[RECOVERY] CwM Touch xt907 v6.0.3.6- Very Fast, Deadly Touch interface working - Droid RAZR M General

xt907 cwmr touch 6.0.3.6 flashable.zip with working touch screen input. Easy to double touch your way passed the confirmation screen & bork something. But that is what Koushik intended! It is FAST & but for a dim screen bug- fixed by a reboot recovery (sometimes) - is 100%. Thankfully the keys work also.
Tip: always scroll via the bottom half of the screen as the "deadly double touch" will only occur as you scroll above the yes confirmation.
Create img zip works and created "image.zip" in my internal sd clockworkmod folder. Not sure how this new feature is used, as of post time...
More on create image zip: http://www.modaco.com/topic/358378-backup-stock-rom/
******************************************
This Atrix (key only on the xt907) version is safer!
It does have a dim screen if booted from volume key.
Works "out of the box". Key Navigation only. Flash-able.
For the timid: the AtrixHD's first custom recovery was the Photon Q version right out of rom manager. I have been using the same Q ver for months.

Built one just as ej1911 said I could! Thanks ej1911.
Warning: I inadvertently wiped all data as I was testing the touch input.
You can use keys too. This touch input is fundamentally flawed! It is too easy double touch your way passed the no/yes conformation screen!
The basic interface for key use is not suitable for touch use!
The twrp interface in fundamentally safer!
Both these versions have a dim screen bug depending on how it is launched.

Since we are in the official cm builds now you can build a 100% functional touch.
Google cwm recovery builder and follow the instructions. It creates a recovery.img. Flash via fastboot or place in a flashable zip.

We can apply the xt907 dev tree to it (I haven't a clue how to begin)?
Please go man go. There are oudhs that need to be ported too.
Edit
Thanks I will try to find a link

They are the same.
I tried it out & has the same dim screen bug. I found nothing wrong with mine other than that ether & poor interface design for the use of touch screen input.

It seems to go off of whatever my screen brightness setting was when I rebooted.

Depends on how you get to recovery & a reboot recovery will fix it - from recovery that is.

Koushik Dutta's Clockwork Recovery:
Attention: Some people experience problems when flashing through Rom Manager. Flashing again usually fixes the issue. Use method below for best results. If on pure stock, your recovery will be overwritten unless you delete your /system/etc/install-recovery.sh file.
To flash recovery for Nexus S 4G, download recovery 5.0.2.0 or recovery touch 5.8.0.2 and place it into your sdk tools folder. Reboot into bootloader and execute:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-crespo4g.img
or if you prefer the touch version:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-crespo4g.img

I had some issues doing it through rom manager. It was a no go so I flashed through bootloader.
I haven't checked if old backups are compatible yet. Anyone care to try and post?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Every time I click on the update from inside ROM Manager, something terrible happens. I used think it was because I clicked on the link for the other Nexus S, but I was super duper careful this time.
If I try to reboot into recovery without being attached to my PC after flashing a new recovery in ROM Manager, I get stuck in fastboot. If I tell it to please boot me into recovery so can add a shiny new object to my Android, it tells me, "No ma'am." And, if im being honest, when I can't flash exciting new thingys on the go, existence begins to seem somewhat more futile. I'm sure you understand.
Might as well ask if there's a way I can fix it before I get home (in TEN HOURS) by fastbooting from a terminal or something. Okay, I'm begging.
p.s. I feel like I didn't get invited to most of Version 3 and all of Version 4.

I can confirm they do work.
Trying to upgrade from 4.0.0.2 to 5.0.0.0, I keep getting stuck on "Waiting for device"..
If on windows...your driver is bad.
Try flash_image gui by Joeykrim
Well here is the thing, I can push/pull things from the device, I can adb shell to the device.. Everytime I try flash the recovery, I get the waiting for device
Well if on Windows, fastboot driver needs to be there along with adb.driver. Two different things
Didnt work through rom manager, had to do it via fastboot. I dig the new color!
so rom manager updated my cwm to this one and when i go to reboot into recovery it goes into bootloader and which i chose recovery nothing happens .... first line says FASTBOOT - NO RECOVERY OR BOOT IMG
For anybody having flashing/ pushing/ just getting the new cwm recovery use the flash_image by GUI app located in the ns4g app section. I can't stress it enough, but it your trying to computer up to speed for Android development I understand.

I updated through ROM Manager and it worked just fine. I believe as long as you are running the latest version of ROM Manager you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks for this amazing (first) softkey recovery for xoom
Just flashed! It is not fully touchable! Only softkey!
Uses soft keys and works great. May not be what you call touch. All I know is NO more volume buttons!!
Solarnz, thanks for this great work!
thanks works great!
team eos once again beats team kang ! lol
I hope you release the source, so team kang can get donations for making some minor changes and have a big release. lol
Works great here,softkeys
Thank you Solarnz!
One question though, can I use backups larger then 2.1 GiB with this recovery?
I couldn´t with rouges recovery.. some fault with the tar binary in recovery.
I will try it myself but Ihave to shrink my data partition first...
I have the problem on my galaxy nexus with latest touch CWM

Thanks for the recovery with softkey .. having the Nexus I feel at home! and then with the physical buttons are a little annoying, since it has not xoom key performance .. is now much better .. Good going for the great work ..
Maybe i overlook but what is the different between Softkey version and Normal version? thx

The four bottoms on the bottom of the screen are as follows from left to right:

The options can't be physically touched. You have to use the soft keys to scroll through the options.

Yea, in the zip file the IMG of cwm and twrp are old but I downloaded newest then put both on internal SD. Works gr8t. Make sure that they are separate and if you have to rename the img file
Cwm: name to touch.img ( if its the touch img, idk what to name non touch, I don't use)
Twrp: name as twrp.img
After that should work, that's how I put the latest twrp on my phone.
Edit: I need to learn to check things b4 I speak lol!! I used it to install twrp 2.4.2.0 Sorry about that didn't mean to intentionally mislead anyone. Should still work. Just make sure that when u download either img file u change the name to how I outlined. Phone is almost dead I'll get the latest twrp img from computer. Well post back with results

Yup and with CWM, I'd press the volume up button when I saw the purple LED. But doing that didn't do anything when I flashed TWRP. Does it matter if I had CWM installed previously?
Is it possible to get it working on LOCKED bootloaders also??? I know I will unlock eventually but I still currently don't want to let go of the Bravia Engine 2

Just ctrl+s on your keyboard or klik file and there is a download command
I dont think the device is dead.. Its around 4 generations old. Yet is able to stand its ground and has the latest and greatest OS running on it.
I personally am planning to use and update the device till it can take no more
Can we flash the zip file in recovery to update or do we have to hook up to computer???

Guys, I spent a long time starting with deodexed 4.1.1 stock, added Xposed module and Blackout theme and swapped in all inverted current apps then reodexed but.....since I changed TWRP above 2.5.0.0 my backup is restoring incomplete. I am sticking with a backup of 4.1.1 because WifiTether works on WiMax but not after 4.1,1 so I want a nandroid that restores fully. Is it because TWRP is full SELinux now?

If you take the nandroid with the new version you'll probably have better luck. Only other thing I've seen, and granted this was on my s3, but with one of the versions I couldn't restore unless I kept the screen on during the restore. But I've also seen restore fail because of the first item too after upgrading recovery and then trying to restore a backup made with an older recovery
