[Q] Bloatware Remove with Rom Cleaner or TrulyClean Script - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I can't find it by search but perhaps someone can give me a link to a one of the above mentiones scripts with files for the Samsung Galaxy Ace II (mine is i8160p). I use stock rom but want to delete the bloatware. This seem to be very simple especially with Rom Cleaner.
I hope that Rom Cleaner can run with temporarly CWM that I use?
Also helpfull will be a list of bloatware from our Rom (version 4.1.2, XXMG2) with explanations for what use the things are.
Sorry for my english. It's forty years ago I learned it.

You can try minimal by judas77 but follow guide to use any rom on GT-I8160P. Something to do with tee folder(sorry i dont know where it is, hopefully i8160p users view this thread)

Thanks, very interesting page and it will help a bit. But i don't want another rom (or flash again the next time) because I've needed a whole day to bring all apps, widgets and so on back to my phone. Also I've backed up the system (and also the TEE dir) with CWM so I can bring back everything easily. But a script with all bloatware (and even Backup like Rom Cleaner) will be helpfull now and in future.

[Q] Need help regarding stock rom customization

Uhhm ok first of all I'm not a 'PRO' at android manipulations or something, just an average xda guy, so please be friendly ...
I was thinking if is there a way that I can make my stock rom function like custom roms? Like have what most custom roms have to offer? I read that stock is always better than custom...
Also like my stock can have tweaks to lengthen batt life, make it faster eventhough its just stock. And also have tweaks like MegaBassBeats etc. just wondering since idk if I can flash those directly on stock.
PS. Im currently using Hybrid v4
You can follow kurotsugi thread to create custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590330
I always use stok rom and customize with some tweak, modify infitrams in kernel and add another work from other but still love to use stok kernel.

That thead made after i custom my rom. Lol.
But kurotsugi more better than me to write and his progres very awsome n more advance than me.
Actualy just use rootexplorer, titanium backup, cwm, and winrar in window enough for minimalis customize.
if you don't want to make an installable rom, you can skip that part. you can go directly for customizing section. you can follow chamatht post about deodexing apk's.
PS: thanks savie, but I'm not as good as savie have said. I'm just another noob here

sir what do you mean if I dont want to make an installable rom? and which part do I skip? I just want to make a rom or just customize stock rom and let it have maybe the following:
-bravia engine
-megabassbeats
-v6 and [email protected] support
-deodex (still thinking about it, since it looks kinda hard)
-merruk kernel (I think I read somewhere that it is ok with stock rom? not sure)
those are currently my target for this project... is it possible to have those on (modified) stock rom sir?
Edit: I just read your guide sir, and I think I can do it (I think), so I can customize an existing rom that I have now and put bravia engine + megabassbeats etc. on it? Btw, I have a ccopy of chobits rom so I have the files, your guide says "put be_photo and be_movie in system/etc folder then edit the build.prop" what do I put in build.prop to make it work?

you can go straight to the customization. see add_build.prop.sh inside megabassbeat. that is the script that you should add.

so the add_build.prop.sh I just copy paste the contents to build.prop? or is it supposed to be a separate file that I should just paste somewhere on system folder?

don't copy all the script. you'll need to copy the string and value for build.prop file. if you don't know which one should be copied you can use this one. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zf40rush0bdj1u2

[Q] Deleted stock app.Whoops. Help?

I found a supposed "safe" list of stock apps to delete and foolishly started firing them in the bin only to find that the messaging icon had not only vanished from the home tray but the option to replace it with a new shortcut had too.
I guess one of the apps deleted was responsible for that. Can any of you boffins figure out which i need and where to get it? The dangers of rooting sigh.......
I use handicant messages so perhaps a 3rd party applications could suffice. Next time either make a nandroid backup or use titanium pro.

Thanks for replying but im sorry. Maybe im a noob. I did make a nandroid but a couple of months ago and i wanted my system the way it was the other day. Dont know how to use ftfs or how they would particularly apply here. If i was to extract a copy of the current system id still be missing the messaging app wouldnt i? Is there not simpler apk method maybe or something that doesnt involve code/commands.
Just go on the market and download go sms or handcent

[KITKAT] Evervolv's general and Q & A thread

This thread is meant for people with questions regarding my Kitkat ROM.
Why did I create this thread?
I want to keep my Development thread clean.
What can I ask/post about?
Almost anything, as long as it is related to me or the ROM.
Some examples;
"Does INT2EXT work with this rom?"
"Does supercharger work with this rom?"
"Where are you from?"
And so on...
Feel free to help each other out! And please, stop posting about this in the development thread.
Well I now feel officially obliged to apologize for ****ting in your development thread.

Here's my problem: GTalk crashes when people call me (voice chat).

Good idea starting this thread. So here's my first question :
Does Netflix app work for you w this rom (latest version)?
For me it instantly shuts down when I start the app.

I had it installed on P11. You have to patch services.jar (there's a windows tool to do it for you here).
I had a lot of freezing problems before and after installing it. They weren't the same after I installed it; not necessarily better, just different. I have no way of knowing if it was supercharger or an app or some sort of interaction between two or more things.
I'm on 3.1.0p1 now and I have no intention of using supercharger because my Desire is more responsive and better at multitasking now than it ever was on Gingerbread with supercharger.
sorry to ask what exactly is/does supercharger?

I tried supercharger to jb/cm10 and I had no problem at all I believe the same would be for p1 but at the moment I run without supercharge and looks that the rom doesnt need it.

I can't say, I don't use my desire. But.. If someone else here were to install Netflix (No need to login, just try to start) that'd be great.
Get me a logcat and I'll see what I can do.
adb logcat -c <press enter>
adb logcat > netflix.txt <press enter> and start netflix. then upload it somewhere (like pastebin?)
I would ask for Aroma Installer with which we can be able to choose between different scripts (A2SD and INT2EXT) and misc.
And....what about trying Cyanogenmod settings to be able to customize even further?

Using Aroma = more bugs. No thank you.
Well.. That's Cyanogenmod and not Evervolv.
Hi Nikez, Just curious, any reason you use a2sd and not other scripts (d2ext, int2ext etc)? Speed, stability? So people won't ask and try other alternatives as you as dev explain the benefit.
By any chance, did anyone try endomondo on the new p1 release? On p11 I had a problem that every time I tried viewing the map, the phone froze.. not sure if it was some issue with gapps. Anyone hit anything similar?
@nikez thanks for the awesome JB ROM. My Desire is still kicking along after nearly 2.5 years!
I have just installed the latest update 3.0.0p11, flashed the 4.1.2 version of google apps (gapps-jb-20121011-signed) and setup app2sd.
When I view the available space using Titanium Backup I only have 36.8kB free in System Rom partition. Is that normal on stock Hboot?
Also, I installed the latest Google Calendar update from the Play Store. I now have two calendar apps installed. Has anyone else tried this yet? Do I need to remove the other one from /system?
I would like to thank you deeply for this amazing ROM. I've been searching a perfect rom for a long time, but I think I am very close to end my search now while using your ROM. Very fast, very versatile, almost stock ROM. I love simplicity and this is absolutely perfect.
The only problem I had was a problem with camera - I know this is an annoying issue with many ROMs and it's probably not very well made in the Android itself. Do you think it will get better? I understand that it probably does not depend on you, but I believe this is the last thing that is truly missing to your ROM. (But I am no power user, just a casual user).
And again, thank you for (imho) the best Jelly Bean ROM available here, and I am seriously considering a donation. Keep up the good work!

[Q] How to make a "starter stock 2.3.6 rom"

hello all,
I want to make my own custom rom based on the stock 2.3.6.
I've read some tutorials about that but I don't get any informations on how to get a base to work with (a flashable zip with all the rom's files?).
So do I have to flash a original rom to my gio and then backup all the files with some software or something else?
I can try to compile it if it's really necessary but I would be glad if I can avoid it.
I don't want to start with a existing all customised rom like enhanced236, I would like to start from a fresh and clean rom and then share it with the gio communty.
Thanks a lot for your help.
I found something about dsixda.
I'm on the right track?
thanks.
on the right track, but just a note: dsixdsa kitchen is made for HTC, and its a tool, you wont really learn much from it, and it may not be fully compitable

If you don't want to build from source your gonna have to know how to edit apks n Smali. Your gonna need apktool, smali, & baksmali.
If you want base it off the stock rom just flash the stock rom n make a backup in recovery. You'll need the system folder from that backup.

Can some one explain me clearely how to get a flashable stock rom zip or give me a link to some good tutorial working for the Gio?
sorry but I can't find something clear about all that.
I've spent a day trying to figure out how to do that but I was not able to make a single working zip
dsixda clearly doesn't work for the gio or I'm missing something.
I only need someone to put me on good track to start. I'm only loosing time trying and testing a lot of not so complete tutorial.
thanks a lot

[Q] Is the stock rom "good enough"?

I'm taking over a friends old R800i next week and I'm really looking forward to it since I've wanted one of these since about when it was released.
What I'm looking for is a rom that gives me all the usual stuff - GSM connection, working 3G, wifi, gps, sms, mms, camera - but, will a custom rom give me better performance for emulation?
I want to be able to emulate all kinds of consoles without losing too much performance due to the rom - nor do I want my battery to get drained while the phone isn't in use. I'm of course ready to try a bunch of roms and I have looked at some of the threads, without learning much to be honest. I'm not even up to date with who's roms are the stable ones or which is the highest SE provided rom for Play either.
Looking to emulate N64, nes, PS and sega genesis, mainly.
If you root and debloat the stock rom, you will get excellent gaming performance. I went rom using custom roms and went back to stock as it provided the best performance all around.

Well Pizza_dox is an asshat refusing to answer on relevant questions in the thread he made for "the perfect setup", so I need a reliable source to go after since I have no idea what following the guide he provides will actually do to the phone (and I'm not going to learn by failing, hence why I ask questions which she/he refuses to respond properly to)

Please act respectful: PizzaDox has opened many manu threads, and he can't be repling at all of them.
Anyway debloating a rom is simple and can be done by everyone that wants to, by extracting the system.sin from your .79 ftf, dumping its data with flashtool in order to make it a yaffs img, extracting it with a yaffs extractor and then removing the apps located into "app" that you consider as bloat
