Yeah, but Google just wanted to pluck it all up. What's great is now you can disregard any useless information on the internet that has the phrase "Android Key Lime Pie".

Is there any chance of us actually getting this? By the time it comes out, the S5 will be around the corner, and I'm sure Samsung won't care about its "old" devices anymore.

If you take the diameter of the sun and divide it by the distance from Earth to Jupiter in centimeters, then you add in the length of time it takes to eat a hamburger steak, you'll clearly see that the answer is completely pointless.
Basically what I mean is that nobody's 100% certain we'll even get an official 4.3 update... I mean, the T-Mobile variant hasn't received an update since MDL, so why even speculate as to whether we'll get 4.4? Unofficially, we will more than likely have CM and others based on it; but that's just an assumption.

Anyone care to speculate as to why kitkat seems incremental? 4.3 to 4.4 and it gets a new name? Jumping to 5.0 and then when small updates are required it becomes 5.1 to 5.2 and so on. But jelly bean 4.1.1- -4.2.1--4.2.2--4.3 then 4.4 becomes kitkat. Wierd.

In that case, why was 4.0.4 called Ice Cream Sandwich yet 4.1 was Jelly Bean? There are pretty vast differences between the two, so why wasn't Jelly Bean 5.0, 5.1, 5.2.2, 5.3, etc...

Anyone else notice how the updates go in alphabetical order? Lol

So, product placement in O/S project names? Is there a single orifice of modern culture that ad agencies haven't penetrated?

But yea.... it took until AFTER 4.2 came out to get 4.1 entirely rolled out..... and it's still only 4.1.1 IIRC. Probably won't see 4.2 for quite some time.
The note 2 will probably get it before us, or when ever the gs4 comes out someone will port it over Maybe some "leaked" roms like we did for 4.1.

Hahahaha. Of course they will release an update...eventually. I've never run a TW rom on my phone. I just stick to AOSP.

Yeah! I remember it took forever to just get the stock 4.1.1 update
dont forget once samsung releases android 4.2 the carriers take their time getting their bloatware on it. dont hold ur breath lol. im sure we'll have 5.0 on our phones way before that

[Opinions]Vzn sgs 3 just got 4.1.2 what do you think?

http://m.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-s3-seeing-its-android-412-update-today
Just read that today. Wanted to know what you guys think. More geared to those not running 4.2.2 ROMs since we all know you can just flash those and not worry about updates.

Nothing exciting. Biggest thing being improved Bluetooth. According to that list, they are leaving out everything from the International 4.1.2 update. And the 4.2 roms we have are AOSP, this update is stock TW.

Yeah it didn't look at that exciting to me. I'm sure Tmobile will lag on this let alone 4.2. I'm running stock now since I got my replacement. But, I think at least for me I'll skip the sgsiv and see what the end of the year holds. I've been through too many phones this last year to warrant me getting the sgsiv. Htc amaze>Sgs2>gbex>sgs3.

Was gonna work on a port of the OTA but ran into problems with the bootloader.
It doesn't seem to be much of a upgrade after talking to some Verizon users.

Don't bet on it being LG
Hoping for LG to update this software to 4.3:fingers-crossed:
AFA it is LG i dont think it will happen...at least before next 4/5 month
Lg is always late in launching & updating devices
Hoped that they improve this time but, Currently they are busy gor G2...SO
My girlfriend loves her OGP, she don't care about updates or ROMs. All she wants is root. 4.3 is fast, the G pro would be insane if y'all can get a good 4.3 ASOP ROM on it.
I looked in the Dev section and saw not a single ROM listed. Are there any custom ROMs for this device?

There's an Unofficial CM build in progress. I've been using it for a few days. The only problems are lack of camera, bluetooth issues (I can't confirm that) and the home button LEDs have been disabled. I'm sure once we have a solid CM base we'll start seeing more ROMs and ports.

And once we get a fully-working CM, it's not (IIRC) that much of a jump to a fully-working AOKP or MIUI or whatever. I have much faith in our awesome devs.

Well it took Samsung about 8 months to release Jelly Bean on the S3. So really they are all pretty bad with updates and most of that could be blamed on the carrier.
If you want immediate updates though, you have to go with Nexus.

It's not that bad just has a learning curve. Llama is a simpler version but less powerful. Has about half the things you can do and there's another app similar I just don't like the interface its called e-robot give that one a try you might like it. It's a simpler interface then tasker but I'm just used to tasker.

Don't hold anything on lg doing a update.. They are the sorriest excuse for supporting there device... Notice I said they are not about!!! Its sad to because there devices are starting to be very nice. But if you can't support or even remotely try to update them what's the point of making it.. just find my thread on the open source and look at the delay on response for simple questions.. lol took days ......

thats not entirely true for the s3. it wasnt 8 mnths, it was like 5 - 6 mths. plus they released a couple of non-JB updates during that time before the official JB was released.
to suggest that we all drop the OGP for the nexus just for updates is a bit ignorant.

G2 is the last LG phone I think I'll purchase. Funny, I've only owned 3 of them, Nexus 4, LGOG, and now the Lg Pro. Lol, so technically 2 and I'm already tired of the company.

I respectfully disagree. I mean this phone came to usa in mid may to june. And in less than 2 months the value update!
I mean seriously is that not good enough?
Yes the value pack was available for korean version earlier than that but again the phone was available there first.
4.2 & 4.3 for what? its the same stuff. I was hoping from google to released a full new revamp android version..but i feel like 4.2 & 4.3 are just maintenance update to patch stuff. Yes a few things here & there...but that's it.
Now the developer support for this phone has been a little slow. But unfortunately this phone is at&t exclusive witch is stupid move from LG.
But i will buy this phone again no doubt.
I wish the camera software was better. The camera has a lot of potential but the software is not there yet.

I respect your opinion and am glad its good for you......but no denying that many other people have plenty of issues. You're just lucky!
4.1.2 basically has no issues...none that can't be solved easily anyway. I am pretty lucky too....4.2.2 has never given me any major issues....but one random reboot or lockup and I'm back on 4.1.2. LOL. I've had zero issues with 4.1.2.....none that weren't solved as quick as they came anyway. 4.2.2 still has the odd issue, and for some, 4.3 has many. Even official 4.3 on my N7 has ticked me off enough that its going back to 4.2.2 when I get the chance. And 4.3 has changed nothing on my N7....for me anyway. For some it fixed lag from 4.2.2.....but I didn't lag on 4.2.2. So why deal with 4.3 when I see no improvement personally.
All personal preference of course. Just for me, nothing has been more solid on my t989 than 4.1.2.
I understand fully that the majority on xda will live with a glitch here or there to be on the latest and greatest........just for me....I'm all about stability now. Tired of glitches.
But no.....I'm not getting an iPhone.....I still like to play with my phone....and iPhone won't let ya! Lol

I'm excited for a new possible theme. Feel like 4.x were all similar in appearance so far. And yeah, if anything Touchwiz doesn't really need to be updated. As long as AOSP hits 4.4 performance and features will follow through. Google needs to step up its game because iOS is bringing up a huge update and I think they know that and that this huge update begins with Kitsap.
