The device is not recognizing the battery for some reason.
Is it an OEM battery, aftermarket battery, a battery that took a swim, etc., etc.
Are you able to boot into ODIN/Download mode?

The first real hit on Google discusses it for 15 pages. I'd Odin the stock image. That fixed it when it happened to me:

Hello thanks for answering friends jejej the good thing is that the PC recognizes the galaxy s4 and already I got the rom the stock original tmobile by Odin and i also told him other baterria but it continues to be the same by giving me the problem of temperature does not know if it is that the motherboard Mmmm will be bad but when I come to download mode i get two options by saying that it is custom mmm and i contacted the original rom i will have to take it out with triangle away malfunction if is that here I put some images so that they can see i hope route a solution to that, thanks

Can you answer the battery question re Stock, aftermarket, etc.
Change the battery and see what happens.
Is the original battery, if it was originally OEM, damaged in any way.
Swim in the pool, etc. etc.....
If it ain't being recognized, it may not be charging.
Is it being charged, it's possible even though not showing.
But in this case law, I think the battery, contacts of device battery compartment, etc. may be damaged.
But you need to rule this out or in as per my posts......
The battery may be completed discharged.
Over discharged which can be a dangerous condition.
I advise you test another OEM battery, and to discontinue use of ccurrent battery from a safety standpoint.
Better safe than sorry, as they say

Well, I already tried another battery for my another galaxy s4 that i have but i keep getting this problem and the galaxy s4. It was neither wet nor by water or other liquid the s4 is newer and it is that the person who was the owner took him to an engineer to verify and they have made was opened the galaxy s4 and burned down by there are don't know if it was this affection that the galaxy s4

Not the battery as you say.
Then an internal issue of device most likely, but not 100% certain.
I don't know the full history of the device.
If you:
ODIN'd to stock successfully.
- Booted
-Wiped
- tried another battery
- no water damage
- replaced battery and same issue
Etc.
Sounds to me like there is a missing part of the puzzle, so to speak.

MMM for me is the motherboard that is bad already that earlier had a rom 4.3 and already I got the original tmobile rom and the Odin is detected in mode of download and I think that it's not the battery because I gave it another of s4 well, I think i'll buy a new motherboard malfunction if with that, you can operate the s4 and thanks before hand:good:

[Q] Defy T-Mobile boot loop how do I fix

I've reviewed some solutions on here regarding the UK rom version and loading it to the device. My concern is for the warranty on the device does anyone have the T-Mobile rom available to load on the defy? I'd assume that'd fix my issue where the phone has a boot loop and a wipe is not fixing it. I tried talking to motorola and that was a complete fail (see conversation below).
Reymer: Hi, my name is Reymer. How may I help you?
James: i am using a motorola defy. all of sudden today it stopped working. it boot loops showing the motorola boot screen and tmobile screen but then keeps doing this over and over again. i tried to do a factory reset but still failed. is there anyway for me to manually update with the original rom again with an update.zip similar to the motorola cliq?
Reymer: I am sorry to know that.
Reymer: Are you referring to a bootloader screen?
James: not exactly. it acts like it's booting up as normal but keeps repeating the process. i help down the volume and pwr button to get to the other screen can't remember what it's called so i can attempt a factory wipe on the device.
Reymer: Can you please take out the battery, return it after a few seconds and turn the phone back on? Let's try to see then if the phone is still doing the same thing.
James: i tried that already. still the same thing.
Reymer: Were you able to use a different battery?
James : why would a different battery change anything if it's software related? i know from all the research i've done so far it's needs to software reloaded to it however i cannot find the software for this device on the motorola website. it's a tmobile usa phone.
Reymer: We need to determine first if it's a phone or battery issue.
James : okay but explain to me what the battery has to do with the phone software? that's like telling me to put gas in my car to fix a flat tire they have nothing to do with each other.
Reymer: How did you know if that's a software issue?
Reymer: We are doing every means to isolate the case.
James : because it powers on and starts to boot up but just boot loops it doesn't power off. the battery is brand new and has a full charge i got the battery today so i know it has nothing to do with the battery. i've also worked with android development and understand isolating the issue checking for hardware concerns first which i did prior to getting on this chat.
Reymer: I suggest that you send in your phone at our repair facility and have it evaluated by our repair technicians. If proven that it did not suffer physical or liquid damage, that will be repaired for free.
Let me just inform you of the repair time frame, it will be 5-7 business days from the date we receive your item before it will be sent back to you.
Reymer: All Motorola phones and accessories have a standard one year warranty barring physical or liquid damage from the date of purchase.
I ended the conversation after that
Use my debranding/debricking guide in the dev section. If you are a US customer you will lose 3g and wifi calling as the US firmware is not available at present so you have to use UK - there are fixes for this about.

My first response to your phone call is... well, when I'm asked to do something absurd with my gear (and why would you have an exta battery anyway?) I always say, "yes, done that." "Have you tried jumping out the window with the phone up your ass singing "God Save the Queen?" "Yes, twice. No go." However... there do seem to be some whacko battery issues related to rebooting issues on Motorola phones. Example:
"I just got a new battery for my Droid, and the battery came 60% charged. So I did the battery drain until it powered off. I then put it on the dock to do a full charge, and now the phone is in a constant boot loop."
Same guy then:
"I just tried the old battery, and it does not go into the loop with the old one."
So..?

As far as I know, Li-ion batteries hate depletion, they shouldn't be totally depleted.
"Depletion below the low-voltage threshold (2.4 to 2.8 V/cell, depending on chemistry) results in a dead battery which does not even appear to charge because the protection circuit (a type of electronic fuse) disables it." -

Not sure what you mean. That a bad battery can cause problems? That IS the point, even if it's something produced by the user. It's probably not the cause, but it might be worth a try? This rebooting issue, though not tiny, does seem to be limited to some Euro (UK?) phones. Maybe a release of a bad batch of batteries? I realize that that poster probably should not have depleted his battery (though... don't we all once in a while?) maybe by crapping out his battery he induced his re-booting issue. But that still could be the cause of others' problems.
Hi !
I have this problem too.

[Q] Old broken nexus, hoping to fix. As well as another question.

I'll start with the easy question first. So today I revived my broken nexus (i'll get in to that later) and i managed to pull the browser apk because i miss the stock browser. Now when I try to install it on my galaxy s3, it doesn't install. Any idea why?
So 3 months after i got the nexus phone it would say it was charging without a cable, then not say it, then say it was charging. Many times throughout the day. I sent it to samsung and they replaced a usb component in it. 3 months later same problem, except this time it wouldn't charge legitimately as well. Sent it in to samsung again and they refused to fix it claiming it was water damaged. It would cost 200$ to fix it. I decided to use the money to buy a faster phone. (My s3) Today I booted it to pull some data i really wanted. Still refusing to charge. So is there a way i can make it work again?
Also, since it's at 10%, would it be safe to put the battery in my s3 and charge it? Despite it being rated for 3.7v and the stock s3 being 3.8?
Sorry for grammar and understanding issues, i'll try to answer questions you may have.
Here's a great video. Hope it helps

Hard Bricked! Help (T999/mobilicity)

I have a 9 month old S3 (T999/Canadian/Mobilicity Variant)
I had a ROM on there since day 2, but recently *this week* had a lot of hard lock ups. I could manage a reboot if I pulled the battery.
I tried 3 diff roms CM10, AOKP, and a recent 4.1.1 (all without apps) all worked but still caused the hard lock requiring a reboot.
It was annoying as you know what, but I was testing diff options wondering if the lockups were the OS/an app/or hardware.
Last night the phone was working on AOKP 4.2.2 while on the charger. I woke up and noticed it was hard locked, so I batt pulled, rebooted and went to sleep.
Now (this morning) it wont boot at all. I thought maybe it was the charger or the battery. I swapped batteries with a different S3, mine still does not boot.
So. What now?
Time for S4 and lose a $600 phone? Time to go to a Samsung or Carrier shop?
Have you tried Odin? Plug it into a computer see if things register if so go further with Odin.
I'd say that and see if it persist while on a stock then don't install your apps, if problem still persist call Samsung or whom ever and see about that. Or get it up and running and if steady put on Craigslist then get s4....

Google search that piece "QHSUSB_DLOAD" and see what it is. I've never seen that. Install Odin (in the dev section) and see what happens (read that thread) I'm at work on mobile or I'd give you links. Just a little reading and no panicking and you might get out of this alive lol.

That is found on XDA and the interwebs as a bricked device. it applies to captivate/HTC/s3 others.
I downloaded odin, but I can't get into download mode Power+Home+VDown (Nothing happens)
I didn't flash an incorrect ROM, since my phone was working, it bricked itself over night? Power Surge?
Aerowinder, if I am under warranty, can i take it to my carrier/samsung for repair? I can't get into Download mode.
Call them up and find out. It might be failing/tired internals/hardware... Did you have your phone over clocked at all in the 9 months, just curious?

I had the exact same problem and was still under the warranty and they exchanged it. I just told them that I plugged my phone before going to bed and when I woke up I wasn't able to turn it back on.

Ya I suggest just avoiding the headache of trying to fix, tell them you plugged it in over night to charge and now its completely dead and that its been acting weird for a while before. You should be good.

Not sure how this is going to turn out. The carrier refused to do the warranty, and gave me the # to samsung canada. I went to the Samsung Canada store, where they took the phone and gave me a GNexus (loaner)
So... lets hope they dont see the romming, my triangle should be 0.
If they do figure out my romming and their quote to fix is absurd, I will get HTC1 and repair the S3 on my own time.
I prefer Apple's warranty to be honest.

Update:
7 days after submitting for service, the phone came back from a 3rd party repair shop in Burnaby, BC. PBA replaced due to bad BGA (Ball Grid Array)
So I guess they couldn't boot it to see the root.
Working fine. The new phone came back carrier locked, original unlock # worked again.

I Hard Bricked my Samsung Galaxy S3 and if you dont mention anything about rooting they will give you a new one no questions asked. Now if you dont have a warranty or some type of insurance then call samsung and see what you can do about it. i did a warranty exchange and i got a new one. As long as you dont mention brick or root you will be find they will right it down as defective.

[Q] my galaxy note 2 wont start (urgent please help)

Dear all,
I am in deep trouble , my phone was working fine yesterday night but some how today in the morning when I was trying to switch it on the phone wont respond no startup logo nothing I tried to remove the battery/ sim/ memory card but still nothing happening I tried to plug the phone to laptop but it is not responding even I connected my phone with the charger no signs is it really charging or not, but still I tried to charge the phone for atleast 7-8 hours , only thing which I am getting is the red identification light keeps blinking when I try to switch on the phone , otherwise phone seems to be completely dead.
I am rooted & I have jelly bean 4.1.1, any help in this regard will be appreciated ... because I already have void the warranty by rooting although I have set the binary counter to zero through triangle away app.
thank you very much.
I think that your phone have SDS. But in your case i would check battery and charger - if that wont help just send it to warranty (if this is SDS its hard to check that you have root

thanks for the reply, I have tried 3-4 different chargers but no work for my phone for battery I have to check it, I heard that same crazy stuff were happening with SG-S3 but I is not the case with note 2, SDS means they have to replace some hardware components will it going to effect my data in phone also.

Dear member, thanks for the advise but it is not possible as my phone is not detectable by PC, so flashing is not possible until you tell me some other way.
If download mode not work in my opinion there is no way to bring it to life at home. Only replace motherboard can help.
Yes the same bug is in SGS3 (same eMMC chip on board). This is happening on 16 GB variant of sgs3 and note2. To avoid this next time use android 4.1.2 (Samsung propably fix this, - risk of SDS on newest roms are lower).
Try to check voltage on battery.

Have you ever flashed it before.. if not then you can claim warranty
If you have flashed it once or more the counter will raise and samsung might be a b*tch about it and charge you for it (like they did with me)
The thing you should not do at all if its the SDS is flash it because it will not write NAND and will always fail then

At first it would start charging when connected to a charger and i was able to turn on my phone(although it would not go past the google screen) but as soon as i disconnected my charger the phone would turn off(even though battery was nearly full).I performed all the wipes but it was of no help.My phone then stopped even charging. Now I cant even get it into recovery mode.
I would apreciate any and all help you can offer

the battery is fine i have tried another battery but it didnt work
Not so long ago i tried to be the boss and took another guy's i9000 to install CM10 for him, i nailed it, it installed and it was working perfectly fine, then after several reboots the phone got stuck in a bootloop, then it got stuck in recovery, then it got stuck on the samsung logo, and then it just died.(stopped charging) like having literally a brick in your hand, no response.
If you've done alot of mods to the phone I'm guessing something inside died, get your phone to warranty and say you cant turn it on, they'll just change the motherboard and give you the phone back, if you had any custom roms they will never know.

Well as i said, you have probably damaged physically some component on the motherboard, it needs to be changed so you can't fix it, find a Service that fixes android devices and tell em it doesn't boot nor makes a reaction at all, they'll prolly say they will change the motherboard if they have one and thats it.
*Edit*
I remember there was a thing called "jtag" that was able to debrick devices broken in such ways. But Rarely do services have them.
Try fastboot, download mode or omap
