USB OTG Cable + USB Mouse - Idle power down issue - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (I467M - Telus LTE). I have a OTG USB Host Cable and I've been trying to use a USB mouse with this tablet but it seems to be having an issue with the tablet powering down the USB mouse when it is idle for more than 3 seconds, causing it to disconnect. After clicking a button on the mouse it powers on and after a 2 second delay reconnects and functions normal until I leave it idle to start the process over again.
I do not want the USB mouse or keyboards(Tried aswell) to disconnect if left idle. It takes too long to reconnect and is quite annoying when your not consistently typing or using a mouse.
I'm wondering if this is a API issue with the usb drivers on the device or if this is a setting that can be tweaked.
Thanks for your help! (Btw the devices all work fine and dont idle out on my samsung galaxy s3 from telus. (I747))

Charge Only going in and out

I charge my EVO off of my laptop at work and I have noticed that periodically it will wake up and the little lightning bolt indicating that it is charging disappears. The phone will go back to sleep for about 60 seconds then wake back up and the charging icon will re-appear. Is this normal?
Check your charging cable. Have you dropped your phone while it was plugged in causing it to become unplugged? That happened to mine and now the terminals aren't stiff (yeah yeah that's what she said haha), so it will only charge if the plug is at an angle that causes the terminals to make contact with the upper portion of the slot.
If so, I haven't found any way to resolve that.
If not, can you provide some more details? Will it charge if it's plugged into the wall?

Charges fine when plugged into the wall. Phone have never been dropped. When I plug the USB cable in, I get the option for Charge Only, Disk Drive, etc and choose charge only. It will charge for a long while, then the screen will wake up and the charging icon will be gone, though the icon showing that the phone is connected via USB is still present. The phone will go to sleep that way then wake back up with the charging icon present again. It's very odd.
My phone has started doing something very similar only it is connecting as Disk Drive when I select Charge Only. When it does this, I have to switch it to Disk Drive, then back to Charge Only. Sometimes while its just sitting there charging, it disconnects (like yours is doing) and reconnects to Disk Drive again while Charge Only is selected. I have to repeat the steps above and its an endless cycle.
this could very well be an issue with your laptops USB chip/circuits and/or power profile.
Often times, your computer will try to power down unused components.
Depending on your laptops usb, windows and/or bios may be powering down the usb at which point your phone wakes up, attempts to reconnect (waking your laptops usb up), then starts charging again.
You might try going to your device manager > usb controllers > usb hubs > power management tab > uncheck 'allow computer to turn off this device to save power'.
I agree with it being the power save on the USB ports. You will need to uncheck the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" for each USB port. Keep in mind on newer desktops and laptops, that there can be eight or more of the selections available for you to uncheck.

I found out that the default setting for doubleTwist media player is to make it automatically set as a disk drive upon usb connection. This setting can be changed.

[Q] Not Enough OTG USB Power OUT

Ive been trying to get an Wireless Xbox 360 controller working on my GNex. If i plug in the wireless receiver it stays off unless i hold the sync, but turns off after a few seconds. One time i rebooted with it plugged in and i was able to navigate the home screen for a bit then it died. I tried plugging it into a powered USB Hub and it worked great and I was able to play several levels of Dead Trigger with no issues.
It seems like the usb port isn't putting out enough power for this.
HDMI over MHL also flickers and cuts out frequently, is this also do to some weird power fluctuation? I always turn off LTE before i use MHL as i read that that interfere but that doesn't fix it.
Anyone know about these two problems? Are they related as i suspect? Is my device just defective?

Please Help: Backing up N5X - Broken Screen

So my screen is unresponsive but I've gotten the OTG to work with my mouse.
I've enabled debugging with my mouse, and when unplug the OTG and I plug into my computer it prompts me to verify it and I have to check another box.
Is there a work around this? Or another way I can pull my files to my computer.
Also, now my phone is starting to flickr and simulate input and its making the mouse really hard to use.

DeX over HDMI only interacts with phone, not monitor

Using DeX via HDMI on my Note 10+ 5G, when I either use my phone as a touchpad or use a BT keyboard with trackpad, the cursor only shows up on the phone's screen, not the DeX session on the monitor. The BT keyboard also only affects the phone, not the DeX desktop.
Using the S-pen is even weirder. It does affect the DeX session, but "secretly" --- the cursor doesn't appear on the monitor, but pen taps do operate controls on the monitor.
Oddly, this worked perfectly fine until a couple of days ago. [I had a DeX via USB to PC session lock up the phone
I had to VolDown and Power to reboot, whereupon the phone had forgotten all of my wifi credentials (but otherwise seemed ok). Maybe unrelated...]
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

It's always that thing you think to try 30 seconds after you post a request for help that works....
For future reference, if anybody else has this happen, on a hunch thinking that maybe some toggle had gotten toggled but not untoggled when it crashed the last time, I just reconnected my phone to the PC via USB, waited for DeX to activate on the PC, and then disconnected it, and that restored the proper functionality.

Charging problem-connected via device usb

Hello, so I'm on Android Q and recently having this issues. Tried multiple USB cable but nothing works.
The problem is that when I try to charge-plug USB, it won't automatically charge, instead I need to tap notification-"charging connected via device USB" and select 'thus device' then it starts charging.
The strange things is that when phone off, I could plug the charger and it works. I'm so fed up with this, also the 'charging connected via device usb' seems persistent and annoying
Anyone having this problem? Any suggestion?
Thanks!
You can set default USB activity in developer options. You can control the notification by pressing and holding it and turning notification off.
Thank you, what works for me was cleaning both USB and port with perfume.. thank you tho
