micro USB to use MHL and OTG accessories the same time because it was impossible before, and everyone says you can't use both over a normal hub so when the Hell is Samsung gonna release an accessory to do that, because they have delays on Allshare cast, MHL converter adapter(in some countries) and you can't game on Tv with wired controller, mouse, keyboard etc until Samsung bother to release it all, I mean I'm really getting pissed off having a phone capable of so much but right now just feels like an S2 with a bigger screen.
I got the connection kit for the Galaxy S3, it is infact made for the Galaxy S2, but works perfectly fine on the Galaxy S3.
Here is a review I did of it and the MHL adaptor. Sadly they didn't work together(one can wish)

Some please answer the above question. I want to use the microusb port to charge the phone and still use the other ports for mouse/keyboard/flashdrive/etc.
Also, it looks awkward to have large thing hanging off the phone so will this still work through a microusb extension cable?

I have one of those cheap ones from ebay,
like this
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41lvpNnutWL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
and i just plug it all in and it works fine, make sure you use Mains and not USB to power the mhl adaptor
also try doing things in a different order
and also try another tv / hdmi port
otherwise you could have a faulty one (because the one i had was very bad build quality)

Try changing your hdmi cable, also had the same problem, when i was using a hdmi 1.4 cable, there is no output to the tv, but when i changed to a hdmi 1.3 cable worked perfectly.
Ive tried 6 hdmi leads and 2 TVs 1tv does not display the other sort of worked for about 5seconds the sound was horrible like a untuned fm radio not to mention how bad the picture quality is when it detected hdmi sound enhancer was enabling and disabling constantly untill it complently stopped working at that point it stopped charging my phone while adapter was in I managed to get a few pictures see below

I think hdmi is being replaced by wifi widi wireless links, I know it's not as fast as wired connections.
you should be able to use a chromecast hdmi device and connect it to your phones AP hotspot and then wireless send your video content to a hotel TV or the sort as like cabled hdmi, if thata what you are after (otherwise there are heaps of cheap usb powered portable mini wireless routers). I think there are apps like Web Video caster that can mirror your phones screen as well.

Highly doubtful. They haven't for a while.
They expect people to use Smart view these days. Mhl is most likely a thing of the past.
I'm lucky. I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab S still and still got the mhl lead with it.

No you don't need a WIFi network for chromecast. You can use your phone's hotspot and LocalCast to cast local content/apps.
This is a pain when trying to mirror your screen in your car lol. Will have to wire a Chromecast.

I hope so I use note 3 mhl and it requires different pins 11 instead of regular mhl cord. I'll try to see if it works. Might need an adapter since it's USB type c
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
What sucks is that type C is a HDMI out port. I had purchased the Type-C to HDMI connector from Google because at first they said the Nexus 6P would support it and then a week before launch they retracted their statement saying it would not come that way. I know the new Motorola Droid Z/Z Force support Type-C to HDMI so I hope the Note 7 does too.
From GSMArena...
The big adapter lets you connect any USB accessory with the ubiquitous port. You can even connect your old phone and have the Galaxy NOte7 transfer all information when you set it up.
The microUSB adapter is more for convenience - it allows you to use a regular microUSB cable or charger with the Note 7. It doesn't have USB host functionality unlike thebigger adapter.
Note that both adapters work at (relatively) slow USB 2.0 speeds (even the big one).
Unlike older USB standards, Type-C has an official TV-out standard - DisplayPort. So you are only a cable away from hooking the Note7 to an HDMI port on your TV or external monitor. But in the times of wireless casting, this option is starting to look well over its due date.
The wired connection can also be used in your car as long as the head unit supports MirrorLink. This standard mirrors the phone's screen (including touch input) onto the head unit. From the settings, you'll easily find an alternative launcher with big, easy to hit icons (the CarmodeStub we saw on the Galaxy Note5 too).

It should, but you need a Type-C OTG.
Hi everyone, i have some issues using the OTG on my A7 2017
I tried to plug in my thumbdrive with my type C OTG connector but it doesn't seem to work.
- My phone did not detect my thumbdrive.
- My thumbdrive's LED does not blink as it would on my other devices while plugged in.
I saw some videos on YouTube showing that OTG is supported on the A7 2017.
Using OTG on this phone should be as easy as plug and play.
I also tried to use the phone to charge my other phone but it doesn't seem to work as well.
I have no problem charging or connecting the phone to my computer.
So I believe that the phone is not supplying power from its type C port.
Here are some information on my A7 2017:-
Model number: A720F/DS
Status: Official (No modification has been made)
Region: Malaysia
Firmware version: A720FXXU1AQC5
Anyone using the same firmware having the same problem with me?
Anyone using a different firmware having the same problem with me?
Could it be a faulty hardware or software issue?
Any solution to this issue? Or should I just take it back to Samsung for warranty?
Any help and suggestion is very appreciated. Thanks in advance.
